We were upgraded to a better room, no reason as to why, presumably our original booking they could not fulfil. The upgraded room was lovely though. The barman on the roof top bar was useless. They were supposed to be open until midnight but quite often he shut up at 11.30 and didn't like it if anyone asked for another drink.
The location and their food(breakfast). Also their staff are wonderful and friendly. the beautifl ladies at the breakfast room are wonderful. they are always smiling, helpful, and service delicious home made sweets non loved the stay and the hotel
Beautiful old building at a great location small shower with a shower curtain that would constantly stick on you. Wifi turned out to work only in the small lobby and was very shaky. First got a small noisy room although I asked for a quiet one; luckily could change it.
Balcony with drinks & snacks at the top was great Sewer gas smell in bathroom- please check the traps/ sewer ventilation!
Location and hotel staff. Everything was great.
Perfect location for visiting and shopping Bathroom smell and noise from the street
free Internet, pleasant lounge on first floor with rest room Spanish Steps a bad location except for luxury shopping--not near historic attractions or affordable shopping
The hotel is well situated for seeing the sites of Rome and with most circular hop on/off bus routes passing close by, the opportunity of easily going further than neighbouring attractions such as the Spanish Steps and Trevi. The staff were friendly and helpful and arranged alternative taxi to airport when Margana Travel (booked through Viajes Almeda) didn't turn up. The room, at the rear of the hotel, was comfortable and picked up no street noise. With temperatures about 30C, the airconditioning was very welcome. The cold buffet breakfast was the same every day but was enjoyable and more than adequate to set you up until you got to your next pit stop. The coffee was exceptionally good. The roof terrace bar was good for a relaxing drink. Not a major problem but the shower regulator was a little awkward and had obviously undergone maintenance recently. Bathroom was small but not the smallest we've had in Italy.
its location at the centre of Rome is perfect both for sightseeing and for shopping.
The amazing 19th century builting. It's a trip in the past. Amazing. Service.
The rooms, designs and the hotel staff. no nothing
The hotel is very beautiful. looks like one of the attractions in rome. The room (regular) was very big, alot of space. The location of the hotel is perfect The breakfast was OK, not worth 25 Euro tho. The table by the bed had stuff glued on it and the lamp swich was sticky, but except of it the room's cleaning was fine.
Location Service and attitude. No internet working - wifi or hotel computers out of order
the view. excelent deco. no ice machine
The staff was friendly and helpfull. The central location is superior. The old world charm and beauty of the public areas, marble, frescoes and stained glass harks back to what the lap of luxury was like at the turn of the century when this hotel was no doubt reserved for the top upper class of society. Because the hotel is over 100 years old she shows her age and has not been kept up to the standards of a Five Star Hotel. She is a bit run down and in the rooms it appears that the money needed to maintain the standerd to which it claims is lacking. The glamour of what may once have been the best hotel in Rome has long since past. She is a grand old lady who is in need of some tender loving care.
i like Mr.Luca very helpful person the terrasa was closed ..if i need ice for example i have to pay service 5 euros
Location Did not have Room booked had to pay 200 euros per nite extra for a room available. no heat, room cold .Bkft 1st day bad, got sick spent day in bed diarrhea. Great hotel at one time in need of repairs and renovation. No 5 Star. Restaurant filthy ,shower broke, electrical wires in open in room. Lived and visited Europe every year since 1961. Been to Rome 20 times worst experience.Have pic tires to compare to hotels website, big difference.Front desk not friendly or helpful
Location was unbeatable. Staff was not very helpful. Room was comfortable but nothing fancy by any means. The pillows were hard as a rock and no Wi-Fi that I could access..
Location, The luxury of the 19th century and a kind of new roman decadence... It's a political matter.....but nice ! rooms , poor of confort, decoration, bathroom, all thonks that imbeliveble for a 5star hotel..!!!! even a international plug for eletrical shave in te bathroom....
The staff was amazing. They all knew our names from the moment we checked in and made us feel very welcome and at home. The concierge provided excellent recommendations for food which was always spectacular and reasonably priced. The Palm Court bar is an Art Deco fantasy. Our BEST stay in Rome, and we have been many times. We will only stay at the Hassler in the future!
Wonderful staff with first rare service.
All ok excpt the air condition. Air condition was bad not cooling enough.
location II was upgraded from Junior Suit to a Executive suit which had a nice bedroom and a larger then a corridor made up to a living room. You had to watch the TV from a distance of perhaps 2 meters. There was another room with a table in the middle with 4 chairs nothing else which was useless.very small lifts.
the location is perfect to see all the sights. it's very central to the Spanish steps and with in walking distance to the rest of the city it wasn't as upscale as we thought it was going to be, and for the price breakfast should have been included
Location was excellent. On a quiet road so not noisy. Staff were not very friendly. Restaurant suggestions were not great and no irons to borrow which surprised us for a 5 star.
The location is great. The room was comfortable enough. The hotel lounge was cozy. No wireless connection, despite the hotel staff is persuaded there is one. Ethernet connection + movies overpriced. Multimedia defficiency for a 5 star hotel.
Location, friendliness of staff, The rooms at the 5Th floor were unproper of a 5 star hotel, the price is over to high
Convenient possition. Room in need of decoration for standard of hotel.
The location is excellent for a good short holiday in Rome. Central. We did not like the first room were put in: room 379: tacky and filthy carpet and aged cranky bathroom.
Location Un renovated rooms, wifi doesn't work well and they make you pay for it, we had to change rooms. This hotel needs to be renovated. This is really not a small leading hotel or a 5 stars hotel as marketed
Located close to the Spanish Steps
hotel staff, cleanliness, posision in Rome The price was very hi for the offer.I accepted trough booking.com because of transcripcion and pictures, witch vere unapropriate. This is second time the same thing with booking.com reservation.First time hapened with Hotel Starhotels Splendid in Milan!! You should do something.
small room very small bathroom not a 5 star room lucky to rate 3
The most important thing about this hotel is its location. It is located exactly on the Spanish Steps I thought the rooms were small and were overpriced.
The location Oldish
It is a pleasant hotel over all , the roof top cocktail bar and the breakfast areas are in keeping and enjoyable ares of the hotel , but there are areas within the hotel starting to need a little attention . This hotel is rated 5 star and I expect it to perform to it ratings , it fell short of its ratings ,compering with many other 5 star hotel I have stated in , hence to the value.
best location and service.
Excellent staff--especially the duty managers and concierge staff. While our room was very comfortable, it was a tad smallish (appeared to be built for a single bed yet had a king wedged into it.)
the best was the location, this is out of question, amazinf spot, but for the price thge hoytel was just ok, and the service just ok as well there is nothing really bad but to my advice trhe people working there do not know thar tjere is alot of unemployement now in Europe.........
I loved everything about the hotel. The rooms were great and the beds were sooo comfortable. We had been in Italy for a couple weeks and it was the best place we stayed at!!
Hotel is stylish and clean and there's an old world grandeur about it which I liked. Bed was very comfortable and restaurant area on second floor was very pretty. I enjoyed my stay overall. Room and bathroom assigned to us were just slightly too small I think. But otherwise it was fine. We discovered that there is a lift that takes you up and down the Spanish Steps too late. The hotel staff did not tell us about it which I found odd. Although the hotel is central, psychologically, the thought of all those steps is a little offputting - it's not the sort of hotel you feel you can just nip back up to in a minute. I think the hotel should at least inform you about the lift on your arrival.
The hotel is luxurious and well run. I felt the excessive charge to use the internet was unecessary.
hotel is not comparable with other 5 star hotels in Rome. . the hallways need a paint job hotel is not comparable with other 5 star hotels in Rome. . the hallways need a paint job
The hotel was very clean and furnished beautifully. The location is great. It is massively over-priced. The bedrooms are relatively small for the cost (I had to move furniture everytime I wished to go onto the balcony or dry my hair in front of a mirror) and although the view from the restaurant is stunning, the service wasn't anything special given the extortionate prices - in fact we expected much better.
The staff at the Eden are excellent, especially the very helpful and knowledgeable concierge. The rooms are pleasant, clean and well-maintained and the view from the restaurant is gorgeous. The hotel is located at the top of the Spanish Steps, which means you either have to like to walk, or you're taking cabs everywhere. The upside is that it's very quiet.
Comfortable hotel, super view of the city from the roof top bar No Sky sports channels on the TV. Cost of drinks in the bar
The location for the Eden is wonderful - close enough to the sites, while in a quiter luxurious neighborhood in Rome near the Villa Borghese Gardens. The public rooms are beautiful and service impeccible. our rooms were nicely appointed however did not have good views. The rooms have no carpets, bare wooden floors and there is no outlet in the bathrooms for hairdryer use. When I called the concierge to inquire how one could use the hairdryer in the bathroom I was informed that you must use the hairdryer at the desk in the bedroom. There is only one outlet there and so I had to unplug a lamp to plug in the hairdryer that is supplied by the hotel (clearly a woman was not present when designing these rooms and bathrooms!). Otherwise, an elegant spot in Rome and it was a very good value!!
1. location 2. room breakfast is to correspond to the price (quality and choice are very poor)
Excellent room, bathroom and hotel Poor service, arrogant and unhelpful staff made interactions with reception unpleasant. "Attempts" were made to service the room after 2pm each day exactly when we returned to our room after spending the morning and early afternoon sightseeing. This poor timing of the proposed servicing of the room was obviously intentional so as to avoid servicing the room. No soaps where replaced during the 4 night stay. Initially laundry was not done even after making a special trip to reception to obtain forms and understanding of their proposed laundry procedure. Laundry was only completed after an argument with reception. The hotel stay was not good because although the hotel is great but management is very poor
Location was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was excellent - very clean and comfortable.
Excellent location for tourists. Front desk staff lacked smile, and not very helpful apart from the very basics.
Central location, clean rooms, well working aircon Staff at reception was too formal, no way to get a smile...Breakfast is out of wack for a 4* hotel, internet should be free and not at euros 20/hr...
they upgraded us to a suite too close to trevi fountain so there were too many people up and down the street; chose because breakfast was said to be so good-- we have had better.
Closeness to city centre; still quiet and cosy Reception personnel a bit cold; other personnel very friendly
extremely close to all points of interest in Rome city including all classical sites. Reasonably quiet, if that is at all possible in Rome. The restaurant was not appealing to us: the prices were quite high, the service was slow and it was right next to a major traffic artery as well as the to the foot pass leading to Fontana Trevi.
The hotel was in an excellent location. The memory foam beds were extremely comfortable. We especially enjoyed the private patio. The bathroom was not clean. There were dirty fingerprints on the wall and even a bloody one. Breakfast food was very good but the waitresses were very impatient with guests when the coffee machine was out of order.
Location was great. Room size for Europe was very good. Had room with terrace which was nice. Will stay again in future and recommend highly to others.
Loved the location, right downtown in the centre of shopping and fashion in roma. Especially loved the fact that they were able to have my room ready for me when I arrived at 8:30 am for an very early check in at no extra charge. It was wonderful to be able to shower and relax after the long flight.....
Great Location and the gal at the front desk was very helpful and nice. Nice sidewalk cafe and great coffee! The bed and pillow were just so/so... no comfy down comforter or anything. Just a hard mattress.
The location, the room (actually an appartment was given to us!), the shops around it the noise from the street, very crowded and noisy... But once you close the windows it is a lot better!
It was close to many sites The air conditioner didn't work well, breakfast wasn't included and they charged us 50 euro to take us to the airport, and chrged us for phone calls that we made with a calling card.
The location was very convenient. The Staff was helpful and nice. It was too small for an " Executive Single Room ",there was not enough light, and the design was a bit outdated.
The location of the hotel is exellent. It was clean and the staff were lovely. The windows blocked out any street noise very well also Breakfast included would have been good but everything else was perfect!
Great location, comfortable, clean rooms. no
excellent location room was not comfortable, it was too small
great location, very friendly
We were very pleased with our stay at Hotel Homs. We had stayed there before the renovations, and our stay this was better than ever. The staff at the hotel was very courteous and extremely helpful. Can't think of a thing that we didn't like.
The location of the hotel was excellent. It was a quiet and peaceful retreat just yards from the hustle and bustle of central Rome. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
the personnel was really helpful
location is good We booked a room in the annex and was assigned to a room in the attic of the main hotel (referred as an upgrade "the Top Room" by the hotel staff!!). However, the Top Room is very small and half of the room and the shower has very low ceiling and it was impossible to stand up straight. We feel that the hotel purposely gave us a room which is much cheaper and inferior to the room which we originally booked and pre-paid. Hotel staff at reception was very mean, rude and unhelpful. Breakfast was very small and of poor quality.
It is a clean, well kept, small, boutique like hotel that is very conveniently located within 7 minutes walk to the Spanish Steps and to some of the top fashion stores, and the subway. Our price included a continental breakfast which was decent. Plenty of restaurants and cafes around. The air condition thermostat is controlled by the hotel staff, centrally and can only be changed by them, usually not very successfully. It was not a major problem but could be for others. Hotel sign is not very visible.
Location is great Basic room facilities and services
Fantastic location - clean (and big) rooms. We stayed in the Annex but its pretty close to the main hotel so wasn't at all a problem.
Easy access to monuments and landmarks Room too small
Close proximity to Spanish steps and the Metro station. Very convenient location. The elevator was being replaced. Hotel had a complementary bottle of wine waiting for us in our room.
Excellent location, close to restaurants, shopping, sights. Nice to stay in a small hotel Would be nice with a tea/coffemaker in the room.
Great location, 3 min to Piazza di Spagna, very comfortable for 4 people , tasty interior, stylish, very calm despite strategic location, I would certainly return. Very nice and helpful staff. Excellent (and cheaper) alternative to 4-5 star hotel for family with 2 teenagers or 2 couples Breakfast not worth price (15 eur).. Better have it outside. In contrast, free Nespresso coffee was great.
Via Margutta is the best location in Rome, Suite has lots of space and is very Comfortable, The Butler Basilio is very helpful and Friendly. Its the kind of place that you want to keep to yourself. We wanted to bring the bed home!!!! We will return and return as often as we can..i promise i dont know the owners!! NO!
Apartment 4 worked well for us as a family with 2 teenagers. Fantastic location. It provided a wonderful retreat from the city.We loved the modern interior design; the space and all the finishes were fabulous. .
The telephone in the room did not work outgoping or incoming. Despite our complaints, the problem was not rectified during our 4 night stay. We missed several incoming calls and had to use our cellphone for outgoing calls.
The space offered in the rooms There were no windows but the door, complimentary croissants presumably had to be ordererd and concierge services were poor
Wonderful design, location can't be beat and the staff at Margutta is top notch. We love the feel of this boutique hotel and will stay here again when in Rome. Difficult to find. Look for a gravel drive way on Margutta or ask a local, they may be able to guide you.
It surpassed our expectations - very quiet and nicely appointed rooms. It was so convenient to everything, but yet it didn't feel like we were in the middle of crowded and noisy streets. The butler was very helpful and accomodating. We booked 3 of the rooms and everyone had a wonderful experience. It was a truly special place and we would definitely stay at Margutta 54 again. Missing hairdryers, but the butler got us one on the 2nd day.
The hotel is located in the courtyard in one of the famous streets in Rome - Via Margutta. The hotel staff is efficient and competent, especially Lindon. He is the right man for this hotel. Of course the price was high, but there is no place like this in Rome.
The suite in which we stayed was superb. The locale was very up-market and the room reflected this. The calibre of furnishing was very high and design features were beautiful. The rooms were quiet and private and I will certainly book Margutta 54 for a return visit to Rome. We have visited the city on previous occasions but have found the ideal resting place in Margutta!
