Pros: The front desk service was amazing. They offered us a takeaway breakfast at 4:30 am since we have to check out before the complimentary hot breakfast was served, they were very helpful and offered the wake-up call we were going to need, they asked if we had a floor preference, and then, when we opened the door, the room was huge and spanking clean.
Pros: Hotel was clean.
Cons: Did not get a good sleep in the bed. It is expensive for what you get.

Pros: Incredible rooms and loved the penthouse patio and gym.
Pros: It said "Suite." I thought, "sure."
But it was a REAL SUITE.
A fully equipped kitchen. An ample dining table. A living room with with sofa and TV.
A huge room with two Queen sized beds.
Cons: The bathroom wasn't cleaned to my liking.
I sensed a trace of urine smell. But I have a very discerning nose.
Pros: Sure, we could have stayed at the Sheraton in Centretown (in fact, we have previously), but for basically the same price, we got a real suite: two bathrooms, a large dining/sitting area, kitchen, and balcony. Now, we didn't really need all of those amenities, but it was nice to sprawl out on the couch to watch TV and munch on leftovers from Good Eats (a great little restaurant down the street), rather than sit on our bed like we would at a regular hotel. The rooms were clean. The setting was quiet, even though we were still on the edge of Centretown. And the fitness center was quite good. If you like warm cookies or mood music in your lobby, then you might be disappointed. Otherwise, this is a very good hotel option to compare against the other downtown chain hotels, and a terrific option if you are considering an extended stay.
Pros: I have stayed at Albert at bay a couple times and enjoyed each stay. Never any problems. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Hotel is within walking distance of down town. I really love the kitchen and spacious spaces. This is a great hotel for families staying for a few days to see the city because you can offset the price of the room by having some meals, snacks etc in your room with the well equipped kitchen.

Pros: very convenient location, separate bedroom. Clean facilities and helpful staff.
Cons: Would prefer to have door between sink area and bedroom

Cons: The front desk staff was rude and very condisending, the staff at the morning buffet was also clearly not in a good mood and was very short with us when asked any questions over all I wouldn't return to this hotel due to my interactions with staff, which is a shame because it does have a good location
Pros: I loved the bed. It was super comfortable.
Excellent hotel. Great price for what you get.
Clean. Hardy breakfast.Good snack bag for later.
Pros: This was a roomy one bedroom apartment with accommodations for additional people to sleep in the living room (on the pullout sofa bed).
Cons: The kitchen and sofa were a bit dated but convenient.
Pros: Very nice place for breakfast along with excellent food. Rooms are very spacious; I had kitchen, two dining tables, a separate living room with two nice sofa beds and another separate room for the queen bed along with two 46 inch TV's. Awesome staff people.
Cons: Remote control for the TV's are a bit complicated but I got them to work. There's a busy bar right across the street which can be noisy during weekends.
Pros: Free breakfast and internet. Really huge room. Well located. Good price. Access to a full kitchen.
Cons: Mattress too soft. Couch not so comfy (and stinked a little). Breakfast sandwich not really good (but there's a lot more than that to eat for breakfast).
Pros: We expected a hotel room, but we got a small apartment with a full kitchen, dining room, and living room.
The amenities have been updated and were quite adequate. It is an older building and the hallways and elevators are dated, but don't let that fool you, the room was very nice.
I especially liked that they had very large screen TVs in the living room and bedroom on regular Rogers Cable, not the crappy Hotel system that won't let you watch regular TV in HD.
Breakfast was excellent with a large variety of options and EXCELLENT coffee. They didn't mention it, but there is a second room for breakfast across the hall on the other side of the elevators if the main dining room is crowded.
Easy walking distance to Parliament Hill, Rideau Canal, and the ByWard Market
Cons: The elevators are small, slow and cramped. Six people max per car.
Having to pay extra for parking, but it seems to be the norm in Ottawa.
The Business Inn puts you within a 10-minute drive of Parliament Hill and National Gallery of Canada. The restaurant is the perfect spot for a bite to eat, and after visiting the 24-hour fitness center for a workout, you can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. Conveniences like kitchens are in all rooms, along with pillowtop beds and LCD TVs.
Cons: Kids running around hote,l screaming well after 1100pm ,older hotel, needs updated.
Cons: They oversold the rooms. They did not have a room for me I had to sleep on a cot in a conference room!
Pros: Not only was the lobby staff friendly and engaging, they were extra attentive. The room with the Parliament view was fantastic and no details were overlooked -- linens, towels, cleanliness. Could not have done better for reasonable price or for greater cost.
Cons: Parking cost.
Pros: We loved everything!!! it was right in the center of everything, so walking was perfect.
Cons: there was nothing we didn't like.

Pros: Arcade pool and gym, and door staff, was excited to have dinner in lounge watching hockey game but a bit of a disappointment
Cons: We dont go out much so were very much looking forward to a relaxing dinner. It took over an hour to get 2 appetizers (crab dip and poa platter) while people around us arrived, ordered full mains after us, received meals and ate before we received ours. only explanation was that it was busy but doesn't explain others getting they're meals, same waitress. Also charged for 2nd pop my son never received. Left Hungary and thirsty. I know mistakes happen and usually never complain but didn't seem to get much empathy and put a damper on our rare outting
Pros: They provided a rubber mat for the tub very quickly.
Cons: The maids were inconsistent. One day they gave us shampoo etc. and one day they didn't.
Pros: Atmosphere was incredible
Cons: Was suggested that we upgrade our room for $30 so that we could have underground parking. Our truck did not fit in the parking so we had to park outside. We were not given any reimbursement for this. We would not have upgraded if we knew the truck wouldn't fit. The staff person was not even apologetic. We loved the hotel however would have thought there would have been something you could do to come sate not being able to park even though we paid for it.

Pros: Very accomodating and welcoming. Great location. Comfortable rooms. Mine had two twin beds with a kitchenette. Stones throw from everything in Byward Market. Parking was $15/day as on-street has 2-hour meters.
Pros: The staff were friendly, the location was perfect, breakfast was amazing. We will return!
Pros: The room and view overlooking courtyard. And the balconybreakfast
Cons: Breakfast - croissants were stale, eggs old
Pros: Location, Breakfast, Close to Public Parking, Service
Cons: Rooms a bit small, Small TV
Byward Blue Inn features a rooftop terrace and puts you within a 15-minute walk of National Gallery of Canada. Guests can enjoy the sauna, and hiking/biking trails and mountain biking are nearby. Conveniences like kitchenettes are in all rooms, along with flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.
Pros: Toured both museums, Went to ByWard market, hiked , watched changing of the guard, shopped, ate well.
Pros: Classic beautiful Hotel.
Friendly Staff, especially the health club receptionist, who was great!
Cons: Too old. Need refurbishing. Stained carpets, cracked ceilings, too many extension cords. Position of coffee maker hard to get to which makes making that morning cup a great hassle. Toilet we had in our bathroom was so close to the wall and door is in the way.
Pros: Great location right in the heart of Downtown Ottawa, really close to a lot of the sites. Staff is informed and professional, and the facilities (especially the pool) are world class. Loved it here.
Pros: Beautiful hotel; comfortable room; excellent location. Will definitely return.
Pros: Comfortable clean room. Friendly, helpful staff at Registration desk. Good ,prompt room food service. Friendly ,considerate room cleaning services.Clean air. Comfortable room temperature.
Excellent food and service in both eating areas.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Beyond expectations.
Pros: awesome! clean and friendly. perfect location.
Pros: Magnificent hotel and piece of Canadian history. Tremendous building
Cons: Although an extremely expensive proposition, rooms/some older pieces within them need to be restored or refreshed. A little old looking.
Pros: The location and history of this hotel left nothing to be desired. Luxurious hotel with friendly staff
Cons: They charge you for everything - They wanted me to pay .$50 a minute for the business center! If you come to this hotel and need to do work, bring your own laptop and be prepared to pay for the internet.
Pros: Pay extra for deluxe corner room. Worth it.
Fairmont Château Laurier is a magnificent landmark next door to the Parliament Buildings on the banks of The Rideau Canal. It is just steps away from a variety of museums and galleries. Located in the heart of Canada's capital city, it is in the style of a French chateau with turrets and a copper roof.
Pros: The suite was attractive, spacious, clean & very well equipped. The continental breakfast was excellent! The staff were very courteous and helpful.
Pros: Clean, quiet and very comfortable.

Pros: Nice enough, good location, valet staff friendly and organised. Shower was great.
Cons: Entrance to drop off very crowded, Bar closed at 11.15 they had no coffee and wouldn't make any, just a very strange attitude at the bar the ambience is more "what are you doing here" than welcome
We ordered a queen got a double bed.
Pros: The location and helpfulness of staff will keep bringing us back to the Lord Elgin
Cons: There is nothing to dislike. The hotel features first rate amenities within a fine old hotel that is maintained impeccably.
Pros: Very close to the canal for winter skating
Pros: Centrally located! Friendly! Helpful! Comfortable!!! Good rates!
Finally installed safes for the room!!
Cons: Bar and restaurant could have been open later with entertainment? Relax in Lounge after night out!!
Pros: Loved the location.
Cons: There's nothing to dislike.
Pros: I liked the location and the decor of the lobby.
Most of the staff are very friendly and professional.
The food in the restaurant was great and well worth the price.
Cons: My tv in the room did not work (no sound on the tv) It eventually got fixed, but took some time staring at the walls in the mean time.
The pillows were very thin and cheap, I would highly recommend buying somm good quality pillows that are firm so guests would get a better sleep.
At night I had little bites all over me, so I am not sure if I was allergic to the mattress or the laundry detergent they use.
The parking service is extremely expensive and it takes a long time for the parking attendants to move all of the cars underground to get to yours, so that is not a very modern or efficient system.
Pros: Great location to walk to all Ottawa locations!
Cons: Location, location, location!
Pros: Parking was expensive and it a long time to get the car. The Internet stopped before we checked out. Bathrooms could be better and are a little dirty. The blinds in the bathroom were very dirty. Bathroom should also have more towels.
Pros: The convenient location is the only redeeming thing about this hotel.
Cons: For years I have wanted to stay at this hotel -- I finally had the opportunity and was sorrly disappointed by the way I was spoken to and treated by front desk staff. I asked reasonable questions and said please and thank you and was treated with "...yes but you booked this on-line". As if to say I was not worthy of decent service because I booked my room on-line at the last minute." My room was not as described when I booked and I would suggest the Hotel Management double check what On-Line Travel Services are offering on behalf of their hotel - so that people are not mis-lead and then asking your snobby Front Desk staff about what was promised and then not offered.
I would have to say the price for a room is definitely not worth it. Rooms are dated and smaller than reviews and photos. The Lord Elgin did not live up to any of my expectations -- the Front Desk staff could do with better customer service training. However, BellMen/Valet staff and Housekeeping were delightful.
Ideally located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, overlooking Confederation Park and the National Arts centre. Lord Elgin is steps away from the Rideau Canal; the world's longest skating rink in the winter and a beautiful waterway in the summer; the Shaw Centre, Parliament Buildings, and Ottawa Rideau Centre.
Pros: Les Suites is wonderful if you have young children. The bedroom suite allows you to put your children to bed and adults can continue to enjoy their evening. The fully equipped kitchen is fantastic, children can have their regular breakfast etc. which helps with routine. Very close to market, shopping and tourist attractions. This is our second stay at the hotel and have been very pleased both visits.
Cons: Parking is a challenge. Very limited parking spots and if you drive a van or larger vehicle, may available spots are too small.
Pros: Great location and the 2 been suite was the perfect size for us and the price we paid. Service was great. It was very busy but that showed the quality of the hotel, people were there for everything: family, sports teams, young friends. We were treated well and had a good stay!
Cons: Some of our cups had lipstick stains on them and the hottub (part of the reason we decided on the hotel) was out of order but that's about it.
Cons: They had over booked, so we didn't get the premium sweet that we had paid for. They made an error when checking us in giving us a room that was already occupied, adding a good 30 minutes to our wait to get into a room. Usually you can chalk that up to a good story, but we had an ice cream cake that melted while we waited. We had hoped to use that time to decorate the room for a surprise party.
Pros: My family and I stayed at Les Suites for nine days and I loved that the suite was equipped with everything and there was lots of storage!!!!!! I could wash and dry our clothes, cook a meal when I felt like or bring home left overs and heat it up! The rooms are very spacious and were always clean and fresh, and the staff were very discreet, not invading your privacy. They were also very courteous when you met them in the hallways and elevators. The location of the hotel is ideal, walking distance to the mall and downtown Ottawa. I felt comfortable and at home. I would definitely be staying at Les Suites on my next visit to Canada.
Location. This Ottawa aparthotel is a block from Rideau Centre and two blocks from Byward Market.

Pros: During my five night stay, every single staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and polite, and unbelievably helpful. I've never been to any business, hotel or otherwise, where the staff have been so good.
The room had beautiful wall to wall and floor to ceiling windows. It was always very quiet. The AC worked like a charm, which was great bevause it was 30 degrees outside most days we were there. The gym and pool were nice.
On Canada Day the hotel let all the guests onto the top floors, which have a 360 degree view of the city, so we could watch the fireworks.
Cons: Not many complaints. There was no microwave in the room and the ice machine was located on the floor below mine. It wasn't as close to the downtown action as some of the other hotels, but it wasn't too far out of the way either.

Pros: The location of the hotel great and really in the middle of downtown. Being an spg platinum member has its perks as you get access to free breakfast, a printer and newspapers in the platinum lounge which is really nice and cozy.
Cons: Location being downtown and with all the construction work it was noisy early in the morning and late at night.
The fitness and pool facilities are great but it is certainly missing a sauna and hot tub.
Parking had to be valet and was 24$per day. That was very expensive and a huge upset that no free parking option was available.
Cons: the underground parking was too low for us to use

Pros: Very friendly staff, including suggestions for places to eat, help with parking and just overall making us feel welcome.
Cons: Pool and gym had to be accessed via lobby. Made it a tad uncomfortable to walk to pool in bathing suit passing through common area.
Pros: Liked the Bistro. Great for breakfast. Bed and room very comfortable!
