Cons: Found out the pool was closed for planned renovations only upon our check in. No previous notice. Kayak package didn't include park tickets; buying a cheaper package thru Kayak does not include everything that buying through Universal does TV in room didn't work. Had to complain twice and have twonvisit from engineering. After long day at parks (great days) disappointing to not be able to just relax by pool or in room

Pros: This hotel is super convenient for visiting the universal parks. Your room key is your express pass, which is a huge a bonus. Rooms size was decent and has keurig and mini fridge. Beautiful grounds, nice pool, friendly staff.
Cons: The beds/pillows are not very comfortable. While the pool area is nice, I wish there were a second “quiet,” or adult pool with additional hot tub. This hotel certainly caters to families, but not everyone has kids, and something less chaotic for relaxing would have been nice.

Pros: Great location, the staff is fantastic!
Cons: I had a wet spot on my carpet and found a hair on a "clean" towel. I think this was probably because they were so busy due to it being Christmas, because I've stayed here twice before and never experienced issues before. Still disappointing though, for the price you pay to stay here, you don't expect any snags.

Pros: Fortunately we were able to get a last minute reservation which turned out fantastic . Convenient, clean, helpful. Staff was very friendly. Included fast pass definitely compensates. Safety measures taken with hotel key iD's gave further comfort.

Cons: New bedroom decor is a disaster. Feels like a 70s nightmare and cheapens what used to feel like a luxury hotel. Same goes for the corridors leading to the rooms. The building of the Saphire Falls also ruins the outlook of the hotel. It used to feel like an idyllic South Pacific getaway. Now the view reminds you that you're just in another hotel block, so that special feel has gone. Lastly, charging to park in the hotel car park? Really? That really is fleecing your guests. over the years I've stayed at this hotel probably half a dozen times. I won't be back unless things change.

Cons: The rooms needed some maintenance, and I cannot be the first ones to notice it. There was mildew in the shower on the ceiling that needed to be bleached. The shower leaked into the bathroom, because the original construction did not properly angle the tile to make the water drain back into the shower. The sink stopper did not stay plugged. The phone in the room did not work. Again, I cannot be the first person to notice all these. Why have they not been addressed?

Cons: I made some recommendations when I made my reservation. We had three rooms and were told we were in the West wing close to the transportation, we ended up on the east wing as far away from the transportation as possible. They didn't do anything to rectify the problem, just told me that it was on the reservation but the rooms were full.

Pros: PBH was the best choice for our visit to Universal Studios Orlando. The restaurants were great. The one we went to had a musical that was an initiate source of classic italian songs. The room was over the top amazing (we stayed in the presidenta suite). The staff was friendly, accomodating and inviting.

Pros: Universal early entry and express passes are invaluable. Spotless hotel and pecable staff. Room clean but small (then again you are only in to a very short time).
Cons: Parking $23 + tax per day or $29 plus tax valet parking. Priced cleverly so you will opt for valet. Either way this cost is just a way of adding $ to your bill. Make sure you factor in an extra $58 plus tax per overnight stay. As long as you know to account for it when booking then it's more palatable.

Pros: The room and property were great! Love the décor and details at the hotel. My puppy, who came along for the trip received a welcome bag which included a very cute Hard Rock dog bowl. We would have loved to stay there more days since it was so comfortable and felt safe. The ease of getting to City Walk be that by boat, or walking was awesome! Also, for being guests at the hotel, we received complimentary Express Pass to both Island of Adventure and Universal. That was neat!
Cons: The only bad thing was Housekeeping...timing housekeeping to clean the room so it wouldn't cause a scene (barking, making the dog nervous) with our puppy was rough. We had come back from the parks and would wait up to 2 hours before we left for dinner. I called housekeeping to come in and clean the room, telling them that I will be out within the next 2 hours, so if they could send someone ASAP so we are with the puppy be that in the room or outside of it (the puppy would stay in the room while we would be out on dinner). No one ever came to turn our room over and we called front desk several times and waited the 2 hours. I guess housekeeping was MIA. So during our stay, we never got fresh towels and our beds was never made. Things could be worse though.

Cons: There was a mildew smell in our room. I was walking around barefoot and there were several large wet spots on the carpet. Really gross. So that explained the smell. We were in too big of a rush to get to our event to be able to request a different room.

Pros: While not the most elegant place to stay it is a great value if you want to stay on Universal property. Early admission and bus transport to park made All the difference in our Harry Potter experience! Pros: The theme of this property is really fun. From the lobby, to the pool, food court and rooms. We love staying here. Never have to wait long for a bus to the parks. My husband uses a scooter and everyone is always very helpful. I can't wait to go back. It's very comfortable with plenty of places to relax. Our last night there they were playing movies by the pool. So much fun!!!!
Cons: This is very minor, but I dislike the bedding. They use a flat sheet instead of a fitted. This complaint seems silly (even as I type it) but it was uncomfortable at 2 a.m. after a very long day at the park. But I love everything else about this property.

Pros: The lazy river was the most relaxing, after a day out. Buses to the Universal parks was handy. Nice looking hotel inside and outside. Security patrol on the parking lot at night time.
Cons: Had to buy the tubes for the lazy river, or bring your own. Staff just doing their job, but not make you feel welcome. There is no parking space available, when you check in or out, unless, you get lucky and find one, before someone else takes the short term spot. No business centre, been told at the desk, it's not a business hotel. All I wanted is to print out my boarding pass. Lucky, a lady on vacation, told me, the guys booking transportations, they willing to help, if I ask them nice, which they did. Not returning here any more, didn't make me happy and welcome. I can get that in any other cheaper hotel.

Pros: We loved the resort and room decor, cleanliness, friendly staff, fun pool with water slide and lazy river, and the suite was set up perfect for getting ready with three kids (separate shower/toilet/sink and mirror). It was in an excellent location with easy access to the Universal parks. Shuttle was quick and easy. Our teens (18, 17 and 13) LOVED Cabana Bay!

Cons: Nothing works in this hotel and the staff are rude. Fridge doesn't work, hot water doesn't work, heater is intermittent. The tiny windows don't open so the room is very stuffy. The beds and linens are not hotel quality. There are many many hotel choices in Orlando. One can get a much better room than this for the money and pass on their rude staff.

Pros: The theme was interesting and was somewhat identical, the main area of the souvenir shop, Starbucks, bowling area was really nice but that's about it.
Cons: The quality of the food was awful, would not call any staff member a cook, service was slow without a smile, towels by the pool laying on the floor everywhere, walk ways with many towels laying everywhere, plastic cups thrown on the floor, the usage of illegal marihuana was smelled by elevators at my building the Americana and hallways were filled with trays of dirt and smelly old so called food. Pros: This is our go to hotel for Orlando. We go twice a year and always stay here. It's a short walk to universal (20 mins). Pool gets the sun most of the day and there is plenty of space. The rooms have recently been redecorated and recarpeted. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Plenty of space for clothing for our extended stays. Hairdryers are good as is the shower. Maid service is outstanding and rooms are extremely well maintained daily. Staff are friendly and helpful. I love this hotel!!!

Pros: I loved that even though it’s a lower level Rosen, it still had the Rosen customer service, and cleanliness. I couldn’t be more happier, the front desk was so sweet and I called to see who cleaned my room and I believe her name was Nilsa and she did such a wonderful job. I also loved the views from the 9th floor I could see downtown Orlando, universal and surrounding areas. I usually stay at higher star hotels but this one had to be one of my favorites so far and it was so affordable and free parking.

Pros: The hotel was very well maintained and clean. It has been recently remodeled, and everything seemed fresh. The staff was very nice and helpful. It is very close to Universal Studios. We could see the Volcano directly across I-4 from our room. We were on the 9th floor, and the view was great.

Pros: They're in the process of completely redoing the entire hotel and what was finished so far was wonderful. The rooms were very clean and elegantly decorated. It was extremely close to universal and the restaurant on site was great. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Located near Universal Studios and I-4 (most direct route to Disney World). The best feature - a Giordano’s Pizza within walking distance. The hotel has an upscale, perhaps even a little gaudy and artificially pretentious feel. The rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained.
Cons: Perhaps because of the convenient location, the roads around the hotel are very contested, making it hard to get in and out of the parking. Parking is the other issue - there is not much, and what there is, costs $12 a night. There were 2 private events at the hotel the night we checked in, and the parking was over-full with abandoned cars blocking parking empty spots, and other cars which could not get out - a perfect nightmare. Finally, the hotel seems to be the location the chain uses to lure people to Orlando for their time-share presentation - "Stay 3 nights in Orlando for free if you attend a 45 minute presentation." If you are into timeshares, great! We are not. If we ever visit Orlando again, we will choose a different hotel.

We went to a local restaurant and came back around 3pm still not ready, waited in the lobby and at ten till 4 the room was STILL NOT ready. When we came back from the park, parking was full and we had to park in front of a tattoo shop in a strip mall. We had two rooms with only one car and didn't even have one parking spot. One of our rooms had th elight by the door blow out. The same room also had no shower curtain in the bathroom. We bad to share our shower with our friends because we tried to call the front desk and our room phones didn't work. We we waited until morning to let the front desk know because it was 2:30 am when we got back to the room and we all nust wanted a quick shower and to go to bed. No one felt like walking to the other building to complain. When I mentioned these things at the dmfront desk I was told ok we will send a maintenance man to check things out. I was a little shocked that no apologies or any kind of discount was offered for all of the inconveniences. Breakfast was a lot to be desired. We ended up leaving the hotel and going to a resturant for a hot breakfast. I think our experience could have been a lot better if we would of been In the front building with the nicer and newer rooms. Not sure that I would recommend this hotel or stay here again myself.

No maintenance came until I went downstairs and made sure I did not came up without someone. (one of the guys did not have his radio, other was on break). There was only one elevator working in my tower, which was turned off for almost the entire wednesday for a contractor to work on. (I left on the wednesday morning, though). The maids and employees were using the same elevator as us, which would get full easily because of cleaning supplies and bags from guests. Also, styre foam would get inside the room through the door bottom from the construction. There was no butter for the waffles in the breakfast buffet. BUT, it was cheap, I had a great time and my wife too! Thanks!

We were moved to another room a few doors down in the middle of the night without even an apology from the staff. I brought it up to the front desk staff the next day and was completely blown off. Pros: The deluxe 2 bedroom condo was great for 4 guests. It had all the amenities we needed. The rooms are a bit dated, but very clean. We were on the 19th floor with an awesome view, and had very easy access to the universal theme parks.
Cons: The catch with the lower price listing on this booking was having to sit through a 4 hour timeshare presentation of West Gate. This was a bit disappointing since we ended up loosing half of a day of a 5 day family trip on something we were adament on not purchasing. Also they advertise a free shuttle to theme parks which was one of the reasons we went there, at first we could not get on to this shuttle then we did get on it but it very rarely arrived on time and was very disorganised. The decor of the room was poor and the tower block that we were in was very dated. The staff on the reception desk were not very helpful or friendly.

Cons: I should of have gotten the hint when there were 2 people at the front desk next to us complaining about their rooms and how dirty it was!!!! Our room had a really bad stench. The carpets were dirty, there were no towels soap or any kind of shampoo or conditioner (even though I bring mine it's nice to see when you pay for a room). The worst part about the room was the bathroom the tub was absolutely filthy. I wouldn't even put a random stray cat in there to wash!!! Just filthy. Toilet seat had hair on it!!! Overall horrible experience will never go there again Id rather fly to Afghanistan and sleep in a hotel there before I go back to this place!

Cons: The room was not what I was expecting. The outside and inside looked more like a rundown motel than a ‘resort’ like their name suggests. There seem to be no insulation between the walls or outside because I could hear conversations clear as day. There was a dead bug and stains on the sheets, hair on a face towel, and water stains on the ceiling. Sad to say, I won’t be returning to Avanti and can’t recommend it.

Cons: Do not stay here. The rooms are not what the pictures show. The fans do not work in the rooms (we stayed in 3 diff rooms). The motor in the fans were broken and kept us awake. The food in the restaurant was not good (especially the breakfast). The lowest standards Ive ever seen in a hotel. Please never stay here. I paid a lot of money for these rooms $70.00 for nothing basically).

Pros: The rooms were clean and prepared and the shower/bath had nice water pressure and hot water right away. Plus the AC worked well. They also had three different density pillows, which is a great plus as most places have only one size and often it's too big for me.
Cons: The building wasn't brand new so some things were as expected, such as the door in the bathroom would stick on the tile so you needed to push it through harder. NO problem.

I reserved a single king size room got a double with queens, complained and was told we are all booked up and I could always come back the next afternoon and request a room change which I didn't have time to do. Shower had little to no pressure. Hallways and balconies were cluttered and dirty. Elevators slow. Just overall would ave had better service and time and value for my money if I had stayed at a motel 6

Cons: None of the elevators were operational and we were in the tower on the 8th floor. Notified the desk and no one ever came to resolve the issue or offer assistance, Front desk attendant had an attitude from the moment I stepped up. Took 45 minutes to get me checked in cause they couldn't find my Kayak reservation. Shower head 5ft. from the floor...I'm 6-4 ....When you remodel a hotel, don't be a cheapskate..update the fixtures to todays standards.

Cons: Didn't get the room I booked and they did nothing to even try to accommodate me, booked pool view...got dumpster view, room was in horrible and old condition but organized, broken outlets, waited in line for over 30 minutes to check-in, had to park on the complete opposite side of the entire hotel area because parking situation is horrendous, despite 3 elevators, only 1 or 2 seemed to be working and they took very long, easier and faster to take the stairs, which were filthy. Pictures are very deceiving! I will be writing to the hotel manager/company as well. Very disappointed, feel robbed of my hard earned money. At over $120-some odd dollars per night, I expected more.

Pros: There was mold everywhere, the mirrors had black streaks all over them. The ice machine did not work and the room smelled disgusting. The pictures of the "resort" online were nothing like what we stayed in. I would advise to never ever here. it is disgusting. Old, dingy and not worth the money.
