Pros: My family and I were out late at the parks catch, so it was nice to be able to come back and use the 24hr marketplace for small food and drink before bedtime for our son.
Cons: Upon arrival Friday night, I noticed a Comet spray bottle left on the bathroom counter from housekeeping staff. I went and placed it in the closet out of reach of my five-year-old child. Early the next morning before departing for the theme parks, I presented this issue in person to the front desk staff. They were empathetic to the situation and said that they would put in a maintenance request to have it removed. The front desk staff member however, asked me to go back up to the room take it out of the closet and put it on the sink. I advised that my wife and son were already waiting at the valet for me. When we arrived back at the room around 9:00pm it was still not removed. As an alumni of the UCF Rosen School of Hospitality, I was surprised that the front desk member would ask a guest to do the work for them or be inconvenienced of their plans, and that there was no execution of the task in a timely manner.

Pros: - Great front office staff - Excellent concierge - very fast elevators - The coffee in the room was great - TV in mirror was great (yet it did not change channels or volume correctly) - housekeeping evening service was excellent when I called for more water and coffee - comfortable bed - fast operator responses and efficient over the phone - centrally located near OCCC. A lot of walking is needed as the area is massive - Great restaurants near-by - beautiful pools yet the weather was unfortunately too cold to swim
Cons: - Took a long time to get hot water in the shower during my 4 days stay. - Bathroom cleanliness was not the best I have seen. I always noticed an odor and felt it was not fresh and fully sanitized - The TV in the mirror did not work correctly and seemed to hang up when i try to change the channel or raise the volume - I had mold in the shower grout, yet this was fully cleaned on the 3rd day I was there. - safe battery was weak and barely opened to get my stuff out. Then it did not work afterwards. - TV had an issue and did not work on my 3rd night. I called it in yet I did not get a tech within 50 minutes to fix it and i had to sleep in the afternoon before going out. When I returned late at night the TV was fixed. .

Cons: too many"extra" charges--taxes, resort fee etc. Too big and corporate feeling--i felt trapped in there there was a long line to check in the steak house was extremely pricey but cookie cutter...we were two women (model & writer) the sharpest people in the room and they stuck us at a dark, table in the back of the room and offered us the stingest wine pour I've had in years for a $12/glass wine. there was no charm or authenticity, felt totally impersonal staff were okay but acted more like hourly-wage employees (ie: didn't really care or seemed to have no idea what hospitality really means) perhaps it was b/c it's spring break, but the other guests were poorly dressed and lacked manners I would take a charming and well-run inn with less bells and whistles, but a decent chef, bartender and some personal touches over this any day

Pros: The hotel room was good with most amenities provided. The swimming pool was large enough for adults and families with kids to enjoy within the same facilities.
Cons: Despite all the good qualities, this hotel experience was ruined by the nightly resort fee of $20 charged during checkout. As far as I read during the booking process and the Terms and Conditions, this nightly resort fee is not mentioned anywhere, and guests believe that the amount that they pay through online booking sites are the total mandatory fees, with only optional incidentals charged during checkout. This is deceitful to the guests. Either include the resort fee in the upfront charges or state that this charge is mandatory and will be applied during checkout.

Cons: the a/c did not work in our room, it kind of smelled like old smelly carpet party because the room was hot. when they did come to fix the a/c they said we would have to pop open the front panel on the unit to change settings because the wall control did not work. we also set the do not disturb button and at about 830 am house keeping tapped like crazy with what i think was there keys and when i opened the door they said"oh your not up yet" and walked to the next room and started tapping. when i pulled in front of the hotel to check in while my wife sat in the car the valet jumped in and moved it twice in the 5 minutes i was inside, there was hardly anyone in the huge driveway at the entrance.

Pros: I have stayed at several Rosen Hotels recently and this was one of my favorite hotels out of the Rosen family chain in Orlando. Id love to stay at the Shingle creek Rosen but its always out of budget but this hotel is well maintained, modernly updated with beautiful renovated rooms. This hotel has many amenities including a hotel pool bar, hot tub, Starbucks coffe, and a nice modern club although wasnt our style or that busy on the weekend we stayed. Very well worth checking this hotel out and the staff is very friendly and accommodating! Will def stay again!!!

Cons: Chose this facility for location first and amenities second. While the Matisse buffet was tasty, the brunch at the poolside area was not great. Had wanted better coffee, half and half, and real sugar in the room with the coffee maker, little details that make morning pleasant. But, we were unable to visit what looked like a very nice coffee bar downstairs. Next time we will order breakfast in the room and bring real sugar and creamer if we stay again. Beds were very comfy, staff was very kind. A few details were odd like the toilet paper holder was broken, and the tub drain was broken. But everything was very clean and the shower was nice. Overall a good experience.

Pros: I liked the lake around the hotel and that it was 10-15 minutes away from the Orlando International Airport. Also, they have free shuttle bus service to the airport every half hour during day and every hour at night.
Cons: There are so many things wrong with this hotel, esp for the price they charge: 1) No fridge or microwave 2) Linens and towels often had stains even when changed every 3rd day 3) Mattresses and pillows are not comfy 4) No fresh air in room nor any scents placed so room smells stale and musty 5) Parking is $14/ day extra, breakfast buffet is $18/person 6) There is usually a wait for the breakfast in the morning. It's faster and cheaper to go to the IHOP, a 5 minute drive from hotel. Basically, not worth your money at all! They charge like a 5-star but are worse than a 2-star hotel. You can pay less and easily get more amenities at any less fancy hotel. It will be cleaner and more relaxing.

Hertz car rental on property (but the desk is open only during the day).

Shower drain was clogged and nearly overflowed the shower pan (about an inch high). Drain is hidden under a chrome plate and it was clogged with hair ang gunk--GROSS.

Very clean room, bed very comfortable and pristine (I check beds in hotels for undesirable surprises), and Hampton was a pleasure in cleanness, good service. The price was excellent too. Pros: The villas were wonderful. There’s a gorgeous bathroom with a multi-head glass shower and a hug bathtub. The mirror even has a TV in it. The bed is super comfy and there’s a sitting area and a back porch. Way more than I was expecting for the price. The staff was wonderful too. When you check in they even offer cocktails and sodas which came in handy after the long drive.
Cons: The only complaints were that the phone next to the bed did not work and the remote control for the TV in the bathroom seemed to need a new battery. Neither one was a problem as I knew if it really bothered me I could call and have them fixed quickly.

Pros: Our family loved staying here!! We stayed one night when we first arrived in Orlando and then stayed at another resort hotel down the road due to a conference. As soon as the conference was over at the other hotel, we rushed back to Caribe Royale because we loved the King Suite room! Great space and there was also privacy because a door divides the living area from the sleeping area. Our family loved the pool areas too. Fun slide! Customer service was great and the price was affordable. We will stay at Caribe Royale again when we visit Orlando.

So I ask they person at the front desk how much is it he advised me it is $8 for self parking and $12 for vallet. So I think what the heck I'll just take the vallet on the first night I waited in line almost 30 minutes to have valley come and get the vehicle. Then the following day waited about 20 minutes for the vehicle. The front desk person the day of check out did not have the best of attitude you would expect.

Every one you asked who worked there said they would send someone over but no one would ever come . Everyone at the place was complaining about the service . I had to switch seats at the restarant because I was tired of hearing someone was coming and by the pool I had to make believe I was sitting in a different section to get someone to help me . Then when you finally get the food it was high priced and poor value , salad at the cafeteria was better. Someone needs to fix the problem because it takes away from your day at the pool .

Cons: The only bad thing was the parking. The property is kind of large and the driveway circles the property, and is one way traffic with a gate and 5 mph. So if you are in the last building, like I was, then you have to putt putt around until you get to your destination. I came back late one night after Halloween Horror Nights and putted around only to find no parking in front of my building, so I had to go against the traffic to find an open spot. A little annoying, but everything else was good.

Pros: Great location for conferences, shopping and dining on International. Easy to walk to many places. 20-30 minute drive to Disney parks, unless there's bad traffic which there often is in Orlando, then can take over an hour.
Cons: No comforter/quilt on the bed, just a sheet and a thin blanket. Walls and doors are very thin and doors lead to outside so it's very loud at all times, especially with the helicopter tour company across the street. Constant helicopter choppers whirring, car horns honking, kids running, drunk people shouting, etc. I put a "do not disturb" sign on my door for the whole weekend but someone removed it on the morning of check out and I was woken up at 8 a.m. by someone wanting to clean my room. I can't imagine why someone would have stolen that sign off my door during the night (it was there late the night before and had been there all weekend), so I'm pretty sure the cleaning team removed it on purpose to have an excuse to wake me up and get me out of there early. Check in is VERY late at 4:30 p.m. and check out is on the early side at 11 a.m. They want you in and out! Security is a joke for safety but is extremely inconvenient for guests. You can't have cabs or friends pick you up or drop you off in front of your room. You can't have food delivered to your room so I had to walk all the way to the front lobby (a long walk outside) in pajamas in the rain while in the middle of watching a movie to pick up my pizza (which I then had to carry back to my room in the rain). You have to park twice when you check in because of security and when you leave it's nearly impossible to drive back to the lobby to check out for the same reason. This might all be ok if it actually felt remotely safe but of course it isn't at all. The security gate is often just propped open and almost every time I walked past, the security guard was reading or watching TV on his phone or on a smoke break. Not to mention the fact that there's a walking path that leads directly to the rooms from International Drive without passing the security station. The bathroom is so tiny that the door almost scrapes against the toilet bowl when you open the door. It's very difficult to climb in and out of the bathroom (yes, I said climb). The beds and pillows are extremely uncomfortable so I spent the weekend with a sore lower back and stiff neck. The doors to the hotel rooms stick and are incredibly difficult to open. It was an ordeal every time I came in and out of the room. The a/c has only one setting - arctic circle cold. If you try to raise the temp to 74 or so, the heat kicks in. Did I mention it was 100F outside? This is summer in Florida. I would have loved the arctic chill if there was anything more to over me than a thin sheet and tiny blanket. Overall, the location is convenient if you want to be on International Drive and the price is reasonable but it's not worth it for the (lack of) quality unless you are really, really strapped for cash (and then you're going to have trouble enjoying Orlando).

Pros: Very close to Walt Disney World. Perfect location for visiting Celebration. We had a 2-bedroom unit, which was excellent. Each bedroom and the living room had a flatscreen TV. The wireless internet worked perfectly here, if you bring your own tablet or phone. We were on the 4th floor- great view. My bed was so comfortable- the bed and pillows were excellent. Kitchen was great- we cooked breakfast every day. The staff was friendly, from he front desk to the concierge to the housekeeping- all nice. I would recommend this place to friends and family.
Cons: One thing that was confusing was that with the card key that they give you, you can enter the pool area from the gate which is outside the office in front, but you cannot go back out the same way. To get back to the parking lot, you actually must enter the main building which has a bar and the front desk. They didn't tell us that at first, so it was confusing figuring that out. Minor issue.

Cons: Room was not 100% clean. HVAC in the room was designed poorly so during the night we would get woken up by the unit fan coil cycling. Sanitary drain for the toilet had an issue with the piping in that when you flush the toilet it would keep sucking air for a good 5 minutes, was just annoying to listen to. While room had an echo like it needed more pictures or something on the walls. Corridor was bleak. Parking was horrendous.

Pros: This was our first time staying Melia. The staff were super attentive and very pleasant. We spent some time both at the pool and the bar and were never disappointed. 360 was also a bit surprised. The food was excellent and diverse. Their pizza, cooked in a open fire oven, was superb.

Cons: TVs were terrible, taking 5 to 8 seconds to switch channels, very frustrating when you're tired and just trying to find something to watch. AC was quite loud. Building interior felt a touch old and worn.

Pros: The deluxe 2 bedroom condo was great for 4 guests. It had all the amenities we needed. The rooms are a bit dated, but very clean. We were on the 19th floor with an awesome view, and had very easy access to the universal theme parks.
Cons: The catch with the lower price listing on this booking was having to sit through a 4 hour timeshare presentation of West Gate. This was a bit disappointing since we ended up loosing half of a day of a 5 day family trip on something we were adament on not purchasing. Once all was said and done we had to improvise to complete the rest of our day, since it was to late to get a start on the activities we had actually planned for.

I proposed to my boyfriend there and he loved it. We couldn't stop talking about the design and decoration of the room. Chad also suggested good food places to eat. Again thanks Chad you and EO Inn were perfect.

Cons: We were surprised at check-in with a $10 resort fee that was not included with our Kayak booking. The fee covers things that should be included with the room rate (like use of the pool, exercise room, and internet), and which we didn't even use because we were only there overnight. Aside from that, rooms were noisy because hotel is right next to the highway. It is a 5-story walk-up with no elevator, so don't bring too much luggage. Rooms and facilities are dingier than they appear online. The place is not horrible, but there are better places to stay in the area in the same price range (especially after adding the resort fee).

Cons: I found a great price through Kayak but they only care for you to purchase a timeshare. If you choose not to purchase, you may not stay at any Westgate for that same value price. On top of that, the free breakfast at the timeshare presentation was horrendous. Don't bother drinking the orange or apple juice or trying the sausage and pasteries. We were promised it would last no longer than one hour but we were there for three. Parking to check in was a hassle. Not near enough spaces. Who wants to spend time in the "resort" atmosphere there when there are so many theme parks nearby. We also went to a separate vacation value presentation and tried to tell Carlos (an upper level manager hoping to close the deal) unless the offer was open ended we were uninterested at the moment. But he cut us off and said, "let me finished." So we let him explain and again said this wasn't for us. He hurriedly and rudely signed us out and was visibly pissed we didn't take his offer. Please don't stay here and waste your hard earned money on a timeshare that you'll end up paying 1.5 times more in interest. The interest rate is 17.99%. You wouldn't buy a house with that interest rate. Why buy a timeshare for that amount that you'll visit a month or less each year?

Cons: The restaurant at the resort has AWFUL service. It is a smoke house bbq joint with a pizzeria attached to it (that's the first warning sign). On my first night there, I called the Front Desk of the resort and asked to be forwarded to the pizzeria (the pizzeria does not have a direct phone number). It was about 10PM, and I spoke to a nice man on the phone and I ordered my pizza. The paperwork in my hotel room (supplied by the resort) says that the restaurant (both BBQ and Pizza) is open until 11pm, but will only deliver up to 10PM. Therefore, I placed my order in anticipation of picking up my food. When I got to the pizzeria at 10:30, the manager tells me she never saw my order. She then proceeds to tell me the ovens are shut down so she can't make a pizza, and she won't turn them back on. Then, she offers me a pepperoni pie that a customer forgot 4 hours ago for full price. I was like "Whatever" because I was starving, and she goes to retrieve the pizza, only to come back with a basket of bread and says "we threw the pizza out so you can have the leftover bread from the BBQ side of the restaurant." So I left and searched for a McDonalds. On night two, I decided to give the BBQ joint a try. I arrive the BBQ side at around 7pm, and there is no host, nor anybody waiting for tables. A host magically appears from nowhere, and asked how many guests in my party. I reply "two". She says one moment, and disappears into the restaurant. She comes back and tells me there a 15 minute wait, but I can sit at the bar if I'd like. So I go to the bar, which faces the sit-down side of the restaurant. The place is EMPTY. I could literally count the number of guests at tables on one hand. After about 10 minutes, I go back to the host and ask for an update. She replies that it is going to be an ADDITIONAL 30 MINUTES TO THE WAIT. At that point I left; this restaurant doesn't know how to resturaunt. The main lobby of the resort pushes this restaurant hard on its guests. The food might be good (I have no idea), but twice I've tried to give them money to eat, and twice they turn down my requests. I did not like the Free Breakfast to lure me into trying to sell me a timeshare. If I wanted to buy a timeshare, I would have asked them about buying one. The grounds were kind of messy. I noticed garbage around the entire facility that never was picked up during my stay which was 3 days (beer cans, wrappers, solo cups, etc.). The room wasn't super clean. It wasn't messy, however minor little things went overlooked by the cleaning staff.

I called the front desk back and they said they will see what they can do. After waiting another 20 mins, they gave us another room. When we move to the other room, there was no parking and the AC in the room was not working too well. This has now been over an hour since we checked in. I requested to cancel my reservation and a full refund. They informed me that I had to contact Kayak for that request. I was on the phone with Kayak for over 20 mins and they had to contact the hotel to request authorization. After two hours, the reservation was canceled and now it was close to midnight and I had to find another place to stay. You get what you pay for.....

Pros: Me and my boyfriend suddenly decided to take a trip to Orlando. We had never been to Universal Studios, and Westgate lakes seemed like the best option. It was really cheap, there were good amenities (pools , mini golf, restaurant), and there is a shuttle to Disney and universal every morning. We booked a studio villa and it was nice! We requested a remodeled/ waterfront room (we highly recommend this, otherwise you could be in the middle of construction or facing a highway). We got a bottom floor villa and it was a standard room with a kitchenette, king size bed, flat screen tv, shower and a jetted tub. And best of all it had and amazing view!
Cons: First of all, this hotel looks like someone once invested a lot of money into it, but then ran out of money because it outgrew itself. There are so many units and the whole resort is massive. I think if they had more money it could be a 4/5 star resort. We did have some issues with ants, but that's expected on a bottom floor unit. THEY ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. I just want to make sure everyone knows this because even after reading reviews I somehow didn't know that. That's probably my bad but I just want everyone to be aware of this before booking while they are under construction. Obviously things are more hectic and awkward because of renovations and road blocks. It once took us 20 minutes to drive from our unit to the lobby. But other than that, this is perfect for people looking for the resort experience on a budget. We had a fantastic time just spending time on the resort. They even deliver pizza. That's aweomse.

We got up to find several baby cockroaches in the bed, under the mattress and on the floor. After that neither one of us could even think of sleeping. We called the front desk and they sent someone over to help us move. Our new room appeared bug free, however it was pretty dirty and even more outdated. There was obvious debris on the floor and old towels in the bathroom. But at least there were no roaches! The next day when we checked out the receptionist didn't say anything about the room change or our roach problem. We had chose Westgate because my husbands parents are owners and generally have good things to say plus we were on our honeymoon and wanted to stay at some nicer hotels. We probably will not go back.

The above items are fairly minor. The main detractor in this hotel was the "Tour" staff. Upon check in, we were told that we had to leave a $20 deposit on our credit card to hold our place at a free breakfast. At the free breakfast, there would be a 60 minute presentation about the hotel then for sitting through it we were to receive a $75 discount. Well, the first day of our stay we showed up to the tour desk at our allotted time only to have to reschedule for the next day after waiting a half an hour. The next day. we showed up 15 minutes early and were kept waiting for over 45 minutes while tour staff rudely questioned us in a berating manner about our marital status, our employment (my boyfriend is self-employed) and our income level. They copied our identification then kept us waiting 20 more minutes until I explained that we had to leave as we were now running late for a convention. We were then told that the presentation was going to take another hour not including breakfast. We then decided to get our $20 deposit back as well as the copy of our ids. The salesman said he could quickly go through the presentation then asked for our company names, addresses, employment history and telephone numbers so they could call to verify employment as he had 20 state offices he had to report to. We then reiterated that we just wanted our deposit back. He gave us a voucher to receive our deposit but we had to insist several times that we wanted the copy of our ids back as well. He finally ripped the application in half and shoved us the portion with our ids on it at us. Needless to say, we never did have breakfast.

Pros: I am not sure why I have read any negative reviews regarding this place. Our experience was great and you simply can’t beat the excellent accommodations with spacious rooms for this price. While this resort offers timeshares, we were NEVER harassed or annoyed by any staff regarding this at any point. We were treated excellent for our entire stay and all staff did an extraordinary job making our stay awesome. Yes, the property is large but you can contact or wave down a complimentary resort shuttle any time you want. Our room was HUGE, and I was completely satisfied our entire trip. The place is very well cleaned and maintained. Staff is highly responsive to any request. Will definitely be staying again when traveling to Orlando. Highly recommended!

The facility overbooked and ran out of rooms, rather than try to rebook us at a different hotel or give our money back they kept telling us they were doing there best to find us a room. Sadly we were not the only ones who were experiencing this issue, there were a number of families and couples sitting in the lobby waiting for a room to open up. Pretty big screw up. Manager offered absolutely no discount for having to wait an extra 12 hours for the room. The room we got had dirty bathrooms with hairs in the bathroom shower, stained towels, and dead flies in the jacuuzi. Obviously whoever cleaned this didn't do a good job. How this place is rated so well I don't know but I definitely will not be staying again!
