Pros: Very nice looking (marble, chandeliers, etc.), lots of amenities. Large rooms. In the heart of downtown. Good bar in the hotel lobby restaurant.
Cons: Not good value IMO. It was nice but there were several disappointing things in our short stay (see below) that I would have expected better considering the price. Service was prickly and unfriendly. The rooms were well appointed and large but I didn't find the value paying 3x for them. Pretentious... too fancy for me. Not a bad thing just know what you're getting. As an example, there's a harp player in the main lobby. One of the two bathroom sinks leaked at the handle and the sink didn't drain. It would have been obvious to housekeeping as there was standing water in the bowl but they didn't offer to fix it. I didn't complain because we were only there 2 nights and just used the other sink. Got coffee in the lobby restaurant...it was the worst coffee I've ever had. Smelled and tasted terrible. All of these things are relatively minor but for a huge price premium I expect a premium experience and didn't get it. I'll stay at a Double Tree or something comparable next time I'm in SLC.

Pros: Beautiful grounds and pool, Princess rooms, and very friendly attentive staff. Jack in hospitality greeted us, gave us great recommendations, and went above and beyond to make our stay welcoming and made us feel at home. Can't speak highly enough for the amaxing and genuine staff. Truely a luxury hotel with first class amenities.

Pros: Overall great stay. The room and hotel was very clean. Staff was friendly. Loved the large flat screen tv with direct tv. Normally hotels just have crappy cable and it's always a pain to change channels but this having direct tv was awesome. Loved the in room kuereg coffee maker with k cups. Definitely a step up from the normal drip coffee machines normally found in hotels. And if that's not good enough for you, Starbucks is literally right next door. Loved the fact the pool and gym is 24hrs. Although the indoor heated pool wasn't warm enough on the day I went in June but the spa was nice. The restaurant inside the hotel was a little over priced for what you get and breakfast isn't complimentary. Even so I would for sure stay here again.

Cons: They serve free breakfast and dinner! But if you're Jewish, you can't eat the food, LOTS of pork products, very disappointing. Won't stay there again since that is a perk of Homewood Suites. They could at least do chicken since everyone eats that!

Pros: most of the staff was nice
Cons: Head desk lady seemed annoyed with any family at the hotel she didn't hide it well she didn't like families there. The pool only stays open until 10:00. The rooms lighting is annoying the bathroom lights wouldn't work for some reason, the glass sliding door into the bathroom was horrible once it was shut it would take me a grown man to open it for the kids and my wife. Breakfast was so so, there is much better breakfasts out there I have stayed at the Hyatt House just 20 minutes away from the hotel and it has better amenities and breakfast. Also two of my children forgot toothbrushes so they went down to get one and they charged them for a toothbrush I mean for $160 a night that is ridiculous. Also we pulled out the hide a bed and there was a huge hairball from the wash or something it was pretty gross.

Both upon my arrival and upon my departure a police officer was stationed in the lobby with his squad car in plain sight just in front of the entrance. Any hotel that feels the need to have a uniformed police officer (not a security guard) at their property with that kind of regularity, causes me concern that the hotel is unsafe. For this reason alone I will not stay at this hotel again.

Breakfast in the morning was great with a nice selection and plenty of food to fill you up. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. Even though you are downtown, the airport is only a 5 minute drive away.

Pros: This hotel was perfect for our 2 night stay! Room was clean, modern, and well maintained, not to mention very spacious. Beds were extremely comfortable!! Service was friendly and helpful and the hotel is very centrally located and easy to find. Free breakfast was a nice perk. Our room was on the 3rd floor, north side, and was nice and quiet. Great value, I would definitely stay here again.

Cons: No vallet parking created a bit of a delay, and a problem for a handicapped person. Getting a taxi within 30 minutes proved impossible, so we were late for dinner reservations. Breakfast vouchers required too early of a meal, as this was Friday morning after a late concert at Vivint; so we missed the breakfast that came with our room rate, very disappointing! A parking voucher was meant to be helpful, but did not even cover 24 hours! So we ended up owing $10 for parking when we left the garage 18 hours after pulling in. Three separate times before 11am check out housekeeping staff knocked or tried to enter our room. This was disturbing and disruptive to a restful morning.

Pros: The location of the hotel was outstanding. Literally across the street from the sports arena and just a block away from the Salt Palace convention center. In addition, the staff was always very attentive to whatever we needed and whatever questions we had. So while it was a business trip and I had zero say as to where we were staying, I was very impressed and would absolutely stay there again next time I'm in SLC.
Cons: It was a new hotel (I think 5 weeks old) when we stayed so they were still working out the kinks. The room phone wouldn't work except for when on speaker phone, the thermostat unit wouldn't drop past 70 for the A/C setting and the position of the shower head to the shower door created inevitable run off onto the bathroom floor (nothing a towel couldn't soak up but, you know, still a curious choice). But those are very nit-picky things and will easily be overlooked the next time I'm in SLC because I will be staying there.

Paying via priceline was $40 more than the hotel website advertised. On a night when the hotel was nearly empty, we were given an awkward corner room that was poorly lit and the size of a closet. Front desk was nice enough to "upgrade" us.... to a smaller and darker yet equally uncomfortable corner room. The robes were threadbare, faded leopard print, and gross. It was so terrible that we questioned whether we were on Candid Camera. I've been a lifelong Kimpton devotee but never again. There are so many great hotel options in SLC. Don't waste your time or money here.

Pros: My fiancé and I were on a road trip from Montana to California and needed a place to stay last minute, so we checked kayak. We booked Little America on the freeway exit into Salt Lake with little expectations but we're pleasantly surprised by the convenient location and experience. It was very clean and comfortable. The pool looked nice as well. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Salt Lake.

And anyone who knows me personally knows I love old people but the hotel is more so fitted to an older age group. Also the rooms were very small for what I paid for. On top of that I originally booked a room with a King bed I was told my room was not cleaned yet mind you it was almost 5pm. So the lady at the front Desk said she'd "upgrade" me to a two queen room with a balcony and a "view". WRONG our room was facing the back of a building, no view whatsoever. Pros: The location was excellent and the facilities were very nice. The young man who first met us as we drove up was very, very friendly and helpful.
Cons: We had trouble getting connected to the Wi-Fi. When we did (with the help of their out-sourced IT) it was a very weak signal. Also, when we got to the hotel, the place seemed a bit chaotic with wedding guests, wedding parties and tons of people clogging the entry way.

Pros: Bed was very comfy and big for me, my wife and out 7 month old little boy. Staff was nice and helpful. Had a great view from the 9th floor. Location was awesome. For a last minute trip, this place a gold to stay at.

Cons: There was nothing good about this hotel and I would never recommend it to anyone. There were homeless people sitting in the parking lot the whole duration of my stay, the showers were filthy with dirt, the bedding was old and dated unlike pictured on several websites. I also noticed when first arriving we had no shampoo or towels and when I went to the front to ask for some they acted as if I were lying about the items not being in the room. The whole experience was a joke and I would never stay at a Rodeway Inn again.

Cons: Room smelled like smoke and heavy cleaning products. It looked like there was a knife fight in the bathroom. I went for a large conference in SLC and they raised the room rate up over 400% which made the stay just painful considering how terrible it was. At $40 a night then fine, I know what I'm getting, but at the inflated price point they're just robbing me. Also, you could literally get robbed at the Rodeway in too, so be careful.

I will never stay at this hotel again, it reminds me of a 2 star hotel with a modern feel. I would probably hire legitimate professionals in business attire to manage the front-end and not a bunch of hipster teenagers with no manners or customer service experience.*

Cons: Over all it was pretty terrible. There was no heads up about the construction and the fact that there was no room service. The lounge that actually provides food was way to expensive for the quality. We also asked guest services to bring up new shampoo, conditioner, body wash 3 times and no one came. Said breakfast was a part of the deal and got there and had to pay for breakfast. We thought by paying a little extra for the room we would have a better time and we sure did not. Will not be returning there.

Cons: - Floors were so dirty, they were never swept of cleaned. I wish I brought my own house slippers. It was disgusting! - Upon arrival, the coffee maker still had coffee in it. Housekeeping must have missed that detail...I requested another twice b/c they forgot to bring it the first time. The second time, the coffee maker arrived by way of an irate woman who made it seem like an inconvenience that she had to bring it to my room. On top of this, the one she brought was still DIRTY. I gave up and decided to buy my coffee off-property and that was an inconvenience to me. - Pillows were dirty and sheets felt unclean. To confirm my suspicion there were a pile of pillows at the hall by the elevators, they were all unbagged and just left there for everyone to see. Pretty gross to think that the pillows we put our heads on are just thrown on the floor only to be re-covered by linens when they had been touching dirty floors all day.

Pros: The best thing was the front desk worker Paige who assisted me check in. She was kind, personable, and extremely helpful.
Cons: The rug in the room had animal fur all over in it and bits of food. The shower was dingy and full of hairs. There was no sheer curtains in the room so I was stuck with the curtains closed the whole time. The room clearly had been “updated” recently but it seemed to be half hazardously done and corners cut.

Pros: The rate was very reasonable and the desk staff wanted to be helpful in this instance. But it was more than I was willing to tolerate.
Cons: I arrived for a night driving through en route to various meetings to the east. When I arrived, I did not expect a luxury hotel stay - I mean it's an econo-lodge. The neighborhood did not feel comfortable and I did not feel safe leaving any of my bags in my car for any amount of time. That said, checking in was easy after a few minutes waiting for others ahead of me in line After receiving the key, I headed to the room, which was in a bit of a state of disrepair. The light switches upon entering the room did not work... and when I started to look around the room seemed OK but not great (again guys, it's an econo lodge... not a hilton). But when I looked up and saw that the smoke alarm had been pulled off the ceiling I decided that it was a negative experience overall. The fact that a non-smoking room had whatever housekeeping staff go through it and a smoke alarm pulled out of the ceiling and light switches not working gives me pause for the overall condition and care of the rooms and location. I requested a cancellation and we worked together on that and I was on my way. All in all I think the management means well but I would not stay again.

Cons: The hotel had closed the pool area early due to a flood - which was not mentioned upon booking. They had water logged furniture piled up in the middle of the parking lot. The rooms were poorly furnished and there were stains on everything! The water faucets didn't work without being forced and lighting fixtures weren't functioning in either of our rooms. The vending and ice machines were not where they said they would be. The mattress had stains on it and the bed spread had cigarette burns on it. I was severely disappointed in the over all quality of the hotel - I expect at least the same level of cleanliness as my own home and this was certainly NOT anywhere close.

Cons: The lobby smelled horribly of mold and cat urine the room had holes punched in the walls and the mattresses were the hardest most uncomfortable beds ever. The floor would have been better if you could actually trust that it was clean. Don't be fooled by the pictures it's not even mediocre on a good day.
