I did not like it!! The hotel is completely overpriced! Reduce the price so it's consistent with the facilities and service you offer! The hotel, the breakfast, the minibar, the laudry is completely overpriced. You tried to cheat my on the breakfast by charging 20 BRL extra on an already expensive breakfast. When I asked why the guy said it was because of the cheese. So I asked him to remove it and come back with the cheese that was included in the price. And guess what - he came back with exactly the same cheese and a bill that was reduced from 85 BRL to 65 BRL! The water in the roomcost 19 BRL! My company pays the bills for me but I still care about the cost. The only luxurious thing about Caesar Park is the prices. Bad bed, stained carpets and noisy ariconditioning is not luxury.
Nothing..... Bad service, extremely expensiv,
I would like to stress the staff, specially Miss Larissa at the Reception (very attentive and competent) and Miss Mari (Supervisor) both of them are very capable professionals. Hotel is absolutely the best pick by Ipanema-Leblon beaches-seaside in Rio de Janeiro. Safety (My vault was violated).
The location was fantastic, just in front of the beach and had people taking care of you on the beach as well. The price was a little bit high I would say but in accordance with Rio's standards.
This hotel was very accommodating and made it easy to plan day trips, activities etc. free breakfast in the morning was very good. Very friendly staff. Excellent location
Concierge Rooms and front desk staff.
Because of the problem as below, they gave us a glorious suite on the 15th floor overlooking the sea for the 3 days and made the bathroom work for me (in a wheelchair) as best they could. Very upset the hotel did not recognise our disabled oceanfront room as booked and confirmed through you. A disabled room became available on the 2nd day but we refused it as it looked on to a brick wall.
Large, clean rooms. Well appointed and extremely convenient to both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches with a short walk. Easy access to metro and transport and plenty or restaurants around. Wonderful price for the area and more quiet than most as no clubs nextdoor. Walls a little thin and easy to hear guests especially when they come back from the clubs with partners!
Location was excellent, room very clean. When I arrived at the hotel they had already charged my first night to my credit card without pre warning.
View from rooftop terrace Noisy airconditioning, overpriced.
Close walking distances to both Ipamena and Copacabana beaches and shopping
Location, helpful staff, spacious room. Breakfast was not very good.
Location, friendliness and helpfulness of staff.
the location and the stuff speak english and some of them speak english and frensh. Realy a good hotel to stay in
Location was great They were painting on my floor all morning - loud, and it smelled really bad. No warning whatsoever. When I confronted staff the woman started screaming at me. I'm sorry, but you don't treat guests that way. She refused to help me or cooperate, and was so unbelievably disrespectful. Also- window didn't lock (unsafe) loud rooms And they get kickbacks from tour and taxi people. Kept trying to sell me over priced tours, hang gliding and private taxis that were all more expensive than the ones I had booked. Very forceful about it ... So weird.
The location is great as very close to Ipanema and Arprodoar beaches and a tad further to Copa. Our room was spacious and clean. A good price for Rio. Some of the breakfast items were not very good. Was best to stick to fruit and even then there were flies all around. Some of the staff were quite rude.
Location ıs the most important aspect of this hotel. You can get around very easily. The staff was very helpfull as well.
Breakfast was good (although that's kind of standard in Brazil). Rooms clean. I don't know if it's because I'm gay, or young, or was part of a mixed-race couple, but I was interrogated by staff every time I came in or out. I didn't see anyone else getting the third degree (or best case scenario dirty looks) from staff. Beyond being treated poorly, there just wasn't anything to this hotel aside from the *decent* location. The pool wasn't heated, the steam room was nonexistent, the bar was closed, the wifi was terrible, and forget about amenities like a gym. I stayed in cheaper places later in my trip, and really the only difference is the address. This location was good but not worth the price.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast,roof-terrace with pool and a wonderful view The A/C was very noisy -- otherwise everything just fine
A fantastic hotel. Service was impeccable, the rooms were clean, well designed and stunning views. A great location for Rio with a fun rooftop pool scene. It is expensive.
Rooftop pool and bar were spectacular! Above and beyond service-- you feel like you have your own personal assistant The courtyard rooms are a bit small given how expensive the hotel is.
Excellent location, staff were extremely helpful, beach across the street, great shopping close by. Very good breakfast included. Impanema is a very beautiful part of Rio.
Location, room, view Noisy outside on front side, small pool
my window looking at the Ipanema beach bad internet connection. impossible to work from the Hotel.
location breakfast room too small, its almost impossible to have breakfast.
I liked the proximity to the beach AND the central part of Ipanema. The breakfast buffet was very good. I also liked the size of the hotel and the room we stayed in. Hotel staff were kind, patient and helpful the coffee
Location, clean and big rooms, good breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff Breakfast room a bit small, pool also minute,no real lounge area
View, good breakfast, nice staff
Very good hotel and staff.Very, very, expensive,at least during the week that I stayed in Rio
It was clean , right off the beach , food was good , staff was nice , over all I would stay again A lot of staff didn't speak English, but they made it their duty to get what you need , expensive meals , and rooms
The location in Ipanema is great It's a very spartan, cramped hotel.
Hotel staff were generally extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were excellent. Very convenient location. Wonderful beach access. There was one staff person at reception in the evening who was rather unfriendly bordering on rude. But he was the exception.
I woulld like to congratulate every staff member in the Mar Ipanema hotel for being very proffessional , courteous , and there friendliness towards there guests . During my touring holiday of Brasil i stayed at many hotels during there peak holiday season and i rate Mar Ipanema hotel as one of the best , the location of the hotel is two blocks back from the Ipanema beach , 4 minuet walk and is located in the main shopping area of Ipanema with lots of posh shops .The room , bed and bathroom was very nice and of a good size compared with very small rooms i stayed in along Copacabana beach front hotels .Mar Hotel seems to run a seperate restauant which is used for the hotel guests breakfast and accessed from the hotel lobby , during the day was very busy with many trendy locals and the food was fantastic , again one of the best i had whilst in Brasil .The hotel security was also very good . Outlook from the hotel room .
Location. Lack of alarm clock
Room cleanliness. Location
Location! Good breakfast too. The facilities are medium and down. Very basic rooms, etc.
the location and the state and maintenance of the entire hotel
Clean, close to the beach, great roof deck, umbrellas and chairs for the beach, what more do you need?
The location is excellent, close to restaurants and bars, changed my view of Rio de Janeiro. My internet connection did not work the first night (Sunday) but staff fixed it on Monday morning. This apply only to those that needs to spend sometime in the hotel room during the day but the street in front of hotel is quite busy with lots of buses. I had to close the window at times to have telephone conversation.
The restaurant at the hotel and the room No
great location, very clean, tastefully renovated the hard beds
Location The most expensive delux rooms are on the third floor where street noice is too loud. Hotel has 11 floors, top floors are standard or superior rooms. We downgraded after first night from delux room to smaller superior room to get the 11th floor. You can still hear the street noice there but not as loud as on the delux room.
staff kindness, excelent room sevice, very good breakfast, and mostly excellent location the room was too noisy
Good location, fair value for money. Would recommend.
We had a great room (upgraded) on the 12th floor with a magnificent view along Ipanema beach and the view from the roof top pool towards Leblon beach was wonderful. We did not feel threatened at all and fell in love with Rio. We would recommend the hotel
Right on the beach Rooms were noisy, on s busy street with thin walls. Bathroom was terrible, felt old and unkept. Bed was uncomfortable. I am used to western standards, but for the rate in Brazil, it's a very expensive two-three star hotel. Food in the restaurant is horrible.
The view from the balcony was fantastic - Christ the Redeemer on one side, and Ipanema beach on the other. The breakfast area was tiny and enclosed, and the food not so flash. Staff in that area were not so friendly. The room was not quite as expected: The air con was very noisy and dripped water; there were strange cabinets that appeared to have been boarded up so we didn't have as much storage space as it looked like we could have. We requested twin beds and this had not been actioned on our arrival, however was rectified immediatly we pointed out the error.
Location, friendly staff and room with balcony facing the sea We had to wait our turn (10/15 minutes) to have breakfast as the breakfast room is too small for the number of rooms that the hotel has
It was in a terrific location. They need to upgrade their windows, since the traffic noise was pretty bad.
The location was great, not many hotels on ipanema so didnt have much choice. The Front Desk staff were not very pleasant. At check in we had o find our own reservation by looking over onto their desk at the list of arrivals. We were 'upgraded' and our room was not up to scratch at all. The rain leaked in through the windows.
On the hotel's profile it is written that there is WIFI, but it isn't so, payment of internet is apart and is too expensive.
amazing location, all the great trimmings that come with staying at hotel, helpful staff and goos service tiny bit old but I expected that and I would stil go back anyday
close to the beach and great/helpful staff wifi was terrible. didn't work in almost every place, but did have a business center...but cost money. for the money, the wifi should have been free and available everywhere!
The location I did not like the noise level from the traffic. Can the hotel provide Pizza on the room service menu, this will help us business traveller greatly who have little time to sit at a resturant sometimes.
The location is very good. Breakfast good. Room quiet (I had a room facing a backyard).
The breakfast is great There is no fire escape
Loved the attention from the staff, who were helpful in accommodating an early arrival and late departure. The location of the hotel was perfect; two blocks from the beach and within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the metro. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was tiny, but not bad for a short stay. The breakfast was disappointing when compared to other hotels I've stayed in Brasil, but not terrible. Check in process was a bit haphazard.
Value for monay and a locaion an old furniture
Helpful staff. Great breakfast. Location. Expensive for quality of hotel but you are paying for the location.
Perfect location. The rooms are very worn and need to be refurbished
Excellent service from start to end. A wide selection of breakfast choice and helpful staff
A clean and nice small hotel in a very strategic place, just a small walk from Ipanema Beach. Internet connection too expensive
The location and the price was very nice and the breakfast was excelent and it was great to find people from everywhere around the world.
Great location. Only 2 blocks away from Ipanema beach. Breakfast is good. Staff is friendly. Fabio is great! Facility is little outdated. Internet is not free. They charge R$15 for a day (only till midnight).
The location is excellent and is very close to beach and to many restaurants and cafes. The breakfast is quite good and is offered for an extended period of time for those who like to sleep in. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. The price is quite high for the quality of the hotel. The room was very plain but clean. If you are in the front, it is quite noisy. The price charged for internet service is quite high and by the minute.
Location Internet should be free! It was far too expensive. It should be possible to borrow an iron.
The location is very important for me. Being on vacation in one of my home towns I like to stay close to all friends and Barraca da Sonia @ Ipanema Beach Between Posto 8 and 9 The pipes running into the room. Every time some one flushes in the rooms above we would hear the water running through the pipes in our room...
Helpful staff and convenient location Pool disappointing
The location of the hotel, as it was very close to the beach, restaurants, shops and most of all in a very safe neighborhood. The bed and pillows were to soft for me and were not very comfortable.
The location-- one block from beautiful Ipanema Beach. The WIFI service was atrocious for a hotel at that level. No gift shop, tiny lobby, not great value for money.
Location, breakfast, restaurang, room, TV channels, roofterrace. The hotel is quite good, We will return. The staff at the reception was not very informed about Rios turistic attractions. Hotel offered me a cab to the Christ railway station for 35 real, we took a regular cab for 16,05 real. Do not bite the hand that feeds you.
Our stay at the Ipanema Plaza was excellent. When we arrived tired (without luggage, lost by the airline) we were offered a room already at 0600 although we hadn't expected to check-in until 1400. Staff at reception was efficient and spoke good english, cleaning was very good and the breakfast was delicious. Pool and Sauna (in Brazil!) at the top floor is highly recommended.
great service, great pool, fantastic breakfast, amazing beach about 100 metres away, english speaking staff, helpful and chatty
the proximity of the Ipanema Beach and Breakfast The building is relatively old and rooms could be very noisy easily. A party was orgnaized on the 16th floor and I could here the music and vibrations 9 floors below.
Hotel staff was helpful & courteous The hotel is listed and priced as 4-star but it felt more like 1 or 2-star with very old and weird color fixtures, stained carpet, very simple furniture, old CRT TV with vertical hold problem, phone with non-working one-touch buttons, alarm clock w/o battery & lying unplugged, no coffee/tea arrangement, a narrow stand-in shower (no tub), cheap shampoo/soap, etc.
Break-fast at the 23rd Floor! Some of the floors (like mine) are out-dated! And with little or no light at all.
Location very old fashioned rooms they felt like a time warp back to the 70's
Very professional hotel, well equiped with good roof top dinning area and good views over Rio de Janerio. Hotel rooms felt old and could do with refurbishment in order to reach the the correct level for this type of hotel. Even on the 22nd floor there is a problem with noise from the road below.
The hotel has great location. Close to the beach, restaurants and shopping areas. The rooftop seaside bar is also very nice. The room, though spacious, could use some refurbishing, specially the bathroom.
Best part of Ipanema neighborhood, close to the beach. overpriced for the room, bad air with a wind directly to te bed and weak. telephone suit wasn´t working.
Good helpfull staff, pretty good location Crappy room, more like a 2 and half star at best
the location was ideal, plenty of bars & restaurants nearby
Excelent location in the heart of Ipanema. A 2 star hotel for the price of a 4 star hotel. Mattress and carpets are old, windows do not open, air conditioned is noisy and does not work properly. Services and management are not efficient. It took 3 hours and to bring an extra soap to our room and 5 visits to fix the air conditioned. Hotel needs major reform and meaningful improvements in service.
The location is right next to the beach. Breakfast is free and quite tasty. Maid service is efficient. The disrespectful and threatening concierges, the room smell, the hotel being under noisy construction at 8am every day, the lack of flexibility vis-a-vis means of payment, price is generally way too high for the service that was provided. Overall horrific experience.
good staff, they speak english too. The hotel is pretty good compared to the price.
The hotel is ok. It was peaceful and is ideally located next to Ipanema beach, the beds / pillows were also very comfy. The hotel and rooms are very small and very basic. I don't think that it was worth the money paid as I also stayed at nicer hotels in Rio during my stay. As I was checking out the man on reception insisted I pay in cash 60 reas for the 'staff tip'. I had already tipped various members of staff for good service and refused to pay the 10% service charge. There is no sign or warning of this extra fee advertised anywhere, and in my experience its the first time a hotel has demanded it.
It's location Felt ripped off by them sneakly charging 10% service charge on top of the 5% tax. They also tried to get us to use their taxis which were nearly twice as much as regular yellow city taxis.
The staff were very helpful, friendly, and curtiuos, and most spoke some English. The location was excellent for the beach, shopping, eating, and arranging site seeing trips. The breakfasts were good. Nothing.
Very easy to get to the beach and other sights in Rio. The hotel is very basic, don't plan on spending a lot of time there. Great neighborhood. Perfect location. The prices are ridiculously high for what you get. I saw a local check out at the same time as me and she paid one third the price I did for one night. The recommended service charge when you check out is a surprise. There was no extra service provided by the hotel. They were not very helpful about tourist sights or costs of taxis, etc. No maps.
Location of the hotel is perfect. You have to be careful, the first night the gave me a very bad room, I complaint and they gave me a better one. Also the wanted to charge me extra taxes that are not included in the booking.
sea front rooms are the best possible spot in Rio de Janeiro poor decoration
Location the best I know in Rio Restaurant ambience and views perfect service dinner and breakfast excellent will always choose this hotel in Rio in the future.
Hotel's location is excellent, the room is comfortable, the staff is kind. Internet is payed, the restaurant gets packed with people at breakfast's time and there's not enough place for everyone.
Location. One of the less expensive hotels in Ipanema/Leblon Area. A room without sea view is awful....this is a no frills hotel, don't expect much than location
Stayed in a suite that gave that extra space that makes everything so much more comfortable when staying 6 days in the same room. Breakfast a bit limited for a hotel in this class. Very serviceminded staff.
Lovely and helpfull people, really nice. Small hotel but well organized and breakfast is good Rooms are really nice but dark due to no view and proximity of buildings surrounding.
Staff was great. They all speak English very well. Real close to the beach. The machines at the gym need to be updated.
The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I had a 10:00 p.m. flight. They stored my bags, offered the use of the shower at the gym, and pre-arranged a taxi. The gym. There was very little equipment and the gym was not climate controlled. Being in the open air made it very unappealing to workout.
The location was outstanding and the rooms were comfortable. Staff was friendly and most spoke English. there was some street noise at night from 2 taverns. These stayed open very late. Perhaps if we had a higher floor or a room on the other side, it would have been better. However, we were still able to sleep through it so it wasn't too bad. If you're a light sleeper, ask for a high floor on the east side perhaps.
The whole package was good. Breakfast a little limited.Value for money is difficult with the current rate of exchange for GBP. Most staff spoke good English and very helpful. Be aware that even in good areas of Rio there are always muggers about!
The people who works in the reception. they made me feel confortable no, I liked everthing
Very good location
It was agreed that payment was to be made on checkout, and that the credit card was only as a guarantee, but payment was debited on my card anyways, which made me pay one week before my trip.
The hotel location is very convenient as it is mid way from Ipanema and Copacabana beaches (5 min walk) and not far from Leblon where you will find many restaurants. The appartments are quite big and the hotel staff is caring. The facilities are quite poor (lobby, swimming pool...) and the noise level from the street is quite high (except for rooms ending with 7). The hotel is too expensive based on the given service level.
The location was great. I liked being so close to the beach that I could easily go for a jog in the morning hours. Lots of good walking and eating nearby. I wish the internet access was easier and that there was a US news channel on the television.
Helpful staff, friendly and spoke good English. The noisy air-conditioning and the very thin towels. Room designated as luxurious but far from it.
The lavatory had not been cleaned and was full of excrement
It was possible to stay until 2 p.m. the last day. The hotel provided free beach towel on request. Very close to Ipanema beach, around 50 meters. Big bed, Good breakfast for hotel standard. Our room only had a view to the backyard, but we used the room only for sleeping purposes anyway.
Very functional hotel at great location.
Good location, helpful staff, good-sized room. It doesn't have a restaurant but breakfast at sister hotel's 23rd floor restaurant is good and it's only half a minute away. Noisy at night but so is the Othon.
It was close to the beach, the staff was friendly and the hotel felt safe. I'm not sure we could do much better in Rio for the price. The plumbing was not great. Hardly any cold water came out of the shower so you either got an extremely hot shower or you had to adjust the water to a trickle. The toilet didn't flush very strongly either. And sometimes our bathroom door would not close.
