Pros: The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The bedding is excellent and the furnishings are all nice. The bathrooms are very nice too. Didn't have meals other than the breakfast buffet, which was the nicest I have ever had, in any hotel (previous stays U.S., Canada and Europe). Had never been to the Philippines and wasn't sure what to expect in accommodations. Manila Hotel surpassed my expectations by a significant margin. Has a feel of true luxury.
Cons: Some of the surrounding areas seem like they could be a little unsafe. This is not a criticism of the hotel, which is over 100 years old and has probably seen much change in the city. The hotel takes safety and security of its guest very seriously. Just ask them if you have questions about the surrounding areas. We did venture out for dinner and were careful. Keep most of your money in the hotel safe and don't be alone if possible. Bottom line is I will still look to stay here when in Manila.

Cons: The carpets are dirty and needs replacements. The lights are uneven. The old charm of the hotel has vanished. It looks old rather than historic. It looks tired and at time tacky.

Pros: One can be greatly impressed by the history of this building and the quality of the service and the outputs of the staff. The location was fantastic for golf and awareness of the center of Manila adjacent to the bay. Also near the US Embassy.

Pros: with our short stay here in Manila Hotel, I am very impressed with the quality of service that we receive. The staff went above above and beyond. My children are picky eaters and the drinks that they requested were not in the menu; however, they provided us the drinks that my children wanted.Their food pricing is average and fair. Also, without asking them they packed us breakfast to take it with us during our check out and this is like 2 AM in the morning. In addition, when it comes to security they are top notch. Before entering the lobby all handbags,suitcases should be screened by the x-ray machine that resembles the machines that the airport use. Furthermore, the lobby is fabulous and the their rooms is beautifully preserved which i think added to a certain ambience of colonial style. We enjoyed the live classical music show. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Cons: When you booked online, you need to know how their rooms really look like. They place me in the worst rooms (which was on the side of the hotel building). I have been in Manila Hotel a lot of times and I was very upset when I entered the room (smelly, dusty, old) does not look like what I saw in their website. you can asked for the manager and have her (ms.mcruz) fixed the problem.

Pros: Stayed at Manila Hotel 35 years ago and it was luxurious and elegant then and it still is! Breakfast buffet was more like a brunch! It was excellent, delicious but sinful !

Pros: I went to the dinner buffet, and it was literally the best one I've ever been to in my entire life. Additionally, although the hotel is a bit dated, it's classy and a very special place.
Cons: I didn't love being so far out of city center, so I left a night early. If you're looking for a staycation or want to be close to Intramuros, this is a fantastic place to be.

Cons: When i was online trying to select a room. From the website, the room grade i select was suppose to be the newly renovated rooms with rain shower, marble bathroom counter, tv in bathroom and etc... But when i check in, i was assigned to a older room at the main building without all as described. I call the loddy and they told me that my room grade was not the newly renovated rooms, it is available at the next higher grade room. I was not too happy about this as i feel that i was misleaded to book at this hotel because of the renovation. But not so. I talk to the manager and she allow me to change room, but keep reminding me that this is only a courtesy upgrade, next time please book the higher grade room. My point is that the hotel are giving miskeading into on website to customers and the staff should be aware of the room class and provide the correct room to customer.

Pros: Very basic room. Everything above a simple bed and bath was extra - a lot extra. Showering in the morning was difficult simply because the water would go from very cold to scolding hot every few seconds. Not nice when you have a 1 year old with you.

Pros: I like the staffs, helpful and respectful. Pleasant and professional. Mon, is his name . The one that cleans my room, he's done superb job cleaning. But everyone is to me is A + if I have to grade it. I stayed there for 24 days and everyone is nice from Room cleaners, to the front desk, gym, restaurant, concierge, doorman/woman, bell boys. I hope I didn't leave anyone out. All awesome, pleasant attitude.
Cons: The structure needs to be redone specially the bathroom. Needs to take care of ants infestation. Change in room carpet will help.

Pros: We chose this hotel for its location and were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the facilities for the price. No, breakfast wasn't included but that wasn't a deal breaker.
Cons: Bedding was only actually changed once. We noticed when hanging the 'Please Make Up Room' sign, they only made the bed with the current linen instead of changing it out.
