Location, Loverly rooms, everything you need, great secure car park.
Good location, right next to Picadilly Train Station. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was lovely,
The holiday feel from having a room that overlooked the atrium with its palm trees. It was so quiet.
Friendly staff and good service, clean rooms, central location
The rooms were very spacious and clean, and the apartment was close to all of the main shops and bar areas.
breakfast was good.convenient for the shops/shows/meals etc our room was in need of a re-vamp.it smelt fusty especiall in the lounge, this may have been the suite?. There was no dish cloth or washing up liquid. The breakfast room was too warm. I Ieft a phone charger there and rang to see if had been found but no one returned my call!.
The convenience of the location and the spaciousness of the apartment
we took our in-laws with us they are in there 70s and the fact they where made up with there en-suite room made the weekend special for us we will definately be staying at the Place again.
The penthouse appartment was amazing value.
lovely Decor in rooms bathroom was very claustophobic and not very clean
Central location Vert tatty decor, room very small for the price
Location, great and efficient staff. A little bit noisy - other guests knocking on the door and generally rowdy.
went to the take that concert
Great location Our room was quite narrow and had a strange smell, really small faults.
An excellent breakfast with very pleasant staff. We found the bed a bit uncomfortable.
the staff were excellent very friendly and informative, nothing was too much trouble bathroom door did not shut to! room 636
Leaving The room.
The room was comfortable, the shower amazing and service / breakfast great. We also really enjoyed the pool / sauna after breakfast and found the check in/ check out times really reasonable so we were not rushing. Also we booked a twin room as a double was not available but then when we came to check in we were given the option of a double which was just what we wanted. The only negative comment I wqould make would be regarding the size of the pool you definitely cant use it for swimming as exercise as it's way too small!!
Relaxed atmosphere in a convenient location for shopping, restauarants and bars. Bathroom clean, but looked a bit old & tired.
That it was close to a place that we wanted to visit
Hotel is in a central location therefore very handy. Nothing to report on this.
A nice hotel, very well placed for Manchester Piccadilly train station and thecentre of Manchester. Helpful staff (even booked us taxis to and fro as it was freezing!). Very tasty and fresh breakfast too. Slightly dated interior and quite noisy from outside as in room at front of hotel - no noise reduction/double glazing.
The bed had a great nights sleep and the location was brill The room could have a little bit clean and the staff could have been friendly - not a single smile
Good location for a quick overnight stay Noise from main road at front of building and cold let through by lack of double glazing which meant that on a bitterly cold night, even though sleeping next to a radiator I had to raid another bed for extra blankets to get warm. Room lighting a bit poor and decor generally in room and hotel looking a bit shabby. Shower not very controllable. Spacious room though - intended to sleep 3 and would have done so without feeling cramped.
It is well located in city centre and was convenient for the purpose I stayed.I shall again if neeeded None
It was just the perfect location : city centre, trams just at the door step, train station to go the the airport just a few minutes away! The shower was unpractical, getting extremely warm then very cold all the time. The room we were staying in was just next to the boiler room, which made a tremendous noise every 10 min or so, which means we could not open the window at night for some fresh air. But it was ok with the window closed.
Convenience of getting to main attractions and shopping as well as being close to a train station The room did not have the main/big lights, only table lamps. Very squicky floor, I was concerned about making too much noise and disturbing occupants below at night time.
We were in a room overlooking the square and although we couldn't turn the radiators off, it was a quiet, very comfortable room. Thank you
close to station wallpaper coming off walls / decor needs changing
Its location to city centre Lack of hygiene in bedroom
comfortable room & really helpfull staff
the location of hotel in th city, near places of interest the decor of the rooms was very outdated
The hotel is located in the city centre and has all the modern facilities. I like the fact that there are irons and trouser presses in each room and the breakfast was great. It was a bit hot, But I believe we could change the temperature in the room
1 Location, 2 Modern with lift is a must when you carry a baby with pushchair.
The location of the hotel is ideal for shopping, and is situated right beside the main bus stops and trams. The breakfast was superb every morning with an excellent choice to suit all tastes. The service from bar staff was very poor. We waited 40 minutes for our order to be taken. Most of the waiting staff were incompetent! Reception was poorly staffed also, waited 25 minutes at reception to book a taxi. Room cleaning was also minimal, towels were not replaced and rooms weren't cleaned until after 3pm most days
though i booked double bed they have joined 2 twin beds and the beds were not quite comfortable, more than the bed,the pillows.pl.look into this,I stayed here abt 6m ago,i liked it thats why i booked at the same place,i might choose others for the next time.
the staff wear helpful & courteous it is in a poor state of repair 7 requires major renovation.
On arrival, the check-in process was very speedy and straightforward. We found the room to be very clean but smaller than we'd expected but this didn't matter as we were only staying for one night. The buffet breakfast was very tasty and had plenty variety. The mattress and pillows were a little hard. The main issue we had though was that people in the next room complained about us being too noisy. We had returned to our room at 11.30 pm and were chatting with the TV on for half an hour - we were definitely NOT making a lot of noise with our voices and the TV volume was quite low. I would therefore suggest the rooms are inadequetely sound proofed
breakfast and being so close to town centre was building work so unfair to comment
This Hotel is very shabby and in need of a complete overhaul.
location in the centre of Manchester, close to everything. 3 lifts for 14 floors.
Staff friendly Nice to have a bath & shower Clean & Comfortable bed Adequate hangers for clothing, but nowhere to put case Tea & Coffee making facilities good For what we paid a very small room Finish of décor was poor Sink in bathroom drained water very slowly Aircon switched itself off after about 30 seconds so room was stifling No fridge
We stayed on a Sunday so the value for money was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Would use again.
The fabulous Suite -Angel was just amazing. So big and luxurious. Well worth the £200 per night. We also had a table at Michael Caines and the food was the nicest i've ever had None bar the arrogance of other guests.
it was really nice, airy and modern. we were suprized by what we got for our money. the place and staff were very welcoming and we felt very comfortable. the bed was massive and the room was very nice.
Room cleanliness and comfort. Location is also fantastic.overall it is very good hotel. so far no, maybe bit noisy from my room.
It was just a very pleasant stay in general.
It was close to the train station
The hotel staff, especially the girls on reception, were extremely friendly & helpfull. Room was well equiped with TV, DVD player, etc and comfortable Though the room rate was reasonable, the breakfast was far too expensive. £9 for a continental breakfast? No thank you. No wonder the restaurant was empty in the morning!
Good location, nice beds. Our booking was a mess at this Hotel and the receptionist was at sea with our whole booking. Finally giving us rooms that I would consider only adequate. Also staying at this Hotel does not necessarily allow you to have a table at the popular Michael Caine resturant. That was very disappointing. This Hotel was the least good Abode Hotel I have stayed in.
closeness to station and city centre, standard of room generally had to ask for more loo roll and no ashtray even though it was a smoking room
Very good breakfast if a little expensive Persistance of housekeeping and poor grasp of the english language of same. They kept knocking to service the room when I had said it was fine.
it was close to all amenities in manchester resturant
Friendly reception staff and great location. Food and service in the Dining Room (called City Cafe) is very poor and quite expensive. I booked a late check out for 5 pm and paid £30 for it, from 12 noon housekeeping tried to get into the room 5 times and eventually got security to come up to us. Very stressful and disappointing, it was so much hassle that I left the room early and forgot some of my stuff. I go to Manchester several times a year I will not be booking into this hotel again ( I stayed in this City Inn three times since Mar 2010 the last time in November 2010).
Apple iMac in room. Free WiFi connection. Booking staff flexible. Breakfast good quality but (see below). Bright modern city centre hotel. Rather characterless. Paying extra for breakfast and even more if you require anything cooked then portions very small. Asked for mushrooms and received a single mushroom.
helpful, friendly staff, lovely rooms, attention to detail in providing extras such as real hairdryer (not the wall type), ironing board/iron in room, iMac integrated entertainment system/pc
The double tree is a nice hotel at first glance. I found the staff at the front desk were not the most welcoming but that wasn't the biggest problem. The room was comfortable for the most part and me and my companion were looking foward to a nice stay. The shower had two choices, freeze or burn. It was nearly impossible to get the shower at a normal temperature which was a huge issue. But we were only there for 2 nights so decided it would be better to give it another try than moving rooms. On our second night which was a Saturday we were awoken at 4 am by a group of drunk girls that were screaming down the hallway. I felt like I was transported to the worst spring break all inclusive. I called the reception 3 times and in all fairness they came up every time to get those stupid girls to shut up. Then their guy friends came from the party minutes later and started retaliating to help their skanky girlfriends. They were standing outside of our door yelling obscenities. I called again and eventually the noise stopped but at that point I had one more hour before having to get on a train to the airport so my entire night was ruined. While they were definitely responsive to the times I called they should have kicked these people out. What kind of reputation do you want to have? I know that on my next visit to Manchester staying at the double tree and staying at the hatters is pretty much the same. If you want to maintain an upscale reputation then be more selective about who you let stay in you hotel or at the very least have your front staff make the rules clear when these drunken idiots tumble in through the door of your hotel.
The check-in staff are always friending and the breakfast is quick. The carpets in the room are progressivly getting dirtier with stains, not good! Please have them cleaned, makes me question how clean everything else is.
Good location, quiet, internet access, rooms had windows (a lot of neighbouring hotels don't!!!!). Staff were efficient and friendly. Room was clean. Nice soaps, etc. Recycled loo paper (I think). Would certainly stay here again- much better than the 2 hotels nearby that I have used before. No bottle-opener in the room, but bottles in the mini-bar mostly had caps! So you lost a sale there. A few signs at street level would have made it easier to find on foot in the dark- I walked round 2 sides of the building before identifying the entrance.
Close to train station shops bars staff very good.Bar area very pleansent and I would say not over priced Stayed for 3 nights but on the Sunday morning room did not get made up but saying this soon as it was pointed out room service was called and room made up
Bright, spacious; close to train station and city centre.
Very helpful staff, good location, nice room and good value
Bedrooms gorgeous & food delicious. There was no explanation of the breakfast choices in the hotel room, would have also liked some DVDs available for the DVD player.
I liked the hotel room, very spacious, clean and a large bed!
the room was extremelly comfortable and clean
The staff were exceptionally helpful, very modern hotel with a batchelor pad feel to the rooms! Very convienent for Manchester city centre and shopping areas No Swimming pool in health resort
decor is fantastic, all the staff we encountered were absolutely lovely. This was without doubt one of the best hotel experiences I've had.
Comfortable bed and pillows.
Breakfast was brilliant! N/A
Stylish, & an excellent location.
City centre location No valet parking
The location is excellent, just opposite to the train station. Room is very small but has been designed to include all the necessary facilities. Plenty of power sockets for laptop, mobile, etc. Wifi was free, reliable and of reasonable speed. Ample provision of tea and coffee in the room. Friendly staff and a good system for luggage storage in the hotel lobby. Noise insulation isn't that good as I could hear people speaking in the other room, etc. The stool for the work desk was not suitable for me to do much work as it was tiring without a back support. Occasionally, housekeeping wasn't to the standard required as I found the same pillowcases with my hair on it, carpet was not hoovered, etc.
