Pros: We booked this hotel as a layover hotel - because we arrived too late to catch a long boat to Railay Beach. This is a lovely place. It's on the main drag, and we checked in at night - so it wasn't until morning when we went to the interior courtyard, and saw the view of the water from our balcony, that we saw it's lovely secrets. The staff are so lovely and helpful. Since we had attended a wedding in India earlier, we had lots of extra baggage that we didn't want to take to the beach. The hotel was happy to check them for us for five days.

Cons: Staff was unable to communicate or provide resolution to a very simple issue. Was told no refund and no room provided (they only had "upgraded" rooms for double the price), despite their booking issue. This type of service would never fly in other parts of the world, here it was not only all they would do but they laughed about it on our way out. Location is poor compared to many others around and is very expensive comparatively, both of which I can live with, but the extremely poor service of the night manager was unacceptable.

Cons: Off the beaten path so a long walk to vacation tour booking kiosks. Instead of the hotel booking it for you to help with this inconvenience, they double the price and profit more off the booking. Shouldn't one try and assist the customer by making the reservations at cost as a courtesy to outweigh the imbalance and distance. That's taking advantage of your clients, not taking care of your clients. Also wifi is awful and no hot water. Not on beach. Restaurant staff was awful and in attentive. Food average. Eat down the street. Staff can't speak English at all.

Pros: I liked the customer service additude of the staff. Mr Ong in the reception area creates a festive atmosphere with his interaction and positive response to any question or problem. The hotel was just remodeled and it seems they never set up the TV in our room. A man from the reception staff imeadiately responded to my repair request and sent a maintenance guy at 10pm to correct the situation. The place was clean and the garden atmosphere was beautiful. The breakfast was good. But being Asia, the Asian portion of breakfast was downright delicious. The staff at the breakfast was always couretous and happy and made you feel at home. It was also a nice touch that they had the lobby decorated for Christmas. Staff Customer service is the best thing about this place..5 star staff. Would stay there again.
Cons: I was in room 504 and being a retired University Facilities Director, I can tell you that they never did a proper startup on the facilities to get out all of problems fixed that are common after construction. The rooms look beautiful and stylish but things like, the TV set up. Some slow running drains. Electrical switches that work sporadically indicate that they may have many minor problems throughout the facility for some time. The only real maintenace issue I observed was that the fish pond between the reception area and the pool was dirty should be cleaned immeadiately makes a poor impression of of what should be a great hotel facility. I am sure they will correct the above issues soon.

Pros: Rooms were clean and newly remodeled. Breakfast staff was good and the food was great! Two small pools were okay, the infinity pool had an amazing view!!
Cons: The people working at the front desk did not seem friendly upon check in! I need assistance with their phone system (to dail an outside line) they would not offer to help. Upon checkout we had to wait over an hour for the staff to check our room.... This happened throughout our stay in Tailand but usually only took 5-10 minutes. This hotel made everyone wait for over an hour. Terrible.

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. The buildings are modern and stand our from the rest of the hotels/business on the main road. The included breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The price does not match the experience. The room is mediocre. The mattress was uncomfortable and felt used. I could feel each metal spring. There were small bugs (akin to ants, but not ants) in multiple places in our room even though we were on the third floor above the ground. Definitely not the $90+ room I expected in a resort. The shower was built poorly such that splash from the shower gets under the shower wall and into the other areas of the bathroom, such as around the toilet. I would definitely not be returning to Cliff Resorts and I would look for other hotels in the area.
