The hotel was located in a perfect place, right in front of the beach. the pool was located a short distance from the beach. My childeren loved it
The room was spacious, comfortable beds, free guest parking The room especially the bathroom looked shabby, we had to ask the housekeeping to change the sheets as they looked as if they were not changed after the previous guests. On the weekend the pool was overcrowded and not super clean
Staff was awesome. Arrived 3 hours early and got in to room. Friendly and helpful staff clean rooms. Great location. great room size for shared family. Free shuttle service the only thing I didn't like is that we didn't stay longer.
We, as a family had an excellent time, hotel was so clean and well designed, facilities excellent, staff extremely helpfull, could not do enough for us, especially complimentary transport into town. Could not fault would love to return one day. Nothing
This hotel is just across the road from a beautiful beach. The free parking is great and the free shuttle into Duval st was fantastic. The house keeping staff were very friendly and did a fantastic job.
Spacious, clean rooms Very helpful, friendly staff and knowledgeable concierge I enjoyed laying by the pool and listening to the meditative sound of the waterfall Right across the street from Smathers Beach Shuttle to the airport and to/from downtown Fitness center (though note the ceiling in the cardio room is low and equipment may not be suitable for tall people - my boyfriend is 5'11" and was okay but taller than 6' may not be) A bit far from Duval Street, but they do offer a shuttle service to and from the heart of the downtown area which makes up, in part for the location. Food and drinks at the hotel restaurant were not that good.
the rooms were beautiful, spacious and very well-kept.
Across the street from the beach. Shuttle service that ran to Duval st every hour or so. Nice swimming pool and restaurant. Very friendly staff Far from most of the attractions in key west, but that also made it quieter. Shuttle service made up for the location.
I liked that staying was only one night The room at first floor smelt very bad and the carped was moist. Air conditition was lousy, air was very moist. Next mornig I saw that water was stilling under the building?! There were lakes, so not supprise why room smelt like mould.
The luxury of the rooms A bit too far from the main shopping area
Nice pool, and big rooms. The hotel is really beautifull from the outside The rooms and the facillities should be improved...It s kind old. Smokers stay away, you can t smoke even at open air inside the hotel. The Beach is in front of the Hotel (Smathers Beach) but it is not the best beach in town. If you don t have car it is a bit far from Duval Street. Not for young people wanting to have fun
Room was clean, comfortable and fully equipped with necessities.
location and breakfast was pretty good... the room was a little warm for me...i set the thermostat to 68 degrees and the temp never dropped below 73 degrees...
The pool area was beautiful . It made you feel as if you were in the islands. There was plenty of comfortable seating including cabana style loungers to enjoy. All the staff helpful and pleasant . At the breakfast buffet the staff walked around to refill coffee, clear your tables and offer newspapers. There was plenty of free parking on site and rentals of motor bikes and bicycles.
Continental breakfast is always a great way to start off your day at any hotel, wished the selection was better but at least the coffee was always hot. Beautiful pool area lots of seating but the tiki bar's food selection was also a bit limited. A lot of people were receiving noise complaints at the pool and rooms at 2 PM.... Its Key West so if you're planning on wanting peace and quiet you should probably stay in Marathon, and not blame the hotel for your poor choice in vacation destination... Parking is quite a problem at this location and forcing some people to park in random lots nearby, which is never a good idea in the Keys. The ice machines never seemed to be working well. The rooms are also very small, actually uncomfortable for 4 people to be in a room with two double beds. Most likely would stay here again, but not my first choice.
If the owners would spent a little money to modernize the rooms, this would be the place to stay in Key West. It's secluded, on the water and very reasonable. I will stay there again. The carpet, a/c, tv's paint need upgraded. The tiki bar would be a great party spot.
The location is good, could rent a bike easily, stayed there for 3 nights and everyday someone did cleanup the room. There was a fridge and microwave which did help. 1)The room was nasty. The carpet needs to be changed immediately, not cleaned as you cannot walk without slippers in the room, your feet will be BLACK. 2) They provided a coffee machine but no sugar and/or creamer in the room. 3) The breakfast wasn't great, no eggs at all :( 4) There was a broken hair dryer in the bathroom cabinet, the cabinet had a lot of molds. 5) There were 2 lamps in the bedroom which did not work. 6) Worst of all, the AC was a wall /window fixed, right next to the bed. Guess the filter wasn't cleaned for a long time. I had a severe cold which got worst every night we were there. 7) Overall, not worth the money, very unhygienic and need a serious renovation or cleaning.
Great Loacation Staff was poor, room was adequate. Air conditioning was poor.
The resort was not hard to find. It's location is right off the main strip. But when entered the parking lot was surprised by the unkept building. The staff was prompt and courteous. Overall the room was cleaned but paint was peeling off the walls, the toilet leaked, the bed was uncomfortable and squeaky, and everything that seemed worned down and old. I didn't think the price was right for the stay and worth the price of the room.
The property needs significant updates: new paint, non-dripping plumbing, wi-fi around the property (and rooms), carpeting, etc. It looks like the owners haven't invested anything in the property for at least 20 years.
I liked the breakfast and the rooms were nice and comfortable. The hotel was 5 minutes away from everything. The room does not need to be upgraded. Seriously it's a room with beds, bathroom, and tv. Our tv was not a flat screen but so what... I thought for the price, this was great. The staff seemed a little disoriented towards hotel policies. There was a lack of communication between managers and staff.
Booked two beds and when we got there they told us they didn't have any left Place was dingy
Location and waterfront view... iguana and other wildlife were around the area so that was nice. Termites, disgusting bathrooms, wife got bed-bug bites, unpainted drywall patch in room. Wouldn't pass housing code if newly built. Closer to a "no-tell-motel" than a resort.
Nothing to like ... I never got to experience Banana Bay Resort as they over booked the property and ended up palming me and my friend to another property further away from the activity center of Key West. The property was over booked so we were dumped off at a lesser competition's facility. I was told (via e-mail) that I was notified as early as possible but the fact remains my notification came as I was enroute to the airport for a flight to Bogota. Very disappointed in the customer service. Whatever experience I had was tainted from the start.
It was easy to check in and folks were friends enough. pool wasn't heated and there could have been more of a breakfast selection
Our room was very clean and neat. We enjoyed the porch for morning coffee. Checking in was quite busy and maybe that's why it seemed quite disorganized.
The room was quaint and very cool. Loved having a frig.
