Very Friendly staff everywhere I went. Large, clean, comfortable room. Love the view of the city. Close to food, jazz clubs, and crown center. Would definately recommend for a business trip or with the family. Nice, open bar with food.
We received excellent rate through hotels.com. Location to power and light very close and they have a free shuttle. Charge for parking.
Very comfortable beds They ignored my room service card the last 2 nights.
I loved this hotel. One of the nicest I've ever stayed at. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was fantastic. Great view of downtown too.
Great Location. Easy access to many K.C. attractions. Pool was nice. High price, but little value. Bed was uncomfortable and noisy(creaky, squeaky). Small TV. $16 a day for parking. $10 a day for wifi. No continental breakfast.
The walkways that connect to places to eat ,stores etc. the best about this hotel. And the lobby is nice. Lines to check in and out were long and slow. I suggest you sort lines. I had prepaid and booked and still had to stand in line to check-in for 20 minutes.Had to pay by day for WiFi. So we went to free wifi locations away from hotel. Should not have to pay for that in a hotel that charges per day what this one does. And the charge per day for parking again should at least be one fee per stay. Now for the worst part of our trip. We were put by elevator. And could hear the elevator every trip up and down. All day and night. Did not get a good nights sleep. So if you stay here make sure to ask for room away from elevator locations!
Great location and staff. Rooms were a bit expensive for what they were
The location and size of the room. That we have been charged for the Gym usage (US$ 5). This is ridiculous.
We had a wonderful time KC is amazing Staff and room were excellent
Very close to the Sprint Center.Comfortable beds and clean rooms. I was very satisfied and would stay there again.
Very comfortable, friendly staff, very clean, conveniently located near railway station.
View of City Comfortable Room Quiet Very nice shops attached, restaurant options. Staff extremely polite and helpful Signage within hotel somewhat confusing. No directions to hotel parking garage Elevator to parking garage was not labeled as such
Friendliness of the staff. Cleanliness of the rooms. Beds were extremely comfortable. Group of pre-teen boys running up and down the hallway, screaming and banging on doors in the middle of the night. Not really the hotel's.fault, but.certainly put a.damper on things.
The rooms were beautiful, fitness center and pool were a good size, and the help and the front desk was friendly. NOTHING is included in this $200+ room. No minifridge, no breakfast, no parking, there's even a bottle of water in the room that you will get charged for if you drink.
Great location in downtown Kansas City. Nice lobby area with full service bar. Large menu served until after midnight (Saturday night) and the food was really good. Waited in line for about 30 minutes to check into room. Only 2 staff at front desk.
When I arrived and checked in/got the keys, and when we were walking to the room, the staff called us saying that my visa didn't go through!! They tried again but it won't go through! So we had to leave the hotel, we went to a different one.
Great location and room Pillows were flat and hard :(
Location was perfect, walking distance to sprint center, many restaurants and downtown area. The decor and appearance was classy and elegant and view was outstanding. Expensive parking $14 for one night
Never cleaned the room, lost my keys at the valet, mirror fell off of the wall, room service forgot to bring our order, literally anything that could go wrong did!!!!
The Staff were friendly and explained anything I needed information about. I would have liked to have known it was valet parking only from information provided in the description.
Room was not ready at check in and staff seemed extremely disorganized. We sat in the lobby for an hour waiting for a room. When our room was finally available, they just thrust the keys at us and didn't direct us to our room or let us know when check out time was. The next morning, the phone rang and it was the staff asking if we still needed our car. We were sleeping and hadn't called for our car and they just kind of said oh ok and hung up. Then here comes housekeeping banging on the door while we're still in our pajamas. The room was nice but the bathroom door is a sliding door and is so close to the bed that you can hear every little noise coming from the bathroom. No bathroom privacy if you're not alone in the room. The hotel has been restored nicely but service needs some work.
Location and cleanliness was great. They do have a shuttle to take you places within 3 miles but it want not operating during my stay because of staffing problems. Staff was courteous and helpful. I did like the restaurant or their menu. It is a lost opportunity. No draft beer. It's a lovely location and with the right menus and bar snacks, this place could be hopping. It was empty on super bowl Sunday; it's a shame.
the breakfast in room was good and nice. Next to elevator in room 1224, kept me awake most of the night.
Perfect location for Power and Light District. A bit far away from the city centre; would need a bit of a refurbishment.
The locations was perfect for our downtown stay. The city was alive with people and I felt it was a safe place to stay. Although the hotel had an attached parking ramp, there were no stalls available for any of the guests who checked in Saturday afternoon. This was a major problem because I had to park three blocks away.
Staff was nice Nothing
Front desk gave us all vouchers for free cover to get into the Power and Light district (worth $10 each) and vouchers for free cover for two of the bars within it. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Expensive parking.
It was very close to point of interest. It also had a great bathroom! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room was a smaller than I expected.
Historic hotel in the heart of downtown Kansas City, close to numerous restaurants and sights, this hotel kept the old charm with nice updares to meet today's traveler. I actually ordered some cookies when I returned late from Insomnia Cookies, they delivered fresh, warm goodness. Overall the hotel is nice, clean and the showers provide nice pressure which I find less likely these days and a welcomed surprise when shampooing my thick head of hair. I was traveling for work, but I could see how it could also be a nice romantic getaway as well.
The staff was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. Every recommendati
The Ambassador was really nice. Our room was great and cool looking, giant king size bed was comfy. They gave you free bottled water (as many as you needed), which was nice. The staff was really great as well. The highlight was the complimentary car service and their afternoon / night driver Bert. He was like a personal tour guide and knew a lot about the city. He also had really great restaurant and bar recommendations. He also got us into the Boulevard Brewing Tour last minute, which was booked out for the next six months. I didn't know this guy until the trip, but he really went out of his way to make my wife and I's KC experience worth while. The bathroom door didn't lock and their was no fan ventilation in the bathroom. The bar downstairs was pricey!
Beautiful restoration. Excellent service. Surprisingly intimate in the middle of the city. 2 thumbs up!
the location, and the staff loud occupant above me
Spacious king size suite, comfortable bed and pillows, quiet room on first floor, full size breakfast buffet. Security guard patrolling parking lot at night. White comforter had makeup stains along top edge
The beds were dreamy and everything was super clean, I also liked that there support being "green". Staff helpful and caring . Good healthy breakfast. I liked everything:))
The hotel was fairly easy to get to and decently close to the activities we were planning on doing in the city. We had no major issues and not having to pay for parking was great! Our room was clean by most people's standards and the staff did their job. The hotel was fairly dated and had a strange smell. The breakfast, while free, was disappointing at best. We didn't go to the pool area so I cannot say much about that. The neighborhood is a little off putting and not a place I would suggest taking a family to. However, it did what we needed it to do which was to give us a place to sleep and get ready before spending our days doing things around the city.
good value location was good but not ideal; i.e we would prefer to be a little closer to Main street.
Desk Clerk was amazing. very noisy late at night. need to quiet down rowdy teenagers
The staff was wonderful! The room was modern and had a nice view of the city. The room was small and not extremely relaxing though. The hallway was noisy and there is almost no noise insulation from one room to the next. I didn't feel the luxury for the price of the room. The location is outstanding for having fun downtown Kansas City though, we could walk everywhere we wanted to be! Overall I enjoyed my one night getaway stay at this hotel, it was just that, a bed to crash in when we were done having fun on the town.
Clean, great staff, close to dining, shopping, and entertainment. even after adjusting the room temp it was still very cold.
The updates to the hotel made it look very modern and clean. The lobby and the rooms had a number of cosmetic improvements that made it appealing. The staff was very helpful in finding the easiest route to get around downtown. The room layout was very cramped. the space was not well designed in the remodel the were describing. Also, the walls in the redo were not sound-proofed. We could hear everyone in the halls and all of the neighboring rooms in addition to the alley below us. It made it really hard to sleep when It sounded like people were talking in the room
Nice place to stay, clean rooms, quiet. Good location, close to the plaza and a good variety of restaurants close bye. Beds were pretty comfortable, the complementary breakfast was good. My only issue with the whole place was the pillows were thick, I am used to a different style of pillow. I have noticed that many hotels implement these style of pillows, so I would not attribute this hotel as having terrible pillows. Just that I am used to my pillow at home.
Very close to Children's Mercy Hospital. I asked the front desk 3 times, 3 days in a row to please fix the light in the bathroom. Each time they stated it would be taken care of. I gave up after the third request on the third day. They are obviously NOT passing along the requests to have maintenance fix these sort of things or there simply was no maintenance person available. But really how hard is it to change the fluorescent tube in a bathroom. I should have asked them to give me the hardware and i could have changed it. No fun shaving in the dark. Also on the first night the fire alarm went off 3 times, all false alarms. This was between 8:30 and 10 pm. It seemed to be caused by lightning close by. Each time the piecing alarm went on for many minutes with the staff unable to turn it off.
Newly restored hotel in downtown KC. Clean and fresh setting. Rooms are very nice with new beds, furniture, and fixtures. Good but basic hot breakfast each morning. Parking is valet only, and there isn't a good spot out front for someone to drop you and your bags off without getting in the way of the valet service. Our daughter who lives in town drove us while we visited KC, so we ended up parking down the street at a meter in order to check in.
Everything about this hotel was phenomenal: staff, service, breakfast, rooms, etc. Made me not want to go back home! I will stay here every time I come to KC! Be prepared to pay for parking. The hotel offers valet for $16 a night.
