Just a realy nice clean new hotel, excellent.
Room was clean, free internet (they give you a cable), parking is reasonably price (about 8EUR per night), easy access out of town by car for business travel. 45EUR to airport by taxi. Be careful, the pool and sauna were closed when we went. Also the gym is just a machine. Location is 1km walking from the old town (where the tourism is). You need to cross a bridge/major street. Overall great for business, and may OK for a weekend in the city.
good location nice spa and pool some guest had had to much toi dringk on the saturday nite and vomitted all over the carpet on the 4th floor balcony and outside our rooms took the staff rather a long time to clean it up
The swim pool and jacuzi!
The hotel was very good and the room was fantastic. Good breakfast with decent choice and really fresh orange juice. It was a bit far although still within walking distance of the city centre.
The room was nice and big. Breakfast was great. Parking was easy to find for free on the street next to the hotel. Staff always made me wait for the longest time to answer me or even acknowledge my presence. Not helpful at all. No wi-fi and business center computer was painfully slow. Very far from the city center.
No iron or ironing board available to iron with. There should always be an iron and board available at a hotel.
Very modern and clean hotel No WIFI in the room
We were only there for one night. We enjoyed using their large computer access space after we had checked out. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I did like it very much but wish the staff speak english much
We stayed at the HC for 3 nights whilst visiting our son, who is working in Gijon. The hotel is in a very central position only 10 minutes walk from the Bus & Railway stations, and from the sea front and beaches. There are many shops, restaurants and cafe/bars close by. The staff were very friendly, the room & ensuite very large, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfast was superb and taken in a beautiful old fashioned dining room, with friendly and helpful staff on hand to supply as much tea or coffee as you wanted.
The suite had a confortable size and with good standard. however, the writing table was too small to comfortably use a laptop and at the same time have a writing pad there. I was disappointed about the breakfast - none of the two waitresses approached me to ask if I wanted anything and a very poor selection on the buffet - mostyl sweet stuff. On the table next to me they were served eggs and bacon, obviously on order, but I was never offered anything.
Staff all professional, rooms and common areas well appointed, comfortable - Great location, convenient to all areas of Gijon by foot, yet quiet - Free use of internet privacy booths a real plus Personal hygiene, toiletries, available in room should be expanded
Nice, Spanish old fashioned/style luxurious hotel in the centre of the town. Underground parking a few steps away, one of the main squares around the block, beach 5 mins walk and lots of little mesones and restaurants serving great fish and the famous Asturian cidra. Rooms are very big, comfortable and super clean. Slightly dated and old-fashioned bathroom, but in a perfect condition. This hotel is rather classy and offers a good value for money (paid Euro 50 through Booking.com without breakfast for double room in early November). Definitely recommend! Nothing.
I loved the location which is in the centre 300mts from the bus station. The staff spoke english and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a buffet and really good value. This is a good hotel for exploring the city and surrounding areas.
All in all satisfactory stay
Right in city centre so able to walk everywhere. Very difficult to find if driving to Gijon.
The staff and consierge were very helpful
We asked for a family room & were delighted with it - 2 adjoining rooms with a huge bathroom & balcony. Super.
Very central but quiet location; free internet access in foyer
location - close to beach and walks. The best thing was the guide to Gijon book in the hotel room. a really fantastic book with so much information and so easy to read it really helped us to access all the wonderful aspects of Gijon and made the holiday.
excellent location close to the beach and to main areas in Gijon.new modern hotel, with good facilities (including swimming pool, fitness center and jacuzzi). They have family rooms that suits family needs. breakfast price is unappropriate and complicated rates with different selections proposals instead of the classical, easy one price + buffet
Modern and very well equipped, great location. Not a lot of personality.
Location, comfort Breakfast at bit basic for cost
lovely modern design and comfortable rooms.
Spotlessly clean, impressive looking with great views. Right on the beach. Nothing much to dislike, typical business hotel. Did not have many of the TV channels they claimed to have.
Next to the beach, the reception girls are hot and very kinds, 25 euros extra for the sea view!! 18euros for the parking, 20 euros for the breakfast!! it´s a nice hotel but not so nice for this prices!
Clean, modern and friendly staff Very limited English TV from the satelite system
Saw the city of Gijon
The location is good because it is close to the beach and restaurants. The room is clean and spacious. The rate is expensive for the status of the hotel. The breakfast is poor compared with other Spanish hotels.
Everything! It is a small treasure in the heart of a very large city. The location is outstanding, close to shopping, the beach and the marina. The hotel staff was exceptional - all were very helpful and caring - especially Beatriz and Jose Luis.Because the hotel is located in the "Zona de copas", staff reassigned our room to the interior of the hotel, which afforded us quiet, peaceful nights, while the young people partied outside until the early hours of the morning. I look forward to our next stay there. A family members traveling with us was pleased with the handicapped room and facilities. The parking was convenient but difficult to manuver in the subfloors of the building.
a bit noisy
This hotel is well located close to all amenities (beach, main square, city centre) which is very convenient to spend some days. I recommend it. It is new and clean. The hotel also offers a delicious lunch based on traditional cuisine. Perhaps the parking by a lift is at the beggining a bit difficult but later it is ok.
Nice bright rooms, very helpful staff. Hotel suited us and our older teenage children. Booked two rooms. The first night one room was too small, but other room large, albeit quiet and next to each other. The staff were great at changing it the next day, and we moved to a good sized room with small balcony. Liked the decor. Liked the cafe/breakfast area, and the tables and chairs on the quiet street. Location is great as it is in the older part of town on a quiet street and only 5 minutes from beach, and easy access to shops. Staff all helpful and friendly. As above, our first night one room was too small, but no quibbles about changing it next day. On double beds they have a strange very long bolster for a pillow, which is no use for sharing. Single pillows please. Would like kettle in room, but we did know in advance there wasn't one
Helpful staff. Good bathroom with bath & shower. Quiet room at back. Free wifi. Near to beach and Old town. Easy walk to railway & bus stations. Good breakfast served until 11am in cafe area. Safe in room. Comfortable bed. Minimalist white decor in room was featureless. Would have liked a bigger choice of channels and a stronger digital signal for TV.
Very classy room. Aircon too weak. Does not cool room enough.
Good location, lot's of bars and restaurants around... Parking near the hotel
The breakfast was more than adequate, representing excellent value for money. The room was well equipped albeit very compact. While the underground parking facility is an absolute must, don't try using it for anything bigger/longer than a standard four door saloon!
The hotel was very clean. The bathroom was particularly impressive with marble interior. The location was a bit far out from the centre of town and beach. It was a 10 minute bus ride. And i think it is located in a very residential area with nothing much to do. I also think it is overpriced. The room service menu was particularly expensive.
silence, quality of food, kindness, -they didn't have information about local transportation: buses, bicycles, prices, time-table, one day pass etc; the sauna and fitness room don't have a small garden or some nature, it was in basement.
Very clean and comfortable room. Asked for a late checkout (2pm). No problem. No charge. The location was a little remote
Good parking facilities. Helpful desk staff. Distance from restaurant area.
new style hotel in Gijon, nice location and easy to come no extra bed available even booked in advance
The staff very helpful, and hotel location for city and beach. No proper restaurant in the evening, and no coffee/tea facilities in the room.
very good breakfast seletion. They confuse twin with double rooms. At reception we were told that we were getting a double room but we got twin. We did not complain in the end.
Nice location adjacent to a beatiful park and within walking distance to the beach and restaurants I found the charge of €22.00 for 24-hour broadband access to the internet outrageous and will not use Tryp in the future due to this.
Air conditioning in room didn't work. Socket hanging off wall in bathroom. Tv remote control didn't work.
the hotel was in a excellent location easy access to the beach and shops could not surply a ironing service which was very disoppointing as i was in town for a wedding and both me and my friends could not iron are suits
The hotel was a long way from the center of the city.
staff very efficient and friendly. Breakfast excellent.
Central Location and friedliness of staff
It was well located with a good view of the beach. It was central and the cafe was very handy and felt part of the locality, rather than just a hotel cafe for clients, which was nice Initially trying to find it was a slight problem. Also having found the underground carpark (by luck!) it wasn't much fun taking our cases to and from the hotel
A nice hotel with an excellent location by the beach and old town. The lack of parking but this seems to be the case with most hotels in Gijon. A laundry service is advertised but this is only available, quite understandably, at certain times. The problem is that there are no ironing facilities available out of hours - in fact we were told it was "impossible" for us to borrow an iron. A mixed reception from the staff some friendly some decidedly cold, but again that is typical of Gijon.
The size of the rooms. It is very nice to have some space. No
Modern style and great location.
liked everything about it.couldnt fault it at all. the staff, particularly the Avante Garde restaurant manager, were excellent, very friendly.i had booked a superior room and was allocated a junior suite which was amazing.
New, very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Good location Restaurant closed on Sundays.
the location of this hotel was very good and the rooms were very nicely done to a high standed we picked this hotel because of the roof top swimming pool the weather was hot and we were told the pool does not open until july very disapointingfor us
Extremely comfortable and well appointed room. No space for us in the restaurant - had quite a task finding an ealternative venue to ur satisfaction. - the Hotel was hosting at reality tv show overnight.
New rooms, beautiful hotel. Close to the beach (even if give the weather it was not an attraction), and close to the exhibition center. The restaurant did not offer service on Sunday night and Monday, the two days when I was there.
Very clean and comfortable hotel in excellent location by Gijon beach. Great roof top pool! Staff very helpful and breakfast delicious.
The location is excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very average.
the facilities and the excellent staff
Nice clean hotel
quality of the bed (too hard)
Good location staff friendly and helpful, close to city centre and old quarter. Breakfast adequate but not exciting
Pleasant staff - very helpful provided hot water for Lemsips! Hotel was good value and well located Dining room was extremely hot.
All fo the staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable
Good central location, very helpful and friendly staff, particularly the receptionists. Could do with the decor brightening up a little
The staff were very friendly and helpful, even before we stayed there. When we arrived we were very pleased with the service, everybody did their best to ensure we had a pleasant stay. All in all, i was very impressed and would definately stay there again.
visting family great place to stay.
Excellent central location Parkingis a nigtmare
The hotel is located in the centre of the city Small, dark and noisy room
excellent located in the centre of the city. clean, nice rooms
Very helpful stuff. Centrally located.
Clean, large room and bathroom. LCD tv, free Internet. Hotel parking. Friendly staff.
The location was excellent, right in the centre of down, the room were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. La localización era excelente, en el centro del cuidad, el habitacion era muy limpio y el personal amistoso y provechoso.
This hotel is very reasonably priced and is on one of the best streets in Gijon. The staff was extremely helpful. The central location made it possible to walk every where.
Staff was very kind. Rooms quite clean and no noises at all during night. Everything was correct!
Incredible restaurant. Lots of traditional dishes. Quiet, gorgeous location. Wonderful rooms. Old school. Nothing at all.
Excellent hotel. Rooms well furnished and clean and staff helpful.Within easy walking distance of beach
The hotel is quite nice, with an honest 3 star rating. The rooms are well furnished and very clean, the staff pleasant and helpful . The real attraction of this hotel is its location with rooms overlooking a lovely park, and it is only a 5 minute walk from the wonderful city beach in Gijon and 15 minutes to the centre. A very good bargain.
excellent helpful staff free internet good location
Quiet hotel close to the beach and an excellent park, with a relaxed atmosphere. Large rooms and good bathrooms. Excellent buffet breakfast.
Very comfortable, friendly staff, pleasant location and near the museum of Asturian life. 21.00 is far too late to eat. Not easy to find due to the one way system.
warm friendly hotel excellant staff nice surroundings for people like us who do not walk far , we are 70 and 80, but still travel the world this was one of 6 paradores on this trip . nothing negative to report , we always ask for a walk in shower, but mostly paradors only have same within the bath tub!!!!
Please note there is a sports stadium next door. Not sure what the noise is normally like but it was terrible when we were there. The were knocking part of it down. They started at 7 in the morning. Room was full of dust. Check before you book !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easy access to the beach and town. Pretty location in the park and close to bars and restaurants. Difficult to find and limited parking
I thought it was delightful and I would recommend it to all my friends, but then Paradors are always good. I only wish I could have stayed longer No
very correct if a liitle cool as far as reception staffaltho did have a lady greeter permanently waiting at the door .. the reception staff them selves seemed quite distant .. perhaps the least favorate of the 6 paradors we stayed in and eating at 9pm felt very late so ate elsewhere eating at 9
Friendly, clean, very comfortable, geat location for beach and entertainment.Would recomend for a weekend break.
the location is good, the staff friendly and breakfast was available at 7 even though it was advertised at only 7.30 Breakfast could have been better. The coffee was not so good and the croissants a bit sugary. However I believe that this is standard in Spanish hotels.
Hotel is situated in the middle of the city. Walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, sights, and on the beach . The hotel was perfect. Parking was a bit far.......but within walking distance.
Excellent location, excellent value for money, would book again.
Location fantastic, easy walk to harbour, shops, restaurants, old town. Easy to find.
Great location. Receptionists were helpful - even though we didn't speak the same language! They had listened to my request for a room with a view of some sort. Other travellers mentioned that the hotel was not "4 star", and that the area was noisy late at night at weekends. This is true. But knowing this in advance was helpful - I still enjoyed my stay.
everything was as expected for the room rate paid. no
the option of a first class cafeteria as well as a formal restaurant. Steak sandwiches for a light supper superb. Difficult to find in heavy traffic. Entrance to parking small and difficult to find.
Good secure parking, hotel located very close to the city center, easy walking access to all areas. Hotel staff friendly. Expect a little traffic noise given the location.
inexpensive, good location the restaurant did not have menus posted so I was not sure if it was a restaurant or just a coffee shop type place.
The hotel was very well located both from the beach and the coach station, as we travelled to Gijon by coach. The lifts could do with a bit of a remake
the hotel was conveinient to the city centre, all restraunts and shops were within 15 to 20 minutes walking distance facilities within rooms were very basic, sound insulation within rooms was virtually non existent as you could hear people talking and doors closing several rooms along the corridors. no out of hours bar service available to residents and a hotel manager with an attitude problem
proximity to everything! rooms are a little antiquated, and quite noisy. Everything is due for a spruss-up
Very convenient location with easy access to the beach. Parking: too small, contrived, with a high probability that you'll scratch your own car by trying to enter.
Ease of check in/out Rooms a little dated and well worn
Good value dinner Attic rooms were hot
amazing value with a big room and big bathroom for a really cheap price of €30 a night a bit too far from the city centre, about 10-15 minutes walk, but at this price it's not a real complaint
Convenient to the railway station and the beach. Popular Cafe attached to the hotel.
I really enjoyed having such a large patio space with chairs to relax on and people watch.
good clean and easy walk to beach and restaurents and friendly
Good and clean hotel
Relaxing and luxurious, beautiful scenery and good walks
Close to a fine park and the beach walk. Enjoyed a good meal in the restaurant.
Good location Available restaurant facilities were confusing. We were not advised of the main evening dining area downstairs.
The staff both in Reception and in the Dining room were most helpful and attentive. Food was also good. Secure garage parking underneath the hotel with a lift that takes you directly to your bedroom level rather than just to reception level.
good location, rooms above standard, quiet. pity that the dining room is underground..... the food though is excellent and good value.
Good hotel not so far from the Gijon. It's close to local park and beach. There no facilities as restaurants or cofeshops around the hotel, of you dont like coffee in the hotel itself you should walk about 10 minutes to the City.
Location (though it is necessary to have a car or take a taxi, which is not much of a problem since taxis are not very expensive); cleanliness, conform (we were the four of us in a family room, quite conveniently); bathroom with shower and whirpool tube... everything was good. Not in my case.
location a little out of the way
Free Internet, good parking, the staff is service-minded, good beds The Internet was slow, the location is inconvenient for downtown eating and drinking.
Very comfortable and silencious.
Convenient location Restaurent not yet open
Very good value for money. Free parking lot Quite hard to find. Quite far away from the city centre.
Very modern and luxurious
Recently refurbed to high standard, comfortable rooms. Inaccurate information about breakfast and prices on internet. Location in Industrial Park let down a good hotel
This hotel is very close to the motorway, which was exactly what we looked for. It was an excellent point of departure to visit the coast. And, of course, it is far from the centre of the town. Please note there is a good restaurant inside with a very cheap menu (Euro 12,00)
Big rooms, big bathrooms, confort, good and cheap restaurant, good price Difficult to find, you have to search in your navigator under gasoline pomp station “Alcampo”. Fair from the city.
Very good location, single room has a slightly bigger bed than expected, it made a lot of difference to someone over six foot!
great location to the port and town centre, the continental breakfast was very poor ,evening meal was as bad and service charge was added without notifcation . decor very dated , hotel needs full revamp !
The location is great. The room was small.
Excellent central location. Large bathroom. Decent WIFI
Family run hotel. The old man was extremely friendly. Very rowdy noises from street. Also, it advertised that it had a separate reading/TV room but I could not find this room
Good location, friendly attendants, fancy furnished.
Helpful staff, small breakfast included. Good value but small room for me as a single. Very central to everything in Gijon, overlooking the yacht basin.
The views and the situation the price without breakfast
Location and staff
Central location. View of marina and out to sea from hotel room. Breakfast, which was inclusive, was minimal.
