Location is perfect but a bit overpriced for what you get. Room was a nice size and staff was very friendly. I think it is better without kids. Overpriced a bit for what you get. Had to call to have room made up after being out from 9:30-3:0 during the day... I guess someone just forgot.
When I arrived at 10AM, there was no room ready (understandable), but when I returned in the afternoon, I was shown to a room with a worker working on scaffolding directly outside my window. The second room was fine, but I was disappointed that the clerk had initially no problem assuming he could leave us in a room where we could all wave to a worker!
excellent service, excellent staff, luxurious room - Fantastic hotel.
It was a gorgeous hotel - the breakfast was a bit pricey but it was lovely
Lovely staff, very beautiful building. There was no complimentary water or tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was very annoying. We have to queue to get into the restaurant for breakfast - first time I've ever had to queue in a hotel for breakfast and did not expect this from a 5 * hotel.
The hotel is grand and no detail is overlooked. The breakfast was superb but still talking of the impeccable service. A perfect 10 all around.
1st they are SO ACCOMODATING. Thanks to guest services, concierge DENNIS :-0 and the crew plus the front door attendants, managers, housekeeping are all amazing. Guest Service Rep came to greet us and had the goats milk avail for my daughter. In the USA we can only purchase at select store and did not realize it was more common to have in Dublin. We have made Dublin-the Shelbourne as our #1 headquarters. The quality of our stay, the fact they have vetted services for a nanny, great food, amazing polite service from all departments simply speaks volumes. Mr. Hanley and his staff at this fine establishment continue to amaze me. I really appreciate the peace of mind they bring to me and my little 1 and 2 year old children each visit. We surely feel special and love the amazing spacious rooms. THANK YOU ALL!! See you again next year. I have only positive things to communicate. They can keep up the great work. Great food options, great concierge, guest services, housekeeping, food services.....blessings to you all!
The staff was incredibly accommodating and pleasant.
the feeling of luxury, excellent service from all of the staff, reception staff were very professional as were porters bar prices are a little on the high side.. Thats dublin i suppose
Excellent staff . relaxing atmosphere. Superior service Breakfast at €29(orange juice and cereal) for a 12 yr old is way too pricey!
Breakfast was insanely good, the best part of our stay.
Nothing. I have stayed in better b&bs!!!
The Friendly staff and the Hotel Location
Very convenient location. Bright and spacious Had one disappointing food experience, but it was dealt with in a most professional manner by the manager
very modern and plenty of comfortable seating areas all over the hotel building work around the hotel but it did not spoil our stay
The bar was welcoming, the staff were very informative and a nice atmosphere in the hotel No signage for the toilets adjoining the bar and alot of people were asking the whereabouts of the toilets
Comfortable walking distance from the city centre, very clean and spacious rooms. We didn't try the swimming pool thanks to the very good weather in Dublin during our stay! Very good breakfast.
Central location, friendly staff, reasonable rate. Lack of car parking facilities
I liked the rooms and workout facilities and the staff were very helpful answering any questions.
Its convience. One reception staff, even though he was very helpful and polite was wearing heavy jewelry, a dirty friendship bracelet and shirt collar buttons not closed, he just did not look the part, not professional looking, I wondered what did visitors to our country think of it. Also no Irish whole meal soda bread at breakfast only bakery yeast bread, (not the same thing) Tinned fruit was so disappointing with so much fresh fruit available, yes there was a bowl of whole fresh fruit, but some chopped up would be so much nicer. Also, suggestion, Clonakilty black & white puddings are the best, you should try them.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was superb I thought it was a little expensive given economic climate and time of year.
Ease of Check in, staff were very helpful. Very good location
The staff are very friendly. Good location for shopping and the O2. The fire alarm went off at 9am!!
This hotel is fantastic! I stayed at another 5-star hotel in Dublin on this same trip and the two don't compare. The service and accommodations were infinitely superior at The Marker- and The Marker was cheaper. An outstanding hotel and excellent value! The only 'downfall' to the hotel is the location. It's in the Docklands area, which is up and coming but is about a 15-minute walk to the more popular tourist areas such as visiting Trinity College, Grafton Street, etc.
Fantastically clean and well designed. Not a thing. we loved it.
The central position of the hotel and also the overall excellent quality made for a very good short break.
the location and the rooms and the speed of check in nothing
Location was excellent
Every one of the staff members was friendly, knowledgable and well groomed as well as articulate. Someone was constantly cleaning painting polishing or vacuuming something. One afternoon the do not disturb sign was ignored and the house keeping staff tried to force the door open. Luckily there was a second lock device to prevent that. My wife had just flown in from America and landed at 7am. She went across America and then across the Atlantic, and she was understandably tired. We were trying to rest when we heard the racket at the door, startling both of us. It actually made me pretty angry, since the Do Not Disturb sign was outside. The next day they forgot the bottles of water for my room. The following day they forgot face cloths. The refrigerator was struggling to keep things barely chilled, and because of the proximity to Temple Bar, we had to sleep with the windows closed for the entire weekend. I feel the hotel charged at least 35% more than my room was worth, possibly because it was the weekend of the marathon
location and comfort. continental breakfast just ok
Hotel is very difficult when parking
Comort, facilities, closeness to the centre of *everything* in Dublin Gaining access at 5:30 am was slow
Pleasant environment, very nice location, friendly staff and spacious clean and luxurious room. The bed was too soft and streetnoise from nightlife
Location Rooms - small - sub standard bathrooms
the cleanliness of the room did not get much sleep as the noise from the fan kept us awake would have expected to have been told that there was a constant noise and would be going all night very disappointed
The staff were fantastic and the location perfect for some city shopping and exlporing the city The quality of room service food to cost was not the best
Efficiency and friendliness of the staff; well-appointed, comfortable, clean room.
This hotel is in a terrific Dublin location. Everything is convenient from St Stephen's Green. The hotel is luxurious and well-appointed with many nice details. I did not eat there, so cannot speak to the restaurant side of the deal. The rooms are a little small but nicely finished and the heated bathroom floor and loaner umbrellas were fabulous touches. I was amazed that the room is small - on a par with a London hotel perhaps of similar class. The only quibble I noticed was the quality of the built-in closet in my room. The doors were of poor quality material and didn't quite close accurately on their hinges. A small gripe for an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable stay.
The location was great and the staff was very nice. For $385 per night the room was small, the bathrooms were quirky and bfast should be included...
The bed was perhaps the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on. In the evening, I had a bath and the water was not as hot as I would have liked for a bath.
Location was great, just off the main street (Grafton). Shower pressure was amazing. Staff very attentive. Rooms are smallish when compared to the Fitzwilliam in Belfast. This might be the average room size for this type of room in Dublin.
The staff and customer service was superb. We had a problem with our room and it was sorted instantly with complimentary wine and chocs, etc Try to avoid a room on the sixth floor as there is some noise from the ventilation/heating systems on the roof in the rooms
we loved our bedroom, good size and beautiful decor;also it was warm and quiet and comfortable When sitting in the restaurant there was quite a breeze coming up from the lobby and we felt cold
Nice room and bathroom, excellent location, friendly staff, efficient bussiness center Too small double-bed for a five stars hotel, overpriced breakfast
Can't beat the excellent location on St. Stephen's Green and Grafton Street. Staff is very professional and efficient. Rooms are nicely appointed, if a little small for two adults. Breakfast was excellent with great and friendly service. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend to my friends. Rooms are small and awkward space for two adults.
it was so central
The location and the staff were excellent. The stereo does not work with current I-Pods.
Great location. Comfortable. Great staff.
Friendly staff and peace and quiet
The location was pretty good. The room was clean. The entrance and lobby were dirty and dated. The staff didn't seem to care at all.
the bed very poor selection of food, service had drop from my last stay
Great location...we walked everywhere. Restaurant was expensive and not great, plus breakfast was not included. Comfortable, clean rooms. The restaurant was expensive. Breakfast was not included in the room rate.
cosy room, good location and helpfull staff beverage and food costs
location internet speed staff expensive
The hotel was perfect for a short city break as it is so central. The breakfast is spectacular and the staff were so friendly. The beds in the rooms are some of the best ever as they are so comfy and have beautiful white linen on them.
The staff were friendly and most helpful. The hotel was quiet, and it took me just a few minutes to reach a lovely Park, and St Stephen's Green. Also, the food was delicious.
Great hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful, polite, and engaging. I particularly liked how they helped direct us around Dublin to the places we wanted to visit. Excellent service! Nothing!
Staff and location House keeping was poor. Mini bar was not restocked. I had a shower before going out for the evening, the towles were not changed. Never experienced that in any other hotel .
I liked the general quietness and the sense of privacy in the hotel. I also liked the staff who were very helpful and welcoming.
The pillows! The bed was very comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. Whilst the hotel is very nice, I think that it is over-priced.
Excellent staff service Andy he hotel and restaurant. Rooms very clean and comfortable
Friendly staff. Clean rooms.
great comfort, great staff room a bit small
The location is perfect and the exercise room is terrific with lots of options available on a nice array of equipment. Staff are friendly and the rooms comfortable & spacious. They also had our room ready when we arrived at 7:00 AM! Very nice for the weary traveler. Overall it's a classy, comfortable and nice experience. Our room was located on an alley side of the hotel but near O'Connell St. so we had no view at all and noise from buses and vehicles in the morning.
Pure luxury of rooms, friendly and efficient staff, really relaxing experience, can't wait to go back!
The location The receptionist.
Decor of the hotel, comfortable rooms and extremely comfortable pillows Nothing to dislike.
The hotel is perfect in everyway. Fabulous central location. Staff very helpful and friendly. the Mint bar and staff was great. Can't wait to return.
easy access to grafton st poor choice menu for vegetarians
the staff, very very nice an helpful i liked everything
The quality of the room was excellent The in-room dining was not quite what I expected from the menu
We stay at hotels regularly in Dublin and were pleasantly surprised to find such delightful staff, lovely room and excellent service. I didn't realise the Atrium existed, a great place to meet friends either for lunch or an early evening drink.
Everyone was so helpful. The facilities are the best. The restaurant was wonderful. We loved absolutely everything !!!!! we hope to return one day.
It felt like a 5star experience.
relaxed, comfortable, luxurious and calm n/a
Amazing, hands down the best hotel experience I've ever had. World class staff, facilities and rooms.
The level of comfort and luxury of this hotel is amazing! The staff never stops to make an effort to make your stay as we said "Totally awesome!!" Nothing, it is a truly amazing hotel.
How relaxed one could be in the hotel and how easly one could stay there a whole weekend without leaving the hotel.
The staff were without exception incredibly cheerful and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful
Extremely courteous and helpful staff, without exception
The service and the convenience to the City The only point I would make is that our room had a musty smell which we put down to a previous occupant being a smoker.
Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. Room very comfortable and restaurant food lovely.
The service was superb. The surroundings and the quality of the room was amazing. Coffee in the lounge with an open fire was a highlight. The airconditioning/heating was unable to be adjusted and the room was too hot. The bed was a little hard.
location was excellent, staff good. room small, shower leaking
It's funky. Desk service was a bit slow. Staff were nice and there were plenty of them but but service was still slow.
the bed was lovely, big soft & very very comfortable! room was a little cramped (but lots of character). grouting in bathroom a little dirty and/or discoloured.
The Morgan is very central, located very close to the River Liffe (which is you are not familiar with Dublin, is a great help to navigating) - and close to a good selection of bars, cafes, restaurants and Trinity College and the Cathederals. The rooms very quite modern and stylised (which in terms of the sofas / chairs replaces any comfort) - but large and clean. The front rooms of the Hotel overlook quite a busy street (particularly at 2am on a Saturday night) and can be a little noisy. Our room card keys didnt work initially, and there was quite a long wait to have these changed as the reception desk gets very busy.
Good location, friendly staff and helpful Wi Fi in room was poor and intermittent
The room, gorgeous.. notting it was perfect.
We chose this hotel to surprise a friend who was getting married. as she was also staying at the hotel the night before we needed some assistance to avoid bumping into each other and spoiling the surprise for the next day.the manager len was amazing. his pride in the hotel was obvious and his willingness to assist in any way possible was the best customer service I have ever had.
The staff was extremely helpful and prompt. The room was extremely comfortable and the onlone access was very convenient, as my wireless became disabled. The location was tops, and I wil stay here again. One detail, I have not yet received my bill by email, and it has been 5 days.
The Decor of the Bedroom. The room was hot and a little noisy.
Great location and nice room. Shower was a little compact.
Location was brilliant and great value for money. Was a little nosy at nights but what else do you expect from being in the middle of Temple Bar?! Already planning next trip and will definately be staying at The Morgan.
the bar nothing
Excellent location for the price. Not a premium hotel but perfect if you're on a budget and want to be in the center of everything. Noise echoes through halls at night, outside street noise at any hour.
central location no tea making facilities in room and rooms small
The hotel is located on Dame Street which is directly in front of Trinity College main entrance and on the edge of Temple Bar District. Because we were staying for a week, we opted not to have housekeeping come in every day. The housekeeping staff left bundles of towels, shampoo and toilet paper outside our door to restock the room. The bathroom needed maintenance. There was mold growing on the wall above the door and the grout was discolored with mildew. The toilet leaked and made the room smell of sewer. It was unusually warm the first day we were there. They don't have air-conditioning; which is understandable but there were no fans available and the windows only open a few inches. The area outside our window was filled with several mechanical units which were rather loud.
Brilliant location - couldn't have asked for better! Staff very friendly and room was ready when we got there at 9am after our early flight! Have already recommended to friends! Sheets were marked and all the rails in the bathroom were coming off the wall but fine otherwise!
i was very clean and near why I needed to be,unfortunatly my wife could not make the trip to add her comment no
the room was small, but spotless and modern. good location and the price was very cheap for bein in the centre of Temple Bar the lift was tiny and my friend felt a little claustrophobic.Bein in the middle of temple bar meant that it was a noisy area, and we could hear the music that was playin the down stairs bar in our room!! But saying that we werent in the room for too long and it wouldnt put me off stayin there again
Good location Location is a bit noisy if you are after a good nights sleep
Location Very very very noisy.
Its so central Room a bit small
Liked the bar and central location. Some of our group stayed on the 1st floor and found their room very noisy! Specially with the music from the club playing so loud!
the location was excellent right in the middle of dublin The hotel bar closed no drinks even though you stayed there
I was a little hesitant on getting a hotel in Temple Bar - it's a noisy pub crawl neighborhood, but that all went away when I stepped inside. It's on the far end of Temple Bar, near O'Connel Street, but that means it's central to everything. I was able to drop off my luggage early so I could explore Dublin for the day. I also got upgraded from a single room to a double with no extra charge. Room was quiet - during the day you could occasionally here slot machines outside the window, but I can't complain. Never heard the bar crowd. Great facilities, never got to check out the pool or breakfast but I'm sure they're both wonderful. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Dublin, for either business or leisure.
Cleanliness Street noise and sarcastic security staff.
Excellent location, lovely suite. Really comfortable bed. Perfect
The James Joyce Suite was beautiful, so well appointed and comfortable. Very pleasant and professional staff. All-day breakfast was very nice. So central for anything in Dublin City. Highly recommended . Very high standards overall and good value for your money. No, it does give what the profile says.
The hotel room had been well renovated and was very comfortable and accessible. I would have like cooling options like air conditioning or a fan and a few hair products.
The W.B.Yeats Suite was beautiful and very well decorated, it was luxury home from home. The Wifi was fast and free. Very good value and superb location in the Centre of Dublin City. Sound proof windows work well also. All day breakfast was excellent . Highly recommended
Room was fab... Amazing!! Oscar Wild Suite! Complimentary wine, biscults, chocolate & the regular tea/coffee making facilities! Very central. No staff there at any time (No foyer) - this did suit us but I could see how others might find it irritating if they needed assistance etc!
Being in Temple Bar, noise on street till 4... Not really a hotel, just 4 suites.. And Shower not working.. Not good enough at that money!
Location was perfect-close to everything, Well appointed room with all amenities well thought out. Staff was very friendly. Sound proof windows. Very spacious.and clean. The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom door was glass and only part was frosted which was a bit strange.
big and clean rooms, good location. Very limited hot water in wash basin. The rooms are located near the night club so it's noisy during the night.
Excellent location.. brilliant interiors.. Friendly staff.. Lovely facilities..
the room was clean and pleasant. The hotel was hard to get to, gated doors etc. This hotel was also above a sex shop and managed by its workers. There was no one around to seek help. This should not be classified as a 5 star hotel. This is just a clean apartment with sex dvds available.
Loved everything! Very comfortable. Great location! Staff & service in the hotel & restaurant were very attentive, pleasant, & just all around wonderful! Not being able to adjust the air in my room... I'm always cool by nature. Extra blankets were provided!
Comfortable city hotel with interesting decor. Better lighting in the rooms for reading.
Location was great--close enough to walk to Temple Bar, Trinity College and many other points of interest. Staff was very helpful--upgraded our room without any trouble when we expressed our disappointment in our "superior" room. Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful and the one dinner we had there was very good.
The purple lobby and hallways are rather awesome. The breakfast set up is well done. Garish, uncomfortable rooms located directly over a firestation where a fire engine runs 24/7. On a busy weekend, sirens go off regularly, pigeons fly in the window if you ppem it and the staff are harried.
Central location. Helpful staff. Reasonable rates. Quiet area of Dublin Slightly gloomy decor - mood lighting in bedroom and public areas - would have liked some brighter lighting in bedroom
We stayed in one of the Georgian sweets which unfortunately didn't have an elevator but the concierge was amazing, from bringing out bags up to valeting the car to calling a cab for us to go enjoy the city. Beautiful room very comfortable bed and huge bathroom. The only negative I would say was the service in the bar. We stopped in upon arrival to grab a quick bite to eat which did not end up being quick. It seemed like the staff was more interested in talking to eachother than helping us, and when I finally flagged the bartender down he asked us if we were in a hurry, not the kind of service you would expect from a hotel of this status. On the up side the food and drinks were great and we just opted for room service for dinner.
Location was good, staff was friendly. Our room was dissappointing. Got a Deluxe room. No air conditioning so we had to open window. Very noisy being on the street. Room was small, bathroom was small and not very nice.
Good location for shopping and Landsdowne Rd
lovely breakfast, nice room, location was good. no complaints at all. the temperature too warm
Location was convenient and pub was vibrant Construction noise was extremely loud.
I was looking forward to my stay in the hotel after looking at the pictures on the website. It turned out to be a very beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The restaurant food was delicious!!! I have no complaints!
No air conditioning. Very hot at night
the staff and the comfort of the rooms were grear there should be a safety box in the rooms
Location is excellent with free car park. Rooms are basic and I was unable to control heat in room satisfactorily.
Proximity to the shops and resturants. We used the nearby luas stop to go to dundrum shopping centre...never realised how easy it was. Staff very helpful. room spacious and very warm...had to turn off radiator. we stayed on friday night and there was a lot of noise on street between 4 amd 5 am. This was not the hotels fault but if I was there again, I would request a different room.
Well positioned good facilities food ok The road system in dublin is a nightmare finding the hotel was a miricle due to the one way system and no signs
nice, friendly place
Very clean, friendly staff, nice location
The Bar Area Bedroom decore to plan and not as shown on website
THe reception staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. All good!!
Convenient for my meetings, also easy acess to city and south side via the Luas line. No.
good clean, nice large room.
Bartender Rooms way too small; poor quality of linens and blankets
Location and Staff Expensive Breakfast
Friendly staff, comfortable room, good restaurant
The hotel is located in central Dublin and within walking distance of Trinity College as well as the National Museum. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We got in very early and there is a lounge downstairs with internet, couches, etc. They brought us a tray with tea and coffee which was lovely! I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very good restaurant, pleasant bar.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel and the room were clean and very well maintained.
Excellent staff so friendly and with great attention to details. Twin room very spacious and clean with every convenience. Exceptional breakfast great choice and plentiful. Nothing
Reception is so kind.
I loved the television that was in the wall at the end of the bath. The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the staff were friendly.
Brooks is a beautiful hotel in central Dublin. We walked to Dublin castle and business. There's tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. We also walked to Kilmainen gaol, but we took the bus back. We were on the street side but it was quiet at night. Beautiful older hotel with modern amenities!
Location, decor Very small standard room, but to be expected in larger city
Staff all very friendly and helpful, comfortable bed and nicely appointed room, great location A minor quibble - there is no celebratory sparkling wine on the wine list under 100 Euro unless you like Prosecco which we find too sweet. Surely an Antipodean methode champenois or drier style cava could be added to the wine list?
The location was good Reception staff were not friendly
The rooms were spacious and staff friendly.
Size of room No bath No toilet brush Bathroom too dark Way too distant from city centre Hot breakfast......not
rooms were lovely, comfortable, clean and quiet and I would certainly book again. the person I was staying at the hotel with suffers from claustrophobia so she would not use the lift and also the breakfast room did not have a window to see out, so she was a little anxious. however she thoroughly enjoyed her stay and the facilities. the breakfast was the best we had on our trip. thanks also to your excellent helpful staff. will come back for sure.
Location Broken forniture and no min bar
Comfort and Facilities of Room
it's location noisy outside at night with car horns blaring until middle of the night and revellers leaving nearby pubs and clubs
Large Bedroom, the location, Spacious and light in the comunual rooms
Great VALUE for being so well centered. Great walking to main drag on shopping, the park and about .75 miles to Temple Bar. Beds were comfortable and staff was attentive on needs. They never cleaned our room for a two night stay had to ask for new towels. Quiet enough if you have a room in the back. Bit dated in common areas.
20 minutes' walk from the city center. Adequate breakfast. It was very disappointing, instead of a 4-star hotel I found one that barely deserved 2. The rooms were very small, no AC, heating didn't work. No Internet access neither free nor paid. Very old rooms, very noisy (both from outside the hotel and other rooms).
staff attentive and very hepful. Very surprised to have to pay for internet access. I found this highly unusual in an upscale hotel.
Beautiful hotel, comfortable bed nice bath very nice clean comfortable room with very friendly staff. I would definitely stay there again. The only thing its a bet pricy. The breakfast should have been included in my room rate and what I paid. Overall very good place to stay. Very nice renovated bathroom and room while remained the AA status of the hotel.. The breakfast was not included in the room rate I paid.
the rooms were comfortable and spacious the noise from the street during the night was horrendous
Central location The noisy nightclub next door
The breakfast that we probably paid for was not available until 7.30. That is late in terms of business travel, and we in fact left at 7.00. and bought breakfast at the airport.
Overall a clean and welcoming building, with friendly staff who are more than willing to go the extra mile. All the staff greet you with a smile and seem genuinely pleased to help. Small restaurant menu, but excellent food - impressive portion sizes, tasty and excellent value for money. If I hadn't already booked and paid for one of my evening meals at another location, I would happily have eaten here every night. Room was clean with all the usual facilities and toiletries. Being very picky, liquid soap would be better than bars of soap! Sliding door didn't always open properly and one of the lamps was faulty.
Good quality, well-run hotel well within walking distance of Dublin's main sights. Not right on the Green as the name would imply but good nonetheless. Quality bar and breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff and a comfortable if not overwhelming room. Would stay again if the price was right.
the room was large and in good taste, breakfast ok. A most dull, uninteresting hotel. there is no effort on the part of anybody to make this hotel a lived in place! the same fault as in the other two O Callaghan Hotels I stayed in. Staff is most uninvolved and uncaring.
The staff was most helpful. The location in Dublin was great for touring and ease of use. The rooms were very nice. Lovely bathrooms. Breakfast was pricey for food offered.
Very average accomodation. Good location. Reasonably priced for late booking. Girl at reception unfriendly but efficient.
Great location in the centre of the city. The room was lovely with a nice big bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Parts of the hotle were very cold and breakfast ended very early on a Sunday
Location to the main shopping area in the city.
Good, helpful staff
Poor quality of service at reception
The friendliness of the staff was a big plus in the hotel's favour. The room was pleasantly furnished and the location was great for trips into Dublin city. We had a twin room booked at a rate of €79 per night for the room, but learned that the usual rate (especially at weekends) is at least €200 per person sharing. Whilst the hotel is very nice, it is not a luxury hotel and such prices are outrageous. I would not have stayed there for that price.
I've stayed there a few times, things happen efficiently, always consistent.
Proximity to city centre. Parking is expensive in the city centre.
Beautiful room and the food in the restaurant was excellent , staff attentive. The location is perfect to see Dublin. No dressing gowns in room and no tea/coffee in room although there is a 24 hr room service.
The location and the rooms were very good. The staff were very friendly. The workout facilities were limited.
The location on the Quay and just backing onto Temple Bar (so it isn't too noisy either), the nicely done refurbishing of the original arts and crafts design/style including the wood panelling, the Octagon Bar and the Tea Room were all highlights. Very good bed linens, and comfortable bed and pillows. The Clarence has a bit of 'cool factor' about it too which never hurts! We were a bit disappointed in the room decor, which was rather uninteresting, and even Ikea-ish which for us is definitely not a plus. Blonde wood furniture in an otherwise darker wood arts and crafts movement sensibility seemed odd. Rooms were very bland and smallish which isn't surprising in an older hotel of course.
Location is good for the Clarence, you can walk to most places Can get noisy especially as the room is hot and opening the window means it gets very loud
Everything was just perfect. The staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A refreshing place to stay We had to leave!
The hotel is in a great location where everything happens. For young couples that like to stay out late this is really great. The service is great. The rooms are not very spacious, and we paid a big price while the view from the window was not on the street but inside square of the hotel so our window faced other hotel rooms windows. You would expect to get a better view in a suite.
When I arrived, I was shown to a very small room, clearly the worst in the hotel, with barely room to walk around the bed and a view of the air con system outside. However, when I immediately complained, I was given I more suitable room within ten minutes. The service was exemplary. The staff were very, very, good, and the hotel was clean. The breakfast was nice, as was my antipasto platter I had in the bar before the gig. I think that the lack of coffee machine in the room is a big drawback. I've stayed in many hotels of this price range, and I think that a Nespresso machine or something like that is important, considering the price of the rooms. I like to have coffee before I see anybody, and that includes the room service waiter. The quality of the room service coffee was not acceptable, either. Also, the selection of toiletries was inadequate and not up to the standard of other similar hotels we've stayed in. Inchydoney, Cliff house hotel in ardmore, The Westbury, all similar prices, all have more facilities in the room, decent toiletries, and a coffee machine. I'm afraid I will not be recommending the CLarence, I prefer the Westbury ~in Dublin.
No nonsense good service. Very good restaurant for both dinner and breakfast.
The room was so quiet, clean & comfortable with every convenience.
The positioning of the hotel was quite good I was quite dissapointed by the Clarence. I am glad I only paid a reduced rate for the room, it was very noisy all night (due to a constant hum from the nearby boiler) The window had to be open as the room was stifling! A fan was provided but obviously the noise from the fan was not conducive to a good nights sleep!
personal service noice
