Pros: Friendly staff, nice facility, pool was nice.
Cons: Extremely Noisy plumbing and really, really slow wifi.
The Country Inn & Suites Charlottesville is conveniently located on Emmet Street N, just off the 250 Bypass, and less than three miles from both the UVA campus and downtown Charlottesville. The hotel offers complimentary Be Our Guest Hot Breakfast, an indoor heated pool, fitness center, and guest laundry facilities. Every room includes complimentary Wi-Fi, microwave, refrigerator, and 50 inch television.
Pros: Location was great. The rooms were clean. No microwave, but refrigerator in room. Staff greeted us each time we came in and were very helpful.
Cons: The staff at front desk were friendly and helpful and very nice. I had called front desk from my room to cancel a day early and was told they were booked solid and turning people away and that I could leave early, but would still owe for the room. She was not particularly nice about it. We were told we could cancel 24 hours before when we had purchased online. However, when we did check out, the lady at front desk this time (different lady) was very nice and said there was no problem with us cancelling a day early and that we could in fact get reimbursed.
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, excellent continental breakfast, clean facilities, great location
Pros: The location was perfect for dropping my son off at UVA. It was close to campus and also central to the shops we needed to pick up supplies. The room was clean, comfortable and modern, even had a mini fridge.
Cons: They had some sort of 'air freshener' or scent they were blasting in the entry doors and lobby. It was a very strong smell and while it wasn't an unpleasant odor, it was like being stuck in an elevator with someone wearing too much perfume.
Pros: Room was wonderful, comfortable, modern. Nicely appointed. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was better than the average free breakfast, more choices, good hot choices.
Very convenient to good restaurants and shopping (walking distance) and centrally located in the Charlottesville area for easy access to bypass and surrounding areas.
Cons: Only complaint was the cost of snacks at the front desk. More than $2 for a soda, and $2.50 for a tiny cupcake. I strongly suggest making sure you stop somewhere and bring in your own snacks. No vending available in halls, only ice.
Pros: The room and location were fantastic.
Cons: The staff was weird esp. the overnight staff. We were there for a pre Valentines Day excursion. We are adults and we smoke so we were in our car discussing something funny and the overnight manager (presumably a politically correct college student) mistook my wife smacking me on the arm as some form of domestic abuse and called the police. We were horribly embarrassed and will stay somewhere else next time.
Pros: Room was new, clean, modern an quiet; great hot free breakfast with starbucks coffee; friendly staff!
Pros: The hotel was very clean, the staff helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Great location good proximity to nice restaurants.
Pros: Clean and friendly staff
Pros: very convenient new, clean and easy to stay there

Cons: Very loud with train! And there was no real warning about that. Otherwise, a very nice stay.
Pros: Location was perfect;within walking distance to pedestrian mall, free trolley. Staff friendly.
Cons: As early risers, it'd be nice to have coffee brewed, available prior to 7:30 breakfast. The staff did offer to put pot, coffee out for me to make, but I was not comfortable entering their work area.

Cons: Was woken up very early, lots of banging doors, not sure if it was housekeeping staff or early travelers.
Pros: Free breakfast included
Cons: I will try to summarize this as best as possible. Let's just say that they royally screwed up our reservation and the funny part is the room they messed up was for someone on the Board of the College of UVA which is right next to the school. Then not only could they not explain how it was fouled up, but even with the confirmation number they could not figure out if it was someone at central booking or the local hotel. On top of that I found out that they have people stay there that are visiting the medical school and often stay past their reservations. They will not be kicked out, so if they don't have a room for you that's just your tough luck. Basically you cannot trust that a reservation made at this hotel will be honored so tread lightly.

Pros: Front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful to us as my son and I visited UVA for Days on the Lawn. Our room was clean and seemed recently renovated. The space was well designed. My favorite thing may have been the eggs at breakfast: scrambled with ham and cheese! Yum! All in all an excellent experience. I will definitely come again.
Pros: The staff was so warm and helpful. Kudos to William at the front desk! The room was clean and well appointed. Completely met our expectations.
Pros: Right off the bat, every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. The room we had was extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. The sheets were soft and so fresh you could smell it. Breakfast every morning was great and tasty. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to downtown for dinner. We can't say enough about how great our experience was. Thank you
Pros: I enjoyed my stay here, the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Pros: Very cozy place, Excellent restaurant, staff was friendly and cordial.
Typical southern hospitality.
Three Craftsman-era residences have undergone a careful historic renovation to provide the comforts of a modern hotel (a fourth building offers finely-furnished apartments with full kitchens for stays of one to three months). Seventeen guest rooms and 10 suites feature contemporary American furnishings, vintage hardwood floors, custom-made Queen and King-size beds, luxury linens, and fast, free wi-fi. Two rooms have a kitchenette. There are four libraries where you can sit by a fire with a book and a coffee or cocktail from our Bistro Bar. Our bistro serves breakfast and lunch daily. We are located directly adjacent to UVA's "South Lawn," Oakhurst Inn is a quarter-mile walk from Scott Stadium and the UVA Health System. Our residential setting in a National Historic District is across the street from the University's Central Grounds, where Thomas Jefferson's famed Lawn and Rotunda comprise a noted UNESCO World Heritage site. A free "trolley" is available for the 1.5-mile trip to historic downtown.
Pros: This is one of the nicest Residence Inns I stay at.
Very nice rooms.
Every staff member I've spoken to has been polite and helpful.
I am a person who usually avoids the free breakfast at hotels because they are always terrible. I actually like it here! And the staff is very attentive to keeping things clean and organized.
Their shuttle service is also very helpful and every driver has been friendly.
Cons: It's a bit expensive. I understand it's downtown, but this is Charlottesville, not a town most people have heard of, so.... However, the hotel is in pristine condition, so it's really not a huge negative, as it is mostly worth the money.

Pros: Great coffee shop and restaurant. Excellent location and friendly and helpful staff
Pros: I love the hotel's theme and decor - rustic collegiate. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains blocked out a lot of light! The location was great - just around the corner from UVA and a leisurely walk to the downtown mall (about 1 mile). The staff was welcoming and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again!
Cons: Air conditioning was not working. Hvac unit ran all night. Room was very hot
Basic, bright, and compact, all guestrooms offer free WiFi, premium bedding, and flat-screen TVs with both free and pay channels. Select rooms also feature microwaves and mini-fridges.
Pros: The whole place is so dated! Looks like the 70's. Bathrooms are small and cramped . Pool area and exercise plus the lobby need to be complely redone.
Pros: Location is excellent, which is why we stayed there. Right on the downtown pedestrian mall. Every single member of the staff I encountered was great..
Cons: The supposed "premium" room was tiny. It's window overlooked the lobby, and it was adjacent to the elevator shaft. Considering this, I feel this hotel is over-priced and a questionable value, at least this particular room.. previous stays here were more pleasant, however, still, for Charlottesville, overpriced.
Pros: Exceptional service and accommodations. Great location with plenty of shops and dining steps away.
Cons: No complaints.
Pros: Great location on the Charlottesville Mall. Pleasant hotel with a business-visit atmosphere.
Cons: We stayed when the price was reduced, which is the only time I think the Omni is worth the money. For the orindary nightly rate (>$250-300/night), I prefer to stay at a B&B, Boars Head, or even a vacation rental.
Omni Charlottesville Hotel is a 20-minute drive from Charlottesville Airport and walking distance from the eateries and boutiques at the Downtown Mall. For local excursions, guests can go hiking at Shenandoah National Park or wine tasting at Barboursville Vineyards, both about 30 minutes away.
Pros: The overall vibe of the hotel is very calm and peaceful. We really liked being able to walk to the restaurant on site and spa site from our room. We stayed in a lake view room with a generous patio, just wished it was warmer for us to spend more time out there! The room was clean and very spacious. The staff at check in/out were very hospitable as well as our servers, Daisy and Nancy, at the Old Mill Room.
Cons: Honestly, our stay was excellent. My only gripe would be beyond the control of the hotel.. Some of the others guests were a bit uppity. It made me uncomfortable to watch them talk down to the staff.
Pros: Overall it was a nice stay. The restaurant was very good as well. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the noise level. Asked for a quiet room, got placed next to a staff closet. This door was repeatedly slammed from early to mid morning. Sleeping in was one of the goals of the getaway so that wasn't awesome. Overall great hotel though, nice facility, plenty to do on the grounds. Would go back, but would ask for a different room.
Pros: restaurant very good-- gluten friendly ---staff attentive ---but can be in a rush at dinner time
Cons: view from the room --- terrible looking over roof with equipment
Pros: Paths for walking. Spa amenities very nice.
Cons: Room service breakfast was not hot. It is a long way from their kitchen (have to go outside) to many of the rooms but they should have some kind of hot box to account for that.
Pros: We loved our stay. Friendly staff, comfortable room, bed, and porch. Outstanding sorts facilities, close to town and Blue Ridge mointains, affordable breakfast, breath taking surroundings. ,
Pros: Spacious, tasteful room with a private patio overlooking the lake. Beautiful grounds, quiet, peaceful, yet only 5 minutes to downtown Charlottesville.
Pros: Room amenities and bedding comfortable
Cons: We paid for a room with a view and balcony and got neither.

Pros: Location on campus; proximity to inner city Charlottesville
Cons: A wall air conditioning unit that made the noise of a B-747 at takeoff thrust.
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Historic feel.
Cons: Bed uncomfortable. Lack of insulation under door - could hear normal hallway conversations distinctly. Blinds did not block light from outside walkway.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and pleasant. I liked the small, quiet feel to the place. I found it convenient to grab some food at the cafe. The front desk people were nice and helpful. I enjoyed the snacks in the lobby. I am glad to know that health club facilities are available.
Cons: Parking was initially confusing and somewhat distant. I ran to Grounds and had to run under a narrow railroad bridge, so that made the location a bit less desirable for me.
Pros: Ideal location, staff were very friendly and accomodating, room was well furnished, bed was VERY comfortable
Cons: Slight smell of cleaner noticeable in the room
Pros: super friendly and professional
Pros: Great staff that went above and beyond to help us resolve an issue with a dress that was shipped there prior to our arrival. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Right on campus and gorgeous grounds
Pros: Charming location right on the campus of the UVA Business school. Beautiful grounds and nicely-run hotel.
Cons: You won't find a pool or other amenities, if that's important to you. Also not walking distance to the outdoor mall area.

Ideally situated in the heart of Charlottesville, each of our 177 guest rooms feature complimentary WiFi, work desk & lounge chair, flat screen TV, microwave, mini-fridge, and coffeemaker. UVA Inn at Darden is also home to a myriad of full-service event and meeting spaces complete with on-site dining, catering, and planning services. Contact our Reservations Team at 434-243-5000.
Pros: Proprietors very friendly. Nice offering of self-made breakfast - eggs, local bread, fruits and jams.
Pros: The owner was friendly
Cons: I did not realize it was a bed and breakfast in someone's house. We drove around for about a hour trying to figure out where our hotel was because the address was in a residential district with no sign.
This was just like staying at my house. While that might sound like a good thing, I too live in and older house in some need of updating and in a working class neighborhood well away from the center of things. That's why I don't plan on opening the place as a B and B anytime soon.
Pros: Owner, Ravan, was nice and helpful when I decided at the last minute to bring family.
Cons: Location. Room size. Room smell. Breakfast. Constant harping about payment in cash.
In a neighborhood near downtown Charlottesville. Nice place if you are up for meeting people while traveling, but if you want to be alone, go to a hotel. The couple that owns the place were very nice.
Pros: Not a hotel and not a B&B, just a nice couple renting out some beds.
Cons: The couple that were next door to the room where I was sleeping were up during all hours and not courteous, even at 3 am they acted like they were the only ones in the place :/ This isn't the owners fault.
Fairhaven is home away from home. They have thought of everything. Hosts, Flayme and Raven, are delightful and very accomodating. It was my daughter's birthday and they put lovely potted plants in our room to bring joy and color to an otherwise very cold evening. You will fall asleep immediately as the mattress is very good. Good neighborhood so limited noise from street. Other guests were fun and like minds. We have already arranged for a future stay. We highly recommend.
Pros: We had a wonderful experience. Much better than the other guest house/hostel in Charlottsville. Accomodations were perfect. Hosts were delightful. Other guests were fun. We have already arranged for future stay. We highly recommend Fairhaven.
Cons: Zero complaints or concerns.
Fairhaven Guesthouse puts you within a 10-minute drive of Virginia Discovery Museum and Downtown Mall. Free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Also, Monticello and Rotunda are within a short drive.
Pros: The staff was friendly and very accommodating.
I will definitely stay there again, soon.
It's right next to Starbuck's and large selection of eateries.
Pros: Staff was very nice. Rooms were clean. Restitant was nice good food
Pros: The hotel and room were spotless. Room was quite large, extremely comfortable bed and bedding, nicely laid out, beautiful view of pond with white swans and ducks..
I requested a quiet location and they happily accommodated me. I'm an insomniac, and 10 minutes of continual noise means being awake for several hours. It was extremely quiet, so this was wonderful.
The lighting in the very clean bathroom was also better than average for putting on makeup, & lots of counterspace. .
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was better than I anticipated. Definitely returning.
Cons: WiFi in room very slow & cut out, I gave up using my device.
No complimentary continental breakfast, coffee and tea only.
We don't eat a full breakfast, which was the only option, and it's not worth paying $11 per person for a muffin and banana. Fortunately, there is a Starbucks 5 minutes away at the top of the hill.

Pros: Front desk reps were excellent - extremely helpful and friendly. Liked the rooms, lobby, breakfast, free wifi, use of business center, etc.
Pros: Very close to everything...we went for a trip to the vineyards, family friendly, very clean, staff was great and accommodating!
Cons: Coffee could have been better but hey it was free haha other than that no real complaints at all thank you for a great time
Pros: We were only at Fairfield for a short time, but was definitely impressed. I was pleased to see the quality of the facility for the price I paid.
Cons: Can't say I disliked anything about Fairfield Inn. They even let is check-out late, which allowed us to fully rest before heading back down the road.

Pros: I sprung for a nicer hotel on this trip because I had some extra money and I was visiting my mom in the hospital so I was under extra stress. I wish I had of saved my money now. I know this might seem unfair but it's just because of breakfast. Why should I pay substantially more and get less out of it? Plus the prices at the breakfast bar were really over inflated; I'm a restaurant manager so I know food cost. It all felt designed to milk every penny out of me for the duration of my visit. Even the wi-fi had a faster version that cost extra. I won't stay there again.
Cons: I don't like it when I over pay for something that's just ok and then don't get as much out of it as I would at cheaper places.

You can go for a morning swim at the indoor pool and visit the fitness center for a workout. Rooms feature bonuses like kitchenettes and sofa beds, along with flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Studio room was very spacious and well equipped with full size fridge, dishes, pots, cups, glasses, silverware. Very quiet room. The complimentary breakfast buffet was the best we ever had in a hotel.
Cons: The air-conditioning was a bit noisy.
Pros: Location was excellent. The Staff and the facilities could not have been better.
Pros: This was a nice hotel convenient to downtown and UVA. They had an excellent, free breakfast buffet.
Cons: I GOT BED BUGS!!!!!!
Cons: got bed bugs
Cons: the room is pretty big. but very noise. also, the toilet paper was near running out at very beginning.
Pros: Room is spacious and well equiped.
Cons: The exercise room is not very big, but I liked the equipment they had.
Pros: Friendly staff
The staff was very friendly. Complimentary breakfast was hot and offered a variety of food choices to fit many diets. I will definitely come back to this hotel on my next stay in Charlottsville.
Pros: The room layout was perfect. Separate sleeping and lounging area. The bed was very comfortable. I didn't want to get out of bed!
Pros: Easy to park. Walk to restaurants. AC was good and not too noisy. Clean.
Cons: Bathroom was too small.
wonderful location, walking distance to shopping center, coffee and food, wonderful staff at each of our many stays. Comfortable, and we especially like having living room, kitchen dining table, etc. Feels cosy and more like home, but the bed gets made by someone else!
Pros: Always a great stay. The ladies who put out breakfast, Susan, Maria, Bernadette welcome new or returning guests with charm and warmth, starting each of our days with a smile. People at front desk also very nice.Marisa went several extra miles for us.
Despite the noise factor, this was an overall a good, clean, friendly hotel and we would stay again.
Pros: Staff was friendly; breakfast was fresh (and free), parking was easy. Also very close distance to UVA.
Cons: Room was not equipped with hair dryer. Thin walls allowed us to hear noise from every room around and above us as well as from hallway. Probably the most noise we've heard at any hotel.

Pros: We didn't stay but a night but really loved the pool area and the bar/restaurant. Our server was very nice and everything tasted great. We picked the cheapest room option so we knew it wasn't going to be fancy, but still very nice and clean. The beds and pillows were much more comfortable than I imagined. Very pleased with our stay.
Pros: Loved the pool, spa and gym facilities. They have a nice open, relaxing terrace feel. TJ's is a nice restaurant and convenient. The executive floor is affordable and includes breakfast and evening cocktail hour--a good value.
Cons: Rooms should include a minibar and on-demand tv.
Pros: Good location. Hotel staff very friendly. Rooms are well maintained and roomy. Always enjoy the cookie at check in.
Cons: Wish they would have a mini fridge in room.
Cons: We were very disappointed with this location. We don't get to travel very often so we were really looking forward to staying in what we thought was a "nice" hotel. This location shouldn't be able to have the Hilton name. We stayed in a room that was very damp and had mold growing in the bathroom. I'm sick now from staying in that room. When we told the guy at the front desk, he did say that we was very sorry, but didn't do anything else. We will not be staying at this hotel anymore.
Pros: The room was enormous! Beautiful views, very clean hotel. Great service.

Cons: The room temperature was set on 65° in the middle of winter, and there was no way to change it. I froze all night.
Pros: Pleasant staff. Clean room.
Pros: Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms
Cons: Late night guests made a bit of noise coming/going from rooms and chatting in the hallways
Cons: That you didn't have coffee in the lobby as a courtesy for your customers. I had to stay another night in Charlottesville due to weather and moved to another hotel. Their rates were better, had coffee, chocolate chip cookies, lemonade, cheese and crackers as a courtesy, the staff were much more engaging, and they even picked me up at the drs office and took me to the hotel. The accommodations were just as nice.
Pros: I loved the hotel overall. The staff that greeted us were very professional and friendly. The room looked like it had been recently updated and had some nice modern amenities. The cafe located in the hotel was alright as far as the food. Nothing great and nothing bad.
Cons: We didh have a hard time finding our room because there was what they called a terrance level which was labeled 0 an not 1 like most hotels. But after the first night we got the hang of it.
Pros: Very clean. New rooms. Paid one hundred sixty seven dollars for one night with king bed. Free parking. Breakfast not included. Just a few miles from UVA campus. Rooms are a bit noisy. Recommended, would stay here again.
