Pros: The staff were all extremely friendly. The pool was one of the best in town, and the price couldn't be beat. I suspect we won't be paying $149 for this place next year. I highly recommend getting a room ending in 59....best view in the hotel, trust me.
Cons: Afternoon sun blazing into the windows in the lobby bar/lounge area. They need to get some shades in the windows near the top. We left because it got too bad.

Pros: The entire experience from check-in to check-out. Nearly everything you need is onsite, and great access to downtown, incl. Rainey Street bars/restaurants and Sixth Street.
Cons: Parking at $32/night is additional, requires just a bit of learning how to use the room key to get in and out of the garage underneath the hotel. Easy once you know how to use the proximity sensor on the exit gate, though.

Pros: I was placed in a recently upgraded room. Fit and finish was very modern, very clean, and comfortable for my 5 night stay. Restaurant and room service was very good. The location of the hotel was great. Directly next to Congress St. Bridge (bat bridge), pretty cool If you get a chance to check it out. The hotel sits directly on the recreation trail circling Lady Bird Lake, this was a great place to go for a walk or run. A quick walk across the bridge also put you in the core of downtown with lots of restaurant choices, Austin city limits, etc. The workout facility was also very nice and open 24 hours/ day. Overall great hotel and would stay again.
Cons: Only reccomedation would be to have the simple sundries store open 24 hrs./ Day providing acces to snacks , medicines, etc. this would be a nice convenience and seems viable that it could be staffed by one of the night desk attendants as it is located right at the front desk anyway. Other than that, great stay.

Pros: We came for my 21st birthday on 6th street and I can't imagine picking a better place. They did everything they had to do to keep it classy and cool headed as it's located on one of the busiest and most popular tour attractions in Texas. We only live 45 mins away but Austin is my go to. I LOVE it there. I had friends come up and get ready in the room and hang out before and a little afterwards but only 4 of us stayed in the room and it was everything I could have asked for and more!!! The "haunted" back ground give this place an edge and with the timelessness of the Titanic, it makes the Driskill a MUST DO in terms of staying ATX. 10/10 recommend.
Cons: Nothing- I would change nothing

Pros: Bed was amazing, architecture was beautiful, right in the heart of 6th street entertainment district

Cons: The valet was torn up with construction. The lobby and hallways literally smelt like a sewer. The mezzanine was stacked with old furniture. The once famous bar was loud noisy and also smelt like a sewer. The bathroom had chipped paint and a cracked floor length mirror. There was no counter space in the bathroom. The glass top furniture had dried paint drops on top from lack of a drop cloth.
Excellent
9.1
Pros: The hotel decor and ambiance is very nicely done, makes you feel like you are in the midst of royalty. The bed is very comfortable. The service is excellent, we needed a few extra things since my wife wanted to celebrate my birthday. The bakery downstairs made a real good cake. The location of the hotel is great, it is right in the middle of the nightlife of Austin and makes going bar hopping or clubbing that much easier, cant imagine a better location.
Cons: The elevator floor tiles were duck taped on which was odd. The room is a little small by texas standards but ok by NY standards. There is a surprising number fo bums on the streets outside, just ignore them and be on your own way, if you are from NYC you'll be fine but even otherwise nothing to be alarmed of. A bit pricey.
Excellent

Pros: Beautiful historic hotel. Great staff. Great central location. Food was amazing in Cafe and at the Grill. Dog friendly (they have doggie concierge kits with bed, bowls, treats and poop bags).
Cons: The petite rooms really are petite, so be aware of that when you book, but in all honestly, you're only there to sleep and shower so it's definitely not a deal breaker.

Pros: The room was very comfortable. We liked that we could do everything from eat, sleep and drink from the hotel.
Cons: The process in the bar were a little bit higher than we would have liked.

Pros: The location was awesome, the staff was super friendly and very accommodating, the room was clean and had an amazing view of downtown. Overall it was perfect for a couple of girlfriends and I to getaway and explore austin.
Cons: One thing that I didn't like was that the pool was extremely crowded every day and night that we were there. There was barely room to get IN the pool (you were pretty much shoulder to shoulder in there) let alone find a chair to relax on because they were all taken. We were really excited about the pool too but turns out it wasn't so relaxing. That's my only complaint tho, this hotel was amazing so I can't blame everyone wanting to be there and to enjoy the pool as well.

Pros: Hotel decor was contemporary & swanky.

Pros: I liked how friendly the staff was. The entire place is super clean and nice. Accessible to many great restaurants and 6th st. Also there's a lake only two blocks away!
Cons: The only reason why I didn't give it a five stars rating is because the entrance to the parking lot is so busy. They only had one entrance and unless you valet you were waiting to get into the garage. On the upside the wait was less than 7 minutes. Also the pool bar needs more kore bartenders. The pool attendees were really nice once you flag them down for attention.

Pros: The JW is centrally located to the Austin downtown area and many trendy restaurants and bars were within walking distance. In addition, the room, staff and on-site restaurants were excellent.
Cons: When I spend that amount of money for a nightly accommodation, WiFi and Internet need to be a part of the package.

Pros: When we checked in there was a candy wrapper on floor, pieces of trash in closet and a small piece on bathroom floor. I had to call housekeeping to clean our room Saturday after 4:30 pm. They didn't wipe the tops of bedside tables that needed it.

Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt in Austin is a true Texas charmer that speaks to your inner rebel. Located on Rainey Street in the historic district, there’s always something to do and see around here that keeps Austin weird. Make a splash at our rooftop deck’s cool pool with cushy cabanas and coveted views. Sit for a show on our own stage and enjoy classic Texas food and drinks just how you want them in the most enviable setting. It’s a sophisticated kind of unconventional!

Pros: The view in our room overlooked the lake & it was simply gorgeous! The staff was very friendly and very attentive. We brought our dog & she was the star of the show. They provided a dog bed & food bowls for her. The beds were so comfortable!
Cons: Our bathrooms got clogged twice (not by any extra doing on our part). And our refrigerator never got cold so leftovers had to get thrown away from our dinner earlier that day. Geraldine's gets pretty packed at night, at least inside & there's one fireplace outside we tried to huddle around to keep warm.

9.7
Pros: The aesthetics, restaurant, staff and amenities were excellent. The bed was so comfortable! The only problems were that the shower took literally 20 minutes to get hot, (10 to just get warm) and I realized in the morning that I could hear every single person in the nearby rooms and out in the hall, clear as day. So if you are concerned about privacy, or don't want to hear what your neighbors are doing, you might want to go somewhere else. Otherwise, the place was wonderful.

6.8
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and well designed. Staff was friendly. "Wine hour" was fun, and very popular the night we were there. Bikes are free to rent and a great way to travel around the neighborhood.
Cons: Upsold to "lake view" room where you can really only see a sliver of the lake. It should be called "pool view" and on the weekend we stayed, the "pool view" is not relaxing or romantic. The rooms aren't quiet, you can hear everything that happens in the hallway. Valet was expensive ($36 + tip in Austin!) and slow due to volume of folks checking out. Cars are parked in an uncovered lot across the street.

Pros: Chatty & friendly at check-in, popping cold beers to welcome us. 3 Public Bikes waiting for us in lobby so we could explore Austin. Guy pumped up the tires for us. Around corner to great bars on Rainey Street. Friendly folks. Just a perfect short stay.

Pros: This is a really cool hotel, great pool, great location, really funky designs and furniture, we loved it. The street outside is probably the best place in Austin to go for a drink.
Cons: Not really the hotels fault but the pool area is busy and people get there early to 'reserve' sun lounges and then go back to their rooms. I hate this practice, if you're not using the sun lounge you shouldn't be able to 'save' it. It's selfish and childish.

Pros: Hotel was nice, close to everything, view from 19th floor was really nice facing 6th street. Nice fridge in the room and room was comfortable. Parking was easy although pricey. was a nice stay
Cons: Don't want to be overly negative here as I had a good stay, however couple things I like to point out. Movies are expensive to rent from on-demand most people probably won't, but 20 bucks seems high to me. (This unfortunately left a bad taste) Although there was nothing to say which line is for Honors members, if your not an Honors member and get in a long line to check in and that line happens to be for Honors members expect some Hilton person to look disgusted and call you out in front of everyone and divert you to another line like a red headed step-child. Basically if you stay at Hilton you better be an Honors member or your just some poor trash that needs to stay clear of the decent upstanding Honors members.

Pros: I just stayed in a hotel in California that was in need of updates. Once I stayed here in Austin, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on what was missing in that last hotel. The appointments were very modern, and there were USB ports everywhere. The lighting was all intelligently integrated, with functions that turned every light on from the door way, or just the entry, or a night light in the bathroom. The bathroom was very nice, not too big, not too small. I noticed that it had been impeccably up kept and that there wasn't damage from mold or anything like that. It's close to everything you want to do in downtown austin, though if you're looking for a run around or along the lake, you might be better off driving there.
Cons: The lobby was under construction, but that's not really a big deal. I'm assuming that most facilities have to look like that if they are going to modernize.

Pros: Hotel staff are very friendly and the lobby is very clean and comfy. Room was comfy. Loved the soaps and lotions provided in the room.
Cons: We didn't make use of the pool as it was very busy with no social distancing going on. AC couldn't keep up with the heat. We had to request a fan to our room to be able to sleep, but the bearings on it were shot so it made a loud grinding noise for about an hour before it warmed up. The bed is very low profile. We had mixed opinions about it.

Pros: Clean rooms, great location
Cons: The rooms have that very contemporary “hipster experience” feel but end up being super buggy. The IPTV box mounted behind my tv fell and broke. The lights behind the headboard of my bed, a nifty designer touch, stayed on all night. The shower doesn’t actually keep water in. None of these are dealbreakers, taken in aggregate though it feels like it’s an aesthetic bolted on to an old hotel (a Radisson, it turns out)

Pros: Miguel Dubose was very accommodating when I called needing to let my fiancé check in before I myself was able to arrive. Our cleaning lady was very friendly and when I asked for a fan for the room she made it happen. Our server Fransico was very personable and friendly.
Cons: Hmmm where do I start? Pictures online associated with the Omni downtown are pretty deceiving. The television in our room had a terrible picture. None of the hdmi ports worked or would even register that anything had been plugged into them. The AC in our room was useless. The coldest the room would get was 74 degrees. The unit would allow you to go as low as 60 degrees but the room never got below 74 and that was at 2-4am by the time it would cool to 74. We couldn't sleep or was so hot in the room. I called the front desk twice and they told me they would send an engineer to access the problem. He never arrived. Once I asked our cleaning lady she brought me a small fan. But at that point something was better than nothing. We could hear the entire conversation of the guests in the room next to us. The mattress are quite firm. Not that big of a deal. But the fact of not being able to sleep due to being sweaty and sticky was very annoying. Not once did anyone ask us if we would like to move to a different room. Maybe one where the AC actually worked worth a flip. The safe in our room was malfunicationing and would not open. Spent ten minutes trying to get into our room safe to remove my belongings. We live in Dallas and have never had an issue at the omni Dallas. But I will say that I will not stay at the omni in Austin again!

Cons: Our shower flooded and my husband's side of the mattress had what seemed like a broken spring or hole that sank down very deep. Our mini fridge was warm, nothing inside was cold or even cool. The light was on but it wasn't working. The Internet was $9.99 a day and then it didn't even work! I called for help twice, the first time they transferred my call to an offsite wifi support line - not helpful. The second time they were very rude and said they would be sending up engineers. We waited for 1.5 hours before giving up as they never showed up. If you can't help us that would be one thing, but don't say you'll help and then not show up! We left the next morning for another hotel that didn't feel outdated and had better service, better mattresses, and free internet.

The staff was exceptionally accommodating. Overall, it was a good stay. Easy parking for vehicles but there is a daily charge, less if you self-park.
Cons: We were there five nights; two of those nights the room was not cleaned. The first time, we mentioned it. When it happened again the second night we were pretty vocal about our frustration and dissatisfaction. The room did get cleaned the following day but it was our last night there. At checkout they did offer a discount and apologized.

Pros: The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect. The staff were very accomodating. The rooms were wonderfully spacious and clean so absolutely no complaints there.
Cons: I would probably never again stay at a hotel under construction for the amount of money I paid. I had no idea the extent of the construction before and while booking. It had elevators non functioning and we had to use service elevators at one point it was just odd. I could have stayed at a five star for the price I paid minus the construction.

Pros: The staff were very quick to help with anything we needed. After searching the vending machines on our floor and those above and below us for bottled water, we called down to the front desk to ask where we could find some to purchase, and they immediately had four bottles sent up at no charge, which arrived quicker than I'd have thought the elevators would allow.
Cons: The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. I have back problems, and the bed, though a pillowtop, had springs that were easily felt through the mattress top. The pillows were fine down, but far too soft to provide any support--though I'll be the first to admit, I'm picky about my pillows.

Pros: Was there for ACL and it was close in proximity between Zilker Park and Downtown Austin. A quick bike ride to either location on a B-cycle and under 30 minutes is free. The location was about the only redeeming factor.
Cons: The room was dirty. If it had been any other weekend than ACL, I would have left and found another hotel room because it was not what I would consider to be acceptable. I am by no means a germaphobe or overly picky person by any means, I understand that there is only so much you can do with a hotel room and you inherently accept some level of dirtiness - but I would consider this above the acceptable threshold. The garbage bins were not cleaned out from the previous customers, there were several drawers with crumbs and dirt in them that wasn't cleaned out, and the bathtub was gross and had mildew. But, since every other hotel in the area was booked solid, we decided to stay. I had to go around and kill all the bugs in the room first, as well as disinfect the counters and bathtub. The comforter, with all of the unsightly stains on it, was removed from the bed immediately and put on the ground - where it stayed for the weekend. The crumby drawers were off limits and instead we just lived out of the suitcase for the weekend. We asked for fresh set of sheets and pillow cases and changed the bedding and that made it okay for the 3 days we were there. I ended up saving probably $150-200 total by staying there versus another hotel in the area, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Pros: - Inexpensive compared to other local hotels - Great location right next to downtown Austin. It is under a mile to many fun areas downtown and along S Congress Street. - Complimentary Wifi (slow, but free, so can't complain) - Complimentary "grab-and-go" breakfast (very limited, but again, free) - Lots of free parking
Cons: - Front desk staff hung out chatting in the office behind the desk and needed to be called. - The maid on our floor seemed to spend extensive amounts of time on her cell phone in the hall (she probably should have spent more time cleaning rooms) - Our first room had a live cricket in the bathroom, a spider in the bed and long black hair on the towels, toilet and sink. We requested a second room and they obliged since they said bugs were a health issue. - Our second room had a dead cricket in the middle of the kitchen floor when we walked in (not sure how it was missed during cleaning). We didn't want to change again so we stayed, but we eventually noticed black mold in the shower and woke to find a beetle cozying up with us on our last morning. - The first night we requested coffee mugs at the front desk. The employee told us he had some paperwork to complete and then he would bring them up to our room; an hour later they had not arrived and there was no one at the desk. The next day they were handed to us in 5 seconds when we asked - not sure why that didn't happen the night before. - The tub spout diverter was broken, but with some muscle I was able to get about 50% of the water to come out of the shower head. (even with only 50% the pressure was acceptable) - No business center with a printer for boarding passes. - We were charged a $69 cleaning fee after we left which we are fighting. Besides wet towels hanging in the bathroom, trash in the garbage, and an unmade bed, the room was exactly as it was when we arrived. I even fixed the aspect ratio on the TV.

Pros: Better than a park bench?
Cons: Upon arrival I realized my hair dryer was broken. Rather than try to provide any support to fix my broken hair dryer, the front desk told me I would receive one night stay gratis. I foolishly believed this. Later when I asked where my refund was, my requests for information was ignored and I realized how upfront this deception had been. Wow, not many can lie outright. Other than that, I was surprised that I needed to bring dirty towels to the front desk to get new towels, front desk again for hangers, tissue and toilet paper. A very expensive hotel for this level of service. Finally, it was dirty and noisy.

Pros: The location is close to the Plalmer events Center with lots of parking.
Cons: Every surface was dirty. The draws had crumbs in them, the mirrors had layers of toothpaste and make-up caked on them, the sheets were full of hair, the comforter was visibly dirty, and the shower still had the last occupant's hair. "Newly renovated" apparently means platter painting the existing tile and counter surfaces and faux finishing the light fixtures. They didn't even bother to replace the moldy caulk around the tub. The walls are so thin than you can hear people using the toilet from the hallway!

Pros: Location was amazing. We went during the start of the recent monsoon season so much travelling or exploring on foot meant a wet time. The locations was awesome to catch an Uber to the bars or to local areas to see.
Cons: I think we picked a bad weekend with quite a few events going on. This is the only way I can explain the crazy price. We booked late but the price we paid was twice what I would have expected to pay for the facilities. It was one of the cheapest locations that weekend though so that is the only reason we were there.

Pros: The room was large and the location was great.
Cons: The hotel was loud - lots of noise from the street and other guests. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. Also, the side doors did not require a key card to enter, which made us feel unsafe.

Pros: It was relatively close to where I needed to be.
Cons: The internet was pretty slow, I paid for the upgraded speed and didn't really notice a difference. There were also times I came to the front desk for a question and no one was there or even close by.

Pros: Location is key to this place. It is a bike's ride away from anywhere you would want to go. And the elevators are big enough to carry two bikes at a time. Despite what many other reviews said, our room was clean.
Cons: The A/C worked but did not get cold enough. We woke up pretty warm each morning.

Cons: Upon entering the room, and taking a look around, I found hairs found in the shower/bath and bed - pretty disgusting. Checked out 10 min after checking in - after telling staff why I was leaving (and asking for a refund which was processed), no apologies were given.... I'll never consider an Extended Stay again

Pros: I didn't have the cleanliness issues others did; the hotel needs a refurbishment but it was clean. There aren't many luxuries offered and the room is laid out strangely. It wasn't overly comfortable to hang out in but we didn't plan to be in our room all that much.
Cons: I had a challenge with a late check out and there were no apologies offered even though I watched the night clerk record the request in her evening log. Service was not great here but it was the cheapest hotel for the evening so I guess what does one expect?
"Located in Downtown Austin, this motel is within a 10-minute walk of St. Mary's Cathedral, Texas State Capitol and Sixth Street. Frank Erwin Center and Paramount Theater are also within 15 minutes. Downtown Station is 12 minutes by foot and Plaza Saltillo Station is 23 minutes. "

Pros: Worked better than I thought that breakfast was in a room across the parking lot from the lobby. I liked being just a few steps from the Capitol building since I hadn't been inside as an adult. The location was close enough to downtown to walk (5 mins to 6th Street), but quite a bit further to go to the more adult area of 2nd Street. Staff was friendly and after my visit quickly corrected a mistake in my billing. Worked great that I had pre-paid via Kayak and had no problems getting my room immediately. Breakfast was included (hard to find) but be aware the only protein was hardboiled eggs and there was very little fruit. At least there were (make your own) waffles!
Cons: The construction noise across the street was not very conducive to sleeping late on the weekend. There was a huge gap under the door where light came in and A/C went out - like a motel instead of a hotel. The parking was mandatory valet @ 12.99/day and I don't remember that being listed online (at Kayak). Of course there wasn't another close place to park so I guess it was better than $20/night like some places downtown. This place got very crowded on Labor Day weekend, so check in and check out were kind of crazy.

Pros: The location is close enough to walk to downtown, but far enough away to not be disturbed by late nighters in the streets.
Cons: This hotel is an $80 a night hotel at best. I was charged over $220. You are forced to use the valet parking which was an extra $14 per vehicle which I didn't realize when I booked. The room had mold in the showers and there were several hairs stuck to the wall in the bathroom/sink area. On top of everything, I was charged twice for the room after a checked my bank statement due to a mistake at the front desk. The same exact thing happened to a friend of ours staying in another room. We received no phone calls to notify us of the mistake. Will not be going back again. You're better off staying at the Super 8 down the road. Thank you very little.

Pros: Location is very convenient.
Cons: Hotel was average by all accounts. Negatives were two factors. The first was the inflated price for the weekend due to the F1 championship. This was unfortunate but nothing unusual. The real complaint was the noise levels through the night. Sounded like I was at a block party until 4am with no effort by the staff to speak with the noisy guests.

Pros: The location is perfect.
Cons: The hotel is overpriced. You are REQUIRED to use the valet parking at $14 a night. Between the time the valet took our car and we kicked it up a few hours later, a large scratch was left in one our car doors. The rooms don't have refrigerators and are quite small for the nightly cost.

Cons: There was a $25/per night parking charge that we didn't know about until check in :( That charge brought the price up a lot closer to some of the nicer hotels I had decided not to stay in to save money.

Pros: The location was great. Within walking distance of the Capitol. The staff were efficient and courteous.
Cons: The facilities were being remodeled. They definitely need it. My thought as I was walking to my room was, "what a dump." Also, not the hotel's fault, but there was a loud drinking party in the room next to mine that went on until after midnight. The walls are very thin. I should have called the front desk but didn't. Sigh.

Pros: The location and the comfort of the hotel was good.
Cons: I wish I had known the hotel was doing renovations. While this didn't really have any bearing, it did have some impact. The most upsetting is the charge for parking. If I had known I had to pay $25+ each night for valet parking (only option), I would never have booked the hotel. I didn't have that much budgeted, and it greatly impacted me.

Pros: Staff was really nice. It's in a great location.
Cons: Had to switch rooms upon arrival do to blood stains on one bed and questionable white crusty spots on the other. Found massive cockroach on the floors when we got back from being out all day in the new room. both me and the misses were covered in bites upon waking up. Almost certain it was of the bed varietal.

Pros: The restaurant next door was awesome---- BABY ACAPULCOS. Great food and margaritas.
Cons: The breakfast at the hotel did not include any meat... such as bacon or sausage. It only had dried out scrambled eggs, waffle iron and toast. The staff told us that the owners of the hotel consider eggs to be meat and they quit serving any kind of meat at the hotel. Apparently, the owners of this hotel are not from this Country. When I booked the room, I was told that the breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausage, etc......This was not accurate at all. I would not have booked this hotel if I had known they did not have a "complete" breakfast. Very disappointed in that... that is not how you run a business...
