Pros: This is a comfortable hotel very well situated in the Altstadt of Wismar. Easy to find and with a private parking. Our room was big and comfortable. The restaurant is very popular and the food is excellent. We had a very romantic dinner and the nice woman who served us was just marvellous. We liked her very much. We will definitely come back.

Cons: There were only 13 parking spaces. When we registered we were not aware that we had to reserve a park place as well as a room. We had to park our car in a public lot located a half to three quarters of a kilometer away and walk to the hotel. We had asked to be able to check into our room an hour earlier than their posted 3:00 time. We received a message that we would be able to do that, that we could check in between 2:00 and 3:00. We got there and were told, in a not very friendly and welcoming way that check in time was 3:00 and we could not possibly get in earlier.

Pros: Rooms and linens were clean and fresh. Hotel is beautifully decorated starting from the front door all the way to little items placed into corridors and rooms. For comfort and convenience, there was a coffee machine and tea in the room, a great selection of drinks in the minibar, and all necessary toiletries beautifully laid out. Breakfast was an amazing buffet of well selected seasonal treats. Gluten free request was met with GF toast and freshly baked buns. Amazing! If you love reading books, book an extra day in this hotel - and maybe also pack along an extra book you just finished and wood like to share with someone. Location is great. All UNESCO World Heritage sites of old center of Wismar are within a 10 min walk.

Pros: If you are like us, travelling Europe with you favorit car and at the same time want to stay centrally, with a quality parking spot and at the same time walking distance to all the sights then this is the place. The room we stayed in and the breakfast served was good. But at the same time it only took a 5 minute walk to get into the old center of the town. There you will find both historical buildings and good restaurants. This place is highly recommended.

Cons: Shower leaked a little but Rita assured me this small problem will soon be fixed. However it was a really good shower and the bathroom suite was a nice style with plenty of soap, towels e.t.c.

Cons: We stayed in a double room. As said in the description, there should be wifi, but there was no signal in the room, not even a weak one. The public areas and reception closes at 9 p.m., so not even there it was possible to use wifi at night. If we knew that, we would not have spent so much money for staying in this hotel. Moreover, we did not arrive by car but by public transport and none of two receptionists could tell us about the way - line from/to the centre from/to the train or bus station, so we had to do quite laborious research on our own. (By the way, the next bus stop to the centre and the train station is not far away - just about 5-10 min walking...)

Pros: The position: it is perfect if you are travelling by train (10 minutes from station) or by bus (5 minutes) or I think also by boat... since the pension is practically on the harbor. Also the personnel had been very nice and helpful to manage my stay at Wismar. Breakfast is fine, but nothing special.
Cons: The room is rather basic, looking a bit oldish. it is probably what you can expect for this price in summer and it is fine for short stays. Longer periods may require more comfortability.

Cons: The price breakdown was hard to understand from the description available on booking.com. It’s deceptive to see pictures of all the spa and swimming facilities and then find out that nothing is actually included in your room rate. I was trying to figure it out before booking but I gave up after a while, thinking that if the photos are online certain things must be included. Then we find out that accessing the pool and spa is €30 extra per person per day, fitness studio is €5 per person per day, and even robes and towels cost €5 each to rent! So the whole price we paid was basically only for the room, which now feels expensive in hindsight for a hotel that has nothing special about it other than being connected to Wonnemar.

Cons: As the spa is open to the public it gets rather crowded during the day, especially around the weekends. If you want to have a relaxed swim then I'd recommend going there early right when it opens, or really late before closing. - Although we asked for a gluten-free breakfast in our booking and got a confirmation for that, at breakfast the waiter was rather confused by our inquiry about gluten-free bread. She started asking if we are the vegan guests, then tried to figure out whether some of the cheese is lactose-free or not. The bread we then received later was so dry that we rather went with our own. - There was no minibar in our room

We asked for bathrobes, they said they have, will cost 5 euro each. We asked for Babybed, they said they have, will cost 10 euro...

With a mini fridge packed with beers, snacks and wine. The Hotel breakfast and bar is outstanding. Exceptional quality food and service. Again, Very attentive Staff offering whatever you want. Definitely choose the hotel breakfast, with its huge spread for any style of eating you do. They also offer to make an omelet of your choice. The hotel is situated in front of the marketplace, with several restaurants and cafes to choose from. The sites and shops are all within walking distance, including the harbor where you can have a delicious Eis (ice cream is very popular in Germany). Although I didn’t get to it, they have a spa for stem baths. Check it out on your trip! Hotel Steigenberger is A+ #1 hotel!

The reception is 24/7 open, so we had no problems with the arrival time (3 am) and the personnel was super friendly. The hotel has a parking lot but in case it's full there are some other (cheap) public parking lots at walking distance from it.

My room had a great view over the city, which also meant I couldn't really open the blinds if I wanted some privacy. Everything looked new, modern and spotlessly clean. Great mattress! Awesome breakfast, and easy check-in and check-out process. There was a place to keep my bike overnight.

Cons: There was a coffee/tea machine in the room, but unfortunately it didn't work. I found the room a bit warm, but there was no AC or fan in the room, and leaving the windows open during the night was noisy. A simple fan would fix the issue. :)

Cons: Nobody was there when we arrived. The lady at the reception the next morning was only speaking German, no English. She couldn't help us with anything (for example she couldn't help on where to park our car, etc) Check out is very early (10 am) and it was not possible to leave our luggage at the reception for a few extra hours. On general, we felt like nothing was done to help us during our time there.
