The hotel was pretty good, however, nothing extremely special. It is for people who like an extra touch but do not go into extremes.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, the restaurant was excellent. You can book tours from the operator in the lobby. Great views from our top floor room. We definitely recommend that you stay here and enjoy the beautiful country. Location is just a wee bit far away but buses or a short walk will get you downtown and closer to more dining choices
Spa, staff, dining Need for a cab to get downtown
Clean and quiet rooms. A poorly communicated fire drill at noon while having an infant sleeping in the room is a life event.
Great view of the bay, executive lounge was first class.
clean, good parking, good food management very inflexible on check out time. a 1 hour extension would have cost 25 US$.
Great service, friendly staff, range of services. 1-> Standard single room is extremely snug. Marvel of engineering how they are able to fit all the necessities into such a small area without compromising on available amenities. 2-> location from core downtown. Several free shuttles are provided however, the frequency is limited to a handful per day which may limit flexibility when sightseeing, etc.
I enjoyed the high end quality from top to bottom of the hotel! It was immaculate, stylish and staff was helpful and enjoyable. I would have preferred to have been closer to downtown so I could walk to the downtown area. However, that would mean having a big hotel in the middle of a great little town. I understand that they are building something closer to town that fits in to the surroundings, so I'll have to try that when it opens.
Modern hotel with efficient staff. Spacious and clean. 20 minutes walk to town. Very expensive restaurant which even by Icelandic standards was just too much. We ate at Pizza hut around the corner.
It was a good value for the money. Nice, airy rooms and I enjoyed being able to walk around the neighborhood. The hotel cost for breakfast was high. I have stayed at 2 other Reykjavik hotels in the last 5 years and breakfast was always included. The selection was fine but $20.00 us equivalent was high. I prefer the breakfast at Hotel Bjork and it was included in the room cost. Also the shuttle to town was conveneient but not the return to the hotel. It was inconvenient and wse had to take a taxi back both days because their was so much time to wait before 6 pm. I would like to see at least 2 other trips in that schedule.
Staff helpful and courteous. Everything was clean, tidy and well presented. The food was very good and the breakfast to die for!!
Very friendly staff, good food, beautiful room.
Hotel Lotus was perfect for our first night in Rejkyavik. It was easy to get to by car, and we were able to walk to the city center with no issues. The hotel itself was simple, clean and very comfortable. The owner/manager was very nice and gave us recommendations of where to go (swimming pool, city center, etc.) while we were there. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food and fantastic coffee. Overall a perfect stay!
-Buffet breakfast included was delicious. -The swimming center close by is a must for families! -Rooms were clean, and compact. -Allowed us to check-in at 8am!! -Distance from city center; We had a car rented, so not an issue. -Allowed us to check-in at 8am!! Received a smaller room than booked, but appreciative of the convenience of unloading all our bags immediately.
The staff who checked us in knew very little about the area, telling us we would have to ride a busy to down town when in actuality it's walkable (w/ a 5 1/2yro) in about 25 minutes. She additionally was no help with bus fair, stops, or routes. We adventured and found our way fairly easily. There is no pool on site, the one they mention is across the highway and down a side street but heated and great for families. The breakfast was mediocre, luke warm food and not many choices. our room faces the parking lot/highway and had windows so dirty it was difficult to see out of them. The room was extremely hot, even after turning the heat off and the noise from outside (cars & people walking to and from partying until 4:30 am) kept us up most of the night. Overall this was the worst nights sleep of our trip & the worst accommodations we had. The whole experience was less than desirable.
Nice enough décor Small rooms, limited amenities, somewhat close to downtown, at least 25 minute walk.
20-40 min walk from most attractions. Great proximity to soccer stadium. No gym.
We had a comfortable room, and the location was a bit far from down town, but it was a great place to stay. There are a variety of restaurants in the two-or-so blocks from the hotel, one is right next door. The best part was one of the desk employees, Arnar. He was super helpful, cheerful, and friendly, but what he really stands out for (IMHO) is how he saved the day when one of us messed up on some reservations. We would have missed the whole thing and lost our money. He made some calls and got us rescheduled and arranged transportation to the event. Whew! I was beyond thankful. He saved the day. Wish we would have had a room with a view.
Very friendly staff and nice bar downstairs. Modern decor. Rooms are extremely small. Windows are not very tight in cold weather. Location is not great, about 2 miles from downtown.
I got upgraded because I had requested for a room with a view and my first room didn't have a view. So I got without any discussion a suite on the seventh floor with two sides of big windows and spectacular view! I payed of course same price as I had booked for. Little bit far from city center.
Great hotel, walking distance to city center, Hotel staff was friendly, responsive, helpful and professional,
Room was great, the bar area was nice, the breakfast buffet was terrific Like most Reykavik hotels, it isn't walking distance from the town center.
A good international hotel with all the facilities you could expect from such an accomodation. Nice and pretty large failiy room. Really close from one of the best and larger swimming pool in Reykjavik (do not forget to ask your free tickets to the reception!) A professionnal staff, but could be more smiling... Basic breakfast for an hotel of this category. Not so close from the center if you do not have a car.
Lounge and bar in the lobby. The shower head was mounted on a holder such that if then shower head were left on the holder (as the water is turned on) this would result in water leakage onto the floor of the barhroom.
Nicely updated room including cozy duvet and towel warmer. Staff at the front desk and restaurant / bar are extremely helpful. There is some disconnect with the housekeeping staff and internal construction noise during the day.
Far from city centre. Ridiculous network connection. Today's traveller needs a constant connection for check-ins, travel planning etc. without any hassle of buying online time (!) piece by piece. Only greed or being totally out of the loop can explain this arrangement.
Breakfast was very good.Reception staffs were kind enough. Far from center of Reykjavik, they should set up shuttle service with Hilton hotel? Bed for Family room should not be sofa bed.
Great hotel, with in walking distance of downtown. Staff was very nice. Free breakfast and WiFi was appreciated. Construction going on at the hotel, very loud at the time and the in-house restaurant was closed for renovations.
Clean new lobby and restaurant Outdated rooms, felt like a stay in a hospital. Locationwasnt ideal. Staff not very friendly.
Room is very big and has a kitchenette. Interent connection is free and reliable. Breakfast is quite good. No lift and need to carry luggage up a flight of stairs to reach the room.
For less than $60 USD, this was a pretty good deal. The light switches in the rooms did not work and the room had a slight stench due to the slufer in the water. This did not happen in the other 3 hotels I stayed in while in Iceland.
The location is very quiet, but within walking distance of a lot of places to eat and a beautiful park. The staff was not very friendly. I was surprised to find that breakfast was not included in the price of the hotel, and was ridiculously expensive.
price was good but the location was rather isolated. definitely not in the city center, but enough within walking distance (food / grocery, a couple of shops) that it worked out. about 10min to town via the Straeto bus 5.
Stafff friendly and welcoming, you were made to feel at home, nothing was an effort. Breakfast selections were varied and sufficient. It would have been good to have tea and coffee facilities in our room
Nothing Too far from the centre, no elevator, very poor facilities
good value, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast no elevator (we had big bags)
Management was great, close to the city centre no
Basic amenities. Very small rooms, just like any other hotel room in Iceland. No elevators. You have to carry your luggage over two flights of stairs if you are alloted a room in the second floor. Place looks rundown. Very overpriced breakfast.
good value for money, free parking, breakfast decent but lousy coffee small bathroom, no elevator
A little to far from the city.
compliments to the staff for all the help and our service requests
my fiance and I have definitely decided this is the only place for us while visiting this beautiful country. the bed is so cozy, and the 20 minute walk to downtown Reykjavik is worth it. we will be staying here again when we visit Iceland for a second time, no doubt about it.
