The staff and service at this hotel were above and beyond expectations. The location is perfect being that it is steps away from everything that Viejo Vallarta offers and even closer to the malecon and the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Like one of the reviewers noted, I too was placed in a room that faced the air conditioning units in the courtyard. The best outcome for this situation is that I know I would have been moved to a better room if I had asked. But I was only there one night so didn't bother.
Very very clean and comfy. Great breakfasts. Close to beach & restaurants Can't think of nothing
Booked at a great price of $50. Not sure I would stay at their published price of 1200 peosos. A bit expensive. Very clean, very comfortable, very quiet, very friendly staff, great location, but no character. No character. Could have been in any city on n the US
Sightseeing & relaxed & ate ALOT of authentic Mexican Foods Loved EVERYTHING I definitely will be back VERY soon
Roof top pool often empty ( while I was there ) Roof top restaurant awesome food and cheap Maid were friendly Gilberto - one of the front desk employee Who is very friendly and alway smiling and goes beyond to help you if you need anything. Roof top restaurant only open at 4pm and closed Mondays. It was cheap and good food. Wish they were open earlier Did not sell or provide ice Bedsheets and towels often stained-
Hotel Encino is a charming old world beauty at a great price! Great location near markets, shops, restaurants and beach/boardwalk.
The hotel was within walking distance of a shopping center with a grocery store and several restaurants, and across the street from a bus stop and taxi stand. NO.
Everything is new and clean. Well maintained Could have been closer to the beach area
Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly. Loved the room upstairs with a beautiful view onto the cathedral. We had some problems with a broken ATM machine downtown and we had to leave hostal earlier than originally booked.
Fantastic views of sea, friendly, helpful staff..still working construction on place Issue of the attempt to extend stay with two rooms only to be notified at desk their computer screwed up..then you sent me a no show charge.not very good business..also surprised they refused credit cards..a serious inconvenience...often noisy
Friendly & very helpful staff, beautiful views. Shower drain was plugged the first day in the room, flooding the floors & getting our luggage wet. Fortunately, staff fixed it for us!
The rooms were clean and has your basic needs. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We needed to use the phone to confirm a tour and the guy at the front desk called for me. They also stored our bags for us while we went out since check out was at noon and we didn't have to leave until later. The beach was not even a minute walk away. The market was across the street and there were placed to eat all around us. The location was great. I wish the wi-fi worked throughout the hotel and not just in our room.
Excellent staff, excellent location, clean and comfortable room, quiet. Would recommend to anyone that wants a great place at a great price. WiFi in the room would cut out a lot.
The price is obviously a plus. The staff were really nice and the concierge spoke really good English. The air conditioning worked really well. The pool is beautiful however right in the middle of everything so everyone is watching you from the restaurant and the hotel rooms. I also liked the location, it felt right inside of the culture of Puerto Vallarta, it didn't give off that resort vibe at all, if that's what you're looking for. The shower we had would always flood the entire bathroom, with only a thin curtain and no ledge to catch the excess water. Also, everything just felt dirty. We found a weird yellowish stain on our sheets and they always felt a little sticky. Oh and by far the worst part was all of the fleas. There were hundreds of fleas in the bed, on the floor. Everywhere. And even though the air conditioning worked, it was so loud it's hard to hear your spouse talk.
centrally located, wonderful view at the ocean and city, lot of space with well equipped kitchen, nice mexican style at Friday/Saturday night really loud due to loud music coming up the hill...starts at app. 12 p.m...need to party yourself ;-)
The view is amazing! Every room has an ocean view. If you want a balcony, get a jr suite. The jr and master suites have a full kitchen (studios have a kitchenette) and there are several supermarkets within walking distance. A nice alternative to restaurant food every day. Barrie, the owner, and his team are wonderful. The location is perfect- the Malecon and beach are 4 blocks away. Plenty of shopping and dining choices nearby. Check out Pipi's for great food/service and and the biggest margarita you've ever seen! I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here in the future!
Absolutely loved the view from any room in the building and accessibility to the town and beach. Also the narrow and steep streets leading to it. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Both times they had problems with the credit card machine. It was down.
The view of the old town and the ocean from the room was breathtaking - a gorgeous sunset every night! It was great to have our own kitchen, and everything about the room was comfortable, though not luxurious. Overall I would highly recommend it! On some nights, there was a disco in town that despite its significant distance away from the hotel, still managed to blare their music audibly at 5am. Also, the pool was freezing. But I'd still stay there again in a heartbeat!
The view was beautiful. The locations was great.I couldn't stay an entire week because the bed was uncomfortable but a couple nights if you want to be in downtown puerto vallarta is nice. You wouldn't stay here if you were interested in beaching it only for shopping and restaurants.
The spacious junior suite was wonderful and the view was spectacular from the 5th floor during New Year's celebrations. Not so friendly front desk.
The views and the location, but the service and overall facilities are old and run down The front desk people aren't really into servicing customers.
I liked the view and the balcony The elevator was not working and I informed not for a long time
seaview, affordable It is more a general observation that booking a cheap room will put you in the worst room available so that you complain and pay a lot more than was ones intention booking at booking.com. And the tric seams to be to make a good sounding name for that particular room available on internet, put it on the website as a room more expensive than other rooms, but in fact it's where even Harry Potter wouldn^t want to sleep in and only put his broom in.
