The surroundings, food, rooms and staff were fantastic. The staff were so accommodating, we were able to arrange a dinner party for 15 pesons with one days notice. Did I mention the staff were fantastic!!! A comment only, is that this hotel isn't central to the town (only about a 5min drive). this didn't affect us but may be of interest to others.
The food was at a very high standard
staff were helpful. do not like ground floor rooms - i should have mentioned it on the booking. really nice though - private and quiet, will go back. hated the set menu at the weekend - i like a la carte - vegetarian and eat little. did not ike the constant hoover in the pool as i like to swim.
excellent food and service, nice surroundings, attractive rooms difficult to find, saw little of their claimed park and wildlife.
The quality of the room was good. It was amazingly quiet and calm despite it's location on the edge of Perpignan. The food served up in the evening looked and smelt excellent, but was too expensive for our budget and we had allready had a big meal at lunch time!! However, we would have no hesitation to stay at the hotel again, and you never know we might even eat in the restaurant!!
Every thing was perfect ,the team very friendly and helpfull ,we had a fantastic room ,with a beautiful view ,ademas el restaurant estaba excelent
Very little, the room and bathroom were clean. There is a restaurant which is an enormous part of this hotel, it is run for the benefit of local business people but is the only on-site source of food for the hotel. Room service is only available when they say it is. The managerial staff at the restaurant clearly do not enjoy guests from the hotel eating there and expect the worst tables and cold service. The restaurant tables surround the pool on three sides, which is not shown in the pictures and you are not allowed to swim in the pool before 9am or after 7pm. If you swim between 12 and 3pm, expect an audience of local businessmen to watch and comment. The gardens shown also host functions, during lunch and in the evening. Basically, holiday guests are suffered but not really welcome
location and the excellent restaurant refurbishment of the room is a bit outdated
Food in restaurant was very good. Overall very nice room and hotel in general was quite nice.
Excellent Restaurant Very good Ambiance
None Small bedroom , small bathroom , no lift ,
Idealy placed enroute to Spain. Affordable,Comfortable. To be highly recomended Limited directions but found easily by downloading the TomTom app for Buffallow Grills as one is ideally placed opposite.
Beautiful location, exceptionally clean appearance, easy to find, realaxed atmosphere. Both a buffet dinner and an an a la carte menu were displayed outside of the dining room for a 7.30 p.m. start. We waited until the start time only to find out that the a la carte menu was not being offered. We only wanted a small meal and after having a drink at the bar, a drive downtown was not an option. The walk was a long way.
Nice basic hotel, clean & beds are comfortable. T.v with English channels. Good budget hotel for someone who will not be spending much time in room and just needs somewhere to sleep. On-site parking with no additional charge.
That the security agent was king enough to help us out with the code of the door that didn't work. That it didn't have someone at the reception 24/7.
nothing At first we was try find this hotel about 2 h Direction is wrong. Very small room and bathroom It is smaller then on sailing yacht. In water was too much chlor smelling everywhere. Very noisy. This night was terrible.
Good location, low price, parking Strong smell of chemicals (disinfection ?) in the room, quite difficult to find when going from highway A9 (exit 42) - remember to print a detailed map !
We were very impressed by the genuine friendliness of the manager & his wife. Especially his excellent english language skills. We have already recommended this hotel to friends & would use it again. Nothing.
Great value for nice accomodations
The manager? owner? was a personable, helpful and intelligent man.We got some wonderful suggestions which made our stay excellent. Our room had everything we needed and was very clean. The location was great for sightseeing, train and restaurants.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was basic but clean and adequate. Breakfast was similarly basic but good enough. Convenient location just minutes away from the city center. Wifi was free but somewhat slow. Only some of the hotel staff speak English, need to know some French if the English speaking guy is not around.
The friendly staff, who spoke good English, closeness to Perpignan centre. We were fortunate to be able to park right outside the hotel.
All that I read about the hotel spoke about the service, and it was true. The staff was incredbly helpful. It was easy to find, and not far from the city center. It has a great price and I highly recommend this hotel!
Staff were great
Hotel staff were outstanding - so helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent value - 7 euros for a buffet style consisting of croissants, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, cereals, coffee, etc. 15 mins walk to centre of Perpignan. Nothing I did not like
The Hotel is situated directly next to a Toll station, which is very good for a stopover. The swimming pool. Good value for money applies to the restaurant, too. Das Hotel liegt direkt an einer Mautstation, sehr gut für einen Zwischenstop. Der Pool. Gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis, trifft auch für das Restaurant zu. Rooms a very small. Poor selection of TV channels. Poor breakfast buffet. Sehr kleine Zimmer. Sehr kleine Auswahl an TV Sendern (Sat 1 als einziger deutscher Sender). Das Frühstückbuffet ist nicht sehr umfangreich.
Staff obliging and friendly No
Highly recommended. Good and friendly restaurant. Directions from autoroute need clarification.
took dogs so was convenient. being in independant 'chalets' and having car parked outside the door. charged €5 per dog to have in our small room. Not a lot of places for dogs to run nothing nearby, in residential area. food was adequate but chef tried to fob me off with less that entitled to ie what was in the picture, but when i asked they brought it to me, breakfast was lacking in choice lot of money for what it was. three tiny pieces of cheese for dessert, no crackers for €7 overpriced.
This is a very convenient hotel for our purposes and allows us to visit family in Villeneuve de la Raho with the least inconvenience. We have used it frequently and have always found it in the best of condition.
The lady who took care of my room clean was very honest, she reminded me that I had coins on my bed. I didn't know they are not in the habit of tipping. Also, people at the front desk were very nice. It was hard for me to communicate at the front, all of them expect the nice African guy in the night, didn't speak English.
room was clean and the staff good not central to the city centre
near a motorway and located far from town centre
This hotel was discounted and good value Although I stated my husband is disabled and would like a room on the ground floor or near a lift, this did not happen at ny of the hotels booked with you!
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Food especially the Buffet were excellent The directions are not clear on the print out booking
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very well situated Nothing
Large room; clean bathroom; beds were ok but not great. Carpets needed replacement
Hotel de la Loge is a small, family-owned & operated hotel, very centrally located in Perpignan. It is on a quiet ruelle wide enough for foot traffic only. Owners Mirielle and Herve Barraud are cheery, outgoing, and very informative. All by themselves, they are worth staying at their hotel. The room was modestly appointed, as befitting the modest price, but very clean and neat. The couple recommended several restaurants (highly recommended is Amalia Restaurant 50 meters away, which features Portuguese-style tapas and the haunting songs of the famed fadista Amalia Rodrigues. Between the owners and the very central location, this is a superior choice. I will definitely stay with them again on my next visit. I am not a complaining personality, and besides, found nothing to even consider complaining about.
The sympathy of the hotel crew. It's really impossible to find it if you don't have a map of the city. I had to go around the block four times, park at the Wilson Parking Lot and have the hotel clerk guide me through the streets by the cell phone to be able to get there.
Staff members very kind and helpful. Rooms are spacious. Although downtown the rooms were very quiet. There's no parking lot, only a public parking a hundred meters aways which costs about 15 euros per night.
Handy and convenient, reasonably priced. The female owner was helpful, friendly and nice. It's on a main road so pretty noisy. It's also very hot being the south of France. The noise means you can't open the windows so you need the fan on all night and you need to be able to sleep with the fan on. Luckily I could. If you can, get a room at the back of the hotel. The male owner is a bit of a diva. My girlfriend didn't always want breakfast and this always caused a Garboesque performance. I mean how much trouble can it be to put two croissants, two bits of bread, one kiwi and one yoghurt (per couple) on a few tables.....
Good location and secure parking Basic, cheap, rooms need updating
hotel itself was good but not in handy for evening--restaurants-bars etc-all of any attraction a fair walk away--and back !
owner very unwelcoming. Couldn't eat or drink in the room. The toilet was basically a cupboard.
The location was excellent for Perpignan centre. Rooms were well heated with good supply of hot water. Staff spoke good English.
Close proximity to the Stade Aimee Giral (Rugby Stadium) and close proximity to the town centre. Both approximately 10 minutes walk away. Decor was very old and tired.
The warm Weather, been able to relax and take it easy
Staff were very helpful. Room was clean and suitable for a short stay. Parking was good. Breakfast was a little limited, but the amounts were fine.
Friendly staff Breakfast was a bit expensive for what it was, but then again it was Cannes!
Room clean on arrival and cleaned each day. Staff left us alone to get on with our stay, but were helpful anytime we needed them. The room was a bit tatty. But good value for money if you don't mind that sort of thing.
Extremely good value for money given it's city cnter location. Staff also friendky and helpful. Lift was very small.
Good location, very friendly and helpful staff, nice view of street, well cleaned room, well functioning bathroom, comfortable beds (though bit small for tall people). In terms of decoration, furnishing and facilities, rather dated, consequently seemed expensive. The room was also really quite small for the 3 beds we had. If it had been 30% cheaper I would not mention this, but I have stayed in very much smarter rooms all over europe for the same money.
Near the centre, large family room, clean , comfortable, quiet. No parking directly at the hotel, Need to use and pay for a nearby car park
reasonable price and amenable staff
Good location in the centre, large bedrooms Fairly noisy, but central location. Hotel tried to overcharge me because they did not read the booking confirmation fax.
It was central, good value and clean
Fantastic location - 5 minutes walk from the castle centre of Perpignan - great cafes and restaurants
Good, clean, cheap, and quiet hotel - staff were helpful and breakfast was good value for money.
Man on the desk did not like us bringing a friend who was staying in a near by hotel into our room for a drink.
Location and service received
Small, friendly hotel No tea or coffee in room
staff were very friendly, spoke good english and gave good infomation. free wireless internet.
very thin walls you can hear the other even when he goes to toilet
Good price, free parking places near the hotel breakfast
Near the city centre and near the university. Very nice staff. The room was not very large but it was clean.
Hotel was clean and staff friendly. room and general facility was poor. Security poor.
from the moment we booked in the staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome
very friendly proprieter and his family. Made us feel very welcome. better lighting in the bathroom would have been good.
the staff and the breakfast The room is not large
We arrived at the hotel planning to stay for three nights. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the room (which had apparently been recently renovated) was of typical French dimensions (I.E., small), clean, and the bathroom was nicely equipped and also clean. The only indication of needed work was some peeling paint on the wall above the shower. The towels were also a little threadbare but very clean. But, we had to check out after one night because the bed was the hardest we have ever encountered. (During the night I actually checked to make sure that I was not sleeping on a board covered with a thin pad.) We checked with the staff and they said that all the rooms had been redone and contained the same beds.
The location was quiet which is what we prefer, We were able to get a taxi to take us where we needed to be. The renovations did not interfer with the enjoyment of our stay
The spaces for sitting; the pool and surrounds;terrace dining; a comparatively large room with excellent bathroom; general design and ambience. The location was off putting. No opportunity strolling out in the evening. Information on buses not always accurate, though we used them once we got a timetable from the tourist office. Hotel menu limited for dining and few local alternatives.
Convenient location to visit family in the area. Not close or convenient to anything else in the city of Perpignan without using a cab.
Room Hotel in middle of upgrade. Pool Full of debris. Dust everywher. Noise through the day
There were some decent places to eat nearby and luckily there was an adequate bus service. The room was fine with decent faclities. Hotel was undergoing extensive refurbishment and the pool was dirty. We were not advised of this - also we felt we wre too far from town as we had gone to watch the Rugby
Why were not informed that the hotel was only half built
The staff was very helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the food in the restaurant was excellent. I chose the hotel because it is a short walk from the university which was convenient for me, but it is situated in an uninteresting suburban shopping area - no mediterranean charm at all.
Professional and friendly staff. Excellent food and good outside eating area overlooking pool and mountains Restricted menu
Renovations taking place
Convenient location out of town with very good facilities and with good size rooms that were keep very clean. Bar service was a little hit and miss with no service on sunday night!
Hotel is outdated.Appears to have been a smaller hotel that they added two buildings to,resulting in what used to be an outdoor pool becoming an indoor, and seemingly open to the public based on how many people left the hotel lot after the pool closed.B'fast is only meal restaurant serves,so kids eat free is out the window after 11.No fridges in room, broken ice machines everywhere. Not what they show themselves to be in their info,I will not be back.
Not the Holiday Inn quality we are used to. Several things broken...elevator, spa heater, ice machine. Pool and spa water very dirty (cloudy and green). Coffee maker was only 1 cup at a time, no fridge (had to use a trash can as a cooler). AC stuck on low. Had to ask the front desk 3 times for pool towels, took over an hour.
The elevators needed a lot of work, the elevators only worked half of the time. A couple of people got stuck in the elevator for a half of an hour they had to call the fire department to get the elevator to work and that wasn't the first time that happened. Also the breakfst was ok, the scrambled eggs could bounce they had a big assortment of food. They have temperpedic beds, and nice bathrooms but when you take a shower it would flood the bathroom and sink area. I would probably go there again if they fix all of those mistakes!
We were very disappointed. The hotel needs major updates. The lobby, pool and other areas were very run down.
This is the nastiest Holiday Inn we have ever stayed in! The red tile floors and many sections of carpet were absolutely filthy! The pool water was cloudy and puddles of dirty water surrounded the pool. The carpet in the room and the elevator looked like they hadn't been vaccumned in weeks. The bathtub had hair in it and there was mold on the shower curtain. I wouldn't stay at this hotel if it was free! We spoke with the manager soon after arrival, but saw no chnge in the 2 days we were there.
my widows faced the indoor pool, that was packed with kids from 9am to 11 pm.
Well, when we got there the staff where nice. But the carpets to the rooms where very stained. It smelt like someting was damp and when i opend the room door, it stank. It smelt like mold or somthing had been left wet in there for days. My hubbie had to get a different room. It was much better but i would not stay there again with my family. Sorry to say as the staff where nice but it was just not kept up. I know it in an old town but if your offering a service, make it a good one. Thanks
The Holiday Inn in Downtown Wilmington should be ashamed of itself. First of all, the hotel was completely misrepresented on the internet. The lobby, the halls, and the room were drab and not clean. The cleaning staff's equipment was present in the halls all throughout the day and night of our stay, but I do not think they were utilized on the rooms. The pool and hot tub were not heated. The staff was unprofessional and not courteous. The only positive thing I can write about this hotel is its proximity to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens.
HOUSEKEEPING: Lack of towels-No dusting/sweeping-Lack of Amedities. Door left ajar a couple of times after maid service. No HBO schedule for July.SERVICES: Elevator works only 5 of 7 days-Lobby's complimentary coffee only get filled once in the morning!-One ice machine of three works 30% of the time. One room got flooded and ran into the indoor pool (where did the water come from?
Checked in at 10PM and ate at Ledo. Went to room and young people all over-hanging out and running around. Cleaning staff all over-talking. Room dirty. Went to bed @11PM and pounding on door next to us and couple screaming and fighting and child crying. After 15 minutes of this, we pack up and go to desk. Wait 20 minutes and nobody comes. Go back to room and leave first thing in AM.
I don't know where to begin. Staff was below average. The pool was very dirty, the water was green, cloudy and it smelled. The building is in serious need of repairs. On the upper floors their are stairs in the hall making moving your luggage quit a choir. We could not find a luggage cart. Some of the rooms side on the indoor pool and can be very loud. The windows did not close all the way in the room. House cleaning were cleaning rooms all hour of the night and day. Just don't stay there.
The facilities and staff were great here. A gymnasium, swimming pool, sauna and wellbeing centre were a plus too. Food was excellent. The hotel was like an oasis in downtown Perpignan. Away from the continuous through traffic which we did not like! Near to the Pyrenees and the coast without having to drive through the town centre! When we first arrived at the front it looked like a motel stuck in the middle of an industrial site with some parts being developped. But when we drove around the back to the reception and walked through the doors, our opinions changed.
The hotel was very delicate with good facilities. The excercise room was a good thing! Thje personnel was friendly and very serviceminded! We definitely would like to come back! Absolutely nothing!
Comfortable, friendly (except Restaurant) Location - this is well out of town in a Commercial/Business area . Restaurant was mediocre and expensive
clean, well furnished, free internet
Room was fine. City view was a worksite but the pool side was very nice and the food was fantastic. Not really. All was pretty much OK. Staff were very helpful and quite jolly.
Staff welcoming and friendly. great car parking. Restaurant food very good but over priced.
Very good service, central location in Beziers that needs only one nights visit Cost effective recent makeover of hotel
The hotel is in excellent condition, the pool was lovely and the staff were wonderful. Location - you need a car to get to the hotel - the web-site description suggests it was near to the centre of Perpignan, whereas in fact it was a 10 minute drive. Certainly not walking distance.
Excellent hotel. Staff were most friendly and helpful. We had a few wonderful days in La Fauceille. None
New hotel, fresh and easy acces from the motorway. Parking and internet connection included in the price The price is much too high for such location (140 Euro/night) and such hotel. The room are quite small but the bathroom is definetly too small. The swiming pool is more a great jacusi than a real pool as it is so small.
Modern comfortable rooms with good location next to the Old Town
No-one on reception after 6pm on Sunday and the building is locked, accessed only via a code. We were not able to enter the building as there was nobody on reception and the shutter was down over the reception area and we also did not have the correct code to enter, as the code sent via Active did not work. I spoke to a resident who was leaving the building at the same time , I showed him the code and he said that this was the wrong code. We could not therefore enter the building to pick up the key to the room which we had booked via the internet several months earlier. There are no instructions of what to do if there is no receptionist present. Also, there is nowhere to park. There is a private secure underground car park attached to the building, but you require a fob from reception to access the car park. There is no other close car park near to the the apartments. The apartments are based on a very busy corner road with non stop traffic and no footpath or inlet to stop the car, so my partner had to drive past the apartments a quarter of a mile down the road in order to safely pull in, I then had to walk back to the apartments to try to access the building. As I could not access the building I was left with no other choice but to seek somewhere else to stay for the evening.
Excellent central location, rooms look pretty new and very clean. Still appears to have a lot of building work around, but didn't effect our stay.
Well situated. Clean and new. Staff pleasant and helpful when there (not evening, night or early morning). Secure available parking. Room had everything we needed. Room not cleaned at weekend as no staff. Part time reception desk. 'Threat' of 15 Euro charge if kitchen area not clean on departure. Parking difficult on arrival as need key to access car park. Difficult returning key on departure. Breakfast poor value.
Clean, functional and private; plenty of kitchen utensils etc. Staff were polite and helpful. Easy access to the town of Perpignan and 15 min walk to the station. The image on the web is incorrect: the hotel is still being built and we had a noisy building site outside our window. Although the building we stayed in is very new, the heating and extractor fans did not work. We reported this but nothing was done. The room was a little cold but there was a blanket. There was a dangerous and busy road to cross to get to the hotel with no obvious crossing point. The hotel had no character whatsoever, you could have been anywhere in Europe.
Modern clean efficient; close to city centre and not far from station. Kitchen in room convenient. Hotel's striking design makes it easily identifiable when lost in unfamiliar streets! Limited drop off parking space for visitors arriving by car with luggage.
Location, price, room
Excellent location within walking distance of the Castillet. There was a slight "drain" smell in my bathroom which in my opinion was due to poor sealing between the toilet and soil stack. This could easily be rectified by resealing.
I had free internet in my room The smell of sewer coming from the bathroom.
Central position, affordable price, clean, kind staff, recommendable to other passengers
The owners Sophie and Alain are probably the best hosts I've ever met out of the hundreds of hotels I've stayed at. They went above and beyond to assist us with all our travel issues (unrelated to the hotel itself) and made us feel like home. Room was not very big (the huge bed was probably 75% of the room) but probably pretty standard for France.
The Hotel has a good location. The breakfast was plentiful including exellent fresh fruit salads. The room was well appointed and quiet. The quality and crispness of breakfast bread and pastries were below our expectations for France
V. Nice breakfast Smoky smelling room
It was fairly central, good quality hotel. Free public parking nearby overnight. Tourist office at other end of the park. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Friendly, helpful staff.
The hotel is ideally located for the town centre, the rooms are on the small side with a small window so is dark. but clean, the bathroom was adequate and clean the biggest critism would be the corridors it has led lights and is very dark, the hairdryer did not work.
easy access to centre of city parking on Saturday remote from hotel
The location was ideal and the staff were very pleasant and helpfull There was no restaurant facilities other than for breakfast. The car parking facility is very tight and difficult to manouvere in.
Breakfast, central location No, I will go again
Had to wait to be seated for poor value breakfast
Good Location in Perpignon The reviews said the hotel was old, but the windows in our room were ridiculous. They, and the room, would shake every time a car passed, and were impossible to silence. A hotel on a busy street requires modern windows: I find it difficult to recommend this basic and old and hotel.
Very friendly staff It has become vey run down and basic;
Location is great just amidst downtown city
All the staff were very helpful and friendly , rooms kept extremley clean . Good location Could have done with tea / coffee making facilities
Nothing outstanding. Reception closes at about 22.00. We phoned ahead to say that we had been delayed but when we arrived a note on the door asked us to ring a number for the access code. Nearby parking was advertised but with no one to ask where, it was a case of driving around until we found it and then carry our luggage back to the hotel. At 01.00 in the morning, that was not the welcome we wanted. No tea/coffee making facilities.
The hotel is right in the centre of Perpignan and so ideal for the rugby match that we travelled to see. Construction work on the building next door started in the early hours of our second day meaning very little sleep. The hotel itself is very old and this is noticeable throughout, although it was very clean.
Not much. No parking, protesters camped out in front of hotel, busy traffic, very old hotel, tiny shower, no English channels, not even CNN.
its location only no english language channels and the rooms extremely small and no tea coffee facilities
A place to stay after a party in Perpignan. Excellent location.
