I arrived quite late and it was easy to check in.
It is a locker to leave a luggage so it generates extra cost.
As an old friend from the Generator Miami, the Paris one was at the level I expected (without comparing with the Miami one). The staff was nice and the cleaniness as the Generator levels. Cannot enjoy the rest of the place due the COVID-19 restrictions. I came at Generator the day when the quarantine begin so things went weird for everyone. They handled the situation the best they could.
The common areas weren't enough and they rapidly created a dark ambience when they let the guess stay close inside the rooms. The hostel became absolute depressive in only 12 hours. Completely silence, no lights enough, the building almost empty and the few guest closed in the rooms in the darkness (the sky turned very dark those days). The situation made me so nervous because I didn't wanted to stay there as a prisoner, and a couple of weird situations happened and I didn't like it (I prefer not to tell it in here because I understand that the staff was living in the same uncertainty as us). I would appreciated more humanity and some kind detail to the guests that day. Just this :-)
I like Generator because it still accepted guests unlike other hotels which cancelled my reservation due to Corona virus. So clearly it was not my first choice. However, I still enjoyed staying there as it's close to Colonel Fabien Metro station and there're open stores and pizza and burger restaurants opposite the hotel (not easy to find ones during this time)
The room I chose was the 8 bed dormitory. The room's not that spacious for 8 beds.
The most important things: cleanliness (maybe the best hostel you can stay in), great showers, nice breakfast, good ambience, etc.
The only point I didn't enjoyed about the Generator is that, compared to the Generator Miami, this has less common areas to stay calm without thinking in the schedule rules.
Has everything you need. Location was great. Room was fantastic, huge balcony. Awesome view from bar. Great staff.
Beds were not comfortable, springs dig into your ribs or back. Food & drink abit expensive
