Nice and quiet, they must have put a lot of effort into soundproofing. The building is very elegant. Receptionists are a bit offhand, but that seems to be the Naples style.
Excellent value for money, beautiful design and very comfortable rooms. Situated close to the central train station and the area around looks a bit dodgy.
Excellent all round Just the location with all the rubbish on the streets !
The hotel was like an oasis. Very good, modern design, very comfortable roome and a delightful courtyard in the middle of a so-so area of Naples. I can't think of anything.
In my opinion, this hotel is very good. The people working in this hotel are very warm-hearted and very professional. I feel very happy to stay here for one week.
Breakfast is fantastic. The hotel has a big courtyard and view from the room is nice. The interior is also cool. The hotel is renovated an old nobles mansion, and we could relax in spite of the outer noisy area. I didn't feel the area safe especially at night. Far from the central station and Naples port.
Breakfast is good
One of the girls working at the reception was very friendly and cheerful, even though she didn`t speak English Where to start? Twice in 4 days we had no hot water. Only one of the hotel staff spoke good English. Very, very poor breakfast and even worse coffee. It was very noisy, both outside and inside the hotel. They don`t deserve 3 stars, it was more like 1,5. The area is like whole Naples - dodgy.
Relaxed atmosphere. Good price. Friendly, helpful staff.
location, windows into a courtyard - so very quiet, friendly staff, laid back poor breakfast
the warm breads and croissants A liitle more on the breakfast would be nice
Coffee especially good. Made properly for a change!
Clean hotel and very friendly staff, Nice neighbourhood.
Very good value for money. Owner insisted on us having breakfast, even though we got up too late! Front desk check in was not very friendly.
very helpful staff
Hotel is located near the National Archeological Museum, the Duomo and other churches of interest, and the Cavour Metro Station. The two rooms that I occupied -- the first room was vacated to allow bathroom repairs to proceed -- were quiet. Free wifi, with good reception in the breakfast area and in rooms located near breakfast area. Rooms are small.
The staff was very friendly and willing to help us with all of our random questions. I also loved that the hotel was air conditioned, as it is in Naples, which can be very hot. The water pressure in the shower was very bad after the first day. However, we did not mention it to the staff, so they may have been able to remedy it if we had asked. (We were only there for 3 days.)
It was easy to go shopping from here and there were close a bus-stop if I wanted to go other part of the city. Room was quiet and big enough. Breakfast is till 10am, but if we arrived at 9.30 am or later there were not enough food and they couldnt bring us more. Bathroom was a bit small and the toilet looked not clean. Hotel area is very dirty and mornings aeroplanes fly above the hotel with big noise.
The hotel staff were excellent and very accommodating. The air conditioning unit broke down in the room on the second night, we were moved to another room without question. It was a noisy room, but the air conditioning was good. The square the entrance of the hotel was in was dirty, rubbish was piled up in containers at the entrance of the square, it was very smelly. Although the hotel had signs for a roof terrace, it wasn't open and looked as if it needed work done to it. We found a bar nearby for refreshments, but had to ask where the nearest restaurant was, that was 15 minute walk away. I would question the 4 star rating of this hotel, it didn't measure up to other 4 star hotels we have stayed at in other countries.
The hotel is in the heart of the historical centre. Breakfast was sufficient and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Very quiet hotel and a good night sleep had by all. Luckily we were only using our room to sleep in as we were exploring the city from morning till night. We had a very tacky 'family' room no. 207 which had no natural light and although a very clean room was let down by the black mold growing on the wall. It was a shame really because we looked in one of the suites which was on the front of the building and this looked really nice. Roof terrace was closed and looked run down, maybe only open in the summer months!
Right in the heart of Naples. Very comfortable hotel and very helpful staff.
location in middle of the historic centre (although the historic centre of Naples is pretty dirty and a complete mess). However, the more beautiful parts of the city are elsewhere (e.g. closer to the port next to the castle). Staff members were friendly though. rooms (dark, somehow uncosy, cheap and unstable equipment, no safe, only little number of satellite programs, one radiator as heating: not enough to heat up the room accordingly, stationery: broken pencil); breakfast (little choice); too expensive for what was offered.
Room wasn't cleaned when I checked in. The Internet doesn't work. Staff was very unprofessional. I have no idea how this is a 4 star hotel, more like 2 or 3.
Very helpful staff, a very good location in the heart of the old town, but quiet and relaxing too. NO
The staff were extremely pleasant and the location was good, though the hotel was a little hard to find. The room I was given was of a good size and the bathroom was fine. My room looked over a rather rundown courtyard were the neighbours would enjoy extremely loud shouted conversations, which seriously disturbed the tranquility! I was not impressed by the buffet breakfast. It was great if you likke lots of sticky, gooey sweet things for breakfast, but the choice of other things was limited to a couple of cold meats, one cheese, bread and apples. It was a adequate, but I would have expected very much better from a four star hotel.
The room was comfortable, spacious. The breakfast had several offerings. Maxime, the manager, was gracious and very helpful. The location took some getting used to. Hard to find street. The climb up 3 levels of stairs with luggage might prove difficult for some people.
I like the beauty of the palazzio, the original paintings on ceiling in the room and in the dining room. We had the impression not to be in an hotel but to live in real Napoli area.
The nice rooms, the spaceous bathrooms, well designed and beautifully decorated, the distance of the location to museums and the university. I would rather classify it as a Boutique B&B than as a hotel.
It was a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming hotel. The staff were very friendly; it was all you would expect from a hotel.
The building was stunning, room excellent and the manager most attentive. Nothing.
Great manager, lovely rooms, excelent breakfast, great location. Wonderful hotel for those fit enough to walk up the stairs - not for the diabled.
Clean, comfortable, unique and lovely design, lovely staff
The hotel is located in a building built in the 1600's but the rooms are very modern and comfortable. The best feature was Maxim, the manager, who gave us wonderful advice on places to eat and see in Naples and made us very comfortable while visiting in his city. We were not prepared for the first impression of the building where the hotel is located when our taxi dropped us off. We found that in Naples the exterior of most buildings are no reflection of what you may find inside and were very pleasantly surprised once we were in the hotel.
The manager was at our beckon call. He was very helpful in every way. It was a hard to find-"off the beaten path"-even for the taxi driver from the airport. The button at the gate to the courtyard of the hotel needs to be labeled better especially at night.
Very high quality forniture / refurbishment, the common room for breakfast is a stucco room and looks more like a private living room (with couches and flat screen further to the tables) than a breakfast room since it's in a period building, there is no lift anyway the manager carried the luggage downstairs for us
The hotel is conveniently located, close to the old town. The staff were very rude. They were particularly unwelcoming due to the fact that we were travelling with a child. The hotel is on the third floor and does not have an elevator. The hotel is located in a very rough alleyway off the old town. Despite claiming to be a bed and breakfast, the hotel only gives a token for a cafe around the corner for a brioche and a coffee. That's a 2 Euro breakfast! This is the worst B+B I have staryed in for a long time!
Very nice location & accomodation, friendly staff, and kind helpfull neighbours, Nobody at the location, with help of neigbours we reached the owner, this could be solved by putting recent gsm number on the door. (must say, we made a late reservation.) Unfortunaly very hard matresses and only cold water, but for one night ok!.
A good location in the centre of historical center. For Naples the location was quite quiet. Difficult to find the hotel - especially during the night. Although you see the odd numbers on the right side of the street, the hotel is on the top of the street on its left side, a third house from the crossroad.
all a very very good, compliments..
Walking up 96 steps with luggage after a long air flight as well as each time we had to leave for the day. Breakfast 3 blocks away from the rooms. A 4 square foot shower.
I was very close to real life of city... It's not a hotel....It's Bed&Breakfast spot.
Breakfast and location, room facilities Non English speaking staffs.
The location of the hotel is very bad, not really safe and in a building with families. There is no one there when you need something. For example when your room does not close and people enter in it in the middle of the night........ And to do everything perfect they also give you a ticket to have a breakfast in a place which is close..... We really did not have a good time there!
good location in the middle of the city no heating
The rooms are excellent. The location is excellent, in the middle of the mediaeval city centre on a typical narrow street, amidst original Napolitan family life. You get your typical Italian (one piece of pastry and a cup of coffee) in the famous pasticceria of Angelo Carbone (directly round the corner). Some excellent (and really non-expensive restaurants and trattorie are directly around (pizzeria Gino Sorbillo, trattoria da Carmine, ristorante al Grifo). The reception is always closed, you need to telephone in order to make contact (bring your mobile phone!) and the staff do not keep their promises. Rooms are cleaned at irregular intervals as is the renewal of towels and the quality of cleaning varies also. You need to climb stairs to get to your room and the reception, as the elevator is strictly private (for he staff).
