Proximity to the Waterfront was good and there is parking for visitors. Lack of good printing facilities and Internet access.
Room very good standard with all modern appliances etc Disjointed services - Reception in a different building to bar/restaurant Access by road/path to V & A Waterfront was very difficult despite being nearby Reception Staff not very helpful but other staff very pleasant
Staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. Room was clean in a state of good repair and well fitted out No parking outside hotel entrance when wanting to book in
Walking distance to V & A The suites were adequate for couples, but I would certainly not be recommend this hotel for acquaintances traveling together, clear glass to the shower and no wall or door separating the bedroom from the bathroom is not ideal for those wanting privacy. The hotel had a feel of a council housing block. Won't be returning
Proximity to waterfront
Very nice room, well located for the v&a Waterfront and the City Centre
Great facilities and pleasant environment
Comfortable hotel with kind friendly and helpful staff. Close to the conference center and shops. Very good transport system.
convenient location near V and A waterfront for shopping and trips friendly staff reasonable cost breakfast was expensive staff, though friendly, had limited knowledge of area should create better walk path to V and A
The security was excellent! Staff very helpfull and friendly!
manager, bobby-lee was great...made us feel at home.thanks dewald needs to brush up on his customer service, if i am the client i need to be treated like i am the only one who exist in that moment, we had an incident at the hotel where the the panic alarm went off and we paniced and rush out, justine ask what was going on and dewald just rushed pasted us....
The super friendly staff, especially those on duty in the breakfast room, totally lifted my mood. Inexperienced check-in staff.
Staff were very good and went out of their way to help. Room service and service in general was fast and responsive. The hotel also demonstrated a good eye for detail.
Nice rooms. Proffesional and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is near the Waterfront and we could see a bit of the sea from our window. It is also close to the citycenter and during daytime we could walk there.
Good location with pleasing decor and excellent breakfast We had beautiful loft room with balcony, very spacious but with inadquate storage space for our clothes.
Location next to cape quarter is perfect , easy walking distance to V&A waterfront and city centre . Buses at front door Very noisy . Window panes are paper thin and air con is a giant box in the wall . Terrible internet , free until 100 mb ? Seriously ? In a wifi connected apple era ! And as slow as dial up . Staff average , very " apathetic attitudes "
the glass tiles in the bathroom the room and hall was very dark, the elevators were slow and cranky, the staff was either swamped or confused
Absolutely nothing, it was the most awful hotel I have ever stayed at, I would never recommend staying here and will not return. Very noisy property, unfriendly front desk staff, major complaint was noise both from traffic and from loft room above whereby you hear people constantly walking up and down the stairs. Awful.....
I think the staff was extremely friendly and professional. Great breakfast buffet everyday. It was within walking distance of several areas I wished to visit.
The lofts on the top floor had excellenet views onto the waterfront and the world cup stadium in greenpoint. The staff are very friendly both at the front desk and in the breakfast room. the rooms and hallways smelt of smoke. I needed to change my loft twice before I was given a loft that had no smoke odour.
Fantastic staff and service attitude and solution orientation is world class. The treatment how they prepared the room for our anniversary was unforgettable.
The general convenience of the location.
Balcony with a view. Quite surroundings. Restaurants nearby. Ok breakfast.
The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The location is good. And the styling is charming The rooms were too small. The walls were too thin and you could hear everytime a guest would enter. Antiquated key system. I had a keyring with 4 keys on it. Breakfast was ordinary and prices were high. There were easily much better options available around and the only reason why they are not known is coz they dont have online booking facilities
Free internet acces, continental breakfast very good. Room very comfortable & luxury after 3 weeks under canvas. Situated in the Waterkant region which has numerous restaurants & bars, also very safe.
The location, but it was at the top of a steep hill. My first room was adjacent to the front door and public telephone. So, it was very noisy.I Then moved to a room in an adjacent building which was fine. The tv reception is very limited in its choice of channels
convenience room too close to reception
The staff were excellent, as were the facilities themselves. The location was perfect, as well.
Hotel location is excellent with a lot of restaurants, markets, malls, places to visit....Staff is very professional and gave all details related to the city, touristic points...Excellent breakfast. Room could be a little bit more clear
Frendly reception, clear explanation about the room, neighbourhood etc
The staff and owners were incredibly nice, friendly, helpful about accommodations, services, and tour planning. Great great value.
There was no Aircon !!!!
The atmosphere was relaxed, the location was perfect for the city/waterfront/bars. Facilities in the cottage had everything The only thing was the bathrooms were not to the same standard as the rest of the cottage (but had everything you needed) and the internet showed pictures of a pool but there wasn't a pool for the cottage we were in.
I loved my stay at de waterkant village , the service was excellent and is very central There is nothing bad that I can say about de waterkant village , it was a wonderfull experience and I will most definately be coming again
Great Location, comfortable spacious apartments.
Excellent value for money; service from Charles when I checked in was impeccable. Nasty mouldy smell from cupboards in kitchen
Amazing location and great views. Very spacious and comfortable apartment. In the heart of happening De Waterkant. The area has a quaint European feel.
I liked specially the quality and good taste of furniture and decoration even too very small details, different from most international hotels. The they offer an overnight kit that is very usefull (teas, coffe, sugar, sweetner, etc) Reception desk at time is difficult to attend even when you need to check-out. I think if you have a clarified working hours of the reception desk it you be a good idea.
Location in city within walking distance of tourist facilities. Spacios and private.Great family holiday accommodation Booking.com messed up my booking
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Rooms were very clean and location was excellent-safe, secure and easy access to all amenities. Highly recommended
The setup is unique and interesting. It is good value for the price paid. No table, no phone, and no heat in the room. Lack of heating could be a problem if it gets colder that it was during my stay. Also, Internet access was intermittent, and my room was not covered by the free WiFi signal.
location, room furnishings, space, terrace facilities, internet access room service was non-existant. for that sort of money you expect staff to come in each day, tidy up the room, change towels where necessary and refill the coffee and tea sachets. they didn't do it. we went at world cup so you would expect a price-hike but even so the price was a bit too much relative to other places
Clean rooms, confort, price, facilities, excelent attendants care. It would be great if the hosted people and the employees don't smoke at inside square, between kitchen and rooms 4 and 5, because the smoke get into rooms 4, 5 and 6. And, that's an unpleasant experience.
The Charles was a charming guesthouse right in the town's Waterkant section. We loved the views from the rooftop decks and the room was unique. Kenny was especially helpful. We didn't have a phone, radio, or clock in the room but were able to use our cell phone as an alarm. We also could not get more than 2 stations on the TV. These were minor issues.
Much nicer neighbourhood than the Waterfront. Centrally located nevertheless. Ideal for a first glimpse at Africa.
People are very kind, they always try to make you feel like being at home. Also, I can say that it was a superb relation quality/price. During the morning, people on the kitchen listen to loud music and talk early, 0730 or 0800h. This can disturb people from the rooms that are close to the kitchen.
Very clean, bright and big room. Good location, some nightlife in the area, and walking distance to Waterfront and Long street. Windows are not very well insulated (in the room I had), so small electric heater has a hard time when it gets very cold in winter. Breakfast took a long time to serve, it was stil good, though.
the location was excellent and the rooms ideal for a visit to cape town for the world cup. it would have been nice for the internet to have been available in the rooms.
Access to town and individuality
the location, the staff, the guests the fact that there was no fan in the rooms
