I was a little leery about staying at this hotel because of a rude interaction I'd had with someone on the phone when I called ahead at the hotel. But when I arrived, I thought this was going to be a decent place to stay. I was given a room in a remodeled portion of the motel. The furniture and decor was a bit odd, though, for a motel room. Very big, heavy wood furniture that seemed oversized and some strange vases and wall art. Also, the lighting was very dark and because I needed to do some work in the room that evening, I asked the evening manager, who seemed nice, for an additional table lamp which he brought over. Despite the decor, it seemed okay until....,I was a little leery about staying at this hotel because of a rude interaction I'd had with someone on the phone when I called ahead at the hotel. Very big, heavy wood furniture that seemed oversized and some strange vases and wall art. Also, the lighting was very dark and because I needed to do some work in the room that evening, I asked the evening manager, who seemed nice, for an additional table lamp which he brought over. All seemed okay until.... The issue I had with the hotel ended up being with the owner's unnecessary rudeness. The room I had been given had an unusually soft mattress. Had I realized this earlier in the evening I would have asked for another room but because I stayed up late to finish up some work on my computer, I didn't even get into bed until about 1am. The mattress seemed unusually soft, but I tried to make the best of it. I would fall asleep for brief periods but wake up in discomfort (pain in different parts of back or legs depending on how I slept.) By 3:30am I was well-aware that there was no way I would get a good night sleep but there did not seem to be anyone in the office from what I could see ( my room was directly across from the office). On top of a terrible night with little sleep, at 7:30am there was a large construction machine grating the gravel in the parking lot right in front of my room and it was setting off the alarm on my car. I spoke to the owner shortly while this was going on, explaining the terrible night sleep because of the mattress, and asked if he would give me discount on my room. He rudely said, "We never had a complaint" and basically said he wouldn't do anything to reduce my bill. I immediately recognized him (his voice) as the rude person who answered my call the day before. He told me I should have woken up the night manager for a new room and because I didn't he wasn't going to do anything. So I asked him for another room that I could use until the 11am check-out time so that I could get a few hours sleep. He refused flat-out, saying "I can't give you a room for a few hours." I asked "why not?" but refused to give me an answer. At that point I became more than irritated, and insisted. His wife came in the office and they discussed something in another language and he finally put me in another room, insisting that I not let my dog on the bed. Not acceptable, since I'd paid an additional pet fee. However, I agreed as my dog will not go on any furniture unless I allow her. However, when I entered that new room my dog, without getting on the bed, started to intently smell several spots on the bed covering, a sure sign that the cover was not clean. It ended up that I didn't stay anyway because the noise from the construction on the parking lot made it impossible to sleep. Aside from the rudeness of the owner, I seriously question the cleanliness of this hotel because, in addition to my dog's fascination with the smells on the linens, I saw that the housekeeping cart and all the "clean" supplies (i.e. towels, sheets, tp, etc) for cleaning rooms was stored in what appeared to be an unfinished, i.e. shed-like, addition to this motel. What may appear to be a clean room may not actually be clean.
Check-in was quick and professional. Rooms and bathrooms were super clean and decorated more like a guest room than a motel room. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Very clean and neat. Bed was comfortable and shower hot, only hotel I've been to with a nice shower head in a long time. Very cold bathroom, seema like no insulation anywhere but very clean!
Great value, very clean. Recently remodeled rooms.
Staff was nice. Room was remodeled and very clean. A good value.
Very clean room and easily accessible. Small room and noisy cooler.
Rooms were clean. Older motel but had been updated. Would stay there again.
Hotel is old but clean. Within 5 minutes driving to downtown. Good value for the money.
They were trying to improve on what they have with a fairly extensive remodel. The first they gave me had a distinctive smell... I couldn't identify it; but they kindly gave me another room. The second room also had a strong soap smell but it was nicer.
I liked that we were able to get a comfortable room at the last minute. The quarters were tight, but it was all we needed for one night. Bed was comfortable.
The staff was super friendly, even when I had unusual requests.
The room was very small but I was a lone traveler and I could tell it was the smallest room out of all of them. It was very clean and comfortable, and check in was extremely fast.
Big rooms. Good value. Rooms are a bit outdated - decor is old fashion. New carpeting would make the rooms seem cleaner.
Older property, but clean and very well maintained. Mid-sized flat screen TV, adequate wifi, and in-room coffee were nice. Rooms were oddly shaped and varied in size.
For the price especially, this was the nicest and cleanest room I have ever been in. I will definitely be coming back. Hot water, clean rooms, comfortable bed, a little low on the water pressure when lots of people are showering but not too bad it's a great place to stay for 1-2 people. Only down side if you can call it that is the managers check in room is one of the rooms there and the desk if you can call it that is beside the bed..
This is a great value.
Clean, comfortable, good value. Staff was friendly, appreciate wifi & in room coffee
The bathroom was clean The floor wasn't the greatest
Friendly front desk staff Wifi was not reliable. Rooms were clean but basic.
Friendly staff Average facilities, location, cleanliness just okay.
The free breakfast was delicious and filling!! Fresh fruit, the best coffee and so much to choose from. The bed wAs very comfortable! Slept like a log! Can't think of anything I didn't like. However we wished we weren't so rushed with other plans so we could have sat in the hot tub
Loved the bed, very comfortable! I was actually tempted to ask the front desk what kinds of mattresses they use. The price was the only thing I didn't really like. The breakfast was good, but the food/room didn't justify $170/night.
Just off highway 97, convenient. Wi-Fi internet too slow, gave up trying to check. Hard boiled eggs on ice-too cold, would prefer scrambled eggs and bacon.
The breakfast was good. The normal rates are over priced for the age of the facility; but when you can book through an internet booking site, the prices are more in line with what the rooms are worth.
We didn't have bath towels in our room, so I went to the front desk to ask for two. I was told they were still in the laundry room, so another staff member went to go get them for me. She said she'd deliver them to my room, which was great, but she came back with a few pool towels and said they didn't have any bath towels available. I would have liked to be told that I could check back in the morning at the front desk for bath towels -- pool towels are not absorbent, let alone, super tiny. It just seemed a little weird. Also, the pool was open until 10pm, but there are no lights on either around the pool or in the pool. We went at around 9:30 and decided it was too creepy to swim.
Room stunk like dog do do and wet hair from same. Light bulbs burned out. Told front desk without any action. Police took down armed persons right outside our door. Got sick from eating hard boiled eggs from the breakfast buffet. Used to be good but not anymore..
the rooms were clean and comfortable this is our third visit and found the service lacking. It took two hous to get a bulb for the room and that's only after we went to the desk. No coffee in the morning (7am) only cereal, old muffins for food. Very disappointed on this trip
Mini refrigerator, micro, coffee maker in room. Good coffee and waffles at breakfast Room was next to a stairwell where smokers constantly puffed smoke into our room. Add oat meal to breakfast
Seemed newly remodeled and breakfast was alright
Your site will not let me score the hotel properly
Pool, breakfast, friendly manager. Dirty carpets in room.
They serve a decent breakfast; gravy and biscuits every day, fresh cooked waffles, cereals, yogurt, boiled eggs, fruit, great coffee. And most of the staff was great. One of the staff was a snot nosed brat that was not helpful at all. WiFi was hit or miss. If you can find the Sugar Loaf on Kayak it's a great deal.
Friendly staff, clean rooms Internet didn't work in my room even though the offer high speed internet.
There were two good things about this place. The guy working the front counter when we checked in on Feb 5 (2016) was very nice and helpful. The other thing is the biscuits and gravy in the continental breakfast were pretty good. There were quite a few things we didn't like. We were told all the rooms in the hotel were non-smoking, but ours stunk badly of cigarette smoke. Tried calling the front desk to let them know, but the phone was inoperative. The carpets were filthy and stained. One bed made a large clanking sound anytime you sat on it or rolled over while laying on it. Out of the four clean towels provided, one had a large grease stain and one had, what looked like, FECES on it. When I brought the fecal towel to the attention of the front desk lady on the morning of Feb 7th (2016), she responded with, "what do you want me to do!" In other words she was very rude. I recommend staying away from this motel. I've stayed here several times over the past few years and it has been getting progressively worse.
Clean, affordable, nice staff, and walking distance to Deschutes brewery. Did the job nicely as far as a place to lay your head after a few nights out camping.
Older motel building but clean, well-maintained, and pleasant. Mini fridge (with freezer) and coffee maker in room. Cleaner than other more expensive and/or chain hotels. Good location. Comfortable bed.
You think of a motel as a crap in the hole, but this motel was very satisfying. It was very clean and the front desk was nice also. If we visited Bend Oregon again, we would definitely stay here again. There was no downfall to this stay.
Liked the location, the fact they had a microwave and fridge, and all at a great price bed wasn't that comfortable, otherwise nothing bad to say
Comfortable big bed with lots of pillows ork area and nice remodelled clean bathroom with a big bath tub and shower.
Our room had a remodeled bathroom with nice tile and upscale fixtures. Decor was simple but nice and the curtains blocked sun well. AC was on and the room was comfortable when we arrived on a 100 degree day. The bed and pillows were firmer than I prefer
For the price exactly what I'd expect. Clean and convenient
Front desk was friendly. We had a non-smoking room and it smelled like cigarettes when we got to the room. Also part of the wall was bashed in from the door knob. We have a toddler and it was not healthy for him. Cig smell and bashed wall?! What if it's made of asbestos?
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The only other place I've stayed at that would compare would be a place by Disney Resort but it was more than 3 times the price there. When we went, Bend was a winter wonderland. Imagine our happy surprise when we first enter our room to find that the staff had turned on the heater prior to checking in so the room was toasty warm. Everything we needed was in the room, it was clean, comfortable, and it's within walking distance to downtown. The staff was very friendly, even when we checked out before dawn. If we ever visit Bend again, you bet we'll be staying here.
A great value in a clean comfortable room they have done a lot of upgrades since the last time we stayed and they look great had very few negatives if you would like a clean comfortable room and a great value and spend your time outside exploring Bend then this is your motel Not many negatives other than there was a little bit of work being done during the day it didn't matter because we were out and about
The motel was extremely clean and nicely decorated. You could tell they cared about the comfort of their guests! The air conditioner was extremely noisy, so made sleeping a little difficult.
Decent location Non-smoking motel with rooms that smell from cleaners and bedding that reeks from fabric softener or bleach.
Clean room. The owner reprimanded me & warned me of all the things he does not approve of. I had yet to check in. Then he proceeded to charge me $80 a weekday. I requested a second night and he (again) reprimanded me & reminded me of all his policies and said he never rents to anyone for a second night until he personally takes a walk-thru of the room. Have I mentioned I was there on business? He proceeded to walk into the room. I had made the bed, used none of the glassware, towels, etc. He looked at me (while pointed his finger at me) and said 'Ok, I will only rent to you for one more night. That is all.' Then he proceeded to charge me $80 (again, on a weekday). In all my business travels, this was the worst service I have ever experienced. Oh, they advertise 'complimentary breakfast.' Breakfast entailed apple juice, Lil Deb danish rolls and brown bananas.
Great breakfast selection! Nice clean rooms.
The front desk people were very welcoming, polite and helpful. The room was very clean and had all the desired amenities. The room was very comfortable. The cleaning staff was very polite and helpful. 2 lamps did not turn on. The refrigerator was too cold. It froze the 1/2 n 1/2 I bought but I just let it sit out to thaw and all was good.
The room was very nicely decorated and clean. The person in the office was very nice.
very quiet nice people very clean and comfortable room fun playground for small children :) horrible breakfast never mind it cannot be called a breakfast!!!!!! not so good location
Nothing fancy, but was a good place to stay at a descent price Wouldn't mind a few breakfast options, but can't complain.
Everything was great
Location worked well for us, as it was within easy walking distance of downtown. Room was small. Holiday pricing was really high.
It was clean and you could tell the owners care about upkeep. The beds were extremely uncomfortably...almost left before the second night to drive home because beds were such an issue.
Fridge and microwave were clutch. There was a cockroach in my room and the maids wouldn't acknowledge it and just kinda walked away without responding to me about it.
Location and staff, dog friendly. Pillow and bed rock hard. Rates more than what was delivered, i.e., not a great value whatsoever.
Clean, reasonably comfortable - always love the waffles for breakfast. Evening desk attendant friendly and helpful. Hallway noise bothersome early in the morning, entire facility well-worn and drab, "hot" water for breakfast tea only warm and wasn't refreshed even after we requested it.
Staff was excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very poor. Limited selection and very small area to eat in.
Staff were friendly and helpful, no issues during the stay and fee to stay were minimal.

The location was great. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was noisier than I expected. The traffic seemed louder than I'm used to when staying at similar hotels.
Friendly staff, room was clean, good price Location, AC didn't work well, road noise
Location was centrally located to most of my needs. Parking was easy. Free WiFi. Shower was very small and inconvenient to use. No clock in the room.
I liked that it is not far from downtown, it is in a good central location. I liked that they tried to making it as comfortable as they could for being an older place. My wife and I enjoyed our stay. To be honest, if I say something negative, I would be a person who loves to complain. The things that I did not like have to do with my preferences and has nothing to do with the hotel.
Simple, straightforward checkin/checkout process. Simple room, basics were there.
allowed us to check in early as we arrived early.check in was very polite and helpful. heater had remote that was difficult to understand how to operate.......may have worked good if we knew how to operate it.

Room was nicely decorated. It was smaller than most master bedrooms I'd guess, but well laid out, with a table, 2 chairs, small fridge and coffee pot. Plus a good flat screen. Bed was very soft and pillowyAbove and beyond my expectations for a 1 star. The shower! Water temperature fluctuated a lot if other guests were showering or flushing. The hosts forgot to put a do not disturb card in our room, we came back to find our clothes and stuff packed back in our bags and moved. It was a bit strange.
People where nice Needs remodel asap
Nice bath towels King size bedroom very small room and fridge made a annoying sound and decor very dark not good WiFi
Mom and pop type shop. It was pretty basic with the usual. Was good if you just needed a place to stay. Wifi didn't work at times. People were loud at night.
It was exciting to stay at what could be the set of a horror film. Shabby exterior, dim lighting, phone ringing with no person on the other line... All of these contributed to the horror-esque ambiance of the place. I found fleas in the bathroom. Therefore, we slept on top of the bed just to make sure we were not dinner for any small creatures lurking in the hidden cracks and crevices of the mattress and bed frame. I wasn't itchy the next day, so that was nice.
the room was spacious and clean, we got an extra bed. over all we really enjoyed our stay there and it was a great price.
We arrived at 8 pm, and had to ring the night bell. The owners were rude, and became disgruntled when we declared our dogs, despite saying that they were pet friendly. The shower had two settings.... nuclear reactor hot, and glacial melt off cold. . . Nothing in between. I should have known based on the empty parking lot
The room was clean and pretty comfortable. There is a factory across the way that made my room smell like diesel exhaust. Gave me a mad headache.
Towels were small and hard/scratchy. Only 1 pillow per side and they were flat and really small- had to go out and buy my own pillows and bath towels at the store. Very disappointed.
Nice staff, good value, clean basic room Bring your own shampoo
