I was a little leery about staying at this hotel because of a rude interaction I'd had with someone on the phone when I called ahead at the hotel. But when I arrived, I thought this was going to be a decent place to stay. I was given a room in a remodeled portion of the motel. The furniture and decor was a bit odd, though, for a motel room. Very big, heavy wood furniture that seemed oversized and some strange vases and wall art. Also, the lighting was very dark and because I needed to do some work in the room that evening, I asked the evening manager, who seemed nice, for an additional table lamp which he brought over. Despite the decor, it seemed okay until....,I was a little leery about staying at this hotel because of a rude interaction I'd had with someone on the phone when I called ahead at the hotel. Very big, heavy wood furniture that seemed oversized and some strange vases and wall art. Also, the lighting was very dark and because I needed to do some work in the room that evening, I asked the evening manager, who seemed nice, for an additional table lamp which he brought over. All seemed okay until.... The issue I had with the hotel ended up being with the owner's unnecessary rudeness. The room I had been given had an unusually soft mattress. Had I realized this earlier in the evening I would have asked for another room but because I stayed up late to finish up some work on my computer, I didn't even get into bed until about 1am. The mattress seemed unusually soft, but I tried to make the best of it. I would fall asleep for brief periods but wake up in discomfort (pain in different parts of back or legs depending on how I slept.) By 3:30am I was well-aware that there was no way I would get a good night sleep but there did not seem to be anyone in the office from what I could see ( my room was directly across from the office). On top of a terrible night with little sleep, at 7:30am there was a large construction machine grating the gravel in the parking lot right in front of my room and it was setting off the alarm on my car. I spoke to the owner shortly while this was going on, explaining the terrible night sleep because of the mattress, and asked if he would give me discount on my room. He rudely said, "We never had a complaint" and basically said he wouldn't do anything to reduce my bill. I immediately recognized him (his voice) as the rude person who answered my call the day before. He told me I should have woken up the night manager for a new room and because I didn't he wasn't going to do anything. So I asked him for another room that I could use until the 11am check-out time so that I could get a few hours sleep. He refused flat-out, saying "I can't give you a room for a few hours." I asked "why not?" but refused to give me an answer. At that point I became more than irritated, and insisted. His wife came in the office and they discussed something in another language and he finally put me in another room, insisting that I not let my dog on the bed. Not acceptable, since I'd paid an additional pet fee. However, I agreed as my dog will not go on any furniture unless I allow her. However, when I entered that new room my dog, without getting on the bed, started to intently smell several spots on the bed covering, a sure sign that the cover was not clean. It ended up that I didn't stay anyway because the noise from the construction on the parking lot made it impossible to sleep. Aside from the rudeness of the owner, I seriously question the cleanliness of this hotel because, in addition to my dog's fascination with the smells on the linens, I saw that the housekeeping cart and all the "clean" supplies (i.e. towels, sheets, tp, etc) for cleaning rooms was stored in what appeared to be an unfinished, i.e. shed-like, addition to this motel. What may appear to be a clean room may not actually be clean.
Great value, very clean. Recently remodeled rooms.
Check-in was quick and professional. Rooms and bathrooms were super clean and decorated more like a guest room than a motel room. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Hotel is old but clean. Within 5 minutes driving to downtown. Good value for the money.
Very clean and neat. Bed was comfortable and shower hot, only hotel I've been to with a nice shower head in a long time. Very cold bathroom, seema like no insulation anywhere but very clean!
Staff was nice. Room was remodeled and very clean. A good value.
Rooms were clean. Older motel but had been updated. Would stay there again.
Very clean room and easily accessible. Small room and noisy cooler.
This hotel is way over priced. I spent 144.00 per night for a outdated room. Also when trying to sleep you hear kids running in the halls and when I told the front desk. They said we cant stop the kids from running and I said no but you could relocate my room. No one followed up nor did a thing about it. I did get a 44.00 discount when I checked out but considering everything I would not stay there again. They also only gave us one room key because they were short. Just like another customer complained about
The hotel was a little outdated, but the room was huge and very comfortable. We really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub to warm up after rafting the cold Deschutes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. And we liked the location. The complimentary breakfast wasn't great. All of the hot food was cold, so we went somewhere else for breakfast. But the room was such a great value, we didn't really mind.
Location is good. Rooms haven't been updated ever - not even the bedding. We had bed bugs in our room. Complimentary breakfast is supposed to start at 6 but restaurant was still closed at 6:10.
Location and relatively low price. Bedding was long in the tooth, and carpet not clean
Pool & spas & saunas & steam room were the best!! The breakfast brunch could be a little better. Need Real fresh juice & fresh fruits. Added tea selections & bacon to go with the sausage's.
Nice outdoor pool, convienant location and on-site lounge. Not the cleanest rooms but would be great with kids.
Large suite for the price and the indoor pool open until 2300. The entire suite that we stayed in had not been updated in the last 30 years. Old carpet and upholstery on the furniture. The toilet looked like a tiny spaceship, and the tv was a big cube that was on a cart that rolled around the suite as far as the cables would allow. The continental breakfast was terrible, we got there with an hour before it closed, and had to wait for more plates, and there were only scraps left. No eggs, some small hard bits that used to be sausage, no potatoes, the bread was stale, juice was empty, etc. I won't be staying here again.
We made the reservation for two queen beds but when we got there they said they had us in a single king. We had to get a roll away for my kid. Theyou were all booked an we couldn't change rooms. There was something wrong when the Web page made the reservation.
I liked that it was conveniently located and no road noise. Breakfast is provided, but runs out of food quickly and doesn't get replenished in a timely manner. There doesn't seem to be any sort of housekeeping checklist. Found a dog turd under my bed, lampshades askew, missing lightbulbs, items from previous guests left behind in room, 1.5 pillows per person for a king size bed, had to wait at front desk for a breakfast voucher for 15 minutes, free breakfast was down to a handful of potatoes and some cold cereal by 8:45am and didn't see it get replenished for 30 minutes after I arrived, parking lot icy and dangerous, old square televisions, door between rooms splintered and not secure, lights in toilet room didn't work, very dark room even during the day.
The location was great. Easy access to freeways and near a lot of different activities. Also close to gas stations and places to eat. The staff was rude. My boyfriend and I drove to Bend from California to visit a friend. We arrived in Bend around 3am. When I walked up to the front desk to check in the guy at the desk acted like I was inconveniencing him. When I went to check in he told me our room was canceled. This was extremely upsetting because it was 3am and we were very tired and wanted to sleep. I just think it is very strange that no one bothered to call me to tell us our room was canceled. When I initially booked the room I got a confirmation email and received no further correspondence. The man at the front desk continued to repeat: "You should have called to let me know you were checking in late." Okay, fine, I get it. However, it was 3am and I didn't need to be hassled.
In our weekend stay, we received no maid service to change towels, make bed, vacuum. The carpet had several large wet spots. The television reception was poor. The room was very out dated with its decor from bedding to lamp fixtures. The toilet worked really hard to flush and the lighting was poor. Wish we hadn't stayed there. Not even worth what we paid. Think twice before booking here.
It was great The gps doesn't take you right to it, it marks it on the freeway but that's a minor issue.
Friendly staff Very well designed spacious room Fantastic location Comfortable stay
Staff was amazing and the entire lodge and restaurants were beautiful! Highly recommended!
Everything Tetherow had at the time of our stay was luxurious and very well maintained. This is an ideal location to getaway from the busy center of Bend for romance, business, and family, it currently offers a comforting and intimate remoteness compared to other hotel/resort options in the area. At the current rates Tetherow is an exceptional value. Book a stay before the expansion begins. What is unfortunate is the intention to expand from 50-units to 250-units in years to come, which will take away from the scenic and isolated appeal that Tetherow now offers. All that is currently missing are a few needed facilities: pool, spa, etc.
Four friends and I stayed for my birthday get away. We had never visited Bend before and this hotel was the perfect choice for our first impression. After being wooed by the luxurious appearence of the building itself and the gorgeous location, we were blown away again by the genuin hospitality of the staff. Everything was clean, the vibe is spot on,and it was overall extremely fulfilling. Good food, great shower, and the robes and beds are to DIE FOR!
It is not often that I will spend the time to fill out a survey. It has to be really great or awful. Yes, it was pricey. The Oxford Hotel Bend more then exceeded our expectations. The entire staff was excellent. Location perfect for our needs and clean.
It was outstanding That the restaurant was closed to private party
location, staff, and environment - beautiful rooms all with contemporary furnishings and comforts. Beautiful place. most of the room windows do not open. I moved to a room with a balcony door but the guest on one side was smoking on his balcony - against hotel rules. Not the hotel's fault but just a poor balcony design with little privacy. They graciously moved me.
Very nice hotel, super staff and a great bar and restaurant. I have stayed in hotels all over the world but the service at the Oxford was superb. Bend is a very nice town and there are a lot of great restaurants nearby. The free use of the bicycles is nice too as Bend is very bike friendly.
This is a beautiful hotel in an ideal location for accessing downtown Bend. The prices are reasonable and the staff hospitable. We enjoyed our modern room, comfortable bed, mountain view and great immenities. Our morning in the sauna completed the experience. We highly recommend this lovely hotel.
Getting a room facing the river was really nice. You had a feeling of being someplace special. Breakfast was also good and had a lot to offer.
Nice free Breakfast buffet in convenient location Heating system in room didn't perform well
Great view. Nice staff. Rooms are clean. Property could definitely use some updating though.
the wind goes down the chimney and your room becomes filled with smoke... not very romantic
Staff was very friendly. Bathroom in room was nice and clean. All noises outside the room; room service, people, cars, could be heard like it was inside your room in the morning.. Sleeping in is impossible
Staff was friendly, room was very clean. We were able to check in at 2 am and still get great customer service and a great room. Hotel was an overall great stay. Nothing negative to say expect for having a room next to the pool and hearing small children play in the pool at 8 am
Pool Horrible breakfast Loud maintenance trucks
Location The facility was a little dated, although inside the rooms had been remodeled.
Clean rooms, river view from patio, nice bathroom, indoor pool, free internet and 6 port charger with USB on table. No free breakfast and breakfast was expensive at Currents. Staff should have informed us that there is construction going on across the river. I guess they are putting in foundation for new building.
Loud construction noise in the morning ruined our stay.
It seemed to all be in place there was a lovely room with great view, restaurant was fun, staff where always there to help with anything of need. We would definitely recommend and stay there again.
Being on the river. Bed. Convenient location. Nice bar with good food. On the pricey side. Wait staff seemed quite stressed and not forthcoming with assistance.
Big rooms. Good value. Rooms are a bit outdated - decor is old fashion. New carpeting would make the rooms seem cleaner.
The room was very small but I was a lone traveler and I could tell it was the smallest room out of all of them. It was very clean and comfortable, and check in was extremely fast.
For the price especially, this was the nicest and cleanest room I have ever been in. I will definitely be coming back. Hot water, clean rooms, comfortable bed, a little low on the water pressure when lots of people are showering but not too bad it's a great place to stay for 1-2 people. Only down side if you can call it that is the managers check in room is one of the rooms there and the desk if you can call it that is beside the bed..
The bathroom was clean The floor wasn't the greatest
I liked that we were able to get a comfortable room at the last minute. The quarters were tight, but it was all we needed for one night. Bed was comfortable.
Older property, but clean and very well maintained. Mid-sized flat screen TV, adequate wifi, and in-room coffee were nice. Rooms were oddly shaped and varied in size.
The staff was super friendly, even when I had unusual requests.
They were trying to improve on what they have with a fairly extensive remodel. The first they gave me had a distinctive smell... I couldn't identify it; but they kindly gave me another room. The second room also had a strong soap smell but it was nicer.
This is a great value.
Clean, comfortable, good value. Staff was friendly, appreciate wifi & in room coffee
Friendly front desk staff Wifi was not reliable. Rooms were clean but basic.
Loved the bed, very comfortable! I was actually tempted to ask the front desk what kinds of mattresses they use. The price was the only thing I didn't really like. The breakfast was good, but the food/room didn't justify $170/night.
Friendly staff Average facilities, location, cleanliness just okay.
The free breakfast was delicious and filling!! Fresh fruit, the best coffee and so much to choose from. The bed wAs very comfortable! Slept like a log! Can't think of anything I didn't like. However we wished we weren't so rushed with other plans so we could have sat in the hot tub
I loved the originality! And my stay in the Art House (Room 1206) was CLEAN! quiet, and perfect. Your restaurant food was terrible. I had fried brussel sprouts that weren't cooked enough to even cut through with my knife. The sweet potato french fries were awesome though!!
Facilities were great and staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing major, but the couple little things were that the continental breakfast selection was very small. The complimentary drink upon checking in was limited to just hard cider or a house white or red wine. When I checked out the next day I saw cases of microbrews which had just been resupplied. These are both small things, but for the price I would have expected small things to all be sorted out.
Rooms large and clean. Nice comfortable furniture and bed. View of river!
We checked into this hotel for a few nights on our honeymoon. What an amazing experience! Flowers, wine and a chocolate dessert awaiting us in our room when we checked in. Breakfast in bed the next morning! Having the whirlpool tub and fireplace was fabulous after a long day on the mountain. Great views right on the river were hard to leave. Would stay here again for sure!
The view outside our room was stunning. It was a very clean quiet place. The staff was very friendly and breakfast in the morning was excellent. I would recommend this place to all my friends. : )
Rooms were nice, I like that they wash all the bedding between guests. Overall was quiet but you could hear every time someone left their room (door slam shut) Seems that would be easy enough to fix with padding strips around door. Made it hard to sleep in.
It was centrally located to The Old Mill district and downtown. It was clean and tastefully decorated. Modern facility. The bed was too firm, we woke up sore everyday. Same cookies every day needed variety.
Looked great At night you could hear every door close on the floor, all night. The staff were knocking all the doors at 9:00am which seemed to me a bit early. For having to pay for breakfast the selection was poor.
This was our first time staying at Pronghorn and we were smitten. The facilities were gorgeous and the grounds are breathtaking. We booked a Junior Suite which was very spacious. Huge bathroom, super comfortable king bed and the gas fireplace was a nice plus. Refrigerator, microwave, whole bean coffee with grinder and coffee maker. Just tons of nice features. We'll be back and book a bigger suite and bring the whole family next time! Super quiet and secluded as well. We didn't want to leave. Not a damn thing.
Rooms were clean and incredibly spacious. The staff were extremely friendly. We were checked in my a woman named Jennifer. Everything you would expect for the price. Would recommend. Would of liked more trailer accommodating parking spaces.
Loud people drinking and partying in the parking lot right in front of my room until 4 am. Located in a depressed section of town.
The breakfast was great.
Most 2-3 star Bend motels are way out of town. This one is centrally located, which was perfect for us as we needed to shuttle back and forth to the climbing gym. This also made it close to the Bite of Bend festival, and other leading restaurants around town center. Days Inn was a good $200 cheaper, cumulatively, than the next comparable motel, and that one was way out of town with its only on-paper advantage being an indoor pool. So good value. The pool is outdoor and the first 2 days were chilly, but the water is almost bath-warm, so going in was not a problem. The breakfast is not stellar, but definitely ample, with the the headline dish changing every day (waffle, oatmeal, etc.), but omelettes, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, etc. available every morning. They did some superficial renovations (paint, appliances, bathroom decor, etc.), but the beds are not very good, and the room as well as the entire building, feels outdated. Also, there was a bunch of long-stay young men (probably on some work detail) who were getting up at 5:30 every morning and idling their diesel truck for very long minutes. The first morning they were even yelling and laughing; later that day I asked one of them to be less loud at 5:30, and this didn't repeat. They still idled their truck right in front of our room the next morning. The last morning we lucked out; their truck was a few doors down ;) It is the hotel's responsibility to make sure they observe quiet-hours etiquette. The early-morning person can notice if people are making too much noise that early in the morning, esp. on a weekend when the motel is full. Last but not least, it'll be nice to have an extra 30-60 minutes for breakfast in the weekend. A 9:00 end time on Saturday or Sunday morning is a bit tight ;)
all night hot tub!
The breakfast was fantastic
Close to downtown, decent hot breakfast, inexpensive. Noisy location (loud semi trucks outside the building at night). Outdated furnishings and off-putting fluorescent lighting. Threadbare linens.
Room was quiet and worth the pricetag. Walking location to all the bars and restaurants was nice! Hotel breakfast was not very good
Location is good, staff friendly and the price reasonable. Good value! It is a little older but you get what you pay for.
If you are going to Bend to explore the area and just need a bed and some breakfast, this place works fine. If you are looking to spend your entire time at the Inn and not out exploring the area, stay somewhere more fancy. The carpet is a bit rough on bare feet, but that is not a deal-breaker.
reasonably close to medical appointment.
Pool, breakfast, friendly manager. Dirty carpets in room.
There were two good things about this place. The guy working the front counter when we checked in on Feb 5 (2016) was very nice and helpful. The other thing is the biscuits and gravy in the continental breakfast were pretty good. There were quite a few things we didn't like. We were told all the rooms in the hotel were non-smoking, but ours stunk badly of cigarette smoke. Tried calling the front desk to let them know, but the phone was inoperative. The carpets were filthy and stained. One bed made a large clanking sound anytime you sat on it or rolled over while laying on it. Out of the four clean towels provided, one had a large grease stain and one had, what looked like, FECES on it. When I brought the fecal towel to the attention of the front desk lady on the morning of Feb 7th (2016), she responded with, "what do you want me to do!" In other words she was very rude. I recommend staying away from this motel. I've stayed here several times over the past few years and it has been getting progressively worse.
the rooms were clean and comfortable this is our third visit and found the service lacking. It took two hous to get a bulb for the room and that's only after we went to the desk. No coffee in the morning (7am) only cereal, old muffins for food. Very disappointed on this trip
They serve a decent breakfast; gravy and biscuits every day, fresh cooked waffles, cereals, yogurt, boiled eggs, fruit, great coffee. And most of the staff was great. One of the staff was a snot nosed brat that was not helpful at all. WiFi was hit or miss. If you can find the Sugar Loaf on Kayak it's a great deal.
Your site will not let me score the hotel properly
Mini refrigerator, micro, coffee maker in room. Good coffee and waffles at breakfast Room was next to a stairwell where smokers constantly puffed smoke into our room. Add oat meal to breakfast
Room stunk like dog do do and wet hair from same. Light bulbs burned out. Told front desk without any action. Police took down armed persons right outside our door. Got sick from eating hard boiled eggs from the breakfast buffet. Used to be good but not anymore..
Friendly staff, clean rooms Internet didn't work in my room even though the offer high speed internet.
Seemed newly remodeled and breakfast was alright
The breakfast was good. The normal rates are over priced for the age of the facility; but when you can book through an internet booking site, the prices are more in line with what the rooms are worth.
Just off highway 97, convenient. Wi-Fi internet too slow, gave up trying to check. Hard boiled eggs on ice-too cold, would prefer scrambled eggs and bacon.
We didn't have bath towels in our room, so I went to the front desk to ask for two. I was told they were still in the laundry room, so another staff member went to go get them for me. She said she'd deliver them to my room, which was great, but she came back with a few pool towels and said they didn't have any bath towels available. I would have liked to be told that I could check back in the morning at the front desk for bath towels -- pool towels are not absorbent, let alone, super tiny. It just seemed a little weird. Also, the pool was open until 10pm, but there are no lights on either around the pool or in the pool. We went at around 9:30 and decided it was too creepy to swim.
Bed was comfortable Breakfast was $10, most other places include it, especially places this expensive. And the wifi was awful. Wouldn't stay connected for more than a few minutes. I could hear other guests' voices and footsteps.
Clean room. Great for having friends over. The bar was great to start and end at. Thanks for the fresh margaritas. Was put into an ADA room without being notified.
Pillows way to soft. No maps or information in the room. No phone book. Refrigerator not cold and no way to turn it down. No local info in the lobby.
Location was amazing! Size of room was great and super clean. Beds were big and comfortable. Loved the blankets! Heat and AC worked great. I loved te style of hotel and pool/spa area with deck right outside. Elevators were great for the three stories. Staff was awesome. There was a system glitch when I booked online and staff was helpful and kind and got me set up right away. We were able to go to room early at 1 PM which was great after lots of driving. Wish we stayed there all three nights. I definitely recommend. :)
Our room had a remodeled bathroom with nice tile and upscale fixtures. Decor was simple but nice and the curtains blocked sun well. AC was on and the room was comfortable when we arrived on a 100 degree day. The bed and pillows were firmer than I prefer
A great value in a clean comfortable room they have done a lot of upgrades since the last time we stayed and they look great had very few negatives if you would like a clean comfortable room and a great value and spend your time outside exploring Bend then this is your motel Not many negatives other than there was a little bit of work being done during the day it didn't matter because we were out and about
The motel was extremely clean and nicely decorated. You could tell they cared about the comfort of their guests! The air conditioner was extremely noisy, so made sleeping a little difficult.
You think of a motel as a crap in the hole, but this motel was very satisfying. It was very clean and the front desk was nice also. If we visited Bend Oregon again, we would definitely stay here again. There was no downfall to this stay.
Older motel building but clean, well-maintained, and pleasant. Mini fridge (with freezer) and coffee maker in room. Cleaner than other more expensive and/or chain hotels. Good location. Comfortable bed.
Decent location Non-smoking motel with rooms that smell from cleaners and bedding that reeks from fabric softener or bleach.
Liked the location, the fact they had a microwave and fridge, and all at a great price bed wasn't that comfortable, otherwise nothing bad to say
Front desk was friendly. We had a non-smoking room and it smelled like cigarettes when we got to the room. Also part of the wall was bashed in from the door knob. We have a toddler and it was not healthy for him. Cig smell and bashed wall?! What if it's made of asbestos?
Comfortable big bed with lots of pillows ork area and nice remodelled clean bathroom with a big bath tub and shower.
Clean, affordable, nice staff, and walking distance to Deschutes brewery. Did the job nicely as far as a place to lay your head after a few nights out camping.
For the price exactly what I'd expect. Clean and convenient
My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The only other place I've stayed at that would compare would be a place by Disney Resort but it was more than 3 times the price there. When we went, Bend was a winter wonderland. Imagine our happy surprise when we first enter our room to find that the staff had turned on the heater prior to checking in so the room was toasty warm. Everything we needed was in the room, it was clean, comfortable, and it's within walking distance to downtown. The staff was very friendly, even when we checked out before dawn. If we ever visit Bend again, you bet we'll be staying here.
Clean luxurious room
Very clean, newer hotel. Nothing
Located at The Old Mill District (shopping, restaurants, movie theatre, Deschutes River). Staying here is your best bet for parking/easy access during popular Old Mill events. It can get pretty challenging otherwise. It's great to be able to just check in and enjoy an event. No parking madness and no need for a designated driver. FYI: you only recieve one parking pass per room, at least when it's busy. I totally understand why; space is limited. Just don't be caught off guard.
Loved the location, staff very friendly, cleanliness!
Lots of great perks but my favorite perk was the friendly staff member Joe! He was helpful with things to do and places to eat and always a warm greeting when we left and when we returned! We had a great weekend and will return again! Thanks Joe!!!
Seemed very clean! Staff was very friendly. I noticed a bunch of things I wish other hotels have had in the past. It's the little things. We had a broken shower head, told the front desk, less then ten minutes we had a new one on. I will be looking to stay at these more when traveling.
I loved the location. Walking distance from Worthy Brewery and lots of local dining, including Baldy's Barbecue and Hola! They were remodeling and mattresses and furniture was in the hallways and blocking the ice machine and a lot of dust in the hallways and there was not a notice of remodeling at booking.
I was very pleased with my stay at Sleep Inn. The room was nice and very clean. The staff was excellent. The location was close to several restaurants and not too far from downtown. Overall a very pleasant stay.
