Fantastic resort - facilities, location and staff!!
Everything was perfect! The villas are wonderful, the restaurant is really good and the staff is really nice.
Simply decadent. Excellent service. Felt extremely pampered throughout the entire stay. Beautiful French colonial design.. epitome of comfort and style. Lovely place for couples / honeymoon. Weather is nice and cooling too. Located extremely out of the way (pros and cons). Dalat itself is difficult to get to and get out from (domestic flights often delayed/cancelled due to the wet weather). Do plan for extra time in case your flight / bus schedules get delayed.
The calm surrounding of the resort and the helpfull hand of the (Indian?) manager were probably the most positive. The fact that it is impossible to get any sullutions from the people who work at this resort when there is a problem. I would not recommend this hotel if you have any lung problems, because the villa's all have a lot of problems due to the high humidity. Everything is wet, and a few of the villa's they showed us had a lot of fungus. Also if you stay here, make sure that you ask for a dehumidifyer in advance! And ask them to dry the bedlinnen everyday, because it is al very wet due to the villa's problems with the high humidity.
Beautiful room in wonderful hotel. This was refurbished in the 90s, but still kept its charm - especially with the original 'cage' elevator! Staff was super friendly, accommodating and attentive. Breakfast was included at a nearby French cafe. Great food! My room was close to the elevator and steps and I could hear people walking up and down the wooden steps frequently- it was rather loud. Also, was awakened by visitor above me walking across floor rather loudly - not much in the way of sound proofing.
Nice rooms (very large, good design) and a good breakfast Sauna and whirlpool are not included in room-price and in a separately "karaoke and massage-club" (also for not guests of the hotel). The window of the room was very high and small, not the promised great view of the lake.
The staff were extremely helpful and the Hotel was located centrally within Dalat close to the main market and lake The charge to use the spa facilities and the barren appearance of the room (no pictures on the wall)
Staff was very nice and hotel is conveniently located in tourist district. Room was extremely moist and without A/C there wasn't anything we could do about it. Pervasive smell of cleaning supplies was irritating and someone (staff? other guests? neighbors?) was extremely loud talking and banging away during the day. Blanket was little more than a lumpy bag of cotton. I originally booked 2 nights in advance but after the first, I swallowed my losses and moved on to another place. Was offered a room at Tulip 2 for no extra charge, which I appreciate but it didn't seem an appreciable improvement.
We were upgrated as they would serve a group travellers soon. And they informed us it would be noisy in the morning. But it is acceptable in the morning. The loctation is excellent which is 5min walk to the lake and 10min walk to the market. Breakfast was so so. There is a baguette stall outside the hotel which can be a good choice.
