Auckland hotels near Viaduct Harbour

Cons: When we first checked in, the front desk Asian girl seemed a bit arrogant and didn't want to hear about our needs. The room was a good size, but was very smelly, dirty, and outdated. The bed mattress was horribly soft, we had to use extra pillows to lay on. The view and location were the only positive things. Fortunately, we didn't have to spend too much time in the room. Visiting this hotel should be your last resort and should not be called the Grand Windsor.

Cons: service was pretty average.

Cons: Lacks the small personal touches that other top hotels provide. Staff were reactive rather than proactive.

Cons: We booked this hotel for New Years Eve in Auckland. Besides being overpriced for the night in question, they charge ridiculous valet fees, put us in a handicap room with no bathtub, horrible view, and construction all around, put bacon on my Ceaser salad after I specifically said I was a vegetarian, brought the salad on filthy plates covered in chocolate from what I can only assume was the previous meal. Upon checkout no one even bothered to ask how my stay was. I asked for a manager and voiced my complaints. No attempt was made to remedy the situation.

Cons: Close to busy street, heard a little street noise late night/early morning.

Cons: Shocking bed: way too soft. Shower went boiling hot every minute or so.

Cons: A little bit far from harbor area restaurants but the park-like setting helped offset this.

Cons: I expected a lot more for the price. The rooms were small and rather beaten up. Even the ceiling had marks on it - and the floor was stained. The electric kettle still had water in it and was stained and dirty. The free wi-fi? You only get it for an hour. The parking wasn't even good - you have to pay an additional $25 and there are about 10 spots. This place is not worth it. I would suggest staying somewhere else unless you get a really good bargain. I was excited about staying in a "nice' hotel for the last night of our trip - but this wasn't nice.

Cons: Wifi was non existent even though it advertised. Carpet was kinda dingy.

Cons: As this had a kitchen I would expect kitchen cooking tools. There was no oven shelf, no oven tray and no cooking tools.

Cons: I was bitting by bed bug and left the hotel 4am. There was no other spare room for us, because apparently the hotel was fully booked. The receptionist didn’t even try to help us with other hotels. We actually saw the bed bugs on our beds and showed the receptionist. He took my bitten arm photos and called the manager and the management assured that I will be not charged, but unbelievably later on the hotel charged for the room. It was the worst experience.

Cons: Not great value for money. Loud doors, thin walls.

Cons: They call them self a hotel, there a lot more like a backpacker. No Tv, in your room, No A/C, heat ok, lots of people around with a lot of noise. If your going to be paying almost $50 a night pay $30 more and have a real hotel. I will NEVER stay there agian.
