6.0 Good
Pros: We were upgraded to a suite without asking; staff was eager to please but due to limited English skills problems arose throughout; good breakfast buffet; clean; excellent location centrally located within walking distance to bell tower, walls, Muslim quarter
Cons: Constructive criticism : staff was efficient but due to limited English skills found it difficult to communicate. I speak English & Cantonese, the staff speaks Mandarin and very little English. If hotel wants more Western English speaking clients, hire a concierge and 1 clerk who is fluent in English.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable rooms in excellent location
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff name 王欢 at front desk who is friendly, willing to help with, manager on duty also knows well for surrounding sightseeing information which save time for us to get sufficient local information.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Big and clean room, very close to site seen and food street, breakfast is great, lots of variety to choose from, taste is also good, less salt less sugar, receptionist Ivy at front desk is very helpful.
Cons: Shower head water too weak
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the reception desk went above and beyond helping us with our needs. Being from the States, we found it a bit difficult with getting transportation. The staff resolved these issues for us. This hotel is in a great location. It is very clean and comfortable. Book here if you are staying in Xi'an. Additional comment: If you are going to Xi'an to see the Terra Cotta Soldiers, plan to stay in Xi'an a day or two more. This is a great city with lots going on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Language is an issue
7.7 Good
Pros: Room was nice. Location was good- or can be bad because too close to Muslim street, a tourism place. You can't get real good food there. Traffic can be very bad all day long. beddings look clean.
Cons: Breakfast is not included. We paid 68/ person. Carpet was dirty. Stains all over.

Pros: location was central Room spacious Chinese restaraunt very good
Cons: coffee bar closed one day
6.3 Good
Pros: Nothing... except pleasant staff mostly non English speaking.
Cons: A budget 3 star hotel on grandeur scale with rooms needing a serious makeover. No option to have any other food besides Chinese dishes for lunch dinner or room service. Cafeteria self serve style substandard buffet breakfast. Hotel access by private car or taxi for pick or drop only will cost you CNY 8 unless you are willing to hackle with the security guard... booked for 4 nights, stayed only one night.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very spacious, the toiletries were ok, you could control the room temperature, the room book gave plenty of details, the staff helped us to arrange a driver to the terracotta warriors and get direct transportation to the train station, the breakfast was good -options for vegetarians, did not hear anything from other rooms.
Cons: There were no teaspoons for the tea and coffee at breakfast, the corridors were very dark.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location: a major bus stop right in front of the hotel, shops and restaurants next door. Interior is amazing. Breakfast: plenty of choices but the hot food was cold. On the last day we left 6am to catch an early flight, we asked if we can take away some breakfast (breakfast starts 7am), the kitchen staff packed up some muffins and slices for us, not the best, but better than being worried of not knowing if the restaurants in airport open early for breakfast.
Cons: Someone (a hotel guest) smoked in the corridor in front of our kids' room which made their room smell of cigarette. Our room didn't smell cigarette.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent, location was excellent and hotel was clean and warm. We enjoyed our stay !

Pros: Daily breakfast buffet was fantastic with lots of tasty choices. The central location was perfect for what we wanted to do in the city. The dinner buffet was also very good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked the hotel online and weren't sure what to expect on our first trip to Xi'an. The hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff were amazing, the room was amazing, we couldn't have hoped for anything more.
Cons: Our room was overly warm, though we didn't bother to ask if that could be fixed.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Great stay fantastic service well] located great food all around a great experience.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was very clean, looked brand new. Staff were helpful and attentive. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable, this would be an excellent long stay hotel.
Cons: Upon check in the hotel tired to change our reservations to single bed rooms, when we had requested king size beds when the rooms were booked nearly 3 months before. Not the hotels fault, but the city was very dirty and the smog was some of the worst I have seen in China.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: There were variety of foods in the breakfast including Western, Asian and Chinese. Taste was quite delicious and foods look freshly cooked. Especially various of fruits were very nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, responsive staff and comfortable environment.
Cons: The room can be made brighter.

Sofitel Xian On Renmin Square - Xi'an - Building
4
9.2 Excellent (3,088 reviews)
RM 480+
Overview Reviews
Sofitel Xian on Renmin Square is located right in the heart of the city wall, 45 minutes to Xian Xianyang International Airport and 10 minutes to Xian Railway Station. 178 full range of spacious and well-appointed rooms, suites and apartments equipped wit h ultra-modern conveniences, the exclusive Sofitel MyBed, a rainforest shower, WiFi and broadband Internet access all well placed amidst plush interiors.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is strategically located within the city walls (close to main attractions and shops). We got upgraded from a room to a suite, which we really appreciated. The staff were helpful when it came to booking taxis and communicating with the driver. The food provided for room service is delicious (had the aloo gobi, fries, carrot soup and spring rolls).
Cons: The breakfast spread is exactly the same everyday, would've been better to have slightly different variety. I found the sliding door for the bedroom and bathroom in my suite to be noisy (often gets stuck, which results in me having to push really hard). This made it really difficult to have my baby sleep in peace when I'm going in and out of the room. The bathroom sliding door blocked the drawers in the cupboard, making it impossible to access. Personally, I find the mattress too soft. I prefer a firmer mattress.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: very average restaurent service in the hôtel restaurent in the evening.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant/buffet/hot pot was good and the restaurant manager was friendly. Concierge was great and competent. Room was big and comfortable. (Though very old and not at all like Sofitel in other countries - however, for China outside major cities it is good) if I had to return to Xian I would stay again.
Cons: Xian is one of the most congested and polluted cities I have been to in China. The City Wall, Muslim Street etc are interesting but overshadowed by yellow skies and a coal burning furnace in the middle of the city! I guess if you want to see the TW you have to go but no need to linger in Xian.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel exceeded my expectations! The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was very spacious. Staff was also very helpful when asked about certain tourist spots.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spacious, great value, amazing staff. Joanna was very polite, helpful, efficient.

Pros: The helpful staff and my studio room has ample lightings.

Pros: Location is superb. Food quality is good for breakfast and it was comfortable staying at hotel room.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and location
6.0 Good
Pros: Front desk staff handling check-in was polite and efficient. However, concierge could pay more attention. There was nobody at the front door when I first arrived. I had to hold the door open and wheel the luggage to check-in. This is not in line with an international 5-star hotel service standards. Breakfast had a decent spread of western, Chinese and Japanese food. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. There was no stale cigarette smell in the room and hotel lobby which is sometimes common even in 5-star hotels in China. Location is great as the subway entrance is just right in front of the hotel. There are many other shopping malls just across the road. My special commendation goes to Mr Liu of Customer Service department. He was very patient and sincerely helped to arrange for the delivery to Shaanxi of my personal toiletries which I forgot and left behind. He followed up throughout from end to end to ensure that the stuff was delivered to me as soon as possible.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very good, the rooms were very very good and the breakfast could not be better.
Cons: The fact that I could not stay longer. Next time I would arrange to stay more days.

Cons: The breakfast is quit normal.
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Bathrooms a little dated but clean -didn’t bother us.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has the absolut best location in town - just in front of the big square and the south entrance of the city wall. At first I wanted to stay within the city walls, but this was MUCH BETTER. Our room has views of the wall and it was just perfect. Also, the room had the biggest bed I have seen in my life, very comfy.
Cons: Be aware that this hotel is getting a bit outdated in terms of the interiour. Staff in reception is not very good at english which made it difficult to ask for help and get recommendations for the city.

In the heart of Xi'an, Bell Tower Hotel Xian is within a 5-minute drive of Xi'an Bell Tower and Drum Tower. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out. 8.8 Excellent
Pros: superb location and good view. Staffs are nice.
Cons: -
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was just opposite the bell tower and from the reception area was expecting a nice room. Unfortunately we didn't get a room with a decent view, but it was clean. The staff were helpful and when we called with a couple of minor issues, there were no problems.
Cons: Smoking was allowed in most areas of the hotel which meant stinking hallways. They had the most disgusting breakfast room with filthy chairs and sticky tables, the only thing that saved it was the omelette made by the chef which was nice.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is very good.
Cons: The hotel is quite old and the toilet accessories are very dated as well. The hotel is very rigid regarding arrival timing and payments.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Central location and ease of access. The food in the chinese restaraunt was wonderful and could buy cappuccino from the cake shop in the hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. At the doorstep of the main city attractions. All within easy walking distance.
Cons: Hard pillows!
6.8 Good
Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: Bathroom. Small, needs updating and new caulk and grout.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent location to get tour to Terra Cotta Warriors. Also very close to Moslem quarter which is worth seeing, particularly at night. Staff speaks English. There is a travel agency on site to organize any tours you want.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The only (!) good thing to tell about the hotel is its location.
Cons: It's a shame that a hotel at this perfect location doesn't take care about their rooms. Whilst the entrance to the hotel looks still shiny the rooms are dark and completely broken. Breakfast I took only once - it is just miserable in a canteen style hall. I definitely recommend not to book this hotel, there are others not far away.
5.4 Okay
Pros: the place and rooms are run down, feels like a 2 star at best. location great the hotel needs serious facelift
Cons: beds, room, lights all were shabby some broken and nothing in goos condition
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location. It's perfect! A walking distance to a few famous tourists attractions.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location!
Cons: There is no refrigerator in the room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Fantastically comfortable bed and well appointed large rooms. Good WiFi almost high speed. The hot springs are a must. Only 15 minutes from the warrior site so very easy to be there early and avoid the crowds. Great spa too.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: comfortable bad and wonderful bath tub. helpful staffs.
Cons: few FLYS in the room and really hard to call taxi or didi here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is super luxury. Rooms were amazing. Extremely good value for money. We had the evening buffet which again was excellent. Can recommend highly. Great location for Terra-cotta warriors.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is kids friendly place with the huge kids playground and marry go round! The hot spring and spa are very clean and nice. The service is great. Every staff is very kind and friendly.
Cons: The carpet and bench of the bathroom have the old stains.
6.0 Good
Pros: Pros: - very close to huashan and the Terra-cotta army - Almost perfect - loved the space - lovely room, very spacious with a large balcony - the design of the hotel is picturesque to say the least, it was incredible - food was decent and enough choices - loved the hot spring, it was super fun
Cons: Cons: - 10:30pm drilling and 11pm hammering... that’s just crazy - (follow up) the staff did everything they could to compensate the mishap, and they made a lot of efforts. - still, communication could be done better so that those pounding noise doesn’t happen in the middle of the night. - seriouly though, everything else was perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We spent 4 nights in this hotel. The room was perfect: clean and a beautiful bathroom. The buffet was incredible every night and the staff very helpful and friendly. We tried the spa and the massages were professional and wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, modern design and facilities. Helpful staff, many speak English. Easy access to an excellent hot springs on site, which may cost extra (168 yuan/person/day) if not included in reservation package. Totally worth it to pay for it. Easy access by taxi to Terra Cotta warriors. Good value for the price paid, just be ready to pay for use of services, restaurants, etc throughout the hotel, which is typical of a western style resort/spa facility. All in-house services include charge of additional 16% in total in services fees.
Cons: The back of the room faced a large courtyard which was very nice, however, noise transmits very easily across the courtyard; our stay included a Friday night and there were some loud individuals drinking that we could hear late into the night. Also, we happened to have a stay preceding Halloween, which apparently included some big party that the hotel was throwing and having rehearsals for beforehand. This was a very loud affair, including blasting bass that disrupted both our massage as well as our time at the outdoor hot springs.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We love almost everything about this hotel. We live in Xi’an and do a little staycation every now and then and Angsana is our favorite. The location is good. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of town but it’s easy to get there if you want to explore Xi’an. The terra-cotta army is very close by and so is Huaqing and Lishan mountain. Room is big and comfortable, enough space for extra beds for the kids. Breakfast and diner buffet both are excellent. The cakes and pies are the best we ever had in China. There is a shopping center in walking distance if you want some other options for food. The hotel is very kids friendly. Great play room with toys, television and craft material. There is an indoor playground with ball pit as well but you need to pay extra. Swimming pool is especially great during summer months when outside pool is open. They have lots of floating devices and water guns available to play with. Officially you need to pay for using them I think but we never did. Staff is very friendly and do all they can to make your stay comfortable. If you are looking for a nice comfortable place outside of the city this is where you want to be!
Cons: There is a lot of cold air coming into the swimming pool which means it is freezing cold when you are wet from swimming. Our kids very often had blue lips because of the cold. It would be great if something could be done about that because other than this it’s a great pool (this problem of course is only in winter, during summer it’s comfortable). Spa is very expensive for Chinese standards). Maybe the quality is so good it’s worth it but we couldn’t afford trying out.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially Daniel from the reception!
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is very nice and comfortable, the staffs tried their best to communicate with us even thou foreign language in China is a big problem ! After all, I would say they are helpful.
Cons: Bad experience in the Korean restaurant - Food poison ! We had dinner around 9ish and felt bad afterwards ! The worse part was, we had arranged a tour to see the terra cotta warrior next morning before we left the same night, I actually vomited 5 times on site ! Think they have to be more careful on dealing with food !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Occupying a little island of its own, this Le Meridien is situated slightly away from the city center of Xi'an and its hustle bustle, therefore it would be preferable to have a personal car (my partner and I were fortunate to have our rented our own car during the trip). However, I would not imagine it would be very difficult to get a cab as I saw plenty of guests hop in and out of cabs. Upon check-in, the fantastic Leo who worked at the concierge helped us book into the king room with executive club lounge access. The room itself exceeded our expectations as it had an incredibly vast floor to ceiling panorama view of the river and its surroundings, which also lit up the entire room upon entry, and it was overall very spacious for just the two of us! The king bed was lusciously soft, which lent us very restful and restorative slumbers. The bathroom was gorgeous, complete with a bathtub overlooking the river. We spent much of our time at the hotel in the executive club lounge on the 30th floor which was simply fantastic. I would like to commend the ladies working at the executive club lounge because they were so friendly and accommodating and we even had a nice chat with one of them. The lounge has designated service times (tea time from 2-5pm, wine and light food from 5 onwards) serving actually delicious food, wine, alcohol, and various treats. We also used the lounge during our stay to catch up on reading while enjoying their delicious coffee. I would say the fitness center is one of the best I've used at any hotel here in China. I think it's even better than the Pudong and Jing'an Shangri-Las in Shanghai! The equipment was top-notch and the lighting was perfect, with again, floor to ceiling views of the outside of the hotel and cool towels stored in a fridge! The pool was also very enjoyable and we enjoyed using the sauna and steam room.
Cons: As a new hotel, there were many aspects that required improvement. The staff, while friendly and accommodating, seemed a little slow to react, perhaps due to their inexperience. We do have a few additional comments: 1) The cutlery used in the restaurant is extremely heavy on one end. It is beautiful cutlery but tends to fall off the plate or table easily because of the weight in the handle. 2) The hairdryer in the changing rooms is unplugged, and the search for a socket leads you to one next to a hand dryer on the wall diagonally opposite to the mirror about 4 meters away. This made hair drying somewhat inconvenient, and we would suggest a new socket close to the mirror be installed. 3) There was little available in terms of in-room minibar (though we did appreciate the Hoegaarden!). We would suggest more, healthy snacks such as bags of daily nuts also be made available.
8.3 Excellent

Pros: the bed was pretty comfortable and the location it was good .
Cons: they tried to get money for every little thing. they even charge left previous guests charger cables. the trip to the terracotta warriors is very very expensive. once they realised i could speak Chinese and i live in china they change the price of the trip and also the price of the transportation to the airport. the lockers are very safe but a little bit noisy when you open them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff members speak better English than those working at 5-star hotels in Beijing. The location is great for foodie tours. The room is basic but clean. A subway station is nearby and it is fun to walk between the subway station and the property while tasting wonderful street food.
Cons: You cannot take a taxi to get to the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After a little difficulty finding the place we got in and totally fell in love. It was so cosy and clean and centrally located. We had friends staying at other hostels at the same time and at the end of the day we always all ended up back here having drinks and chilling in the cosy lounge area. The staff were so nice and they got to know us pretty well. We even spent one night making dumplings which was really lovely as it gave us the opportunity to meet other people staying in the hostel.
Cons: Only issue was that we were on the 5th floor with no lift so we had to climb lots of flights of stairs with our bags although the staff did help us a lot with that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the entrance to the hostel. The staff were pleasant and well informed and the owner was there to help when he could. During my stay I was sick and was in bed all day. The lovely lady who cleaned the rooms brought me water, boiled the kettle for me and gave me porridge and bread. She also made it for me. The next day, the staff were all eating breakfast and she ushered me over to eat with them, making sure that I had my fill. Such a kind, friendly and beautiful soul. This made my experience feel like a family run business. Definitely would stay here again.
Cons: The bed was maybe just a little hard .... I was lucky enough to have a room all to myself so I took an extra quilt to sleep on, which did the job. I don't really think that it was a big deal really. The only other thing was that twice, my breakfast came with a 'cold' almost still frozen hash brown. I told the staff, who quickly made sure I had a 'hot' one.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Had a great 4 nights budget stay. Comfortable heated bed, great location right in Muslim Street where you can wander around every turn left or right enjoying the bustling streets. Less than 15min walk to sajinqiao line 1 subway station. Staffs were very helpful and accommodating and they speak english. PLUS they have a resident cat!
