Historic lodging in a great locationPros: The house is a period piece, and that is fun. We enjoyed the room access to the patio, the gas fireplace in our room, and the historic structure - tall ceilings, big windows, exposed brick.
Also, the tea&pastries and wine&appetizers were delicious! It's hard not to eat so much you find yourself wondering why you have that dinner reservation. The food is wonderful, and it is a very nice opportunity to chat with other guests. Cons: A couple of little things.
The background music - ok, I've been called a musical snob more than once. But string quartets, Bach or traditional holiday music would seem more inline with the genteel ambience than Alvan and the Chipmunks singing carols.
Twice during our lovely breakfast, someone from the kitchen yelled "order up". Really??
The WiFi is weak in the patio, and also in our downstairs room.
