Located in Rione XVIII Castro Pretorio, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Piazza della Repubblica and Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and Borghese Gallery are also within 1 mi (2 km).
Great location, not good for the summer! Pros: While this is an old hotel, it is very convenient for train travel as it is close to the train station. Our room was not ready and they stored our bags so we could go out and explore the city. They locked them (with bike locks) which was very comforting. The bathroom was nice and updated. The night desk clerk was very friendly and helpful! Cons: Because we were traveling with our adult daughter, we asked for two beds. I am not sure if it is the case for all requests for two beds, but the second bed was in a separate room joined with a door. The air conditioning in the main room was minimal (about 80 degrees in the room with the air on as low as it would go) and there was no air conditioning in the second room. They did bring a fan up for our daughter, but it was very stuffy in the room. It would have probably been fine had we not been there during a heat wave. The wifi did not work in our room...only in the lobby.
Pros: An inexpensive hotel close to Termini railway station. No frills, but clean, comfortable bed, good shower pressure and free wifi access in the lobby.
Weak wifi did extend to my room on the 3rd floor, but should not be relied on.
Excellent value for a one night stay prior to an early train.
Cons: It is more like a hostel as it has very uncomfortable bed and literally no facilities in the room.
Cheap but probably would have went elsewherePros: Location, big roomCons: Hot even with ac on. Elevators not working half the time. Would not stay here again.
