Own pool is simply what you really enjoy when having a romantic or family holiday. Wannabe perfect gastronomy. Food was eatable but nothing for gourmet.
The room 241 was just outstanding: a big surprise. All the buildings and all the little details everywhere were very pleasant. We enjoyed it very much. The streets to come to the hotel are lousy, it was a real adventure, but it's not the hotels fault
Very relaxing, the villa was beautiful and the view from it was lovely. We stayed for a week but grew bored towards the end, I think 5days is enough, there's not a lot to do except laze at the pool/beach and there's really limited food choices nearby.
A beautiful hotel in Thai style, with great views and surroundings! Both restaurants offered great food and friendly service. Very romantic night time dinner on the beach. The villas are both romantic and child friendly. Fantastic pool and beach. And privat speedboat to Koh Samui - what more can you ask for?
Staff was very friendly and food is great. There is a band singing at the main restaurnat at dinner time, it is very nice!! Road to the hotel is very rocky and so uncomfortable. The spa was average.
We love that place:-)
The Santhiya Resort is dreamy, magical place. Great for honeymooners! The spa treatments were way over priced.
location is very good although be prepared for 1 hour transfer in 4x4 from the landing Port - there is no roads in the island, only trails.... it rained one day and the pain on the umbrellas and the seats on the beach went on all towels and clothes...the entire terrace was brown with paint instead of white...
The location of the resort is fantastic with what feels like a private beach. Although the facilities were good, they still lacked in some of the additional services associated with the luxury suites. Simple things like an iron would have been useful.
Great comfort of rooms, great location (only five minutes walk to Haad Rin Beach), clean and amazing private beach, the best Spa service ever in Koh Phangan, The reception staff were very rude. maybe cuz it was the Full moon days and they were fed up with all the crowd, but that is no excuse to be rude & unhelpful. I have changed the booking from double to single, but they still forced me to buy the Full moon Party ticket for two people. at first they said we werent informed of the change, and then when I showed them the confirmation email, they said no you still have to pay for a second person. The Cocktail party was crap and the food & drinks were disgusting.
the hotel staff was friendly and i liked the room it was excellent it gave us a lot of privacy. no 24hours room service
Location. Room. We stayed in a pool villa which was excellant. The staff is friendly but if compared to Banyan Tree rersorts , they still have much to learn.... I have noted that booking.com mentioned below that I booked a Deluxe room while I booked the Pool Vila and that what we have got. The booking for the other members of the party was for deluxe rooms. The resort is located less than 5 minutes slow drive from the airport. As such , one should expect a free shuttle to and from the location. If you wish to use the hotel shuttle be ready to pay relatively high amount of money (when compared to other local transportation)..
A terrific luxury room in a spectacular hotel. Excellent pool. The best breakfast we have ever encountered. Sensational choice and all fresh. Many of the amenities like the gym and second pool were not ready at the time we stayed. The hotel land block is very steep and a challenge when returning at night. Although the room was stunning in design and spacious, we had booked a Deluxe Seaview room but it did not have a sea view. We had to stand on tip toe and lean over to catch a glimpse of any ocean. We were very disappointed.
Everything was perfect. The staff is just excellent there. My my fractured her toe in the gym (her mistake) and the staff did everything possible to make sure we all were taken care of and comfortable. This included changing her room to a more convenient location on the ground floor of a building as close as possible to the reception area, a buggy whenever we wanted to go out, etc etc. By far, the best hotel in Samui.
Very friendly staff, and beautifull hotel when the works are finished. It's a bit far from from the city and more then half of the hotel and the facilities are not finished yet. When finished it's a fantastic hotel!
A new, very beautiful resort and spa on a very picturesque beach. The rooms were gorgeous and very spacious, and the grounds were lovely. A great value for the money. The food was very expensive for Thailand, though it was good. The drinks were extremely expensive and good. The beach, though beautiful, is not swimmable and extremely rocky under the water -- I got cuts all over my feet even I was being very careful.
Relaxed by the pool and on the very private beach.
Beautiful villa, extremely friendly welcoming staff, delicious food, beautiful grounds. We did not see it at its best as we were unlucky to be there during terrible weather but the beach was a bit disappointing, somewhat rough sand and rocks washing in, but its har to know how much of this was due to the storms and also to the storms making it a bit rough and unusable.
We stayed in a 2 bed pool villa, accomodation and facilty of the roomk was very spacious and to a very good design standard. The outdoor bathroom of the second bathroom was a nice quirky touch. The main pool and beach was very nice although the typical sunbed wars was common due to a shortage of beds around beach and pool. Although listed as a 5 star hotel, the accomodation meets this star rating but the staff and facilty did not. Simple request could not be met, such as a side salad with a main course meal of lasagne. They heavily advertise the Red Snapper restaurant within the facilty but this is acutually off site by 20 mins. Drinks are very expensive within the hotel and by the pool when compared to Thailand hotel prices.
Perfect holiday with excellent island location, room and spa facilities complimented by the very friendly and helpful staff - it was a great holiday
The rooms were very nice and private, and the pool fantastic The Service was poor, and no shop on the premises.Breakfast no fresh juices.and shutllebus only goes once a day and you have to pay.Overall not 5 star standard.
I like the place and it is very comfortable No
Loved the main swimming pool and beach. Resort as a whole was very nice and the rooms were very spacious and lovely. The staff were very helpful and accomodating at all times compulsory 10% service charge + 7% tax. All published pricing ommitted this extra 17% so you had to calculate the extra charges. I feel that the food & drinks were over priced. Hotel also exploited the fact that it was isolated and charged 500baht for a car to take you 10 minutes away.
Very nice rooms, good location in a beautiful beach, quiet but also close to to the town, good spa at reasonable prices, good food. I would recomend to everybody. Swimingpool was a bit dirty
The hotel has its own nice beach. The photos looks like the pictures shown by booking. On the restaurant of the hotel you have many choices of both delicious tai and occidental food.It has its own spa and awesome massages. It's a little bit far away from the north of the island and you need scooter to move around the place near to the hotel. The places around the hotel don't look like as pretty as the north of the island.
The hotel's location was really excellent with a nice restaurant and private and beautiful beach. The food was excellent and reasonably priced too. The hammocks at our room and at the beach were unique. Hospitality lacked totally!!!.....No smiles and greetings at all!! No room service!!! Rooms were pretty ordinary and small for a 3 star!! Staff was the most unfriendliest kind than the rest of Thailand!! Spa was located right at the beach but the massage was not great!!
The best thing is the waterfront location on a reasonably quiet beach. The restaurant is also good - a little more expensive than places in Haad Rin, but that's to be expected from a hotel restaurant. This was my fourth time at sarikantang in five years, and every time the hotel looks a little worse. They are not maintaining the exterior surfaces of the buildings at all, and many of the bungalows just look dirty. Staff attention is also lacking. I reported that the electric kettle in my room was not working one morning, reminded them the next day, and when I checked out nothing had been done.
Nice pool area, beach okay, much nicer if you walk to the full moon party beach (5mins) to town, food good in restaurant rooms basic enough but comfortable
The location, walking distance from the centre of Had Rin and at the beach. The food and cocktails were good. On the website the hotel looked nice, but the resort was a bit worn out, it seemed that they did not do any maintenance on the rooms and garden. Everthing looked old and broken, sunbeds at the pool were dirty and the room was very small, tiles in shower dirty and no mosquito net on window. Lock of room was not working properly.
supurb hotel, location, design and above all: the staff and service!!! We also got a double upgrade. We booked a balcony but got a room with private pool, etc... The breakfast is excelllent, lots, but lots of choice. The location is ideal; not to far from the city and right next to the relatively quit beach no, can't find any minor points
Beautiful and quiet hotel. Located o nice beach on Samui. Good for family with small kids. Restaurant good and prices OK as well (of course not compared to a food court, but than that is nog where you eat), restaurants nearby, babybed goof, babychairs as well.
Fantastic hotel in a wonderful natural surrounding. Good and functional architecture. Excellent food and of course wonderful staff. I would live there if i could..
Concept and quality: villas with pools where most people spend their time since a lot of space on a small quite beach and 2 excellent pools, very nice beach facilities, a good quality restaurant. Location: only 10 min by taxi to Samui key locations: Chaweng, Bo-Phut, airport some people may not like that Sala Samui seem to be the only 5 star hotel on the beach shared with neighboring 3 and 2 star hotels. Would be fare to say that since Sala Samui is at the end of that beach this is not very distrubing
Very nice rooms (we stayed at a Sala Villa with private pool) and facilities (restaurant, swimming pools, gym). Restaurant and spa absolutely overpriced.
The peacefulness, size and location of the resort. Particularly liked the beach access and the view to the ocean from the pool/restaurant area. Bath products supplied were impossible to use as you couldn't get them out of the containers. This was a real pain as no one takes their own shampoo etc to use.
Amazing pool villa; quick and attentive service, especially as a resort hotel. Small varieties on TV; no English Premier League football coverage. A little aged mattres, which is soft.
Very good service. Staff friendly and polite; helpful. Service at restaurant could be slow
The villa was beautiful and the service and staff exceptional No
The Location is absolutely beautiful. We think its the best area on the island of Koh Samui. Hotel Staff were excellent, we will definately be back in the future.
The hotel and staff are about 3 months old. It is in the best location on the north coast and just past the Fisherman's Village which is within easy walking distance for shopping and a variety of restaurants. The north coast is breezy and threfore you have the wind to cool you when it is too hot. The hotel is superb, the staff incredible and they all come together to make you stay memorable. We look forward to returning again soon and highly recommend The Hansar for oouples who want to have a relaxing, quiet time in a beautiful setting. We don't feel this is a suitable place for families and children. Can't think of anything.
Everything! Nice hotel, amazing pool, beautiful view. I would highly recommend this hotel! The service is great and breakfast is pretty good as well. H Bistro is excellent!
Beautiful views, excellent staff and service
Friendly staff. Good food. Quiet & not too crowded. Close to Fisherman's village. Large room.
The staffs are friendly. Nothing.
fabulous infinity pool, huge breakfast buffet, beautifull seaview from the terrace, the chef's special menu in the restaurant was absolutely delicious, modern design with thai style materials gives a very warm athmosphere, very nice and relaxed staff, location close to fisherman's village
Service was excellent. There was nothing they could not do for us! Very relaxing and great location right next door to the Fisherman's Village but restful all the same. H Bistro is an undiscovered pearl with beautiful creative cuisine and stunning views of the ocean.
The service was outstanding.
The service and hospitality were warming and immaculate. Hotel restaurant outlets were relatively cheap compared to other 5* hotels plus they provide delicious daily fruits and snacks for every room. Rooms are very comfortable, and I esp loved the balcony bathtub. Absolutely would return again!!
The staff were amazing. They were most friendly and helpful. The design and quality of the resort is outstanding. The resort exceeded our expectations.
Excelent resort! Loveley beach, great breakfast and very nice rooms. You pay more for 2 singas in the hotell bar than you do for 2 large singas and lunch 50 meter down the beach, but still. Thai massase in the back of the hotell is 1900BHT, might be very good, but you can get an hour of massase at the beach for 300BHT. That said, we`ll be back. At a resort like this I`d expect a bit more english speaking personell! Pricings a bit confusing. Visited in januar and our room should be about 22000 BHT a night, we paid about 8000. Check around before booking!
Beautiful hotel and grounds, amazing rooms. Staff were very friendly, beach was idyllic.
beatiful rooms, amazing spa area
Since we liked our stay at Rasananda two years ago, we decided to book the same hotel again. We like the comfortable room, the friendly and courteous staff and the location at a beautiful beach and next to a little village with nice bars and restaurants. The food at the hotel itself is pricy compared to other restaurants around. Furthermore the Thai-Food at the hotel itself is rather westernized and therefore less authentic. The prices for the wines are high compared to Europe and the us.
The view, the friendly staff. The luxurious room, the private pool, the extremly helpfull staff, great breakfast and great in room dining. The inaccsessability via the only road to get there was a very unconditioned dirt road, which was dangerous to drive or ride a motorcycle on.
wonderful new hotel. room garden with private pool fantastic!! the food is not expectative for a five stars hotel
the best in the world
My friend and I had the best time. The beachfront view is beyond amazing. As was the staff, whom were so helpful, accommodating and friendly. the next time I visit Ko Phanang, I would hope I can stay at the Bay Resort. To walk up that steep hill to get to the main road can be dreadful, but you feel so accomplished when you make it to the top!
it was very good , the service and location great we needed to check out one day earlier due to our boy being sick and wanted to get him back to his doctors. we explained to staff and they still required one day payment, even though resort was not full and we had already stayed 6 days...this was not good or accomodating
Great location and the hotel is very nice The AC wasn't working properly - and it was hot in the room
Walking distance to beach, very convenient, spas pubs cafe shopping all within walking distance Service attitude (could have been better)
The ambience made for a relaxing and very pleasant stay, and the staff were extreemly helpful.
The location was perfect, you are so close to all the shops, restaurant and bars yet still on the beach front and is as quiet or as loud as you want it to be. The (second) room we were in was lovely with a massive comfy bed. The high-touches this hotel has to offer are some of the best I have ever seen. I emailed the resort to request an upgrade before we went but they didn't respond which I thought was quite bad. The first room we were put in was horrible and right next to all the construction work, to say the least I was very dissapointed, but we were moved to a lovely room the next day over looking the pool. Pay the extra and get a nice room it will make a big difference! Drinks and food are fairly expensive at this resort compared to what else is around, also the bars close at 6pm and 8pm which is a bit silly but there is plenty else around.
Bedrooms are well appointed, spacious and comfortable. I was upgraded from a deluxe bedroom to a superior bedroom, however there was noise during the day due to refurbishment. Not really a complaint as refurbishment was clearly stated on website. Hotel will go from good to excellent when work is completed.
On the beach location. Serenity of the gardens No
Great food, staff, facilities, landscaping, location. Couldn't have been happier here. Room could be a bit bigger, and didn't like only having one key.
Great location, even though right in centre of Chaweng, once in the resort you cannot hear street noise. Staff we're very friendly & helpful and we even got upgraded. Would stay there again!!
The garden (Square) pool is excellent, along with the location next to the beach. Lots of deck chairs. Could Improve their food quality compared to other hotels within the region.
I loved the location, nightlife, food, ambience, facilities and staff. Too many vendors on the beach...
-The staff are very friendly and always willing to help -food well priced for location and service. - well airconditioned rooms with plenty of bottled water -the bed are very hard -the breakfeast choice is very limited with breakfeast voucher. -public access to beach and bar passing though the middle of hotel and facilities made it very noisey especially late at night and early morning making it hard to sleep. -No clothes Iron available in rooms. - to many power blackouts rendering the rooms in darkness a backup generator would be good. - we would only recomend Ark Bar to younger travellers who want to party 24 hrs
I thought the breakfast was awesome except that the toast was never cooked properly it being done on one side only although the waitress attended to it promptly. If the room I had was classed as Superior then I would have liked to have viewed a 'Standard'.
Great location, nice staff, tasty breakfast Construction work on site didn't mind too much because we weren't in the room during the day and it finished at 6 in the evening.expensive restaurant sandwich, omlette, chips and 2 soft drinks cost us 15 euro.no free wi Fi
Very good location in Chaweng. Close to beach and night life. Modern rooms, clean and all necessary facilities there. Noisy people returning from the bars during the whole night. Hardly any view from rooms.
The only plus - nice rooms. If you like jets flying over your head night and day, dozens of drunk misfits screaming and puking all over the place, no privacy and no peace and quiet whatsoever, filthy little pool, indifferent staff and the dirtiest part of the beach - come to Ark Bar.
good location No one bothered to tell us there will be construction work at 8 a.m. in the morning. When we complained about it the manager was very rude and did not care, and even claimed they "upgraded us" upon arrivel even though we got exactly the room we had reserved, and of course nobody mentioned any upgrade when we checked in.
The near to the beach and the city chaweng beach road was very good. The breakfast in the hotel was abundant - you can choose 5 things - for examle scrambled egg, cornflakes with milk, toast with butter and jam, fruits, pancake mit syrup... At the beach you have enough deck chairs and sunshades. The room was small with new furnitures and clean. You get towels for the beach. Room cleaning every day was very good. the staff did not speak enough good english. next to our room every 3 nights it was very loud - a party groop was there and made party every morning after coming back from disco at 5 am. After we called the reception it was quiet! At check the staff didn't wish us a nice trip/flight and didn't say goodby. :-(
The beach bar is really excellent, especially on beach party night each Wednesday. I enjoyed my stay at the Ark Bar Beach Resort and I would return. The bathrooms and shower facilty are very basic, however this can be overlooked as the bed was very comfortable and even though the bar is in very close proximity to the rooms it is suffieciently quiet to get to sleep.
Being close to everything... especially the beach, restaurants and shopping! Prices were very good and staff were very friendly and helped you with anything you needed or asked for. We were very lucky to be upgraded to the junior suite which was amazing... very clean and modern! Music in the morning was a little intense especially after a big night, would much prefer laid back music. Sometimes after the cleaners would clean the room they forgot on a few occasions to replace toilet paper and fresh shower towels... but apart from that they did an amazing job! Also didn't like the layout of the bathroom.. would've preferred that the shower and toilet have a step and be separated
The comfort, the beach, the bar, the staff and the location
