Rooms away from elevators are quiet, ask for 5th floor or higher, really any view is fantastic but the preferred Church steeple view rooms are hard if not impossible to get. I arrived to the hotel at 10am and had to wait until half past 11 to get a room away from the loud elevator. No View of Church Spires but got room 706 and saw another church a few blocks away and some impressive mountain views.

Cons: Slipped a little on wet bathroom floor, grabbed for towel rack and the bar came off in my hand. Someone else had done the same slipping motion, pulled the towel rack off the wall and the Hotel Staff never fixed the towel rack, Housekeeping just keeps putting clean towels on the loose bar and its an accident waiting to happen, Could you imagine dropping that bar on your foot... Three out of four light bulbs in the room were burnt out, woman at front desk with long curly hair is not trying in any way to earn any customer service points. The rest of the Hotel Staff was excellent. Really slept well regardless of the pillows from hell. Oh and the towels are old and worn. And my sheets were torn and it looked like someone steam ironed a candy wrapper to fix the hole.

Pros: The staff were very kind and helpful. They provided quick and accurate answers to all of my questions about transportation and things to do in Guadalajara. The breakfast buffet is ample and well-priced. And, importantly, the shower here is one of the best I've every experienced in Mexico, with plenty of hot water! I love the neighborhood where this hotel is located; it's very near the Juarez metro station and several shops/restaurants I enjoy visiting when I'm in the city. Have happily stayed at this hotel before and will do so again.

Pros: The rooms were nice and clean, just as the photos show. We went to the restaurant for dinner, and that was really, really good with a wide variety of Mexican dishes. The breakfast buffet was good, too, with hot and cold items. The prices for both of those were great. Dinner for 20 people was 2429 pesos, or about $130; breakfast for 20 was 1829 pesos or $100. It wasn't far to walk to the cathedral area and lots of great sites. I didn't go out walking at night, but during the day it seemed to be a safe neighborhood. It was nice, too, that they had a computer down in the lobby that anyone could use.

Cons: The noise the first night due to a disco nearby.
7.0 Good
Pros: Clean. Helpul stuff. Good location.
Cons: The view feom the windowwas inside the hotel, facing other rooms. We never opened the curtains. Also the atmosphere was a bit sticky and smelly (I guess because there wasn't a nice open window to the outside). Breakfast was not very good.

Pros: The location.and the food around there
Cons: Lap side it mattresses.and Friday, Saturday, Sunday, all night loud music coming from the street into my room window.and between 6to 8 am.house keeping noises.they need to lay carpet down to avoid some of the noises.

It was nice, too, that they had a computer down in the lobby that anyone could use.
Cons: The staff was friendly at first, but seemed to grow less so as I had more requests/needs. We had a large group, though, so as the coordinator, it wasn't really a lot to ask for the number of people we had (I wasn't just being high maintenance). Part of the issue may have been that their English wasn't so good and my Spanish isn't so good. Whatever it was, it wasn't the best experience of service. Also, the street seemed noisy at night, but as we went to other towns, by comparison, it wasn't. Mexico is just kind of a noisy place.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location close to downtown Guadalajara and the underground parking for our car. Double rooms are very large with enough space to work on computers. You can open windows and the floors are tiled.
Cons: The first night we had a room with only one queen size bed which was too small for the two of us and the hotel was fully booked so they changed us to a larger room next day. Also, the first room faced the back where very loud disco music was heard until 6 a.m. (supposedly the disco has to close at 2.00 a.m.),

Pros: Good location downtown. The room was nicely rustic/ethnic decorated and the bathroom was a masterpiece. Colorful aesthetic and nice common area. Purified water was available in the common area. There was not air conditioning but with the ceiling fans available it was enough for a nice sleeping environment.
Cons: Luck of natural light. A refrigerator in the room would be good, given the high temperatures and the need for fresh water. Very limited available drinks at the reception. When asked for a tea there was not. Neither they were able to provide a cup of hot water/boiling water!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was very close to restaurants, the city center, and gay nightlife. Bed was comfortable and the rooms very clean. I think there were only 1-2 other guests while I was staying, so it was very quiet.
Cons: They make repeated mentions of their complimentary continental breakfast on their website, but that was never offered to me. Still a good deal for your money.
7.1 Good
Pros:
Cons: That they did not offer breakfast per the website offering. They put me in a room that did not have any breeze, was very hot and not comfortable. So I asked for a better room. Ended up costing quite a bit more than what should have been. Could have stayed at a hotel with AC for that price. Go ahead and book a normal brand of hotel with going to the city you will thank yourself.
6.3 Good
Pros: High ceilings Very unique Close to everything
Cons: My room was literally adjacent to reception. It was noisy with guests entering and leaving.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location to see most of guadalajara. Very good room.
Cons: Check in was very weird. They had a deposit on my creditcard which they wanted to cancel, and then do the whole payment new. This didnt work, their administration is a mess, and we ended up having to pay cash. took almost an hour to get this sorted. No breakfast possible..
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, beautiful layout, and quite large room accomodation for the price
Cons: Extremely hard murky green water that deposited sediment into the bathtub
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The decor and the comfortable bed and the front desk service.
Cons: The personnel, the room, the facility was all very nice but breakfast was not provided as per the room rate said it would be included. I will, however, stay there again if my travels bring me back to Guadalajara. Nice place.

Pros: Nothing good. Not recommended.
Cons: Horrible administration. It is been 1 month and still waiting for them to send me the correct invoice because they charged me more than 6.000 mxn and they invoiced the half cost. I've sent several emails and still no answer. Also they put me no show on booking.com even I stayed 4 days at the hotel. Horrible service. Not recommended.

Pros: Wonderful place, especially the man from reception, his name is Martin, nice and friendly person.
Cons: Just the music a little loud during the night.

Pros: The breakfast buffet is amazing. The warmest and friendly staff people than you can ever find!!! The room fulled cover my expectations.
Cons: The neighborhood is good for walk during the day, during the night not so recommendable, but still secure.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has everything you need for a city break and the TV even has Netflix and YouTube top marks for that. There's a supermarket opposite the hotel and a 5 min walk from Centro Historico. Staff were very helping to!
Cons: This is not a negative view of the hotel because I understand it of the area but Spanish is a must if you stay at the hotel. The other thing we didn't like is that we had to call reception to get hot water for the shower.

Pros: We loved the staff overall. Eddie was a fantastic bartender! Erica took care of our rooms and she was great!!! The front desk was good when it came to call our taxis.
Cons: Our rooms (we booked 2) were flooded with a rainstorm, I slipped and fell and hurt myself. My husband called the front desk to ask for ice since I couldn't move, and after 10 minutes he called again because no one come up to our room. My mom had to go down to the front desk herself and she ended up bringing up the ice herself. I am bruised and sore til this day. Breaks my heart because I grew up staying at this hotel and I am the one who insisted on staying here, and had fond memories. It was my husband's first time visiting and needless to say, we will not be returning in the future. Please fix the leaky ceilings in your suites. So no one else slips and falls.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Centrally located, colonial buiding - but the central location was really the big disadvantage because of intolerable noise.
Cons: We could not sleep because of noise coming from the main square and the street. At 4:40, they began to test extremely powerful loudspeakers on the main square, and three times alarms went off. While one cannot blame the hotel for that, the WINDOWS TO THE STREET ARE NOT ISOLATED AND EVERY SOUND ENTERS as if you are sleeping on the street. The windows don't close properly, and there is a part where there is no glass at all (just mosquito net). Really untolerable, and this was supposed to be a higher quality (and certainly more expensive) room!. Next morning, we wanted to cancel the second night, but they did not allow us to do so. A manager to speak to was not available . An alternative room in the inside was equally unacceptable, small rooom with no window at all! We moved to the nearby NH Hotel (very good!), but had to pay the second night at the Frances even though we could not use it. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

Pros: Loved the location. Beautiful building. Very helpful staff. Unusual, interesting room.
Cons: The bedspreads were a little worn and the furniture in the room was a little worn out too.

Pros: The hotel is perfectly located within the downtown historic area and the staff were very nice. They were willing to meet an exceed all our requests.
Cons: Room features were dated. There was an iron; however, no ironing board. There was a blow dryer; however, it did not function. Lastly, the running water we used for showering IS NOT potable, or usable, for brushing your teeth. I made the mistake of brushing my teeth with that water. The taste is worse than hose water. Even after attempting to run the water and let the pipes clear of any possible sediment, the taste was absolutely horrendous.

Pros: Excellent location for walking downtown Guadalajara. This is an older hotel, but there are some new rooms with an excellent view of the city. I speak fluent Spanish and had no issues anywhere in the hotel or walking around the city
Cons: There is construction for light rail in front of the hotel. This is not the fault of the hotel and, when the rail is completed, this will be an even better point to explore the city
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to downtown. Easy 10 minute walk.
Cons: Too much construction in area. When finished it will be great!
4.0 Okay

5.0 Okay
Pros: Not much
Cons: No hot water, TV remote didn't work, telephone didn't work, soap and shampoo in hard to open packets, a vending would be nice.
4.6 Okay
Pros:
Cons: The wc smells bad and the room started to smell bad. There is no wifi in the rooms and no breakfast.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The Hotel Location
Cons: No open windows, no chairs, no mirrors, no place to hang garments, not even hangers available. Too small room space in shower toilet
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All
Cons: The parking was apart and we had some problems because was closed at midnight and a car was parking in front of the entrance
4.2 Okay

Cons:
4.6 Okay
Pros: Good location in downtown Guadalajara
Cons: Pictures on website are nice, hotel is not. It is old and not up kept. IMPORTANT TO NOTE that this hotel does not have AC. It merely has fans in all rooms. In a June vacation that was not ideal.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect, and the price was great!
Cons: The housekeeper kept taking the barely used soap away, and giving us new. We finally hid the soaps from her. She also was confused about towels. Sometimes 2 towels, sometimes 3, and only once a floor towel for outside the shower. So, we hid a towel, to use as a floor towel, so we would not slip. We brought all the soaps home, to give to the hospital.
