Proximity of beach. Clean Pool and enough sun beds. Nice food and snacks. Most of all, it's a perfect family place. room is quiet smaller than I expected.
The location particularly, the beach is beautiful. The staff were all very friendly and there were plent of activities to participate in and entertainment in the evenings. The gym was not open.
We liked it being beside the beach, and short stroll to the bars, shops, and mini train stop. We found it sometimes difficult to find a vacant table at meal times, as it was so busy. No staff help was given - in fact some staff were quite unfriendly when approached about this. However this was not a major problem.
Proximity of beach. Clean pool of adequate size. Reasonable amount of sunbeds. Hotel tidy & well kept. Plenty of hotel bars with good selection of snacks & light meals. Not too far from main bar/shopping areas. Hotel food was ok but a bit unimaginative for British tourists. Needs a bit more variation. Pillows were either soft & lumpy or hard.
location just near small very nice beach.food is good & different at the evening, fruits. room and furniture are very simple and sometimes old and needs renovation.but i did not arrive to mallorka for spend time inside hotel room. adress listed in booking.com is Cala d'Or, but if you'll go by bus from Palma you need stop "Cala Ferrera".
Room in the 7th floor with sea view. Very good cleaning service. Second room I booked, 3rd floor, facing the pool, very noisy, not such a good cleaning service.
The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The room and public areas were very clean. All extras you had to pay for and they were not cheap, I was charged 10 Euros a night to park the car in the hotel car park.
I liked everything! A receptionist who meet us, a room, all staff in restaurant, the food. I felt more like in 3 stars hotel. I missed a hair dryer in a bath room..
Nice hotel and we were upgraded to an apartment. No complaints really other than the "local" alcoholic drinks at the bar were a bit pricey (Spar round the corner would sell you a whole bottle for the same price). No, had a lovely stay.
Very good for young families. Great entertainment at night, no need to leave the hotel. Not many british guests, quite dutch. kids club not great for british kids.
Apartment set up we had was good, good size and nice to have a decent size balcony As a couple recommended to this hotel by our travel agent, it was completely inappropriate and we left a couple of days into our booking. This is 100% family oriented, and our room was above the kids club stage which goes loudly until midnight each night. The breakfast was average to poor, and it was impossible to get a lounger at the pool unless you ran out early in the morning to reserve one, like everyone else was doing. The resort is actually outside of Cala D'or where all the main restaurants and shops are, and requires a taxi each time you want to go into town (last bus goes around 5pm). The area around the resort only has one tiny beach which we couldnt swim at due to the jellyfish. Would not recommend on this basis.
i was very surprised about the hotel. the architecture and buildings looks very nice, rooms are very comfortable and clean and bathroom was big enough and the gadgets and water pressure in the shower was excellent. hotel area was clean with lovely pools and sunbeds, you dont have to booked them with your towels, because there is plenty of them. there was lots of activities expecially for the kids. if you are looking for a great family holiday i would reccomend it to you. hotel is suitable for couples and groups. the only think i didnt like was salty water in the taps. we had to buy a drinking water in the shops....
Fantastic hotel, great for kids. Excellent pizzaria, only slight problem quite a german hotel and thus kids entertainment bit german orientated!
Nice staff in general, except at the reception desk when we arrived. Nice and friendly (multi langual) entertainment team. TV (with many international channels) is for free when the stay is booked through this website, even though the staff is not aware of this. Spacious appartment and terrace. Wide selection of supermarkets restaurants on walking distance from the hotel (tip: Indian food at "Indiana John's"). Generally, great value for money. Water from the tap tastes horrible (on the whole island), so bottles of water are necessary. Baby cot (although provided for free) was not baby-friendly according to modern standards. We were located far from the stage, but the sound of the entertainment was going on till about midnight. If the appartment would be close to the stage, this may be annoying for little children that are trying to sleep. Point of improvement: the Teflon frying pans need to be replaced. During our stay, the telephone system to receive and place calls from the room was not operational.
We liked the location, quiet resort, close to the beach and a nice shaded walk to the Marina. Hotel was excellent, accommodation was spacious and contemporary, facilities to suit everyone. Restaurant clean and modern and the food was superb. Would come again!!! People putting towels on sun loungers, even though they were not using them, so unless you got up early you never got a sun lounger. Safe deposit boxes in the accommodation should be free of charge.
Nice evening musicals, good athmosphere for families, discreet animation. A bit too german-oriented.
brilliant for the kids, but be prepared to get up early to beat the sunbed nightmare!!
very nice hotel, good food, friendly staff too many rude germans at the hotel
Great location overlooking a nice bay with public beach. Easy access to pools and ocean. Never hard to find a lounge chair. All staff were very pleasant. More of a relaxed atmosphere rather than party zone. Our flight left late, and we checked out at the normal time, but the hotel graciously gave us a room to shower in after our day at the beach, free of charge. The beds were very firm, but some people like that. The beachside snack/bar area closes at 6pm, which is too early. Don't understand the need for a guest to leave a cash deposit for a beach towel and key to safe in room. If you have left a credit card, this should be sufficient.
Varied and goog food at the breakfast and dinner buffets. Wonderful beach overlooking the cala.
Location, view from balcony, Attractive pedestrian resort centre and sheltered bays for sea swimming. Air conditioning in room was noisy. Internet connection was not the best.
Excellent food and location, with attentive staff. Tea and coffee making facilities in rooms would be helpful.
We stayed in an apartment and thought the setting was very good. The views from every apartment would have been acceptable. We particularly liked the gym, sauna and indoor pool. There were plenty of restraunts to choose from for all types of meals and entertainment.
This Hotel was very good value for money. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful hotel premises, also very clean and well-kept. The beach was really beautiful and not too crowded. Into town it's a 10 minute walk but there are also restaurants and shops right round the corner. Actually nothing - staff at reception was a bit chaotic though.
Clean, with a perfect child friendly position by the sea. Nice pool area, ok rooms. We were not informed about the welcome drink with the hotel manager. There were also other pieces of information that we had to ask about, that I think should have been told automatically. The supermaket which is a part of the hotel, gave the wrong change back on a 10 Euro note, and wouldn't believe us when we pointed this out. We happened to loose our camera (it probably fell out of the bag in the supermarket) but they said theu couldn't find it, something I don't believe.
Large hotel with every facility that you could wish for - yet fairly quiet and tranquil. Fabulous location on small cove. The towels could have been bigger!!
The proximity to the beach and town centre was fantastic. It was very peaceful at night time-no loud behaviour. The bathroom had a bath and loads of hot water! The only negative comment I have was that the beds were not very comfortable.
That it was peaceful and relaxing and having the added pleasure of a room overlooking the beach and sea was a bonus That the services (I think they were empting the septic tank just in front of the pool area on the road) were done extremely early in the morning. there was on a few occasions the smell of drains near the pool area
The cleanliness of the room and pool area. We asked for a sea view and got it so we enjoyed the balcony. The kitchen was very small so not good for preparing food and no electric kettle
The hotels location next to Cala Esmeralda bay is superb. Our poolside room was ideal and had great views. The standard of accommodation was high and the appartment had a good range of kitchen equipment. Room always had plenty of hot water for showers and a good water pressure. I liked the hotel a lot and if visiting Cala d'Or again would use this hotel. The only niggle is the off street parking and prevalent one way system surrounding the complex, there are plenty of parking spaces available but it is very busy after 17:00.
The hotel was spotless location being part of a large group gave access to morw things
Great pool and poolside bar/cafe. Quiet and perfect for relaxing. Pleasant 20 min walk into Cala D'or centre where there are some excellent restaurants and shops. Hotel was very clean and well kept. Great beach just 100m from hotel. Nothing
WiFi was not available as was stated in the information about the hotel when booking was made
Quiet, friendly hotel.
The pool was great, location was good, poor children entertainment it was not made clear that the indoor pool and gym was in the sister hotel
Breakfast. Proximity to restaurants, shops. Ease of parking.
Location near to main area but also directly on the beach. Staff very helpful. Option of later beach breakfast very handy [ up to 11.30 ]
the location of the hotel was excellent close to shops bars etc and lovely beach service in the bar at night was very poor and the early closing was poor for a hotel and no entertainment
The hotel was in a perfect location for the shops, bars and restaurants and was right on a small but lovely beach which I expect would get crowded in high season. Having moved rooms because of noise from the rooftop air conditioning unit, the replacement room was damp and the beds were very uncomfortable. Rooms would benefit from updating.
Quiet, relaxation, perfect location, heated pool, access to beach, proximity to shops and restaurants
Superb location next to a small beach and very close to town. Excellent breakfast with great choice of food. Really friendly and helpful staff. I had requested a room with a sea view however the room we got did not have a sea view. The hotel was happy to change our room to one with a sea view as soon as one was free.
The location is perfect, with views of a blue bay through pine trees. Guests can use the beach or poolside for sun-bathing. Staff were terrific, and it was an easy stroll into town. I wish the pool had been heated. (Visited in May) Elderly or disabled guests should be warned that there are steps and stairs.
Swimming pool . No evening dinner available except for full board and this was only available early evening. The location spoiled our holiday not the staff or the hotel,
Location facilities and food
stayed 12 times at cala dor. excellent hotel, staff always friendly.Evening meal could be better,we always eat out. plenty of lovely restaurants near by. Evening meal could be better.
Ideal Location Romm was to small and to few facilities eg No Iron, No Kettle
The location, staff very helpful, very clean rooms, pool area. All and all a very enjoyable experience. Stayed in 2003, 2004 & now 2009 and not disappointed. Will return again.Thank you!
you get what you pay for... reasonable price and close to everything. would stay again.
Size of room/appatment, good location for centre and beach, good value for money Food a little boring but fine for what we paid, little worn and could do with a bit of a make over.
great size rooms, air con. very clean. the beds were extemley uncomfortable, i have been home a week and still have a bad back. as does my boyfriend. pool isnt big enough for amount of people and an exteme lack of sunbeds.
The weather Very loud and persistant music. Breakfast was a shambles and always running out of glasses, cups, tea bags, many items of food. Dining room very short of staff. Had to make own beds on thursdays and Sundays. No porters. Use of room safe expensive, could buy one for the price I paid.
We stayed in an apartment away from the main pool and complex which suited us greatly, it was also a fantastic location for the beaches and the town was a few minutes walk away.
close to the beach and local restaurants and amenities pool too small and close to the pool it was very noisy in the evenings
I liked the relaxed atmosphere and the location. The bar food was really good.
Fowlers Hotel has an old world charm about it, we felt that we had been transported back in time to the 1920's, however they do have air conditioning in the bedrooms and wifi connection, Mrs Fowler (Pat) plays their grand piano every saturday evening which is most enjoyable. The position of the hotel is perfect, overlooking Cala D'or marina in a quiet lane, but only a short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants of Cala D'or. The staff, most of whom are family, are extremely attentive and friendly and make all of their guests feel special. The breakfasts are wonderful consisting of freshly prepared fruit, a selection of meats, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juice and jams/marmalade. Lisa, who prepares and serves breakfast makes the best tea and coffee. The bar which is run by Alex Fowler (their son) has a wonderful selection of local beers wines and spirits and Alex makes the best cocktails on the island my favourite was his "Blue Lagoon". We chose Fowlers Hotel because it is small and we were in need of some relaxation, we stayed for 2 weeks and didn't want to go home because Colin, Pat Alex and Lisa made us feel like old friends and looked after us so well. We will be back. We definately were very relaxed by the end of our holiday. Fowlers Hotel may only have 2 stars but it is not a 2 star hotel in our opinion it is far better than many of the 4 star hotels in the area.
Extremely well located, clean and staff were helpful. Food and drinks were poor.
Aaaa cant fault this hotel great place for familys and couples Nothing
We enjoyed the location, the staff were very helpful and met all our needs. The great choice and quality of food. The cleanliness and comfort of the hotel was good . Having previously stayed at the Corfu hotel 11yrs ago and had a great stay we were not sure if it would still live up to our expectations but it certainly did even though we stayed at Skorpios this time we would not hesitate book either again.
location was very good and the staff were excellent I have stayed in so called better hotels which were not as clean
It was located in a lovely picturesque cove with its own pools and beach which meant that we did not have to travel outdside of this complex for daytime activities During the day the poolside became very dirty, littered with empty sticky plastic cups and overturned icecream pots and tomato sauce and squashed hotdogs and chips which was very offputting and unhygenic. Also the evening entertainment was too loud to ignore from the Corfu hotelif you wanted to stay in your room instead
Absolutely perfect central location -nice atmosphere, nice room and nice balcon, good value for money I missed the staff. I did not see any except for the 2 minutes it took to give us the key, and when we arrived there was noone there. I had to call by phone for the staff to check in. I did not get information about the safety-box and afterwards the staff was gone.
The room was very clean and basic but very comfortable. We would definately stay there again. The only downside was the fact that there was no air conditioning and the room was extreemly hot at night.
very close to the beach, friendly and helpful staff, free internet connection, clean room.
ease of use, friendliness of staff, balcony and size of room no air conditioning and street noise, no tea/coffee making facility
Very central, many restaurants and shops close by, yet it is extremley peaceful at night time! 2 minute walk to the beach. The room was large and very clean. We had a front facing balcony which we kept the doors of open a little at night (And felt completely safe in doing so) to let some additional air in as it was so hot (August!). There is a fan on the ceiling which was a godsend. Staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful. All in all, I would highly recommend this and will not hesitate to go back.
The staff were absolutely brilliant very and helpful and polite. it is perfect
The hotel is in the center of Cala D'or, 5 minutes walking from 2 very nice beaches. The village is very nice, and in the evening there are a lot of restaurants and places where to have a drink. The bed was very unconfortable, and the room was near the entrance (so very noisy). The bathroom was very small, and not new. There is no private parking, and it's not always easy to find a free spot.
The Hostal is not far away from the beach, restaurants, shops and port. Lack of free parking places near the hotel. In close surrounding of the hotel are only paid parking places Mo-Fri 10.00am-20.00.
The location is very central with lots of restaurants nearby, the wonderful callas are within walking distance. The room was a very good size and it had air conditioning which was essential given the fact that it was the top floor and it was so hot! All in all I think it's good value for money. We were there for 2 days and only saw the recepcionist when we checked-in. This was a complicated process because we didn't have directions for the hostal and we couldn't find it. I kept calling the hostal but nobody answered (it was around 9 pm). Finally we were lucky and found the place on our own. However, once we got there there wasn't anyone at the reception so we had to call a number that was on the door and wait for someone. It would have been nice to know all these things in advance...
The room we had was simple but nice. They cleaned it every day. There was a fridge in the room so we could buy our drinks and breakfast in the supermarket nearby and take cold drinks with us every day. From the hostal is was a 5 minutes walk to the beach. Many shops, restaurants, car rental nearby. If you don't want to be in a very touristic place you should not go there. Our room was across a bar that opened at 12 and closed at 5 am. There was al lot of noise in the street the whole night so we had to buy earplugs to sleep. But after that we slept well ;-)
The grounds were very nice, the pool was in good shape. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are all inclusive you can get picnic bags for lunch if you go out on excursions. The room is a bit small but you are only in it to sleep so its not bad. They have safe boxes that are under cctv at the lobby that you can rent. We enjoyed the time we spent there. They have a kid play ground that has not been maintained, its an plant/ant infested sand box with a slides and swings. The food after 1 week repeats its self.
nothing i do not like the hotel and i do not recomended to anybody...
Very relaxing and great food A little confusing as what we were allowed to drink in the evening with our meal, as we did not have the "all-inclusive". We know alcohol wasn't included but not sure in relation to tea or coffee.
We enjoyed the location of the hotel, the landscaped pool area, the relaxed atmosphere and the helpful staff
very attentive staff, nice pool area, close to the beach, nice deal on car hire according to several signs reservation of sunbeds is not allowed at any time, however the hotel allowed it anyway
It central location bedroom was basic, particularly the bathroom, which was not up to four star standard
athough probably not four star nevertheless it was an excellent hotel.friendly and helpful staff, very clean hotel,in a good central location.
Friendly and helpfull staff, great location
Generally good value, nice pool and good location for the shops and beach. Food could be better, especially breakfast - need more loungers (also new pads) and umbrellas round pool for busy times. Maybe this hotel should be viewed as a good 3 star but not really a 4.
Good location, friendly people no
Hotel located in the town center almost in walking area, close to the sea... No air conditioning in our room. As it located in he certer it was noisy in the evening, and it's not easy to find a parking place nearby.
very cheap prices, the owner is a nice person. There was no water the first night we arrived after a very long flight, so that was really not convenient since no staff person was there anymore, and the morning after there was only cold water which is only ok if you enjoy cold showers. Besides, the walls are so thin you really have not to be too tacky on privacy, and the street is very noisy. We left 2 days earlier than we were supposed to, considering these facts, in order to move to a better place. Besides, Cala d'or is definitely a very particular place, it became a huge touristic complex filled mostly with germans and completely lost its authenticity.
We were absolutely satisfied. Room was clean and adequately-equipped for the price we paid. The towels were changed and the bets were made up every day. Excellent location with a lot of free parking space near the hotel. We recomend this hotel for everyone who are looking for cheap but very pleasant accomodation. The only minor negative thing was a noise from the street in the morning. Some hoower or what wakes me several days (not every). But on the other hand my girlfriend sleep tight all night.
Very nice and clean room There was not parking. And very strange reception work-time, there was closed two times and after we must to call an only that way we can have a ckeck-in
Location, the room was very nice too. Bugs in the bathroom.
Very nice hotel where things were working fine.
Very good value for money, very clean .
Friendly staff in reception and the lady that doubled up as breakfast cook then cleaner. No complaints whatsoever Wasnt a major issue for us, but it does overlook a busy street, noisy at times but not too much and not too late.
It is very good cost/benefit relation
