Only for family with kids. Room are old and not well equiped.
The good location and huge outdoor pool and lounge areas Internet connections were slow and prone to problems - especially with Hotmail.
The food was not good - too much salt in the food, too much sugar in all of the drinks, not much variation in the food from day to day, fish and meat were always over-cooked.
Super ! - what a surprise upon arrival
location was a bit far out of town/local people were very unfriendly and rude
I like the fact that the hotel had so much amenties, it was friendly safe and had a lovely relaxing atmosphere. the staff were very friendly and helpful none
Good food, especially the salads and fruit. Lovely terrace near the seaside for having coffee, drinks etc. In the spa a large area for relaxing, an okay sauna and a wide range of different massages and other services offered. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy at dinner time.
Good food Missing English speaking TV channel with news
Nothing really. Horrible buffet, nothing outstanding about the hotel or stay experience.
Good catering and fantastic range of facilities during off season, although I fear it would be less good on season. Some staff were a little inpolite, but not all, and nothing serious.
Hotel staff were patient and helpful. Location – a stone's throw from the beach and stumbling distance from the festival I was attending – was fantastic. Unfortunately mine was a corner room by the guttering, and on the second night condensation at the top of the roof falling to the bottom down the pipes meant that there was a constant, loud metallic dripping that kept me awake. I asked with staff but they seemed to have no solution. Also, walls were quite thin.
The location was excellent by the sea and with a lovely pool and sunbathing area. Very handy location for the garden festival. The staff were very rude, very unhelpful when we checked out and didn't help us with a late check out/ shower before our flight home. The quallity of the breakfast was very poor and to pay for fruit in addition to the £100 per night was a disgrace. Dated decor and poor quality food.
Pool. Baffled us as to how this was a four star hotel. It would be lucky to be a two star hotel in Ireland. Maybe the pool and location by the sea are good points but other than this we were appaled by hotel and we are not very fussy people. Our air conditioning worked the first day but but did not for rest of stay. Came back one night to find cockroaches running around our floor. Went down to reception to this young chap who shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do. He didn't even have spray to rid us of them. Twin beds in our room were extremely squeaky, everytime one of us turned in the bed made a very loud noise. We also requsted a double room. The walls were filthy also and chairs and tables on balcony loooked like they
great room great location and very quiet not a lot to do outside the hotel which is the centre of a sleepy seaside town, beware the officious gentleman who enforces a charge for the sauna despite there being no mention of a charge in english and he has all the charm of a charging bull
the food was very good with a good choice. Dissapointed on the first night that the bar was closed when we arrived. We couldnt get anything to eat or drink but the young man on reception did his best to apologise for this and he gave me a cup of tea
Great facilities, welcoming staff and great location for festivals at The Garden, Petrcane.. fun, but also relaxing if you want it to be. Suitable for all!
Outside Bar + Gym facilities Rooms exterior (balcon): no view on the sea because of the big walls (balcon structure) + the swimming pool was closed at 6pm + check out at 10am (non acceptable to enjoy a stay) + old decoration in all the hotel for a 4 star one.
Hotel needs refurbishment. Small swimming-pool for too many gests. Poor breakfast.
close to festival we were attending the price was far too expensive for the rooms that we got as they were very shabby, the food was bad
The comfort and cleanliness of my room. The housekeeper woke me up at 8:30 am...
It is good furnished leisure hotel. Amusment activity for childre is excelent. It includes full board, which serves many ttype of excelent food. It is still under construction in the resort area.
the staff and the food nothing
Good hotel for travelers with children.
Excellent vacation option for families with small children. Very nice and modern hotel with perfect food. Quite pricey though.
Comfort, style. Unfortunately we were 3 adults travelling without children. There were too many unruly, screaming children at the hotel. We would have loved it if there had been an adult only dining area or part of the hotel exclusive for adults.
Very good for 4star hotel, almost it could be 5star without any problems. Very clean hotel with pools, good food, children playgrounds.... We hadn't minibar prepared, even fridge is in the room, it was empty. Staff told me that I must order drink for minibar, and I think it is not good. But they can correct it without problems, I suggest them to do it.
Family room is very spacious and well furnished. The full boad meal is perfect to enjoy during stay. It is regred that I could not see all facilities due to under construction.
We were dreading a "kid night" on our recent 10 day vacation along Dalmation coast and thought that with water slides and pools the adult quality would suffer. We were very plesantly surprised. The quality was great and our entire family had a great time! I truly hope this new hotel can maintain the great shiny appearance and high food quality. Kudos! We would all go back in a flash...though I do not think it is a long holiday.
Pool was clean. Fair amount of activities. Combo of private seaside and pool. The buffet was pretty good. Rooms were adequate for two adults and two children (8 and 10). They only vacuum the floors and don't mop them, so the dirt and sand still remains. Also, in the room there was an electric mosquito killer to plug into the wall and tablets that looked like chewing gum. Since the tablets were just lying on a shelf in the room, my son thought they were gum and almost ate them. Not smart on management's part! Wine and mixed drinks without alcohol were expensive.
We liked the beautiful pool-area, with all the activities for children. We also liked the room very much and the spa-area where really nice. The staff where really helpful and service minded! The "fresh" fruits in the restaurant looked very tempting but they had been frosen so they did not taste that good.
Great location. Lovely rooms. Friendly staff. Maybe a little overpriced.
Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room, right in centre of Zadar. N/A
Ease of access to town center and it's attractions. Friendly staff. Late breakfast until 11.
As the only reasonable hotel in the old city area, the Bastion turned out to be an excellent choice for location, good breakfast buffet but didn't use the restaurant requested a non-smoking room but there was an ashtray in the room although there was no obvious smell of tobacco
Everything. service, location.
Excellent location in the old city. Very good bed and breakfast.
Location within old town Very difficult to find and high price
the location and comfort could have lower rates for summer. It's a business hotel well located in the old area of Zadar
comfortable, luxurious hotel, very clean, good location small bathroom
The overall quality of the hotel.
Excellent staff!!! they helped me with everything that i needed.... not a thing
Everything was nearly perfect. Wired internet connection did not work in our room.
Nicely decorated, comfortable rooms, helpful staff, outstanding food at breakfast (included) and dinner, good parking. No elevator.
Friendly, comfortable, excellent service and restaurant was an enjoyable experience.
It is a family owned boutique hotel with strong European f;air with large comfortable rooms and updated bathrooms. Upscale restaurant. Personal attention by hotel owners. All in all very enjoyable stay.
room location very bad
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and our room was better than I thought it would be. The pool facilities were great and it was right on the beach and the food was delicious.
Location and surrounding is very nice, close to the beach. Clean, cosy room. Service.
Nice hotel, super food, beautiful garden, nice pool. Beach not so beautiful because so many people at the beach; stuff a little bit slow sometimes.
Sunshine in the morning, pool within reach, great breakfast and dinner! Mosquitos, no lift, bed a little hard
Lovely setting, excellent quality of rooms, food ,service and kindness of staff and the gardens were wonderful. It was a wonderful experience ,highly recommended we will be back. Having to leave!
Very nice and relaxing spot for couples. Familys with young children have better resort nearby. Quiet and beautiful garden and poolarea. Easy to go to Zadar bt bus or taxi. It was no problem to chnge dinner to lunch on halfboard. The beds was to hard. Would like better service at the pool although this was no big deal.
The staff is very friendly, the pool area is very inviting for a relaxed afternoon. The buffet and the food are good. It is a little bit pricey, although worth the money.
The adriana is a very nice hotel, with good amenities, food and a lovely pool. In a tourist area of several other hotels. However, the nearby beach isn't one of the nicer ones in croatia and it is located quite a distance form the old town of zadar in the borik area not as shown on the map provided.
room is clean; staff is nice internet is slow but ridiculously expensive, at 100 kuna. i complained to staff and they said "yeah, i know". so i'm probably not the first one to complain but the hotel hasn't done anything about it. totally wasted my time. there should be instructions attached to the safe.
This hotel and its staff was incredible. We are from the U.S., and am used to staying at Hilton, JW Marriott and Kimpton hotels, and of all the places we stayed in Croatia, this was my favorite. You are right in the heart of it all, and no other hotel can offer this. If you open your windows at night, you'll hear the live music that plays most nights. There are only maybe 12 rooms, so book out far in advance. They also had the best breakfast...we always buy the breakfast option in our rates for all the hotels on our trip. Staff was exuberant and helpful, and made us feel welcome every time we left and came into the lobby. It's in the center of the city, so you have to park a few blocks away, then drag your luggage through the streets to the hotel. No cars allowed on the city streets.
Good food, great service, nice bed and great bathroom. Challenging parking situation, but not unusual for an old town hotel.
Plenty of room with nice view, peaceful surroundings, good breakfast, friendly hostess, good internet access. The strong smell of detergent in towels and sheets disturbed at first, but we found out that it is very common in Croatia: feels like their washing machines do not rinse the detergent out too much at all.
the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. the villa is directly at the beach. however, our room was at the back on the side of the street - for which reason the owner offered us a discount without us asking for it. the airconditioning did not work.
The shore was some 20 or so metres from my window. And the view of the sea (sunset!) and the isles was great. The landlady is extremely friendly, caring and helpful. Fast free internet is a big bonus. It's easy to get to the city centre by car or by bus. Minor issues: the bed squeaked a bit much, and there could be a bit more place to dry your towels in the bathroom, the floor could use a carpet (or wood panels).
close to the sea no
The airport/main bus terminal transfers provided were very helpful. I loved my room with a scenic view. Although it is not right in town, the bus stop for the bus that goes into the old town is within eyesight, and there is a grocery store that sells alcohol beverages right there. You can also walk along the seashore via walkway into town if you like to walk longer distances. Overall very convenient, and would stay there again. Also the breakfasts were great. The owner/operators were kind and helpful. Be aware that if you take the National Park Island tour/boat ride, which I highly recommend, the guy who "picks you up", actually walks with you to the harbour pick up point, so be prepared to walk a bit. Don't miss this excursion!
Location, our room looked right out over the water. It was a little far into the centre of zadar however I believe most places are outside of the city centre and the bus centre was within 20 metres of the villa. The Villa really is a villa and not a hotel however the house was nice and quite large. The rooms were simpole but large and comfortable and I would except so even for a family.
Beautiful appartment with a superb sea wiew. Friendly staff, appartment seviced every day. Very peaceful. Shops, bus stop are just a few metres away
We have stayed in several "villas" during our trip in Croatia. This one is inadequate for vacationers who wish to stay for several days. It is overpriced in comparison to other hotels of its expected standard
Large apartment, very clean and functional. personnel was very kind. The air conditioning was noisy and not powerful enough. Not cheap, also condidering that breakfast is not included.
Hotel staff (Triana) was very helpful and pleasent in everything we needed. The hotel is one bus from everywhere and in a good place in town. The room was very crowded, with low ceiling. There were lots of bugs, and cleaning service took place once in 3 days.
Hotel Kolovare is a nice hotel in an excellent location. We attended a Croatian-hosted NATO conference in the hotel and their facilities were excellent. The staff is very nice and very professional. A very nice stay and would certainly recommend it.
Close to freeway was the only good thing about this hotel. Breakfast was weenies. We woke up to no water at all and could not shower, use the sink or the toilet. The ratings on the internet are overrated. We couldn't wait to leave and should have continued in our trip to stay in Zagreb where there are More hotels and places to eat, The date on the water bottle in the hotel room was expired. The sink stopper was stuck down and we had to put our hands in dirty water to pry out the stopped with the hotel key. When we checked in there was one employee running everything, check in, bar, restaurant. The TV was about 20 yrs old.
Very nice and clean hotel. We actually got upgraded to a suite, so really nothing to complain. The breakfast buffet was well above par.
The Hotel staff was very friendly and professional. The meeting rooms, restaurant and lobby were very nice. The hotel is near the water and has some great views. The beds were fair. Probably average for European standards. The air conditioning didn't work too well. Fortunately the temperatures were moderate during my stay.
The only benefit to the hotel is its location. It is exactly half way between the old town and the bus/ train station. This is what we needed as we only had a half day to explore the town. The hotel is old and in need of a refresh. It is pretty dated in its deco and defnitely give the restaurant a pass if you can.
We enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and the cleanliness of the room and hotel.
It is a beautiful house with large rooms including also kitchen. There are common big balcony outside rooms to seat and to see panorama. Good breakfast. It is very hard to arrive in Villa Valentina: we have had to phone and then ask to a policeman to arrive there. After I have found that they have send me more information to find hotel.
Room was spacious and clean. The house is not very close to the old city. You have to walk for about 10 mins to get a bus. The bus ride is about 10-15 mins but it passes close to the old city. The air conditioning charge was €5 per room per night extra. The availability of air conditioning, and associated charges, should be advised in advance.
large room lovely view . breakfast not great. charged for air conditioning wanted same turned off all the time entered room to switch off. two small towels for five days.
Own balcony plus two other communal balconies, all with sea views. Very clean room, good mattresses, free kitchenette. Good breakfast - cheese, ham, egg, jam, nice bread. Helpful owners - they accept euros or kuna or both. Quiet location, only 5 mins to good restaurant, 10 to beach. Easy buses to town. Only used taxi once (from airport 200 kuna).
The staff friendliness and the villa itself is very nice. It is a bit far from the city centre however it wasnt a problem for us since we had a rental car. The staff showed us some nice places on the map that were worth a visit. Before actually arrivng at the hotel, Villa Valentina sent us several emails and sms' to confirm our booking and asking us whether we required transfer services- which is very positive and helpful.
The staff was verry nice. The entire vila has no centralized heated system. We have only air condition in the room and in the night it was very cold and they make a lot of noise. This is not a vila for accomodation in october.
The breakfast was good. We got our choice (as we arrived early) for a bigger room with 2 bedrooms. There was air conditioning/heating, which was great. The sheeting on the beds was for single beds, so there was always a division in the sheets in the middle of the bed. The housekeeping never actually made our beds. If we did not make it ourselves, they would remove the sheets and fold up a new set, leaving us to make up the beds again the next night. The directions for getting to Villa Valentina were terrible. When we arrived in Zadar, we found none of the landmarks we had been given. We then called her for directions/help. She told us to ask a local how to get to a certain restaurant from where we were at. When we did that (we had to stop and ask a few times), we found the restaurant 20 minutes drive away from where we started and just around the block from Villa Valentina. Not helpful.
Near the sea Need to take the bus to go to Zadar Center (20 minutes by Bus)
The hosts were particularly friendly and helpful.
Staff were helpfull Sme days room was not cleaned
I love the owner! I asked for fruit with my breakfast (in November) and he delivered apples, figs, and clementines from his own trees. Comfortable room. Only 20 minutes walk from the center of the city! The room was a bit small, but I didn't spend much time there.
A truly gentleman as owner, it is nice choice for given price (we paid € 60 /night). Family milieu in a nice residential area. However, remember you have to pay cash, they don’t take cards.
Very polite staff. Small room
The staff was very friendly and very welcoming. The breakfast was also very nice. The walls are a bit thin or perhaps we just had really loud neighbors. But in general it is in a quiet location.
The host was extremely helpful and friendly.
