Best Hotel in Strasbourg -
very friendly service, location in the center, valet parking, excellent breakfast buffet.
I made my booking on booking.com and received a conifrmation mail. Following day the hotel contacted me and stated that they could not get the money from my credit card and stated i need to react within 24 hrs. It was a difficult situation to manage the bad communication between the hotel and booking.com. Following my email to them, the hotel accepted to keep the booking without any payment till my arrival.
Central location. Very tastefully decorated hotel and the superior room was very comfortable. Gorgeous bed. The room's air conditioning in Strasbourg's hot and humid days was essential for those of us used to cooler climes. Breakfast was very nice and staff very pleasant and helpful. The noise of water through pipes from surrounding bathrooms did wake me up in the morning but wasn't too off-putting. A bath would have been nice.
very nice staff. location in the centeral price of breakfast
Poor service and cleaning
The on-site parking service. The hotel in general offered quality staying experience while close to centre. Poor room service during the night with half of the menu choice not able to be served.Too expensive minibar. Came back one day at 4pm and the room was not serviced.Enviromentally consious cards saying 'how to leave towels hanging if not for washing or how to leave a card on bed if you don't want your bed sheets changed in order to save the environment' implies significant savings on hotel operating costs. According to my own reasoning these savings should be passed on to guests through lower prices.
Comfortable layout of room and good location We had the suite at the back of the hotel with a view of a parking garage.
Our stay was perfect, from begginining to the end No bad comments at all.
This is a fine hotel in the center of a spectacular city. The staff were always cheerful and helpful with any needs I had. I would absolutely look to stay again next time I'm in Strasbourg.
The rooms were very elegant, and the hotel staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The location was also a plus.
Everybody was very nice and attentive. Great location, nice and clean room. I recommend this hotel.
They had renovated a very old building very carefully while including excellent modern facilities. It was hidden away within walking distance of the old town, it was quiet, a real treat, one of the best hotels we have stayed in. For the price the breakfast was rather limited, although they did have fresh juices and excellent coffee
The location was excellent (2 minutes walking and you are in the centre of town) as was the friendliness and quality of the staff. The hotel is an excellent blend of modern interior design in a historical building. The rooms were roomy and comfortable (in particular the beds). Quiet location.
We booked early and found a very good price for our room. The fairytale-like hotel is a recently restored 16th century Alsacian construction, complete with exposed wooden beams, contrasting very nicely with all of the modern amenities (very clean new bathrooms!) The staff was very welcoming, and most spoke French, English, and German. They recommended and reserved a great restaurant, and also reserved us a taxi with no problems. Wifi is pay-only, but there is a free to use computer, with printer, near the lobby. The bathtub/shower really needs some sort of curtain or glass partition to avoid spraying water everywhere, but one can make do.
The hotel was lovingly restored, it is in a beautiful old building but offers nonetheless all the latest standard. The staff in the hotel was friendly and helpful. Somehow, the athmosphere in the room was a bit sterile. The light in the bathroom was insufficient by far. The room was too small / simple given the price per night. Also, the breakfast at EUR 22,00 per person was way too basic. Half an hour before the end of breakfast, there were no more refills on eggs etc. There was too little personnel to clear tables in the slightly too small breakfast room, so plates and other dishes would be piling on the tables.
The hotel is in such a picturesque place, and traditional. A truly wonderful place to stay. Only room service available for evening meals. Would liked to have sat and ate downstairs socially, in such a beautiful hotel.
This is a full 10-grade hotel. If you like hotels with a charm - that`s the one in Strasbourg. The restored old inn building is just beautiful with a number of old beams kept around. The staff is remercably kind and helpful. With a booking.com rate the price - quality ratio is just amazing! The location is also great - in the vicinity of all the touristic/shopping attractions in the city! Be aware of the fact that by car the entrance of the hotel`s street seems closed - there is a low intercom box on the left-hand side and you have to push the button - the reception puts the hydraulic pillar down for you ;-)
the service, the room
Location is perfect Staffs are super friendly and helpful Comfy bed and nice room
Absolutely remarkable building, refined luxury, one of the best places I've ever stayed at, in a city distinctly lacking any other competitor. OK, the breakfast fruit juice was disappointing
Lovely room, complimentary bottle of wine, excellent breakfast Privacy was lacking due to windows of other rooms facing ours. Noise from people drinking in the courtyard.
Good value fo money. Pleasent staff. Hotel seems to be quite old, should be renewed. Breakfast very good. It was a nice stay.
Front staff is very kindness. High quality comfortable big room, quiet position, breakfast is very good and best service.
the positionand and cleaness of the room. The staff were frindly
The room The hotel is far from city center. (Maybe it is good for business - but not for holiday.
Confort of bed Noise
Great hotel with very helpful staff who assisted us with train travel connections. Hotel is conveniently located near the tram line for easy assess to the city. No tea making facities in the room
Everythingm but most especially the comfort and the money value for the stay.
Very clean and comfortable
There was a feeling of homeliness and staff were friendly and obliging. Room was very clean.
Good position It was impossible to take the stairs to our room when the lift was very busy as a large tour party had just arrived. We almost missed a vital appointment.
I have had accepted reconstructions acivities without any informations before. Please inform better for these activity.
The location of the hotel. Tram stop right outside the hotel and the a big shopping mall adjustant to it. The main city centre (Cathedral) is just a 10 min walk from the hotel. The carpets in the corridor need a change. Breakfast is expensive but there are enough better options right next to the hotel in the mall.
Easy walking distance from the train station but also on a tram line so able to get to the train station that way as well. Good sized room, free internet, separate bathroom and loo and a fridge all helped make it a great place to stay. Staff fluent in a number of languages. Being next to a shopping centre meant there were good breakfast and lunch options if you didn't want to pay the prices being asked in the hotel. Reception can be short-staffed at times which makes getting good service a bit difficult. Hotel restaurant prices a bit steep.
Everything was satisfactory Not at all
Excellent Hotel only 5 min walk from the centre. Free wifi in the rooms, parking in the public garage was only 9 Euro for 24 hrs ( with access directly to the hotel), reception and public areas have a great futuristic design, so does the bathroom.....Staff was very friendly, and helped us with recommendations for restaurants etc. Didn't try breakfast at the hotel as in the attached shopping mall ( excellent for shopaholics like me) you can find many bakeries. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone travelling to Strasbourg !
location and quietness of room; size of room; breakfast set up was not particularly good nor was service; parking was confusing and difficult at first;
Central location was great although a little hard to find by car with the one way streets,. No - it was great
Central location of the hotel. Helpful staff at reception desk. Quiet and comfortable room.
Very good service (attention to little children, reasonably priced room service) and friendly staff
good location, the hotel is within 20 minutes easy walk of the cathedral, which is the center of the tourist destination area. Comfortable and clean. We had to request a remote control for the AC at the front desk.
Very helpful staff. Clean. Very comfortable beds, nice room decoration, good quality materials used. Design in lobby and bar, as well as in the bathrooms. Great sauna and relaxation room. There are still parts of the hotel that could be modernised (stairs). Sometimes too much noise could be heard from other rooms. Parking seems expensive - 13 euro per day.
the positive and very welcoming reception I received, even though I arrived very late and left very early. I will definitely consider staying there again. it was all grand
Very good breakfast
good breakfast, nice staff, clean the room we were at - third floor - was noisy; i suppose it had to do with the heating system
Nice cosy room, recently refurbished and clean. Friendly staff.
Helpfulness of staff Limited Parking
Easy to reach from highway and a short walk away from city center.
Nice, quiet area but within walking distance of main attractions in Strasbourg France No on site restaurant
Location, friendly staff Can't think of anything!
Definitely not a 4 stars hotel.
Staff was very accomodating. Accomodations were acceptable. The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was excellent as it is 5-10 minutes walking distance from several attractions and shopping. I found my new romantic retreat. the room was too warm...hot. No restaurant
My friends and I stayed at the hotel on a girls weekend away. The staff were very courteous and helpful. it was in a great location, not too far from the old town centre and shopping areas and a very comfortable hotel. The value for money for a room to share was excellent, in our opinion.
It was clean and represented france with it's traditional interior decorations. This was something we had wanted of places we visited and not just any hotel. Price was a bit steep considering distance from center was still quite a walk. quiet surroundings and clean. The distance from htoel to center of Strasbourg, which was the Cathedrale
Friendlyness of staff, spacy room, Lobby was narrow
Good location. Staff very friendly. Nice room.
Very Comfortable Room This hotel is impossible to find with a car. a gps does not give accurate guidance and the hotel staff (knowing this fact) did not give adequate help. After arriving in the city I wasted over 2 hours getting my vehicle to the hotel entrance.
very friendly staff & a very nice room
the hotel was central and very warm and cosy price could have been better at least for breakfast
The staff were extraordinarily kind and helpful with always a smile. The gap between the two single beds, which were easily moved . other than that nothing else bad to report
Good location, very helpful staff, decent size room
location nothing really
The location in the centre of Strasbourg. Very hot in rooms, breakfastroom and corridors
Central position, ideal for walking to the main tourist attractions an restaurants. Close to the shops. Very nicely decorated in the main public areas and the staircase has beautiful glass motifs on each floor along with very attractive ceilings and furnishings on each lobby. The lounge is very nicely set out and we were impressed by the decor throughout. Nice touch is the loan of the hotel umbrellas by the main door if it's raining. Very difficult to locate as it is on a non- motorised traffic street and the satnav in our nearly new Volvo XC60 was totally useless once we reached the centre of the city. By luck we parked in the correct underground carpark accessed by the tram interchange at the Klber Square And a short walk to the hotel thereafter. The hotel will provide you with a discount ticket for the underground but we were not certain that it worked for us on leaving yesterday morning so remember to ask reception for the discount ticket. We understood that the hotel has its own carparking facility and when we asked about this we were told that it had to be booked at the same time as the room.
The location was very good to access famous places in Strasbroug easily. Alss the receptionists were speaking good English. It would be good if the check-in time is ealier. 4 pm seems to be a bit late.
Receptionist could have informed us of Son et Lumiere as we were only staying overnight
everything is perfect it is an excellent hotel nothing
the decor or the hotel is unique. I felt like I was in a small quaint city...not a big metropolitan area like DC.
A lovely spot and a classy modern hotel.
location, services night front office manager not particularly welcoming
The location, the installation and design of the lobbies and rooms (excl. bath-room) The Sauna is poorly installed , and not in line with the norms used in the rest of the hotel. The Sauna was overheated (110°c) and hotelpersonnel would not correct the temperature.
This is a fine hotel. The designers were more interested in design than in comfort or practicality. The bedlamps are charming but do not cast sufficient light for reading. The mirrors are ludicrous. One cannot see one's face or hair in a triangular mirror. As so often, the shower faces in the wrong direction, spraying out into the room.
the location is perfect, personel nice and surroundings great. -
The room was large and comfortable, with windows that opened and we had a toilet in a seperate room We were literally above water flowing under our room (Strassburg is known as the Venice of France). There was a computer set up downstairs to access the internet free. The breakfast was quite expensive for a meal when you don't actually feel like much to eat (22 Euros per person) so we ate at a cafe literally around the corner from the hotel for a fraction of the price. Wifi in the room was also expensive, so we didn't use our laptop, just the public computer downstairs.
great location and very pleasant staff bathroom and toilet needed better ventilation. no water provided
friendly staff, excellent room, good price no
The hotel was so conviently located in teh beautiful area of Petite France, amoung beautiful old buildings, flowers and the water. Plenty of local cafes and restaurants close by.
been upgraded on the first night the breakfast. Pay 15 € more for the same room on the second night, booked afterwards
Great location if arriving by train Breakfast not as good as it was on previous trips (no hot milk with coffee), Price seems to double when parliament is sitting.
Works in progress both inside and outside the hotel; obsolete, smelling bathroom; windows that don't close well; lamps that don't allow reading.
There was a beautiful bathroom in the suite (Privilege) and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Excellent location right in front of the railway station.
Convenience to train Did not like the restaurant we were sent to ( can't remember name but it was on the river and very Alsatian)
Breakfast included, comfortable bed and no noise due to extra door and double windows. The classic room is much smaller than the higher priced room and has a shower instead of a bath.
Very clean with a beautiful lobby. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and also spoke English. Hotel is close to Petit France and across the street from the train station. Very convenient. Breakfast is plentiful and good. The shower was too small without any shelving for personal items, i.e. shampoo, conditioner, razor, etc. Public parking is located down the street, although it is cheaper for hotel guests. I guess this is to be expected for a downtown hotel.
Checking in was quick and easy. Staff spoke good English. Hotel directly across from station, very handy as we were only staying one night. Big bathroom and great view from hotel room. Breakfast not included in price but there are plenty of cafes etc nearby or you can get some food at the station. I would stay in this hotel again if visiting Strasbourg. Breakfast not included in price but there are plenty of cafes etc nearby or you can get some food at the station.
I really appreciate le Grand Hotel for its location (just a few steps away from la Gare Centrale de Strasbourg) , its modern design and the clean room. Staffs are very kind ! There is not a business center where I can access to Internet !!! But Wifi works well in the room...
breakfast very small room
The room decor was kind of funky and unique. The location was central to the highlight spots of the city. One staff member (Sarah) was absolutely the rudest hotel employee I have ever experienced. Also, the breakfast was pretty pricey for what you got, and there was some street noise from a crowd during the night.
We were happy to meet Mrs.Melissa on the front desk. She was very friendly, helpfull to us during our stay.
nothing the room is too tighet and the breakfast is not value
The room was clean and comfortable Found it difficult to find as there are two other Mercure Hotels in the town.
Personally, for me the most important was the distance to the city center. Location of this hotel was the major advantage.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
Comfortable room close to the town cenre
This was a great, modern hotel in exactly the location i wanted. all the comforts i was looking for, right in the center of town but tucked away from the swarming tourists by the cathedral and petite france. nothing. i loved this hotel!
I liked the gentleness of the staff, the location, the comfort and clenliness of rooms. I would strongly recommend this hotel to everyone who plans to visit that beautiful city.
Location and comfort of room The temperature in the room was very high although I had switched the heating system off
The location was great Difficult to find and parking was a problem
the hotel localisation, price, comfort, value for money
Location off the beaten path, yet turned out well. (evening) staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were extremely overpriced for the size and location. No breakfast either in the price.
We liked the fact that we were able to park our car in a safe garage for a small extra cost Nothing
the promotion- the special price by e-mail booking It seems to me unusual, that the hotel is locked about 10 p.m.
The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel for a tour of the city is perfect. This was the 2nd time we stay at this hotel because the first time we liked it a lot. In either case, we had 2 rooms and paid almost the same each time. The first time we had really nice big rooms that were modern and very clean and the front desk staff were very nice. We had a minor discontent with the breakfast staff though - they seemed to be overwhelmed! This time, the rooms were smaller, older and not as clean; especially the bathroom was very old and the toilet was the smallest I have ever seen at a hotel with pipes going through it. This time again, the breakfast staff was overwhelmed and things were missing for a while such as coffee/tea cups and some foods which were replenished, eventually.
The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. She provided information on what was near the hotel and was extremely nice. The shower area needs updating. It looked dirty and is old.
Great location. Double windows that helped to reduce the street noise. Really nice staff that helped for reserving tables from restaurants. There might be some improvements in breakfeast...
Good location with excellent service from the staff day and night. Defintely stay there again.
AMAZING LOCATION Almost exactly in front of the cathedral. The room was nicely decorated, and very clean. I think it is a True three star as opposed to a three star that is really a two as you often find in Europe. Very difficult to find if you're driving! Much of the area surrounding the hotel is pedestrian only, and your GPS will get very "confused" because it can not guide you anywhere near the hotel itself. If you drive, look for a paid underground parkin lot.. (Parking Gutenberg at Gutenberg plaz is the closest to the hotel)
Extremely helpful desk (perfect English), nice restaurant/cafe, extremely convenient location to the sights, nice rooms, even A/C. Just be aware that you'll have some walking to do from the train station, but you can cut 3/4 of the walk by taking the tram, or you can cab it to within a block.
Good location for tourists and business travelers; close to the Cathedral, restaurants and public transportation. The breakfast (13 euros) was too expensive,
situation close to the center poor breakfast
Perfect location and all hotel features were good or better. With tram a very short walk away, you could go anywhere with ease. Rooms have double windows for sound control.
Excellent location, adjacent to the cathedral and convenient for city centre facilities. Staff friendly and very helpful. Rooms decorated and furnished in 'traditional' style are relatively spacious and very clean. Bathroom spotless and well serviced and maintained.
Good Service and Location No Coffee Making Facilities
Small but interestingly decorated bedroom. Fun lobby. Lovely front desk and restaurant staff. Shower flooded the bathroom floor and, if I had not thrown all the towels down, it would have flooded the bedroom as well. They were surely aware of this as the shower head was positioned facing the wall. Once it was turned to focus the water downward, the flooding began. Room 308.
Close to city center...air conditioning Air conditioner dripped constantly, no maid service on our rooms the day we stayed there.
Small, quite and comfortable hotel in nice location Lack of bar/food facilities other than breakfast
great beakfest :-), cleanliness of our room in bathroom there was no ventilator (suction-fan)... and it was very difficult to park a car in garage (narow way)
Good city centre hotel with well-designed rooms and excellent breakfast.
Central location, nicely designed rooms. We had 2 rooms on the second floor. These rooms are unsuitable for light sleepers because they are too noisy. Part of the noise comes from the tram service passing just outside the hotel. Much worse is the noise coming from the breakfast room which is prepared between 5am and 6am - the parquet floor and aluminum tables and chairs (and the person preparing the room) make an enourmous amount of noise making any sleep past 6am impossible.
The friendliness of the staff; the efficient use of space, parking lot, Wifi, good location, quietness
Good staff, easy for the station
Great character, friendly staff, comfortable room Need shower curtain!!!
Cleanliness of our, Comfort, Value for money, Location
The rooms have an internal corridor - so the actual bedroom is away from the door and the main corridor of the floor - this is good because you don't hear any noise from the lift (my room was directly opposite it) - nor other hotel guests. Location was also quite good. The toilet and bathroom were in separate 'rooms' which I found a bit strange given that there wasn't even a handbasin in the toilet 'room' The water pressure on the shower was awful if you wanted a remotely warm shower. When the water was cold - the pressure was great - as soon as you turned it to warm/hot - it trickled out. This is not at all helpful if you are washing long hair!
Very pleasant staff. Good car parking arrangements. Within easy walking distance of the city centre and main attractions.
All staff was very good attitude.
location near to the city center and the railway station the two door entrance to the room and the carpet
Good reception, convenient location. Clean and well equipped rooms. Mind staying at the 1st floor as the constant sound of I guess the generator? in the garden may irritate you after a while.
Close to Strasbourg old city. Rooms are clean but old fashioned. Breakfast room was hot as a sauna......crazy!
Good location, kind and friendly staff, good room (roomsa re in renovation process, so some may still be old ones) The room was in corridor repair area with chemical smell, breakfast is not as good as cost it, hotel parking area is small and difficult to park.
5 minutes walk to the centre of Straatsburg
The folks here are responsive and helpful. The hotel itself is within walking distance of all the sights of the old town. Nice modern rooms, great breakfast in a clean, well-kept environment. Parking in their garage was made much easier by the gentleman who knows how to handle the tight spaces. Cindy's (at the desk) recommendation for dinner was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again.
The room was totally renovated and very clean! Very spacious and comfortable! In addition, I switched our room dates a couple times and the staff was very, very nice about it! The maid tried to open our door at 8:00 a.m. and then let it slam shut. Also, another hotel worker was slamming the doors in the morning when he was looking in a closet that was directly across from our room. That woke me up and was really annoying. The maids should know before hand which rooms are taken and which need to be cleaned and are unattended without slamming doors! Breakfast not included and the hotel is not exactly in the center, more like 3 or 4 blocks. Also, the bathroom had no shower curtain, hence the water everywhere and the door was wierd. It was a frosted glass sliding door, which was nice but it generated a lot of light (which was not good since we had our kids and it lit up almost the whole room when in use).
I like the different type of cheese present same breakfeast for 4 days. Pork sausages only ( muslim doesn't consume pork would suggest chicken sausages which can be consumed by everyone) more hot plats in breakfeast
its central location, garage parking - very good for an over night stay and an opportunity to look around the city
Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good location convenient parking, but you have to book in advance
Excellent location. Interesting view onto the main street. Calm atmosphere. Pleasant breakfast facilities. Lovely staircase. Helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable room. There was a wine tasting session in the lounge one evening when some of the tables and armchairs were reserved. This meant there were not enough armchairs for guests who were looking forward to a comfortable seat rather than a bar stool. I think that the unused mezzanine area in the bar would have been an ideal place for the wine tasting.
Exquisite, that's where I'm gonna stay when in Strasbourg.
Wonderful staff and clean rooms. Easily accessible from the train station and also to the major squares. Helpful reception staff were able to direct us to interesting spots and tasty bistros.
I was happy with everything. I was happy with everything.
location to old center of town, able to walk to all tourist sites room at night was too bright, needed darkening shades to keep street lights out
Location was outstanding and the room was large, comfortable and reasonably priced. We didn't endup having it but 14 euros for breakfast seemed a bit much!
We enjoyed the tastefully renovated rooms (incl. wifi), the friendly staff and the convenient location (close to old town/shopping area & station). n.a.
every thing was perfect. but breakfast was'nt including price. But it should be.
very noisy ventilators of airconditioning outside of building
cosiness, silence in corridors and stairways too much smoke in the breakfast room, no drinks in the fridge
personnel at reception extremely courteous and helpful; room was quite adequate and a good value
great staff very difficult to reach by car
The location is perfect to visit Strasbourg city center. It is too expensive for the quality that we got. The entrance to the hotel was dusty. The room is spacious but it is old. I prefer the firm mattress, so the soft mattress of the hotel did not suit me. There was a tile in the bathroom which did not fit well.
Rooms were very clean, hotel breakfast was very good and value for the money. Location was also good, very close to the petit france. Parking was very difficult, very small space. Bathroom can use some renovation.
Staff were very friendly
Location, very central Very nice staff Tiny room ( standard) Breakfast almost empty after 09.30
Room were in a quite good condition. Good noise insulation. Air conditioner. good ratio price/quality.parking area closed to the hotel. parking fee should be reviewed and lowered.
It was a very charming hotel in a nice location It was super hard to find, Strasbourg is very confusing and the entrance is on a pedestrian area.
Very convenient to the old city attractions. The room was very small.
Good location, good price and a nice hotel with good and likable hotel staff. The breakfast could be more exciting.
The room was to cold at night, so I slept very bad.
Everything was so good, especially the room was very wonderful.
The room booked was on the ground floor with 4 big windows on the street.. I asked for an another room and had to pay an higher price for a room which was on the 3rd floor, but did not appaer to have a higher standard than the ground floor one
Loacation in the city Nothing
The hotel has a very good location. When I came back to a hotel at 3:00, cleaning of the room had not finished yet.
The bed!!! I could actually sleep, and that is major bonus. The hotel was quiet and somehow dignified Getting connected to internet was a serious problem that was solved only the very last night.
Good value for money in excellent location in centre of Strasbourg. Helpful and friendly staff. Free internet access. Limited choice at breakfast. No facility for toasting bread.
everything, staff was nice, helpful, room very good for the price and location, breakfast was great
I really like the bedroom, spacious and cosy at the same time and well equiped. The hotel is very central, and this was really the best for me. i'd appreciate more english breakfast than continental breakfast.
Great location, good value, friendly Air con broken
Really a central position, 100mt from the cathedral with an underground parking 50mt away.Nice and convenient Ours was a smoker room, and smelled like that, while we would have preferred a non-smoker
Location location location . Awesome location in historic district. Just a couple minutes walk to Cathedral. Clean hotel lobby and room very clean Bathroom very modern and my 10 yr old daughter loved the rain showerhead Has a new renovation feel Staff very nice and helpful as a tour guide ask for the tour map Room size not an issue no its not huge but it wasn't tiny either Ask for parking lot location . Sundays you can park on streets for free overnight if you can find a space that saves $30 Make sure you walk city at sunset it's amazing. I heard the boatride at that time is breathtaking My daughter thought elevator door shut too slow. Had to put something!
Just perfect! The hotel is located in the very historical centre of the city, two minutes walk from the car park and close to the main tourist attractions. Especially welcoming staff, large modern well-equipped bedroom, spacious bathroom and copious breakfast. Great value for money.
The room was clean, compact, well equipped and comfortable and centrally located
Everything was new, rooms recently renovated, the location is extremely comfortable They failed to produce a proper invoice (said that neither the headed paper nor the stamp of the hotel had not arrived yet, which made me suspect they were actually not authorised to open yet) and my complaints (as no payment office will accept a peace of paper with no credentials) were answered with a "I know this is not a proper invoice...," instead of offering to send one later by mail or e-mai
The location of the hotel was very good.
Very convenient to have a small kitchen which was very well equipped. Location was very good for exploring Strasbourg on foot. Design was modern but very comfortable. Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful, from reception to housekeeping. Electrical outlets are only operational when the key card is inserted, so you cannot charge small appliances (cell phone, laptop, camera batteries) when you are not in the room. GPS information on how to find hotel is not accurate (on a pedestrian street), so pre-arrival information on where to and how to reach the hotel and park would have been helpful.
Very nice and friendly reception staff. Strange smell in the corridor; too small room for such price.
The room cleaning policy is strange.
I enjoyed starting a day with refreshing breakfast of the hotel with very well organized and clean kitchen. Personel was very kind and friendly.
Excellent location for exploring the old town. New apartment with nice kitchen. Markets on Place Kleber a few days of the week for fresh food and vegetables No hangers or hooks/ shelves for storage.
Hotel was quite good. Also the amount of extras in the room were more than satisfactory (cooker, iron, just useful stuff like that which for this price I hadn't expected to find in my room). Design of the room was also according to standards, maybe even a bit above. The person at the reception wasn't much helpful. Felt like she was just sitting there to earn her money and not much more. Her English was rather poor as well.
Best value for money I have found in years of travelling. Everything worked perfectly and with no hassle. Helpful and polite staff. Right downtown but our second floor room out to the yard was still really quiet. No complaints whatsoever.
