Beautiful property in historic quarter.
beautiful setting, nicely decorated
No tea or coffee making in room. No room service before 8 am and breakfast only starts at 8. Would have been nice to have a cup of tea before starting camino.
Lunch, food, layout of room. Staff very nice.
Bed, pillows very hard. Noise from mechanical pumps going all night. Very difficult to sleep. We asked reception to stop the noise, however it was not possible. We were offered another room at 5am, we declined. On checking out there was no manager available. We were offered free breakfast, but the breakfast was lovely so I wanted to pay for it. I was asked to write to the manager, which I did there and then, such a waste of time as 5 days later, no response. Lovely location, food, wine, garden and property. When you're walking the Camino you need to be able to sleep. 10 hotels and this was the only one where sleep was impossible.
The location was great, right at the edge of the old town and close to the main roads.
The parador is in need of better upkeep and maintenance. Our room was very small and some of the furniture worn. We asked about having breakfast on the terrace as we were wondering why all the tables there were already laid out for lunch. We were told by the front desk to discuss with the restaurant staff if this was possible... Very unprofessionally. We were then told that this was not possible so decided not to have breakfast at the parador but to go around the corner where we could sit outside. There were no coffee making facilities in the room and the cafetaria, where coffee could be had was not open until after breakfast. The parador seems to survive on old, faded glory but has not gone with the times. Parking was only available in the parking garage further down the road with no form of compensation. Some of the staff were helpful, others could be more friendly.
