Very kid friendly. Lots of activities for everyone. The water park was closed for the 1st 5 days of our vacation so we spent most time a the tortuga pool. Our 1st room was way too cramped with the bunk beds just at arms reach and ants everywhere. The next morning I upgraded us to a family suite and it was well worth the cost. The staff were very friendly. We preferred the Italian restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The main buffet was huge but were never got noticed and out of the 6 times we went to the big buffet not one staff member asked us for drink orders unlike the Italian restaurant.
The mosquitos!!! Despite bug spray myself and the kids got eaten ALIVE! The check in process was painful. It took forever and we just got off the plane from a 7 hour trip and then have to go through time share blah blah on top on NO AC in the lobby. We just wanted to get to our room and change. The distance between the buffet's and the rooms was quite long for 2 small kids (we visited the sister resort and they had a shuttle going ALL the time from the lobby to the beach-that would have been nice) The food was not the best for some reason the sister resorts food had much more options and flavor
This was the first time in this resort and for sure not the last. It is a concept that goes to your heart. It is difficult cu express you have to experience. In a few words is that is for nature and wildlife lovers with kids 0-14 and high expectations from a five stars hotel.
Everything from the room, jungle, all the animals around, food is great, pool and so on!! Entertainment team are great! The night Show’s are perfect.
The nice park, the SPA, the choice of restaurants. Good entertainments. Jacuzzi in bedroom.
The distance from the city and the prohibitive taxi cost.
The resort has more to offer than others especially for kids, e.g. Aquapark, activities with and outside the kids club, animals on the property (coatis, racoons, monkeys, cats, turtles, etc, plus farm animals like pigs, donkeys, hens). Food/drinks were abundant, and the quality was generally good. We preferred the many choices of the international buffet (and no waiting time compared to the a la carte restaurants). Nature is beautiful, most of the property is set in a mangrove forest, they have several cenotes (including one with a waterfall), the Jade river - where we had some Indiana Jones type of experience. The beach is beautiful though not very large, the water has stones and sea urchins (which they probably tried to clean out, but little ones keep growing - so shoes are a must). Entertainment is ok, if a bit too loud, so if you need some peace, stay away from the central areas.
Loved the location, the wild life is great! Beach was lovely, but a bit rocky. There is lots to do on the resort which was nice and the swing bar is cute!
I communicated with the property through booking.com asking for a late check out on our final day, due to an evening flight out of Cancun. I was replied to within a couple of days saying my request was met. That being said, once I got to the property I was told they didn’t create this reply and they were not going to honour it. I had to provide them with the e-mail and it took 30 minutes for them to grant the request that I had already been allowed. It was frustrating to have had this pre arranged and organized our shuttle t the airport accordingly. Be careful communicating through booking.com !!! The food is sub par in some of the restaurants and there are a few times during the day that everything is closed. It was a bit frustrating to have to follow a schedule during vacation in that sense, as if you missed the windows there were chunks of time (2-3 hours) that there were little no food options. The standard rooms need a serious update. We didn’t spend a lot of time in our room, but for families with kids or for someone who spends a bit more time in their room, be sure to book something more than standard. Bring excellent walking shoes !!! Everything is quite a distance!
