A good breakfast if included on your booking. Room was clean, but parking at $25.00. There was parking on the outside across the Bistro 333 that was a little less. I would stay here again.
Someone walked into my room while there was a do not disturb sign on it and quickly ran out when they saw me.....that is awful!!
The hotel was very nice - clean, with nice amenities. The staff was phenomenal! Very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We felt that the parking fee ($31 per night for valet) was a little steep.
Check- in time is at 3pm. My fiancé and I got there at 330 to stand in line for 20 minutes and then be told that our room wasn't clean yet. They pointed us towards their restaurant and said you can get some drinks and food to wait for your room to be ready. After spending $80, waiting 2.5 hours, and complaining multiple times our room was finally ready and cleaned at 6pm at night!! They gave us a free drink as well as free breakfast coupon the next time but we were still very frustrated having to wait in their restaurant for our room to be ready 3 hours after check in time. If check in time is at 3pm then the rooms need to be ready!
Good location close to Bradley Center Parking is expensive and difficult to get to. Hotel is definitely in need of an update - it's looking kind of shabby.
Closeness too the Bradley Center
Valet was quick and friendly. Restaurant food good. Room was clean but sink drained too slowly. Convention that CONSUMED the hotel. Since has an open concept interior, convention seemed 24/7. Unfortunately, to add insult to injury, 3:30am fire alarm sounded Saturday night. No bill under the door in the morning so felt compelled to stop by front to check out. Many, many smokers at the doors and the smell of smoke on occasion inside.
Horrible Staff and will never stay there again
Closeness to the Bradley Center The room could of been cleaner. old food in the refrigerator.
Room was clean and comfortable. We arrived at 9am and were able to check-in then, which was amazing. The room had a refrigerator (nice) and was walking distance to lots of shopping, restaurants, sights, etc. The restaurant in the lobby had a great buffet breakfast. Had to pay $25 to park the car overnight.
Bobby the doorman was so friendly and helpful!
Great hotel, but parking for one night was $25. Pretty steep considering you're in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Great stay! Thanks Dan for the great service!! Nothing.
Everything was very clean and the staff were very helpful. Expensive parking. Could've parked somewhere else in the city for much cheaper. There were a lot of business people there and no family attractions such as a pool.
Very nice accommodations, The only issue I had was with the bathroom, the door had a huge gap at the bottom and no lock, the toilet looked like it was out of a public bathroom, and the the shower pressure was deplorable that it made showering challenging and long.
Ambiance and location were great. The corner room on the 15th floor had a great view. Elevators could be quicker.
Location The fitness center was good-I wished there was a lap pool. The computers in the business center were slow and hard to get into the internet at times.
The rooms are old & out dated. The beds are horrible.
Elegance of the hotel Long walk from parking garage.
Fire alarms all night
Quiet room, easy walk to the show at the Riverside, cozy bedding, perfect room temp, courteous and helpful staff, excellent and affordable restaurants within walking distance. Arrive after 6:00 pm and leave before 8:00am so parking very reasonable at $8. everything was wonderful
If you need to be in Downtown Milwaukee, the hotel is well located, has parking (though it's really expensive with in and out privileges -- and I say this as a Bostonian used to paying out the nose for parking), and the public spaces of the building are really nice and well maintained. The gent working the desk when we checked in was also a delight and gave lots of useful recommendations about what sites to see and where to eat. A+ to that guy. Our room itself was pretty low end, especially for an Intercontinental. The air conditioning didn't work, every piece of furniture was damaged, and the walls and bathroom showed a lot of wear and tear. When the front desk staff was alerted the ac didn't work, the guy simply said, "Oh, sorry." D- to that guy.
Great customer service every time we visit. You can't beat this great downtown location.
Beds not that comfortable
Great hotel if you are attending a show at The Pabst Theater or Milwaukee Rep since all three share a common lobby. Check in was quick and friendly (thanks Cory) and the room was spacious and clean. The candy/RedBull/bottled water purchase basket was a bit strange, but the rest of the room was fine. Parking is expensive for the area ($27).
The location is fantastic and the price of the rooms great. The room with 2 double beds my adult children had was pretty disgusting. The lamp had huge stains on the shade and the mattresses were all stained and disgusting looking ( they always check for bedbugs because my oldest son travels a lot and has seen them in hostels and nice hotels). The room was just very dingy and looked like a 2 star hotel Our room with a king was better but all the mattresses need to be upgraded and replaced. Carpets need cleaning etc The Kilawatt for brunch was okay. Food was not great....bloody Mary's were not so good....food adequate
One of the best in Milwaukee. We had to move to another 4 star (hyatt) on the same street after a day due to lack of availability at intercontinental and it was much inferior.
Loved the look of the hotel, the gallery, and the staff was great! Also walking distance from many great restaurants and shows. Parking is not included in your reservation, no microwave, no mini fridge, old out dated televisions, and house keeping kept bugging us.
Great location Take of and clean the ac vent better
It was great, and the spa was excellent. The view was good from the room. Was surprised Internet was not complimentary.
The Club option is nice...quite a refuge from a horrible room. Couldn't check in until 5:00 despite the 3:00PM check in time. Tub and sink had hair in them. Bedding was ripped.
Amazing hotel. Everything was 5 star.
Old school charm and service The decor, the people and the vibe.
Loved the ambience in the lobby. The room we stayed in was clean with a great view is the lake. Have to pay for wifi in this current age of free WiFi everywhere.
I do like the atmosphere and location of this hotel. They forgot to freshen up our room. We came back after being out for the day to find the bed not made and no fresh Towels.
The hotel is clean, excellent amenities, friendly staff and good good location. I'd stay again and recommend it to others.
This is a beautiful hotel We had the $200 room. No fridge or extra sink. I thought it was a little lacking for a luxury hotel. I guess we should of upgraded.
Beautiful historic hotel. Comfortable, clean and we enjoyed our stay.
We booked a last-minute room at the Pfister and loved our stay from start to finish. The room was beautiful and clean with a great view, service was stellar, and the location could hardly be improved. It doesn't hurt that the hotel is where we stayed after getting engaged! Great experience and we will definitely stay again next time we're in Milwaukee. Pretty much perfect.
Beautiful hotel with tons of character and charm. Good service, friendly staff, comfortable accommodations. Hotel lobby bar and Blu were excellent. Complimentary breakfast in the Cafe offered good food and full choice of anything on menu. Onsite amenities such as spa, shops and additional restaurants offer an extra touch. For the price of the rooms, wifi was not free. Given the necessity in today's day and age, not to mention that it is complimentary in many more basic hotels, this was a big let down. Especially when service in the tower is spotty for mobile without Wifi. It felt like a nickeled and dimes amenity. Clientele felt a bit uppity.
Ask me what I didn't like I loved everything None
Nice clean room staff is exceptionally well-trained and friendly Food was very good at two of the restaurants I was able to dine at the catered meals were good, maybe a little better than average, although the waitstaff could have been a little more attentive to clearing plates of finished diners. Although you can tell they have great smoke cleaners, the amount of smoke encountered in the casino is still noticeable, and the only way to the restaurants is through the casino! The checking out process needs some help - I haven't had to physically check out at the front desk in years, unless I wanted to. Usually there is a receipt under your door the day of checkout.
Dirty old hotel. No vending machines, unhelpful staff. The area around the hotel was not in the best location.
Beautiful interior, non-homogenized aesthetic, helpful staff, great central location, tasty food on site and a complimentary shuttle available for those working in the area. Neighbors could be easily heard at times, but it is an older hotel so that kind of comes with the territory.
Rooms were very spacious. Breakfast was not included. Gave lame reasons not to provide breakfast. Left side of the building was leaking. No pools. Will never visit nor let friends visit here.
Nice rooms, spacious and well arranged. I'm guessing they never move the furniture at all when they clean because there was all sorts of trash and food under the couch an TV stand. Soft beds, lots of pillows.
The room was bigger then expected, which was nice We had to pay $20 to park and they had snow on the roof of the parking garage, so we got stuck along with 5 other cars and had to help push each other out
Staff, shuttle service Location, outdated, overpriced, no vending machines, dirty rooms
The room was nice and the bar/lounge area was also nice The location was in the bad part of town Front desk staff was rude The check-in was a hastle since there are two ambassador hotels across the street from one another Room key didn't work first night coming back in to hotel Shuttle van was a cargo van with squealing brakes
The room and bathroom were very large Overall, the hotel seems a little shabby. The blinds in the bathroom were dirty and sticky. One of the elevators wasn't working upon check-out, so after waiting 10 minutes or so for the other one, I had to carry my suitcase down the stairs. It seems expensive for what feels more like a motel than a hotel.
I loved that the consiarge Eric helped me out with setting up our room. He was great!! Food also was great from Envoy. Everything was wonderful. One of the front desk people ( Connie I believe her name was) she was very crass toward the person that had dropped some items off for me the night before we checked in. Also the box that was on front of the TV did not work when I hooked up my laptop with the HDMI cord.
Rooms are really spacious, clean, comfortable, pretty, and quiet. Front desk staff and bartenders in lounge were great. The parking garage is a hassle. We had problems with the machine getting in and out. We also weren't able to take the free shuttle because we got skipped in line twice, but it wasSt Patty's Day and shenanigans will happen.
Beautifully restored Art Deco hotel. Staff friendly and attentive. Room very large. Free shuttle to any location downtown which was convenient. Great proximity to Marquette University.
Excellent in every way. Super clean and comfortable rooms, very nice restaurant, bar and coffee shop, great fitness room with machines and free weights (thanks for those) and the friendliest and most competent staff you'll find anywhere. Great place!
It was a casual atmosphere with an elegant touch. The rooms we had (we stayed on the way to and from Minneapolis) were unique. We had two different corner alcove rooms, and each of them were fantastic. The Patio was comfortable and a lot of fun. We were there for the first Thursday night of the season (biker night) and we very pleased.
The Iron Horse Hotel has a very industrial, contemporary decor that is AMAZING! Every detail is considered!! Nothing
I stay in hotels all over the country and this place was one of a kind. If you like motorcycles, staying here is a no brainer. You're a short walk away from the HD Museum and the feel and decor of the hotel has a rugged-modern vibe. I didn't get a chance to hang out at the bar but it looked like like a upbeat scene. Their signature restaurant was excellent. That I didn't have my Harley with me!
Whole experience from check in to check out was incredible. Rooms were very large, extremely comfortable, well appointed and stocked. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive to all of our requests Nothing
comfortable bed and great shower. excellent location for getting about town.
My wife and I stayed at the Iron Horse Hotel for a short weekend getaway from Chicago. We loved the hotel. The food at Smyth was great; don't miss the goat cheese appetizer and pork belly. The bar was also a really nice touch; the decor was all dark leather/wood and the cocktails were great. The staff for the entire hotel were some of the best I have seen and I stay in hotels 3-4 nights a week for business. The only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the dog policy. We live in a high-rise in downtown Chicago that allows dogs, so we weren't expecting to be bothered by a little noise. However, there were multiple occasions when dogs would be crying and howling (most likely from being left alone in an unfamiliar room) early in the morning and late at night. This wasn't the best for our romantic weekend away, but wouldn't stop me from visiting the Iron Horse Hotel in the future.
Ambiance & relaxed atmosphere -- w/great staff! N/a
This hotel is a historic site. The rooms have character and are large. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would rather stay at a hotel like this than a chain hotel.
Staff were incredibly helpful and sweet. Very cute rooms and spa and roof access was amazing! some loud guests during the night. Bed was firmer than I prefer.
Huge room, comfy bed, pet friendly. Good location. Room rates are not inexpensive, so one would expect a little more for their buck. But not at the Hotel Metro. Apparently, they must feel their location, which is good, and the fact their aren't a large hotel is enough. Luke warm showers, no matter time of day. Nickle and dime with charges...for instance a room service fee of $4 if you charge something on the room. Even if you go and get it yourself in the restaurant to bring up to the room, Ridiculous. And a surprise $4.99 historic preservation fee, which is clearly NOT going into upgrading their hot water delivery system. Because of these things, I would not recommend. There are plenty of other cool places to stay in Milwaukee. Don't waste your money.
Courteous staff, great decor, and clean room. The amount of endless noise in the hallway ALL night. Several parties were screaming from outside to someone staying on our floor.
The room was recently updated and the set up was great. The fridge wasn't working and there was actually some old half drank water bottle in it. And no ice machines on floor.
Friendly staff, modern and comfortable accommodations, free water in the room. Great location, valet parking was mid-priced at $25 per day. We chose Aloft because I've stayed at the properties in other cities and had a similarly pleasant experience. And we had to find a place with a swimming pool. Aloft ion Milwaukee is well worth it. not much to dislike as we stayed for one night and the experience was very good.
The showers are nice. The blinds are really poor. You need thicker blinds to keep the light out. You can't keep the blinds open and expect to have any sort of privacy. The door from the shower to the rest of the room does not seal, so coming out of the shower is freezing. The walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING from surrounding rooms. They say the mattresses are firm. There are not firm.
I liked that it was near a lit of fun bars and restaurants. I also thought it was fun and had a very cool look to it! Beds we a little hard.
Loved the design, decor and features. Hip & modern without the overkill. Comfortable beds and spotless rooms.
Friendly staff, great selection of food in the lobby. There was no hot tub, only a pool.
The location is excellent, great views of the river and right next to the river walk. Within walking distance to some really great restaurants. Quiet, and the room was very comfortable! No parking lot, so you either pay to park or pay for valet service. Also, no free breakfast so we had to pay almost $30 just to eat breakfast.
Location was close to everything including an awesome row of bars. The rooms were nice and spacious and the staff was friendly. Parking is limited to pretty much only valet but they were at least quick in getting the car. The biggest issue is noise. I could hear the people in the room next to ours having conversations without any difficulty. This place was popular with bachelor and bachelorette parties which meant the noise at night was extremely loud and went into the early morning.
Cool rooms Kinda dirty guys. House keeping woke me up and I had already called for late check out. Not cool
The staff was friendly. The property was awesomely located. The place was clean. Everyone was on board to help and make sure people enjoyed their stay. The honest to goodness only issue that I had throughout my entire stay was the wifi kept crashing on me. Other than that it was perfect.
There basically is no room. You feel cramped from the moment you arrive and realize you cannot pull up to the door and cannot park. Very casual staff. Maybe the 30 year olds like things this way. We do not. We will not be back.
Location Restaurants were cute and good food Bar upstairs was cool with all seasons porch Comfortable bed Dog friendly New building Staff was friendly Clean Open air shower (looks cool but it's cold) No cell service in building Valet is a bit pricy Toiletries were sparse (my lotion was half used with a hair on it) Views not good from room (HVAC units and alley)
The staff was very friendly and tried to help the best they could Our rooms were not ready at the check-in time. We had booked two rooms and we were able to get into one room an hour late and the other two hours late. At the price, It was unacceptable.
Intensive training on staff, was very evident where I was approached by every person that worked in the hotel with a smile and inquisitive in nature to see what I might need. Was there for four days for Summerfest and had recently stayed at a Kimpton in Austin on rainy Street and enjoyed it. I was able to the enjoy the upstairs rooftop bar for a very short period as it was too busy . Complementary bicycles were a very nice touch, as I am putting them at two of my rental properties now for clients that come and stay . Not having coffee makers in the room is a mistake. I understand the need to possibly get people out of the rooms too co-mingle down in the lobby, yet it's imperative that the first thing I do when I wake up is have a cup of coffee while I shower, news , prepare . I do this at every hotel I stay and this is the only hotel that has not offered it, and I know that's coming through some type of other reasoning either to generate coffee sales or to make the lobby appear bustling. I do not like the open shower which was the same in the Austin hotel. I like to slide a door shut or have a curtain as I feel rushed to get out of the shower because I am feeling like I am getting water all over the floor, which was somewhat the case. I'm not sure who's design idea that was but not crazy about it .
Upon arrival we were greated NY friendly and very helpful staff. Night front desk service was incredibly rude and crass and didn't seem to care about either. I would not return bas we on the night staff's attitude ever again!!!
Front Desk Staff was great! Cleanliness of the sheets when ready to turn down for the night, looked like there was blood stains on sheets. When calling down for service to get new sheets they brought them up but we had to change the dirty sheets and did not give us all new bedding just a fitted and a flat sheet.
We only stayed one night while we made a trip up to a Brewers game while we were staying in Chicago. The hotel has a shuttle that will take you to the game and back for $10. We didn't use this feature, but it is a nice one to have if you don't have a car. They will also shuttle you anywhere within 2 miles for free. The room was clean and quiet. Parking and wifi are free. Parking filled up at night when we returned from the baseball game, but we parked on the street with no problems. The free breakfast was typical of a free breakfast, but when trying to save a little money it is a nice feature to have. Do not leave valuables in your car or anything that looks tempting. We did witness a man walking around checking in cars and pulling on handles. When he saw us watching he got in his car (with a child in the front seat!) and drove off.
Definitely not what was advertised. Room was dirty, stains on chair, curtains, phone was filthy, tv wouldn't turn on. Would not return to this hotel.
Not too far from Old World section of Milwaukee. Made the walk once. Room was nice enough. Its got everything you need (fridge, safe, decent shower, A/C, etc.) . The staff looked like work release clients from a halfway house but they were all fairly friendly and helpful with directions and carrying bags. Cheap. WiFi had serious issues. Would drop and stay down for hours. Had I known that I would have never stayed. The neighborhood isnt ideal. Lock your car. When I asked about the shuttle taking me to the airport they told me they wouldnt recommend it because sometimes the driver "oversleeps" and to take a cab or a bus instead. This was fine for a single adult male staying a couple days with a vehicle. Probably wouldnt recommend a family on an extended trip though.
Excellent value. Free breakfast. Free WiFi. Clean. It was a busy weekend and they did not have sufficient parking.
The staff was very helpful and personable. It was extremely clean the beds were comfortable the shower was amazing the breakfast better than most free breakfasts. Felt safe and comfortable I didn't like that I didn't have any money to top. due to an extremely rough day prior to arriving at the hotel. Next time I stay I will make up for it.
Location is great for our purposes. Heater in room only operated on High Fan. Was extremely noisy. Low fan DID NOT work. Noisy hallway at 2AM and again at 3AM. Breakfast, normally very good, was cold this trip.
Staff was very nice. Free shuttle to downtown. Asked for a quiet room, got a quiet room. Big rooms. Nice shower. Free parking. Cute bar downstairs with a really nice bartender. Semi-seedy location, just wouldn't go walking around by yourself at night. A/c kept going on and off, so we were either super cold or hot.
Room was ok Staff, building, management etc...
Great breakfast and free shuttle if willing to wait a bit. Shower was hard to shut off and bathroom not the cleanest. Also front desk was always busy with in person or calls.
Originally put me in a smoking room without asking if that was alright. Switched me into regular room after I complained. A nasty old tea bag left next to phone. Never followed thru on wake up call the morning I requested one.
Refreshing vintage style (Built and operational since the 20s) with modern updates. Very clean and comfortable. Staff was more than curtious. I wanted to move in. A bit drafty. That's it.
It's an older hotel, so it has a romantic charm. The rooms could be updated. The old window air conditioner was loud through the night.
The cafe was wonderful. The staff were fantastic. We initially had a room that smelled like smoke. After telling the staff about this, they instantly changed our room to a different one. They made a bad situation into a great situation.
Location. Room was comfortable. Full kitchen. No elevator. Restaurant limited offerings and hours
I loved the beds and the cold bottles of water in the rooms. Transportation. With the State Fair going on, I would have liked to have seen transportation to the fair.
The staff and facility were first class and made our stay most enjoyable.
Clean, comfortable beds, room amenities, very polite and friendly staff Only negative is a mandatory 20 dollar per night valet fee, but that may be standard for the downtown
Great central location. Nice clean hotel and friendly staff. Comfortable beds and efficient service There were no refrigerators or microwaves as told me I would have on the confirmation sheet
I liked the cleanliness of the hotel, I also really enjoyed getting free cookies at check in and the location.
The valet attendants were wonderful. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants, remembered us as we grabbed our car multiple times, and were quick with getting the car. We were there for the Hal marathon and one of the attendants probably saw as many miles as we did getting the unusual line of people's cars at 6 a.m. He kept his smile on and joked around as he left multiple times to get cars.
Walkable distance to shopping and restaurants, and other downtown attractions. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was delicious!
comfy bed and pillows friendly staff lots of towels popcorn ceiling lack of shower tub(?) decor remote didn't work (sometimes) no free parking ($20 valet)
The hotel cancelled our reservation an hour before we were set to arrive, and this is after we received a reservation confirmation that morning. We were left scrambling to make alternate arrangements at the last minute and while on the road.
Room was comfortable and large. Location was great. Was told breakfast ended at 9, at check in we were told it ended at 10. Minor inconvenience.
They overbooked us so we were moved to a different hotel that was less convenient. Not a great experience but it could have been worse.
We liked the river being so close so we could go outside and sit on the benches there along the Walk. It was easier to walk to the events we were attending because the Residence Inn was located close enough to them. The Staff was friendly and professional and helpful. The AC was excellent! The sofa bed was so rough on my cousin's back he was very sore the next morning. There were never enough towels so we had to ask for them several times and for the money we paid to stay there, the towels were thin, very non absorbent and rough on the skin. There weren't even any toiletries provided that even the cheap hotels have in their rooms! When the cleaning person came in, she/he removed the dirty glasses and cups in the sink and never brought any back. We actually would have preferred to NOT have the cleaning crew come in. We kept the room fairly cleaned up and could always call for whatever we needed. One bottle of water, a bottle of soda and a bag of chips cost $8 at the hotel desk so bring your own drinks and munchies!!
Loved the view, high ceilings, comfortable bed, room/suite size
The room and hotel was great looking and modern and the area was amazing! The bests were a little too firm and stuff, the pull out sofa had a bar that went right where your back would be so keeping it folded up was more comfortable for my friend. The breakfast had potential but the eggs were extremely watery
Staff was amazingly helpful. Simply over the top! Took a real interest in making sure they met all of our needs. Remembered who we were. Said hello every time we walked in the front door.
continental breakfast, location, overnight staff's willingness to fix problems clogged sink in room, evening staff's unwillingness to fix problem or switch rooms
Love the location of this hotel. Near the lake and a lot of nice attractions. The new owners are making some nice changes to the hotel. I couldn't connect to the internet with my computer or my IPhone using the hotel wifi connection. When I said something to the person at the front desk she offered me the number of the provider. I told her she should call. I do not ever have problems with my IPhone connecting to a wifi and my computer was correctly configured. It was the hotel"s problem not mine. I found it annoying that the staff didn't take this request seriously. I also mentioned it at check out and the person on duty didn't even respond to my comment.
Great location. Good bed. Refrigerater ,air conditioning worked great No pool
Front desk staff was friendly The bartender on Saturday night was very rude. Didn't seem to like his job at all. Kept complaining about having customers while he was trying to be I his phone.
Location was great for where I needed to be. No restaurant during the day. Cleanliness am issue as well. Nothing like the pictures on their web site.
Our walk to summerfest was short, that's what I liked. This hotel was listed as a 4 star....Wrong! This place was old and dirty. The parking situation was horrible. Don't bother looking at this one, move on. Way over priced the the quality. I would have expected to pay half of that.
It was a nice hotel. Dated, but still clean and professional. For the price it was worth it. Parking is not included, but a complimentary breakfast is. It's on the higher end of free breakfasts from mid-price hotels. Waffle maker, eggs, sausages, baked goods, bagels, fruit, cereal, milk, juice, coffee. Enough fuel to get your mornings going well. It had square pillows. And they gave you many. Weird, but not the end of the world.
I liked the location and the partial vies of the water. The air conditioner unit is older and every time is turned on it roared to life and was loud and continually woke us up.
Definitely an economy hotel and nothing more. It becomes pretty obvious that management put all of their money into the restaurant and bar area and doesn't care at all about the maintenance of the rooms Beyond changing bed sheets and making sure door locks work. I lifted up the curtain above the window and saw layers of wallpaper crumbling from years of neglect. This place is in need of a total renovation. The price paid was not terrible since the location is great, right next to the lakefront, but we would not stay here again unless we had to. On top of that, $15 a night for parking in an empty parking garage attached to the hotel? You've got to be kidding me. And then the receptionist lied to me and said there was nowhere else to park other than the street in which I would have to call the police to okay my vehicle overnight. There is no sign that says no overnight parking, and it was apparent that everyone else in the area utilized street parking overnight. So I parked in the street and lo and behold not a single car was ticketed, nor did anyone have a special permit in their window. Tons of stuff was within walking distance, plenty of great restaurants and bikes for rent. This place has a lot of potential if somebody would invest into some much needed updates to Pull this place out of the 1980s See above
Everyone in the hotel staff was very friendly, the room was clean and there was a lovely rooftop patio with a nice view of the lake. We will return! Yes, the hotel is a little tired looking, but it was not really that big of a deal. The restaurant on site was a different story. We were in for a concert and hit the bar after the show. Eric the bartender was a bit of a jerk and people trying to bring food to eat at the bar, after the kitchen was closed, were turned away. What sort of idiot sends paying (and tipping) patrons away like that? If the rule to disallow outside food is solely to protect food sales (as he said), then either serve food until close or shut up when someone wants to buy your beer and eat their pizza. He also rudely took my pint glass and gave me a plastic cup in the middle of a beer because he wanted to wash the glass. Sorry, does my presence at the bar inconvenience you? No worries, it won't again. Great stay at the hotel though...just find somewhere else for the nightcap!
Hated entire stay Not sufficient parking for rooms, bum's walking around hotel and my car I had to park on street all night, dirty room and terribly stained carpet, in obvious crime area, lying employees about neighborhood and awareness of bum's on street drug house two doors down, misleading photograph on kayak, poor customer service when calling hosts come since you outsource to service bureau-spent 2 hours on phone with little results. Never use kayak again, made my staying Milwaukee harendouous , a real flop house
The beds were so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of bed. The continental breakfast was the best hotel breakfast that I have ever had. The pool was out with no prior notice
The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome and important. We would stay here again and since my daughter lives in Wauwatosa we probably will. The fan noise from the heating/cooling unit was a bit too loud for me. The room was not luxurious but a good value and was neat and clean.
Definitely dirty hotel overrun with bedbugs, no hygiene and lack of interest by employees to report such situation. They should close the hotel for such a lousy service
The room was nice, clean, had green options if staying more than 1 night Pancakes were rubbery, heat/ AC were running constantly and ac was very noisy making it hard to hear the tv- we eventually turned that off to cool the room off- was set way to warm for us. Parking is horrible at this location.
The room looked recently renovated, so nicer quality. The continental breakfast area was also pretty well done and well stocked. Staff was friendly. The checkin process was slow, there was construction happening on premises that was a bit distracting, the elevator was super dated and small, and the room air conditioner kept the room cool, but the humidity was felt in the air.
Staff was extremely helpful and courteous, Great gym and pool but too many steps to get down to it for my handicapped mother as the elevator didn't work to the basement. Very out dated, not very clean, small bathroom in the room, carpeting was filthy and you could see to the hallway from inside our room. Too many steps to get down to the pool and gym for my handicapped mother as the elevator didn't work to the basement. I Overpaid for this hotel and will never stay here again. Extremely disappointed in the hotel
Pool Small beds
The staff at the hotel were amazingly friendly, helpful, and seemed to truly care if we enjoyed our stay. A gentlemen name Lamont, allowed my 7 year old niece and I enjoy the pool an extra half hour after closing time. Most staff got to know my niece and I were staying there for a few days just the two of us while her parent worked, they live in Milwaukee and I was visiting from Colorado. A nice gal at the front even asked about our Geocache searches etc. Food was fabulous as well! I really wouldn't change anything it was right on!
The view from my room was spectacular due to all the fall colors along the river and from the Anchorage for dinner. The bed was fantastic, and on par with a Hilton regular traveler, so it was nice to see this location has kept those amazing beds. Hopefully their renovations don't change that. I had a King room, and it was spacious. The restroom is the only part that needed true attention. The hallway noise is notable, and the walls are typical of most places in that you can hear most noises above a conversation level. The facility is undergoing a major renovation, and I was privvy to enjoy one of the last meals available from the Anchorage. My waiter/bartender Brian was FANTASTIC and a wealth of information for local attractions and the man truly knows his alcohol...I'll probably return there after the renovations are completed just to see what they did with removing the beautiful fish tank and that amazing brass bar rail with the elephants. I felt the room charge was okay, and fully expect it will be more when I return. Hopefully the renovations will make it worth it and that Brian will still be working there for dinner/bar service! Great location...
Room was clean and hotel was generally quiet. Claimed that a data entry or data transmission error from Kayak or Booking.com caused the loss of our reservation. It took more than 15 minutes to find and correct the error while we waited. The entire first floor is under construction, including entryway, lobby and hallways. Patio was closed except for lunch and dinner.
The room set up was nice the bed and pillows very comfy. The bathroom was nice and clean. Hotel adequate for quick 1 night stay in an emergency. Hotel is not downtown as claimed. Riverfront view deceiving per website pictures. The pool was 3.9 ft and staff I asked didn't even know they had a pool. Fitness room not open. Room trash can was not emptied. Only saw one staff member explain amenities hotel had to offer. When asked about hotel amenities was instructed its was a brochure in room this was not the case. No microwaves in room or hotel period. Even for a sale price of $100 a night not worth the stay should have been a $60 a night rate. Will not stay again pictures and description of hotel not accurate. Look elsewhere if you want to swim, be in the actual downtown area, warm up food and knowledgeable staff.
The hotel is being renovated and you were forced to walk through the area bring worked on and the only ones without Hard hats were the guests. Having to walk through a construction zone is dangerously. The hotel should have been shut down during this portion of the renovation
Very comfortable room...simple, but comfortable. No vending machines for snacks; no gift shop.
Major major renovations. Initially thought it was closed. Could not find the lobby easily. Restaurant closed. Construction started early; luckily I was already awake and ends late. Had to walk through construction site. Guy with propane torch on ladder right above my head as I was leaving. The construction job would have been shut down if in Califiornia. Hotel should be shut down or they should give out construction helmets to guests.
The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the shuttle service was easy to use. Breakfast not included
Although the hotel is under renovation, the guest rooms on three of the floors were not affected. I thought the room was clean and comfortable, and there was ample parking. I would stay there again.
We booked the room at the Hyatt because it was only a few dollars more than the Super 8 with park & fly included. We got in late that night after a 6 hour drive only to be told that we weren't allowed to use the park & fly because we had booked with Kayak. No advance warning, just a "you're not good enough for us so figure out where you're going to park before you have to be to the airport for 5:15 am." We had prepaid so we weren't even able to leave & go to the Super 8. Never again & we're going to warn everyone we possibly can.
The staff is very friendly! Always going above and beyond to help. The airport is literally within walking distance. Prices were reasonable for downtown Milwaukee The pillows on the bed are not comfortable. They could really be upgraded/replaced
Clean, convenient The early evening staff needs to remember to advise travelers to call once they have landed to have the shuttle come pick them up.
Excellent shower, best pillows of any hotel, great bed. Appreciated the many good breakfast choices. Very limited food choices in bar.
Great breakfast and excellent customer service.

Very interesting architecture with incorporating the former beer kettles of Pabst into the design of the hotel.

THE CHARM, HISTORY AND DECOR. EXTREMELY WELL DONE-AND SO SO SPECIAL! still pricey for Milwaukee-but gorgeous...I nice splurge. the continental breakfast was really weak...with a full kitchen attached to the hotel, I would up the breakfast to be hotter, more substantial and more WI!
Right next to Amtrak Air conditioning wasn't working, terrible for the late summer. Elevators weren't working correctly either.
Location Breakfast buffet for $8.95 was reasonable Beds were lumpy and slanted Floors were damp Hallways were stinky and damp TV was a box TV that only got one channel Temperature control didn't work well
It was downtown Dated and not the cleanest. Loud, and extra charges on my card at the end...
Nice bed Nice staff I was disappointed that the front desk person did not know what bus to take to get to the airport.
It is in Milwaukee and so was I. Pretty shabby. I wouldn't call it dirty, but it was hardly gleaming. It clearly hasn't been updated in decades. It is "downtown," but not really near anything. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Thermostat didn't apparently do anything. If you are desperate for a room in downtown Milwaukee...
The bed and pillows were comfortable enough and thankfully looked clean. Front desk staff were friendly. Parking is free, but in an unsecured lot behind the hotel. This hotel has not been kept up. It's in poor shape - lots of things that need to be repaired/replaced, fixtures partially off the wall. It also needs to be deep cleaned - some things, like the light switch, were so dirty that I didn't want to touch them. There was a huge gap under the door, which is both unsafe and bad for noise. Not worth what they charge. I would not stay there again.
Leaving Everything besides leaving
Convenient location for our needs. Dirty. Blood on the back of the bathroom door. Poor drainage in bathroom. Shabby. Very poor internet connection. Very much overpriced -- I've stayed in lovely boutique hotels in the Chicago Loop for less.
The lady at the front desk was nice but that's about it Our room, and multiple friends in other rooms, was 100 degrees and there was no air conditioning. No warm water, water had a yellow tint to it, one elevator worked.
Location was good for what I was there for. Staff was friendly. Rooms were adequate. Dated decore, bathroom showers kind of dirty. Long hairs still on shower walls. Homeless people were sitting out front. Price was high for this condition of hotel. Not likely to stay again
Friendly staff was the ONLY bright spot, everything else was terrible. Per the previous reviews, I was expecting a rude staff, but the reality was that the staff is friendly. It's the facilities that are terrible and any hotel would/should be ashamed of (ESPECIALLY being situated downtown). - 1 of 2 elevators functions ("functions" used loosely) - walls, ceilings and carpets are old and stained - room furniture was cheap and archaic - A/C did not work, hot air vented at all settings (room was unbearably hot) - bathtub drain was clogged and water did not drain - plain and simple, if the rest of the rooms are like the one my wife and I stayed in, the entire hotel NEEDS to be revamped/remodeled - based on this stay we will not be staying at a Ramada again
The free parking. The heating and ac were terrible. Could not control either. The room was so hot. Could not open a window. The TV was old and not hi-def. Very noisy all night in the halls with people holding parties outside their rooms.
