Mexican-style décor includes elaborately carved headboards, tiled floors, and dark-wood furniture. The suites also offer WiFi (surcharge), cable television, sofa beds, and pillow menus.
Pros: Beach location was good, but very overcrowded when I was there.
Cons: I was there with the business colleague for a business trip and was highest price hotel in Mazatlan. When I found my room was not on the beach side hotel, we paid and upgraded to rooms on the beachfront hotel. However, we found out it was only one bedroom suite room they wanted to put us in. When I went to get a second room, they made me pay an up charge again. I truly felt that it was a scam to keep getting more money out of me. This whole process took 1.5 hours to check in and was very frustrating.
Facilities are very dated and not completely clean like newer hotels would be. The pool area and beach was very crowded while I was there. There was no room to grab a chair.
It was more an old vacation time-share place, than a quality business hotel. Some place like the Ramada would have been a better choice and $100 cheaper. I had stayed at the W in Mexico City for the same price as this and it was in a whole other level. If I was to compare the 2, El Cid would have to be a 1 or 2 out of 10. They may charge these higher prices to compensate for the timeshare people that do not provide enough cash flow.
Pros: The beds are fine.
Cons: The hotel´s fee was wrong. I paid ----dlls in order to stay there.
El Cid Granada offers airport drop-off service (available 24 hours) for MXN 240 per person one-way. Guests can indulge in massages or mani/pedis, then grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. An outdoor pool and a fitness center are other highlights, and rooms offer balconies and room service.
Pros: The location in the Gold Zone was convenient. The beach area is pretty.
Cons: But the noise from the bars was overwhelmingly loud. The room was ugly - no decor what so ever.
Pros: The staff was great.
Cons: Smoking - every morning I woke up to smoke at 7:15 - it ruined things for me and hurt my lungs by the end of the trip. The food was less than average.
Pros: I loved the location of the hotel. Right on the beach and loved that 3 of the el cid hotels are on the same property so many pools to choose from. Right next to señor frogs which has open bar on Wednesday and Friday which is so fun!
Cons: Very loud. Under construction?? Can hear everything.
Pros: i liked the beach area and the ocean view.
Cons: no refrigerator in the room, sometimes there was no ice on ice machine
Pros: The staff is their biggest asset for sure.
Cons: Well the loud speaker for the pool activities was a little overboard.
Pros: The pools are beautiful and very well kept. The beach is beautiful and I will miss it! The hotel is beautiful and our room, although older, was very nice. The little maid (5' tall and about 85 lbs.!) was very efficient.
Cons: We liked mostly everything with the exception of the 'time sharers' in the hotel. They called constantly inviting us to their meetings. Even after telling them NO, they would call again!
Pros: They are always cleaning! Necessary when you are right on the beach, but still impressive. Constant sweeping.
The A/C worked well in my room, but not in my friends' room.
Although the beds were hard, they managed to be very comfortable for me.
Several English tv channels.
It is right on the beach! Nice to be able to just walk right there and also to have the view.
Cons: NOISY! I had a room overlooking the pool, but also the beach. My room had very little insulation from the noise on the beach (bands) or down below (poolside entertainment) OR next door (through the adjoining door). In fact, every afternoon, my room also smelled like frying food from the pool restaurant. The sounds of the waves in the middle of the night were very strong, too!
I also went to perhaps the best quality restaurant there (La Concha) and had a delicious meal, which I then vomited up a few hours later. I was surprised that, as careful as I was about eating only trustworthy places and foods, that cooked fish, vegetables and rice would finally get me.
Towel service was spotty. They would come get the dirty towels early in the day and not clean the room until late afternoon, so if you needed a shower mid-day, you might have been without a towel. I rarely was provided with hand towels and washcloths both.
They try very hard to get you to buy a timeshare. No desire, with an experience like this.
Pros: Location and availability.
Cons: Room was a bit smokey.
Pros: great location
Cons: we changed rooms. 1st room by the pool. Too noisy.had to pay for the change

Pros: Location and service are great. Staff is willing to help and serve as requested. Restaurant on the beach side is good. Breakfast buffet is a good option.
