The Location was OK for my needs, the room was modern and had a good shower.
Lack of in-hotel refreshments, no room service, very limited parking, staff need either customer service training or the opportunity to find another job. Breakfast was below average. My main gripe is that the hotel charged for a no-show on a second room I booked but were unable to produce a receipt for this charge and still haven't.
Good location, and parking.
The hot and cold taps on the basin were reversed. I couldn't turn off one of the bedside lights, I had to remove the bulb. I did tell reception about these problems but they didn't seem that interested.
The bathroom is very clean and the price is good.
The hotel could do with some refurbishing. The pipes smell like sewage. I did not find the staff particularly friendly.
I was able to walk around a bit and purchase food etc. Parking is available for purchase if you drive so that helps. Climate control options are in the room though and that's always nice.
There wasn't water in the rooms, and I wanted to just purchase some from the vending machine but it was also broken. They have a bar and cafeteria area but I wasn't able to purchase at the time. It's a minor complaint but after a flight, beverage options are always nice. Staff was kind though, easy going.
The hotel itself is nice. Our room was clean, although my brothers was not so much! We even had Netflix in our room!
Not one member of staff managed a smile! Reception staff were miserable, bar staff didn't say more than 2 words!
Built in 1854 to coincide with the reopening of the Crystal Palace exhibition venue, Best Western London Queens Crystal Palace Hotel is a striking Victorian building in one of the most picturesque parts of south London. A stay here puts you in good company – French writer Emile Zola resided here for many months in the 1890s during his time in exile, while German emperor Kaiser Wilhelm II used the hotel as a base for his visits to Queen Victoria. Our updated rooms all come with contemporary décor, air conditioning, flat-screen TV and hairdryer. We also have an onsite car park, conferencing facilities, Italian restaurant and spacious ground floor lounge bar with satellite TV. Selhurst Park football ground is only a five-minute drive away, while Crystal Palace Park is just two minutes by car. If you’re looking to do a spot of sightseeing while you’re here, you’ll find the major attractions of central London around 8 miles from the hotel.
