Great location, very quiet despite proximity to station. Easy parking underneath. Excellent rooms, clean and functional.
Mattress and pillows very comfortable. Breakfast - scrambled eggs cold. Gluten free choice limited and GF muffins were mouldy. Room temp difficult to regulate.
excellent location near the station and the city center; also very close to Euralille, which is a great shopping center; clean room; good breakfast My room was way too noisy because of the dysfunctional closing system of the window ; I was also very disappointed because the staff at the reception desk was not only unfriendly but also very rude.
The hotel was fine but nothing more. The location was the best point Very basic. Bed was bad and breakfast awful.
We liked the location of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful
The check in was simple and the clerk was very efficient, extremely helpful and polite. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable, and great stay with the hotel located a short walk from the Old Town and the Christmas Market. Wide range available for breakfast, but the hot food offering was limited and cold
Excellent facilities. Very large rooms which were clean and very comfortable. Excellent facilities onsite with bar and good priced restaurant. Internet available. Friendly staff. Good location, only 5 minute walk to center of Lille.
Not very good location and no car park!!
Comfort of the rooms and the vast range of breakfast items
clean modern hotel ,convenient for SNCF/ Eurostar breakfast seemed expensive.
Close to railway station Lille Flandre
We liked the central position of the hotel, the rooms were well soundproofed and the beds were very comfortable. The provision of tea/coffee making facilities in the room was unusual for Europe but were much appreciated. We were also able to access BBC television. The bathroom was well equipped but very cramped.
The decor of the room Because of the age of the building, one can hear every footstep above and next door; that is disturbing.
very confortable and quiet room. pleasant staff at reception.
location rooms need to be refurbished
Room and building were nice as were the staff. The location is excellent. The bathroom of our room (201) was very poor - the tiles were dirty and many in the shower area were missing grouting. Not 4 star, more like 2 star. A good clean, a new shower head and re-grouting of the tiles would have made all the difference.
frendly staff nice and central for shops no
Arriving on a wet evening the hotels car parking service was an excellent idea.
the facility and room are clean and gorgeous. The staff was extra helpful with travel issues. The room and bath were great value.
Perfect location in the centre of Lille with easy access to shopping car parks, and restauarants. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Room spacious and light with two french windows giving fantastic views into the Opera House square. Our Privelage Room suffered from lack of coat hanging space and clothes storage. This was acceptable for a short 3 day stay.
The hotel rooms are beautiful and the service was good
The location is very good and the staff very kind and helpful. I also appreciated the calm of the hotel. Breakfast is expensive for what you get (no fresh orange juice, poor savoury buffet, etc.). The bathroom was very hot. I think the value for money could be much better.
Very friendly and efficient welcome. Hotel location was excellent for visiting the old town of Lille. There was only one small lift and the wait at times was quite long.
The location is perfect, near the old and new town, and easy parking at the opera public parking
Fabulous location in the heart of Lille. Rooms were excellent, and very clean with attractive decor. Ours had a little balcony to see Lille by night. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Bathroom decor was not quite up to the standard of the bedroom, but a small detraction in an otherwise extremely pleasant weekend stay.
position, location cleanliness
Good Central location, excellent staff would stay there again
Excellent location, quiet room, local flemish touch in interior design, friendly staff. Cant see any.
It was OK
Location The breakfast was expensive. It wasn't clear when booking that tax would be on top of room costs. The rooms are tired and bland..very 80's! Strong smell of cigarettes during the night. We had two rooms both of which weren't ready with beds unmade so we were reallocated new rooms. the lift was very small so difficult to get more than two people with suitcases in. The staff were friendly and helpful though and the location was brilliant.
Location in the city centre, near the train stations and the metro. Nice staff, nice room. Very clean.
the size of the bathroom, the place of the toilet was very inconfortable, tou hqve your knees on the bathroom door
First of all the location in the city centre (50 metres from railway station). Then the free of charge wireless internet conection. No electric kettle in the room and other this kind facilities.
its location and price, all okay
Its location. The bathroom was very very small. The TV too.
We found the staff friendly. The receptionist when we arrived was particularly helpful and went to great lengths to show us the way to the hotel car park. He also provided us with a map of the City. The radiator in our bedroom was not particularly efficient but as the weather was mild it was not a problem to us.
Good location. Just in fronmt of the station.
For a double room it was small except that it was equipped with a real bathroom with a tub, so we had to change for a family room. But the family room was equipped with only a tiny shower !!!!!
Too hot in the room! Outside temp was only 15C, don't know where the heat came from, ....
The Hotel is well located in the heart of the City. The Hotel reception staff were excellent. The Hotel is new and very stylish. Access to local information - regarding restaurants and interesting places would have been useful.
very cool spot..... also very small but functional and modern...lovely amenities... most attractive and charming young lady from Lille on the front desk....excellent breakfast...the are is a bit dodgy but is in the process of improving.. if you can acept the small but ultra modern accomodations this is a great spot none
Very quiet room but in a central location. Very comfortable bed.
Excllent hotel withvery goo staff. I won;t hesitate to recommendand stay there again.
Great location, close to train station and centre of town
Amazing decor, beautifully presented hotel, better than some 4 star hotels I have stayed in. The staff were very helpful, although we had problems with breakfast on Sunday even though we had booked the night before, there were no tables when we arrived. The lady on duty was excellent although very understaffed and accomodated us as soon as possible. Short staffed on Sundays
Excellent location for shops and Eurostar -everything in easy walking distance. Loved the fresh, modern design, a refreshing change from chain hotels. Bed super comfy, lovely huge shower. We had to wait 30mins for our room.
Great location, excellent staff and modern very well equipped comfortable rooms - highly recommended. Nothing
The rooms on the lower floor can be noisy
On arrival the hotel looked strange and when you climbed a set of stairs the reception area was small but the room was very comfortable and quite sizable plus the hotel was well placed for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping
The hotel is newly-renovated - very stylishly - and the superior double room that I had was large and comfortable and overlooked the street leading to Place du Rihour. The hotel's location is fantastic - easy walking distance from the main train and local metro stations and to key sights. Generally, the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the young woman on reception and the housekeeper. The only aspect about my stay that I didn't like was the noise made by the delivery/cleaning trucks that started to arrive in the normally pedestrian-only streets between 6 and 7 am.
Right in the middle of the city. Perfect for a weekend break!
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location. We stayed in the privileged room no 104. As we investigated next day, it was the only room from the Privileged range on the 1st floor that had ridiculously small bathroom. "Small" is actually a massive understatement - the layout was awkward and one needed to do some gimnastics to pass the sink to get to the toilet. Once in place the sink could be used as a head support... Additionally there was a bad smell from drains in the room. This room 104 shouldn't be classed as Privileged. If we were placed in one of the other Privileged rooms with normal bathroom I would give the room high grade.
It was very clean and in the very city centre No lift and a lot of stairs, not really practical for heavy luggage.
Good location, close to Rail Stations, which was essential to me wasn't really easy to find it from the first time. Numbers of buildings in Lille are rarely seen and hotel is situated a bit aside of the street. So the main thing is to find KOOKAI shop and hotel is just on the right next to it.
friendly and helpfull staff, flexibility of timetable no elevator, no hangers for towels
central location, nicely renovated, nice "salle de séjour" rooms are rather small, but with modern equipment, air-conditioning is used for heating (which worked fine in the room I had)
Small, clean hotel in the centre of the city!!!! In tha bathroom there were now hangers to hang on towels etc ...
Location being extremely close to the centre and it's local facilities Very noisey, not through traffic but other residents as no carpets on floors
Clean and great location The hotelstaff at night (one man) was very drunk when he was working
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Basic rooms, but very central location with restaurants and central sites on your doorstep. Staff are friendly and english speaking. Large parking building is directly across the street, but you must email them to book as very limited spaces allocated for the hotel. The cot for baby was already set up in our room without having to ask which is a first for any hotel we have stayed in. Would stay again.
Sightseeing, drove to Brugges
nothing not up to standard of other hotels for same price in the area
We were 12 of us and all extremely happy about the hotel. It was basic but very clean, very confortable and very well located. Moreover the staff was very nice and very helpfull. Breakfast was great too. Really A+++, we'll come back! No. Maybe tea or coffee in the room would be good.
The staff were very helpful and very polite and friendly Breakfast was very poor. Breakfast room far too small for number guests. Standard of cleaning was very poor. Litter was on the staircase on our first day or arrival and still there 3 days later when we left.
The staff were exceptional. The location was superb great for shopping. The 24 hour desk was good. The bathroom was so small i had bruising on my body from bending around the sink to wash and pee.
Location, in the centre of Lille, and parking available for 12€ The room was at the 7th floor, the last one under the room, there was a feeling that the space should normally not have been used for a bedroom, there were humidity spots on the roof. The pilows were ok but the matras was deeper in its middle than on the sides. Breakfast was served until 10 am only (on week-end they should be more flexible). I wouldn't mind all this for 70/80€ a night but not for 127€ a night ! But as I said, our room was on the last floor under the roof, maybe other rooms are better.
Location was convenient for the City centre. Very convenient car parking Grumpy and unhelpful night staff. Getting two more pillows, which we had already arranged with the day staff, was not organised and the night porter was surly. Bathroom smelled of drains. Tiny lift which only serves 6 of the 7 floors.
the quality and the peace and quiet of the hotel
close to the train station.
Convenience to eurostar Renovation
Location and staff
Central Location & the room facilities of having 3 single beds Lack of Parking Facilities for unloading and during the stay - Plenty of Centre Car Parks but wasn't expecting the extra cost and the walk between with luggage was not much fun! Lack of Tea & Coffee making facilities - but I guess that's common in Europe (we're just so British!)
Convenience of location
hotel stuff nothing special
ease of access, very friendly staff, good location
Staff were extremely helpful, and breakfasts were excellent, with very attentive service. The lifts were all we needed to get our bags upstairs without too much difficulty. The location was excellent for us, very near the train stations and close to the opera house.
Convenience of local shops and restaurants. Locality of railway station. The bath was too short. Room was fairly small. Noise outside at night was very loud when windows were shut.
the friendleness, the cleanliness, the location we would have liked kettle with tea/coffee in room
Hotel in very good location breakfast is very small for its price, is better go eat outside
the hotel is perfect situated for people who want to visit Lille by train and want to go shopping and walking in the centre of the town!
The location was amazing. Staff very accommodating and the hotel was of a good standard. Brilliant value for money. Parking was rubbish. Cost us 28 euros for two days as we had to park in the public car park. I suggest leaving the car at home.
Excellent location and fair price. Overall a good solution for a weekend in Lille
Good size room, welcoming Toilet was broken away from wall (an unnerving experience!), No Wi-Fi
open all hours no problem getting late at night no
Very convenient location between Eurostar station and city centre/Vieille Ville. Pleasant, friendly, helpful staff.
Excellent location, literally a stone's throw from the Lille mainland station and only 500 metres from the Lille Europe. Could not have asked for a more central hotel. Room was clean and as described - let's be honest, you are not going to be spending much time in the room in Lille!! Staff were very helpful and spoke great English.
The staff were very friendly, nothing was to much for them. The rooms we had were very clean and comfortable, and an excellent location for .sightseeing in LIlle. Would definately go there again.
Helpful staff. Attractive decor. Bathroom very clean. Uncomfortable mattress.
No wifi operating in the room, despite indications that it is available.very old and poorly maintained hotel.
The location was ideal for a Tourist - a good mix of fine restaurants nearby. Good front window outlook on quiet street. None.
Very helpful staff Our bedroom, on the top floor, was very hot.
The comfortable seating areas on each floor. Before arriving, the hotel willingly emailed answers to my questions and gave us rooms overlooking the courtyard rather than the street. No, th three of us were happy with everything.
Very handy for the Christmas fair. Paid parking close. Nothing
Warm welcome. Clean, comfortable and warm room. Location close to city centre and Grand Palais. Mosquito bits whilst in room at night
A great find in Lille - I will be back! Free wifi, a bath, a quiet and good-sized room were all good points. This hotel had everything I needed for my business trip, while being charming and unique. It is in a great location a short walk from Lille Flandres and Lille Europe stations and from the pedestrian city centre. I brought my own kettle to make tea as I had noted this is not supplied from previous reviews. Great hotel, will return. Bring your own travel-kettle etc if you require tea/coffee-making facilities.
Pictures on the walls; comfortable room and obliging staff.
Very good value for money! Rooms are nice and clean, only "minus" there was no heather in the bathroom. Hotel is located in the very town centre close to both stations, shops, bars and restaurants. I would definitely go back back should I go to Lille again...
Location, friendly staffs (receptions as weell as bar staffs) Shower was a bit too small but we should not have expected more for the budget
The location was excellent and easy for access to the 2 train stations
Pleasant staff, arrived early and room was made ready in 20 min. Central and close to metro. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and soap and shampoo. No wardrobe, lived out of my suitcase. A few wire hangers from the tv stand for hanging clothes. The cost of a single is the same as a double room. Tho this seems to be general in France.
Clean bed linen and towels Bathroom a safety hazard . steps to bath and toilet on slippy tiles. Very badly finished walls. Very dimly lit. No personal facilities in room, I.e:- no coffee or tea facilities, no hairdryer. No chairs no bedside cabinet.
Location of the hotel.( Providing you do not mind noise ) a la carte food was excellent. Staff very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was poor. Bathroom was freezing due to a large gap below the window, and was almost unbearable to use.
The room was cleaned and fresh linen provided daily. All the staff were helpful and attentive, The restaurant has an interesting menu well prepared and presented. Very quiet and little road noise. Nothing serious will be pleased when all the refurbishment is finished
It's too bad. Nothing is worthwhile except for the location of the hotel. Noisy all the night, smelly, facility is awful
Good location, good breakfast, comfortable room, reasonable soundproofing The smell from the drains was dreadful in the room and generally in the corridors, was only bearable with bathroom door kept closed and windows left open whilst occupied
Very conveniently located in town centre
Good situation, helpful staff. Bed was a bit hard - very noisy outside at night - perhaps triple glazing might help?
basic, good location and value for money Inside of windows/woodwork and skirting borad very dirty. Bed cover a bit grubby, but sheets clean. Can't see why these cant be cleaned, it lets the room down
Location was fantastic - great for visiting the Christmas markets! Unfortunately you need to pay for lockets to secure your luggage if you're leaving Lille a few hours after check out.
The rooms, hallways, & elevator all smelled of damp/mould/something awful. We thought it may have just been our room at first but we had several friends who reported similar odour problems and they were staying on different floors/locations within the hotel. Also, only one towel was provided for a double bedroom. A request for a second towel for our second night of accomodation went unfulfilled by housekeeping. Again, friends had the same problem with only one bath towel being provided for a double room. The rooms are small but functional and reasonable for the price but for the reasons above I would not recommend this hotel.
The location Extremely small room. No parking at all and nearby parking very expensive - would be good for train travellers though.
The location: very near the train station!! quite impressive!!
friendly staff, central location
Very central. Within walking distance of several sights and a wide selection of good restaurants Bed was a bit uncomfortable
very helpful reception staff. Small but very clean and comfortable rooms
The staff were very helpful and welcoming. It was in a central location to the old city of Lille - easy access from trains aswell. Quite acceptable for a nice weekend break with clean room and showers. The hallway is very noisy along with the stairs - all wooden with carpet. The staff start at 6am and talk in the hallways which wakes you up.Suggest coffee & tea making facilities in the room and if possible bar facility in the lobby as it lends itself to this.
The location was excellent and the breakfasts were good value when compared with buying breakfast at local cafes. The staff were very pleasant and always cheerful at the reception desk. The shower was very poor- the bathroom looked swish but the shower splash went all over the floor which meant that we had to use a bath towel to\mop up as well as the bath mat. Very lumpy pillows.
The owners of this hotel have hone through great lengths to restore their property, but it remains an old building. This has also its charms: the elevator in itself is almost worth the visit, the doors of the rooms are of a lovely old type etc. But... rooms are rather small with pretty small beds, there was a strong odour from the shower once the cover of the drain was removed etc. Want a flasback to the house of your grandparents, this is the place! And of course location in regards to the city center could not be better, parking within 150 mtrs.
Helpfulness and friendliness of staff
The location of this hotel is fantastic, perfectly placed for shopping, sightseeing and both railway stations.
The character of the hotel and its location. The stair carpets were pretty seedy. We would have preferred a room on the front rather than one with a view of the admittedly elegant fire-escape
Fantastic location. Old world charm but with just enough modernity
