Very quiet location but luckily close to the main tourist area with plenty of excellent restaurants, harbour only a few minutes' walk way. The garden and pool are very beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. The antique buildings are nicely restored and renovated, decorated with attention to the detail. As the hotel is small and the grounds are rather extensive we have enjoyed lots of privacy. Beds are very comfortable, the windows have shutters. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the receptionists were able to communicate in English or French!!!!! Very seldom to find in Brazil!!!!! For us Paraty is the most beautiful small town of Brazil, the bays, the ocean and the mountains are unique.

I am afraid there is nothing they could do about in beautiful Paraty: as the town is on sea level there are problems with flooding on rainy days, which has also an impact on the walls of the antique buidings, the walls get damp and generate an unpleasant smell. However, on dry days the smell disappears quickly and completely. One thing I did not like was that the floors of the room and bathroom were made of antique cobblestone, very difficult to keep clean and unpleasant to walk barefoot. As cobblestone is very typical for the old town of wonderful Paraty I assume the original floors of cobblestone remained that way in order to keep in line with the antique original structure of Paraty.
