Pros: The hotel has a really cool vibe and great decor. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and modern with quirky touches. The staff were super friendly and helpful, they gave us tips on where to go out and eat and were accommodating on every level. I accidentally left my work phone in my room after checking out and they swiftly retrieved it and posted it to me. All round great experience, will definitely be staying again if I come back to Dusseldorf!

The room was not extremely large, but very comfortable, clean and elegantly designed - a combination of japanese fung shui and hipster urban elements. Bathroom was very clean, shower excellent, beds dito. We had a great breakfast in the morning (you can eat till noon), and a beautiful view from the 11th floor. The breakfast offers lots of choice in breads, spreads, and hot and cold items. Interestingly, the hotel aims to engage its guests, but also locals, as well as possible passers by organizing activities in the lobby and other areas of the hotel.

Pros: We stayed at the hotel for one night, and were entirely satisfied. The room is not big but clean. The bath on balcony was a real surprise. After a busy day it is very pleasant to take a bath on the fresh air. The staff is young and very friendly. Marcel who works at the front desk made our stay at the hotel and in Düsseldorf nice and interesting with his smile and some useful advise. Thank you Marcel!

Cons: Nothing in particular. We only stayed one night and did not have breakfast so can't say a lot on any of the other services of the hotel. Location is maybe not most central (but one train station away from Düsseldorf Hbf (Main Station)) and when we were looking for something to eat late at night when we arrived it was quite a long walk into the old twon to find some places which are still open.

Cons: There was no wardrobe in the room. Unpacking your suitcase and hanging something-up is not really an option. No curtains on the windows, which guests may prefer to darken the room at nights a bit - privacy is not really an issue.

Cons: Where shall I start.... First of all - it was impossible to get in touch with reception via phone. I was waiting for somebody to pick up the phone exactly 3 times - for 3-4min each. 4th time I was lucky and somebody picked up the phone - I just wanted to get information about parking as it's not at the same building, so it was impossible to find without calling. We were driving around the block till I got somebody on the line. Second - room wasn't as stated in the pictures it was super small, even the shower was really tiny (we stayed at the 10th floor). It's stated that superior rooms has wardrobe - well we haven't found it. Not even a space/bench for your suitcase. Bed was not large at all - my boyfriend had his legs out all night. Third - toilet wasn't cleaned properly. When it's all black - you can see stains clearly which was gross.

Cons: From the booking website I had the impression the hotel is closer to the city Centre than it is. I had a Thai soup in the restaurant and I am pretty sure it was from a can. I think you should not offer this is the menu if you don’t cook it there.

Cons: The house keeping service was very bad, surprisingly a group of 5-6 workers came at once to clean within 3 minutes. They don’t even clean the room properly !!! Also on a rainy day we didn’t leave the room in the morning so they came asking us to leave the room or else they will clean it the next day. This was so ridiculous. I didn’t like even the fact no connecting rooms and also the size was very small.

Pros: I really liked the bathroom. I’m 6‘1 and i have never had a sink I didn’t have to bend down to. This Holiday Inn Express has sinks at least 110cm high. I loved it. Besides that, the bathroom was overall pretty nice. Good sized walk in shower with large soap rack, so I could easily fit my shampoo, conditioner and shower gel on it with. Somebody must have actually thought about it. Really great. The entire room was air conditioned and at a comfortable setting at arrival. The bed was just right with even a good sized blanket. Overall really a nice room.

Cons: We arrived late at passed 10pm and the parking garage was full. The public parking garage next door had closed for the night and there were only a few public parking spots at the street available. These however had a „do not park“ starting at 7am. So before breakfast I had to move the car to the then reopened public parking garage. At arrival stuck in the street I called the front desk and the night manager was not to concerned to offer me any assistance. She actually send me on a pretty wild goose chase even further downtown stating there would be more parking garages somewhere on the road. After realizing we would have to walk with our luggage for 25 minutes we went back to the hotel to find an open spot nearby.

Pros: The hotel is located in a quiet part of town, but close to the train station and japanese district. Bit further from the main shopping street and old town, but even then, just a 20 min walk. The room was very clean and spacious and comfortable. We didn't hear anyone through the walls. Breakfast was nice and plenty. The japanese part of breakfast was lacking a little bit, but that might have been due to taking it on a sunday. (eg: it was mainly rice, miso soup, and bowls with tofu.) All in all, the hotel was good value for money and I would recommend it.

Cons: At first my air con was not working the receptionist told me she’ll bring the air con (electric fan) and said sorry I can’t do anything, can’t change your room. It’s super hot in the room. I went down and found different group of receptionist and told the guy receptionist my issue since the air con won’t be resolve I want to check out and not penalized when the other guy overheard my dilemma he immediately said “change the room”. After that I have no further issues and the lady who told me she can’t changed my room was flabbergasted when she found out later my room was changed. She’s lazy to do the extra miles sad to say she lied that she can’t change room knowing that there’s room available Not acceptable customer service Parking!!! It’s not advisable very Limited parking space if I’m not mistaken I saw only 2 spots and €15/night

Pros: Loved the location. My son loves sushi and this street was sushi heaven. The hotel room was also very comfortable. The breakfast was great.
Cons: When I got there they informed me that there would be an up charge because the room they had for me did not accommodate the number of people on my reservation. Am still trying to figure out if I paid twice for the room There is also no concierge and the staff is not overly friendly. However, they are very competent and pointed us in the right direction to get the information we needed.

Pros: There was a small parking place available at an extra cost. The breakfast was provided in the 2 different types: Japanese and Western. The location is actually quite nice. Many restaurants are in walking distance. And if you have enough time, you can walk to the river area. This hotel is quite old but well-managed. You may be able to feel some 60s-80s German feeling in this building which was quite exotic. The receptionists are really kind.

Cons: There is no bar and no proper bar in/near the hotel. There are a bunch of restaurants but they are not bars/pubs. In fact, there is not many bar in this area. So it may be not their fault. Even it is in the centre of the town, I felt I was quite isolated from the rest of the town. But you may like it if you like to hide from the large crowd.

Cons: Hotel decor is very old and needing upgrade. The carpet has worn off and need replacing. Otherwise, overall the room itself is clean. No air conditioning so may not be appropriate for summer stay. But we were given a fan and the balcony door and window can be opened fully. We only stayed for 1 night to catch early morning train.

Pros: The location of this hotel is great if your using the dusseldorf train station and buses. It's only a 10 minute walk or so from the main station which is real good, and pretty easy to find , but the hotel isn't noticeable on the main street, it's located just off the main street in off street location. They have have good reception and lobby area, the staff/ personnel were very welcoming and professional upon my arrival and departure and will show good ambition to help you if need be. The room, was good , very spacious, a long size bed and a mini bar ( which their is a fee for to use), the hall ways in the hotel do look abit out dated, but the rooms are spacious, and have everything you need in the bathroom. Their is a buffet breakfast in the restaurant every morning ( which i didn't try) , and they offer a 24hr sauna if you need to relax more. It's great if your in dusseldorf for a few days , their is plenty of shops/ restaurants/ bars in the area ( alot of Japanese restaurants I found out), and I think all this compensate for the hotel not having a restaurant in the evening hours. It's a good hotel to use to get to and from the dusseldorf main train station and the bus/ tram terminal is very close by too. Their is a small bar adjacent to the reception area, which only do drinks, which is a good option in my opinion.

Cons: The only issues I noticed with the hotel is firstly , the restaurant only serves breakfast, but is not open later on throughout the evening. I would have expected this from a 4 star hotel, but their is plenty of other restaurants/ fast food places very close to the hotel. It's situated just away from one of the main roads / streets in central dusseldorf, you don't hear much of the traffic, but it's just off the main road on one of the side streets , so if your on that side of the hotel , you'll hear quite abit of noise from outside, passers by, construction workers etc, it can get quite noisy during the evening and night.

The mattress of the one bed was not as good as the other one, which created a difference when merging both beds together. All in one, I wouldn't recommend this hotel during summer or for more than 1 night

Cons: The room we were given smelled very strongly of cigarette. We immediately complained but the only member of staff there at the time told us the hotel was fully booked for the night so we couldn't switch rooms. He said he'd get back to me once he spoke with the owner, but he never contacted me, neither by phone or by knocking on our room. We ended up sleeping with the windows open, but the smell was still there throughout the night. The air in the hall was much cleaner than that of the room. You get what you pay, I guess.

Cons: When we booked, we were not asked if we wanted a breakfast included. In every single hotel we were the days before, all breakfasts were included, so we forgot that in this one it wasn't the case. The asian girl in charge of cleaning the dining room waited for us to start our breakfast to ask for our "breakfast card". Obviously we didn't have it. So she became VERY UNFRIENDLY, asked for our room keycard and went to the reception desk. When she went back, she just gave us our keycard back, without a word or even a smile. We would have appreciated a request for this breakfast card BEFORE we entered the room. We felt like we were trapped, after feeling that we committed a crime. Too bad, so far it had been a very pleasant stay.

Cons: The place seems rather dated. Some of the staff seems to hold only a tentative grasp of both German and English. We encountered several printouts of information for guests, where the german was bad but understandable, but the english versions would make no sense at all to english speakers whatsoever. This gives a rather unprofessional vibe.

Had to sleep with the windows closed (in june) because it smelled like smoke from outside. Not the hotels fault, but it did make the stay less enjoyable since it was so warm
