Farmhouse Suite: A lofty 65m2 peaceful room, with a sleeping and living area. The sleeping area has a comfortable double bed, a shower and a wash basin. The living area has a sofa, TV/DVD set, a sofa bed (for 2 extra people/children), a dining table, and a refrigerator. The room is on the first floor; your private toilet is on the ground floor. The room offers a great view over the surrounding farmland. The House: A beautifully reconstructed former farm with a large garden, just 10 minutes from Amsterdam City centre. The house is located in Ransdorp, a typical Dutch village with characteristic wooden houses set around a monumental tower; where circa 1645 Rembrandt made many drawings. The town is called the 'Garden of Amsterdam'. The Location Waterland: Ransdorp is one of the most authentic places in the vicinity of Amsterdam, yet only a 20 minute bike ride from the centre. The village of Ransdorp is a protected site. The environment, named Waterland, is also largely protected as a wild life sanctuary and farmland. The unique flat landscape is currently the largest reserve for brooding meadow birds in Europe. The Activities: Our well located country Studio makes it easy for you to visit the busy city centre of Amsterdam with its many museums, The Anne Frank House, shops, red light district, bars, restaurants and canals. However, you can also just want to enjoy the tranquility of Waterland: taking our bicycles or boat that will take you through country site roads, lakes, outstretched meadows, polder landscape, and picturesque villages with wooden houses and farms. You can also visit traditional cattle farms and biological cheese farms. Or you can just relax in our garden and enjoy the amazingly panoramic view. Bus/tram tickets plus information on everyday activities are also available. The Hosts: We are sure you will enjoy staying here as much as we enjoy living here. My husband and I have ourselves travelled extensively and have tried to learn through our good experiences as well as from our bad ones. We like to mix intimacy with good service and the freedom to enjoy, what is for us, a wonderful place to be yourself.
