Pros: Wonderful, friendly and helpful service from everyone there: especially Carlos, Martin, Jesus and Miguel. If your Spanish isn't great (mine certainly isn't), that is not a problem; their English is very good. The hotel is a little bit of heaven: only 30 rooms but with a good restaurant, bar with a great view over the bay, lush landscaping, lovely pool (with wait staff) plus the hotel is right on the beach. There's even a spa for massages, mani pedi etc. If you like excellent service in a small hotel with unbelievable value in an authentic Mexican fishing town (warts and all) that has lots of very good restaurants (from basic, inexpensive Mexican to fancy expensive international) this is the spot for you. If you want a huge, flashy, sterile hotel with lots of nightlife, multiple pools and lots of people eating and drinking all they can, then please go to Cancun.

Pros: Located right in middle of the bay on the best beach! We were greeted with ice cold beer and cool towels at check in desk. Our room was fabulous, tropical decor beautiful

Pros: Honestly, what's not to like? Every room has an amazing view. We loved the hammock on our patio and our private jacuzzi. Bistro Del Mar is one of the best restaurants in the city. The beach is amazing. Every beach in Zihua offers something different, and they're all worth visiting, but Playa Madera is great as a home base. There's also a very sweet black dog who lives down there. Buy him a burger if you see him. Rosalba at the front desk is really nice and helpful. Jesus, who works in the restaurant and sunset bar, is friendly and has good recommendations.

Pros: This is a boutique hotel in great setting, and with meticulously planned and maintained lash tropical like design of the premises with great views of the town and bay. Room was equipped with king bed, sofa, large balcony had jet tub, two chase lounges, 2 chairs with coffee table and a sun umbrella. The view was great! The hotel has good restaurant on the beach; we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast there.

Pros: I really loved the view, the size and the amenities. It was only a short walk to town. This side of the bay seems more for local tourists, though there were some gringos around as well. A/C was cold, kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom all good!

Pros: We have been staying at Villa Mexicana for over fifteen years. And this year it just seemed exceptionally good. The front desk staff lead by Eloisa is incredible and very helpful. The restaurant was good; both food and staff. And our room was delightful. It is obvious that the owners/management of the hotel have been making some improvements to the property. So far, so good! Just don't make too many changes! A very enjoyable long vacation.

Pros: +The location is excellent. You are right on the beach, a lovely, safe beach. The bed was comfortable and had a generous supply of pillows. I ate a breakfast at their restaurant, Dona Prudencia, and it was lovely and had good food.

Pros: Breakfast was more than I expected. The portions were sizable. The location was fantastic. Unless we went to town, we never had to wear shoes and were steps away from everything we needed. We felt safe and well taken care of.

Pros: Great location in the beach and you can sit in the pool and watch the ocean. Quiet this years and it was the 3rd time we came. Great value! Clean! Beds are hard thou so drink lots of margaritas before retiring. Taxis on hand 24hrs. Walk to town it pay $50pesos great restaurants within walking distance or stay at the hotel. All great in zihuatanejo!

Pros: The hotel is located next to the market and is within easy walking distance to beaches & restaurants very clean and well run.Those looking for a more Mexican cultrual immersion will be happy with the location.As a single male traveller in my late 60's I walked back from beach restaurants and friends later at night or all times of day and always felt completely safe.

Pros: Close to Playa Ropa and La Perla one of my go to places. Easy access and secure parking. The attendants were very hospitable. Never got to use the pool but it looked inviting. There is a covered patio area with tables and chairs. Also a communal fridge and several burners to cook food. The WiFi worked well.

Pros: Hotel JB is not the Ritz and does not pretend to be - Hotel JB is a basic hotel - within easy walking distance to Playa La Ropa. The room was comfortable, the pool clean and relaxing, the surroundings safe and secure, a mix of good patrons and excellent staff.

Pros: The owner Christian was helpful, accommodating, and funny gentlemen. He also has good knowledge of Zihuatanejo. The hotel small with only 13 rooms so you get to meet other travelers. It is a really safe hotel with a night person manning the door. It is short walk ( 1 1/2 blocks from where the central zone starts ) and 15 mins to Playa Principle and the Pier.

Pros: It's a small family hotel. I felt very comfortable. The location is great, in walking distance of everything... and you can catch a bus just outside the door if you want to explore further afield.

Pros: Christian, the Manager was an excellent host. He was a constant source of information. Most helpful. Good humour. His family is all wonderful with Brandon seeming to show up when needed. Most of the occupants are good down home folks, mostly Canadians and Americans, enjoying a comfortable stay in a basic but clean hotel. Excellent value.

Pros: Paz, our room attendant, was very pleasant, going out of her way to respond to our requests. She was always smiling and very pleasant. Evening clerk (I forget his name) was very helpful and patient in helping me with printing our boarding passes. Staff int he restaurant were always pleasant, smiling and engaging at breakfast time. The breakfast itself was varied (although mostly mexican) and the food was very good. The pool was very nice and quiet, except on week-ends. Grounds well-maintained. Large shower. New A/C worked very well. This is a very small hotel (approx. 30 rooms), quiet and has a home away from home feeling. It is within easy walking distance to the beach, to downtown, to water-taxi and excursions booths. Many vendors, offering their wares, set up along the boardwalk to downtown.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff and loved the location, close(about a block) easy, safe walk to beach, on cobblestone street. Beach has food and beverage available, chairs with umbrellas at those restaurants. Nice beach front walk to other areas(fishing pier, restaurants and shopping) and way to downtown. Free breakfast, air conditioning, clean rooms, great shower, open sitting area overlooking the pool, outside of each room with comfy furniture. Could use the Sun and Moon pool(across the street)overlooking the ocean, if wanted, the Zihua Caracol had a nice pool. Same owners. 2nd stay and will stay again, miss it already.

Pros: The breakfast included with the meal is fantastic- lots of choice of eggs done any style , pancakes, Mexican style. Nice that we could use the pool at the sister hotel Casa sun and Moon on the ocean. Our pool was nice and refreshing. Drinking water is available outside rooms so be prepared with your own bottle to fill.

Pros: Nice property with decent sized rooms. Good pool area with pool towels provided. Good typical breakfast a la carte. Very close to the beach. The location on booking.com isn't actually correct - the hotel is the other size of the canal a 10min walk away from the centre, at Playa La Madera.
