Pros: The staff were friendly and were largely fluent in English. The location was great, only a 5-10 minute walk to restaurants and parks. The wifi was strong throughout the hotel, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The rooftop bar was very nice but wasn't open on the weekend which was a disappointment. Really good quality for the price.
Cons: The pool is in the basement which was a mistake on our end, some old/incorrect pictures showed it as a rooftop pool which made spending a day at the pool impossible. Water in the room is outrageously expensive, $10/bottle! The shower/tub combo was a bit uncomfortable - I'm very average size and it was too narrow to stand shoulder width. The room was starting to show some signs of age but still a very good value.

Pros: Nice Breakfast! Great location.
Cons: In my particular room, the bed was quite old and saggy. That was not the case with the beds in my friend’s room. The shower drain was also clogged... again, not the case in the other room.

Cons: Hard bed and even harder pillows. A noisy AC unit that will not cool down the room in a summer month. Mold in the bathroom walls (between the tiles), inconsistent water pressure (so be aware of hot/cold surprises when showering) The room furniture was not designed for the size of the room (or it looked like) Only one small closet (similar to an individual room) for a cuádruple room (equivalent to two rooms) and no drawers or any other place where to place your stuff.

Pros: The staff -- several of whom spoke good English -- were very friendly and forgave us our poor Spanish. They were patient with us when we tried to pay with a Discover card (not accepted much in Chile) and had to use another. The manager (or at least the one on duty when we were there) also helped us with a suggestion about which bus to use to get to Valparaiso the day we checked out. Another gentleman kindly retrieved us from the lobby and told us as much as he was able in English about the area. We loved our loft room. The place was clean and comfortable, including and especially the bathroom. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to a friend.
Cons: It was a bit confusing to find -- the address belongs to more than one operation, it seems, and the man behind the desk right inside the front door did not speak English and had to call someone else to come get us. (He was, at least, able to nod when we said "Amistar Apartments" and motioned for us to wait for someone to help us.)

Cons: Very noisy hotel .Walls and doors are paper thin. If you are unlucky enough to get a room on the first floor , you will hear the lobby front door slamming all the time , people talking in the front desk ,people chatting in the hallway and the traffic outside .
