Wonderful stay at Porta Azul
Pedro & Marta are incredible hosts. On check-in, one of them puts you through "Porto school", where they use tablet photos and a map to help orient you to their beautiful city. The building is old but very well maintained. We were a little concerned that the windows on the street would be noisy, but it wasn't a problem at all. The back garden is a nice touch, a great place to relax after a day of walking the city. Breakfast was varied and tasty, and it was fun comparing travel tips with the other guests. The room was large and the bed comfortable. Good location across the street from Crystal Palace Park. On our last morning, when we had to leave before breakfast to catch our train, Marta packed up some sandwiches for us; the note on the bag cutely said, "The blue door (Porta Azul) is Always Open!"
With a stay at Porta Azul Guest House, you'll be centrally located in Porto, within a 10-minute walk of Soares dos Reis National Museum and Romantico Museum. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and coffee/tea in a common area.
