the outside looked nice and i'm sure some rooms are nicer than the one we booked. the furnishings in our room were tatty with chips stained and cracked. we ended up with lots of bites from the bed. thought it was a bit overpriced for the industrial area it is situated and the room itself. only stayed one nite of the three.
A dream resort. No lift for the upper floors
well appointed cottage offered relaxing surroundings; recption staff were very helpful with excursion bookings Dreadful liaison between hotel and restaurant; latter did not understand the package we were on, leading to embarrassing arguments about a dinner bill. I particularly objected to being cross-questioned about which member of staff had given me what information; I do not ask the names; I do expect to be trusted.
rooms are very intime and romantic; the restaurant is really excellent; property is very well maintained and managed, in a beautiful environment. Rooms are a little small (but really just a bit)
Really nice, it was a good surprise to get a small house (2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room) for the price of a comfortable room.
It was all good
the location and excellent room for 3 people. we were there over a long weekend and their feature Japanese restuarant was closed!!
Proximity to city centre. Room facilities. Helpful staff in breakfast room. Availability of parking. Large fee for late checkout. Glass shower screens leak causing water to pool on bathroom floor.
I liked our dinner at Miyazu Teppan Yaki Restaurant. Our Chef was from Phillipines (Alvin?) (sorry I can't recall his name) but he was really friendly and gave us a great experience.
It provided a great "home base" for our stay in Nelson - good location, comfortable, good facilities, helpful (mostly) staff. We had to go to the Visitors' Centre to arrange an afternoon arts and wine tour. Restaurant menu a bit limited.
the convienence of the accommodation - we could walk everywhere - also very clean and friendly
Central location Front of office did not make eye contact with the people waiting to be served at check out time. An acknowlegement "I will be with you soon" makes clients feel that they are at least in the system.
The complimentary dressing gowns. Poor quality buffet breakfast. One view was enough to move us to other providers close by in town.
The convenience - close proximity to shops, cafes, etc. Only one bathrobe in room; difficulty of filling jug from bathroom tap.
The recognition of having stayed before and the personalised message and gift. Quiet, warm and comfortable.
if you have to stay at this hotel, request a room with a view of the church. Also, the hotel was clean and had nice shampoo. In the 2 weeks that we spent traveling throughout NZ, we have had wonderful accommodations with the Rutherford being the exception. This hotel does not belong in the luxury category, although by the decor and age of the bedspread (yes, I said bedspread) and bed linens perhaps it once was. The lobby is stale and lifeless even in high season. Customer service was poor. And the very worst part, THEY RATION WIFI DATA!! Good luck browsing the internet to plan your activities, email friends and family back home or share your photos on social media!!
The concierge/front desk helped us plan a cruise/ tour of Abel Tasman N. Park which was the highlight of our trip to nz. Great last minute planning. There was no room safe.
The room was big enough to be an apartment with a fully operational kitchen. It was the nicest accommodation on our month long trip to Australia and New Zealand. The innkeepers were very nice and helpful and welcoming. Very good value for the money.
The accommodations were great. The room was clean and everything worked. But what makes this property shine is the staff. The reception desk was extremely helpful. Even loaning us towels for the beach after we checked out! I would gladly stay here again.
Very clean, spacious, quality fittings. Good central city location. Pleasant helpful reception.
I enjoyed my stay at the Arcadia, the service was excellent. They helped me find activities to do in the area, and helped me booking those activities. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
The room was great- large and had a well-equipped kitchen. There was also a carport for our car. The owners were very friendly.
We did enjoy our stay very much, was perfect
Free internet connection
This Motel was very good value for money. It was everything we needed for a short stay in Nelson. The owner was very friendly and eager to be of help and the rooms spacious. A little dated but this didn't bother us as it was perfectly clean. 5 minute drive (20 minute walk) from Nelson Town but again we had our car so was not a big issue.
