Pros: Charming hotel that made us feel as if we were staying in a private villa of wealthy friends. Spacious rooms furnished to a high standard with a spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower. Large comfortable bed with stylish sofa and a wooden floor accentuated class. Great staff especially Sylvana and Violeta in reception and Jose Louis and Alberto in the restaurant. We also enjoyed dining in the restaurant that served high quality food at very reasonable prices.

Pros: Our trip was AWESOME , hotel is BEAUTIFUL pool is warm, food is amazing and they have the local craft Allende beer which is soo good. would i stay here again ,, YES One thing.. our air conditioning in the room was horrible it smelled SOO BAD, we basically spent the whole time with windows and doors open, which is not bad cause the natural air is good. We complained on the 1st day and nothing happened 2nd day we waited and hit town came back and still nothing happened 3rd day called 2 x and nothing finally fustrated with the fact, walked down to reception and asked them to please help with the air.. Maintenance finally came out to the room tried fixing it , couldnt figure it out ask if we wanted to change rooms but we agreed to stay with the expection they bring out a fan so they did Besides that mess it was beautiful , i would recommend them to fix the air in that room :) thank u for all the attention again its a beautiful hotel!!

Cons: The Jacuzzi tub was broken and never heard why Itwas never fixed. Plugs in the bathroom didn't work. I told them and they never fixed them. I was there a week. I you tried to call room service, phone never rang.you would have to call the desk and have room service call back. Room service menu was no good. They never provided a current one. Went to the spa and booked a hot rock message. On arrival to Spa was told they had no hot Rock? What! Its a great hotel but not 5 star.

Cons: The building amplifies all the noises. I am not a light sleeper and i was woken up by television in room above, and people talking on floors below. Don’t pay extra for balcony, too noisy. Upgraded room not worth the money, inside room quieter and much less money.

Cons: The breakfast was really bad. Our toilet was broken and we had to take off the lid and pull up the chain in order to flush. Wifi was spotty at best. The room could have benefited from a ceiling fan as there was no air conditioning (which I don't really care about) and the standing fan was inadequate against the heat. The terrace was lovely but hot, and smelled of detergent. There was no drink service, no ice, or refrigeration, so while we were invited to take our own beverages upstairs, that was not a realistic option.

Cons: During festive events, roads are closed so taxis won't be able to stop at the street and you would need to lug your luggage down stairs. There was no proper desk in the room. The city tour sold through the receptionist stops at 2 cheesy tourist traps which I did not enjoy - think torture chamber (Museo ex hacienda del cochero) and haunted house (Casa de Lamentos) - the price is cheap as it does not include admission fees, which was not stated upfront. It also stopped at 2 jewellery shops which I could have done without. The tour advertised that it was going to the mummy museum but it did not (we went to the hacienda del cochero instead), so that was misleading. Kids and locals seemed to enjoy it though, but it wasn't my cup of tea.

Cons: Basically this hotel is way overpriced for what you get. The hotel is rundown, it needs a lot of maintenance and upgrading. The rooms are tacky. They may have been nice 15 years ago but they have done nothing to make anything modern. The bathrooms are tiny and the towels aren’t soft, they’re old and the robes provided were stained. The pool area has rust and the wooden deck by the pool has warped and needs to be replaced. There are much nicer hotels which we really regretted not booking then instead. :( it was our anniversary which made it even worse.

Cons: At night is noisy area, ask for a room as deep in the hotel as you can, away from the front street. We didn't have a problem with the noise because we stay up late at the bars, but if you go to bed early can be a problem. Get a pair of ear plugs just in case.

I had my own terrace, and Laura made sure every inch of was spotless. I cannot thank Ulysses enough for all his help on making sure I was comfortable and that I got to see all the beautiful sights in the city. He even made sure I was picked up at the hotel and driven to the airport without me stressing out about taking a taxi or uber, and arranged for a reliable driver to get me to the airport. Cons: We Had 3 rooms. one in Good conditions, the second one with a lique at the air conditioner that was droping the water in the carpet, we asked to fix it and they never did.
Those 2 rooms were in a new building at the 5fth floor
The third Room was at the end of a long corridor in an old building, and had a lot of problems like they did not had light at the shower, the air condinioner was not working and the key did not work correctly.
We asked to repair and they did after 2 days.

Staff didn't have key to laundry. Lady took a bus back to hotel and delivered one shirt. The other is gone for good. This is unacceptable. Additionally, parking problem should be advertise with options upon arrival. It was a nightmare. The staff were very kind and actually went with us in our car to show us where to park.

So, we ask for another room but they said nothing available. ...and no refund. We removed our luggage and asked them for management to speak with but they said they are unavailable at the moment. We called the police for help and even showed the police our room shower and he realized water is not hot enough...and he maid a report for us and we left hotel and back to our city again......very bad experience for my family vacation yesterday.

Cons: The only thing is that it isn't walking distance from the city center, but if you have a car it won't be a big issue.

Cons: Very noisy during our stay, it was saturday 21st of September and my sons birthday the following day. We werent able to sleep nor relax as the music was too loud and noisy! I booked this hotel because it says the pool is heated but its so darn cold and when I asked the reception they insisted its 27degrees but its far colder than that! I wished she jumped into the pool and check it herself as it was freezing. The elevator is too far as you have to climb stairs before you can use it. The breakfast buffet is terrible, very bad taste and cold and very low quality. They were preparing the menudo soup past the breakfast time when it should be ready for guests who wants to start their day early!

Cons: The only problem was that they didn´t have enough tables to sit around the pool. There were only 3 tables and the pool was full. The bathroom and the room could use some renovations, the carpet had stains and the shower curtain was a little old.

Cons: The room didn’t have a hairdryer as listed in the facilities. When we asked, we were given one with a European plug. After we asked for a Mexican one they said they would send one and it never arrived. They took a deposit from my card without my consent and still have not refunded it.

Cons: I am sorry to complain but my room/ bathroom smelled terrible. The room smelled like rotting fruit/vegetables and the bathroom smelled of sewage. There was an air freshener in the room which could not mask the other odours. There was no hot water for a shower even though the tap was a hot water tap. . .it never heated up. There was a pipe behind the toilet which leaked so the floor behind the toilet was wet, adding to the smell. On none of the four days was any coffee available ( from 8–9) for breakfast.

Cons: 1. Difficult to find -gps had us across town. Tried calling but no answer. Finally looked up pictures of it to be able to spot it from across town after driving in circles. 2. Impossible parking. A very steep ramp up and down -manual car stalled trying to get up. Gave up and parked at the bottom of the hill. 3. Only one outlet in the entire room. Had to unplug the tv to charge phones and take turns charging devices. No outlet by bathroom mirror to dry hair or shave. 4. No elevators -not too bad without luggage but not fun with luggage. 5. A pretty tough walk up from town - Fitbit clocked 75 flights of stairs between walk from town and steps at the hotel. 6. WiFi was very limited 7. No phone in the room 8. No iron 9. Sheets felt sticky -I think the bottom one was lined with plastic. 10. Very noisy-couldn’t sleep with all the noise from neighbors -their shower sounded like it was in our room.

Cons: Someone has urinated in the bed the stay before, and the housekeepers have remade the bed over the top so the mattress was still soaking wet and then the sheets ended up being wet with urine. Disgusting to lie in urine after a long day. We asked to move rooms at 12am and instead of an upgrade for the inconvenience, we were down graded to a room with terrible beds, no view and a TV that wouldn’t work.

Cons: Located far away from downtown (on the panoramic ring road circling high above downtown) the location is a 15 minute walk downhill through unsafe neighbourhoods. A taxi is required to return to the hotel at night. The doors of the rooms are made of metal and do not block out sound- you can hear anything that happens in the hallways. It is more like a roadside hotel. We booked it because it was the last one available on Holy Week- other than for high season, there are much better hotels located far closer to the main attractions.
