Pros: Staff was warm and welcoming without being overbearing. Room was well appointed and clean. Great bathroom! Hotel was centrally located to "downtown" Christchurch and breakfast, although a bit expensive, was good and my Latte was delicious!
Cons: Wasn't there long enough to find a negative.

Pros: Very snazzy looking; rooms were sizeable, clean and had all the things we needed including a hairdryer (super important if you’re a lady traveler) and a good assortment of snacks and in room mini bar. Did not get a chance to check out the restaurant, but upon walking by - it looked very nice and had a great menu.
Cons: No salon/ spa on site (at least not that I saw)...and room needs to offer free water bottles. We had to drink from the tap.

Pros: Staff was helpful, kind and friendly.
Cons: Laundry dryer not working properlly, took over 2 hours to dry a load of clothes. Rather be out enjoying in Christchurch. Staff was very kind and offer to watch clothing. But staff was also busy checking in and out other clients.

Pros: Good customer service, friendly front desk. Beautiful building, lovely reuse of an old government building. Great location. Nice to have laundry machines and kitchen in the room. Really large room.
Cons: - No a/c - really warm. They cannot add a/c ducting or holes to the outside because the site is a Class 1 Heritage site, i.e. historic site. However, why can't they add portable units? - Tired rooms. The tiling is old, the shower is old and water gets all over the floor, the upstairs tv didn't work right, and the layout of the bathroom is so small. - Based on the tired rooms, this is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. More like 3.

Cons: No room ready until 9pm and delays with porterage on first visit. Our tour rep. fought to get us drinks and snacks while we waited. Second visit was much-improved, with letter of apology waiting for all those who has experienced problems.
