The hotel looks and feels great The Front Desk lady was not welcoming, she kept asking for the people that was staying in the room's ID, even after I paid for the room she didn't want to give me the WiFi pass word until I gave her the ID of people staying in the room. Also she wanted me to pay 11€ for parking when I parked outside by the door w/o a problem and no charge. Everytime I saw her she will remind me of the ID. I work in a 5 star hotel as a manager and the way she treat me wasn't hospitable at all.
Central, comfortable , and staff helpful.Even cleaned car windscreen whilst garaged overnight. No
Only one night, very good, breakfast staff excellent
The location was good for the historic town It was a bit tired and in need of room makeovers
Large, clean room. All facilities of a good standard. English-speaking staff. The hotel is very good but I would reccommend more for business than leisure
Rooms need upgrading but are very comfortable. Location is excellent for the old town. Approx 10 mins walk or bus if necessary. Several good restaurants about 10 mins walk down by the beach. More suitable for city break or business than resort hotel.
was "pretty" handy for access to old town. Lots of walking involved
I think that the price for this hotel (room) was very good, the staff was nice.. Breakfast is too expensive...
Hotel staff very friendly. Hotel located across the street from the beach. Hotel had limited information about things to do in the area.
Very clean. Nice room. Decent location halfway between tourist city and nightlife. Better for families than solo travellers.
Staff were helpful Breakfast poor. There are no balconies and you advertise that all rooms have balconies
The very good accessibility to all the sights which you need to see in Cadiz couldn't have been happier with the location. The restaurant.
Excellent possibility to combine "city activities" (fascinating history, culture, flamenco, gasttronomy etc) and "beach activities"
The location. The staff is trying very hard to give you a good experience, still, no one can be that good so you forget about the old hotel. Very old and in bad condition, not refurbished for around 20 years. Airconditioning in first room not working at all during the day, so we got a new one when we came back after dinner. Then we find out that the AC is switched off in the whole hotel its switched off at 11.30 pm means you will have a very warm sleep. There are much much nicer hotels for this price in Cadiz. Very surprised to see this rund down place being marketed as a Parador. Very very disapointed.
The view of the rooms was excellent. The hotel is very well located, very clean... rooms has everything u can need during a vacation. Hotel has great pool by seaside, and one very nice thing... they had a live piano player every night at the restaurants area.. very romantic!!! Definitely i would go there again! The rooms were kinda old... definitely they need some refurbishment... still they were extremely clean and comfortable.
Very convenient location. Spacious and well appointed hotel room. Good sea views from balcony. Airy public rooms.
Good location and great view parking available The pool was not in use
it is very closed to the old city of Cadiz...the view on the Altantico is fantastic...The swimming pool is very nice as well. the room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend it.
The excellent situation, and the view from the terrace. The courteous and helpful staff. very good breakfast. Easy walk to the od town with all its attractions. If you want the beach there is an excellent one just 2 mins turning right from the hotel. Always something to see in the bay, we were pleased we took the binoculars. There were problems with the pool while we were there, but I assume this was only temporary.
Rooms spacious and clean No beach access
Location Friends who were with us had a very poor room which needed modernisation, very disappointing for a Parador.
The location right on the soft sand beach and beautiful design of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would have preferred one double bed instead of two twin beds, but there were none available in non-smoking rooms.
great location right beside a beautiful beach not all balconies get the sun
cracking locatio on the beach close to restuarants and cheringuitos. nice pool and breakfast comprehensive not so easy to get to by road adn expensive parking
Cleaning of room daily was abit hit and miss eg: we had to reuse dirty glasses, toiletry products not replaced daily.
The view from of the beach was nice once we paid the 22 euros of extra. The welcome desk was rude. The initial room( without the extra 22 euros of a full front), was poor, we had a perfect view on a gray facade of a decrepit building. The hotel did not reply to our initial questions at provided on the booking website!
Beach front location is excellent, though I did have to pay extra for beachfont rooms. lift from rooms to beach without going through lobby great facility. Lobby of the hotel is grubby especially the large sofa which needs cleaning. the whole hotel could do with a makeover. if it were not for the location the hotel would not rate highly and even with its good location I think it is overpriced
Ideally situated for both the beach and for exploring the old town of Cadiz.
Nice location, comfortable rooms. bunch of crazy gipsy drunk men singing on the beach at 4:am!!!
The view from the room
Close to beach, helpful when I left bag behind, view, Charges for parking and wifi
SPA is excellent... breakfast was not included to the price, strange... ( 117 eur )
Location, reception areas English translation of menu
the situation, and the brasserie style cafe
We were treated extremely well by the staff and when they realised we were visiting from NZ showed additional positive interest in our well being.
The best thing about this hotel is the spa. The location is also terrific as it's close to the train station and central for shopping and sightseeing. Also, make sure that you go up to the roof as the view is terrific (and then you won't need to make the climb to the top of any of the towers in town!). The decor of the hotel was not what I would consider to be a 4-star standard; the description says that it's a "brand new hotel" but I don't see how this is possible - everything looked very worn-out. Also, you have to pay extra to use the spa, which was worth it, but then they also have a bunch of other charges on top of the extra charge - such as, you have to wear flip flops in the spa and if you don't have any, you have to buy some from them. They also charge extra for towels in the spa, which seems a bit petty - we used the ones from our rooms rather than pay an extra 1.50 euros each, but then had no dry towels to use in our room.
comfortable the cleaning woman didn't change used glasses of our room so we had to wash them to use by ourselves.
the position of the hotel in relation to the attractions of the city we booked no smoking rooms and were put into smoking rooms one of which could best be described as an ashtray! Staff showed little interest in solving the problem.
Excellent location right next to port and in the old town. Foyer earea etc excellent. Rooms don't have views though. Very helpful staff . Room clean and comfortable with all usual facilites, including tea and coffee making facilites. Room service good and value for money
Nice and central but no real buzz in the surrounding area as with our hotel in Seville. instructions on how to find it. Totally incomprehensible. Took nearly 45 minutes to find it. When rung hotel staff no real help. Access to hotel garage diabolical
The staff at the breakfast was unpleasant, not helpful or nice. No parking
wonderful location, close to bus station and rental car agency as well as the heart of the old city
The location and facilities were very good. I also very much appreciated the bottle of wine and dessert being placed in my room on my birthday - my thanks to the management and staff Perhaps some of the staff could work on their friendliness - perhaps it is just the cultural diffrence (New Zealand and Spain) - very few of the staff ever smiled when being greeted or greeting us.
The convenience of the beach and eating establishments. Rooms are clean and bathroom is first class. Pillows could be more plump.
We were made welcome, given a very comfortable room with fantastic views over the beach. Breakfast was very good but the dining room seemed a bit canteen like.
Parking facilities. Convinient for beach, resturants and city centre
the people , the comfort , the location , the view all is perfect dining room and terrace facilities needs to be updated .
Very good location and friendly staff. You need to cross the street in order to get to the beach.
The location of the hotel, it is on the most beautiful beach. We visit the hotel regularly. N/A
Reception staff were excellent on the day. Rooms looked tired and in need of refurbishment.
Wonderful location opposite beach with night street market in front of the hotel and choice of great restauants. Easy to get about with buses.
The location is great, right on the beach.
We liked the room (comfortable and clean). There was lots of light and a nice view. The lobby area was nicely done. The bar at night did not serve any food.
It is close to the beach. Hotel staff was extremely poor. Everything is pay extra. Parking is terrible. Hotel food was plain and excessively expensive. This should be rated a 3-star at best, not 4-star. Choose somewhere else!
Price/Quality ratio is perfect. Cousine is perfect. Spa facilities very good, the Ocean is the best. Strongly recommended.
My room was spacious and really enjoyed the balcony. The Spa was wonderful. Parking was a nightmare. Staff was very unfriendly. Had many issues with room key not working properly. Layout of hotel was not user friendly at all.
I did not like anything. The room was dirty. It was a junior suite with a huge balcony but very unsecure (as the balcony was connected to the corridor by one side). The hotel was very noisy and the food awful. It has no direct access to the beach as other hotels. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.Even 2 stars hotels are better than this one.
location good staff very helpful and food ok long queues experienced for breakfast and dinner during weekend.
Cleanliness, Golf course and breakfast
The breakfast was excellent ! The buffet in the evening good ! They forgot to clean our room from one day to the other ! We paid a little more to have a Junior Suite, but that was waste of money. The room was also foolishly furnished.
The room was reasonably large and had a balcony overlooking the pool. The services were terrible. The waiters and waitresses could care less about you. The food was dull, boring, and repetitive. Parking was problematic. Maid service was minimal and the room was not cleaned. I had to go asking for towels 2 times. The room key would not work. There were cats climbing on the resturant tables in the morning!
The room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The design of the foyer was odd. Instead of opening out into the hotel, it seemed to get smaller.
value for money, breakfast, rooms far from historical center
It was about a 7 minute walk to the beach. Very nice rooms, though a little small for 3 adults and a baby. Everything was new and clean. The hotel staff was very helpful. Great breakfast! The hotel is not close to the "touristy" parts of Cadiz. Not a whole lot of restaurants really close by. The hotel rooms are only meant for 2 people.
the staff were super friendly
Convenient for the beach. Bathroom doors were made of tinted glass. You could see through them.
Good location. Smelly smokey rooms & lights in the corridors are very inadequate - it's to dark!
Good location, clean tidy and quiet room, close to amenities, hassle free stay. No tea/coffee making facility in room
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Good location. Room 411 unpleasant view from window of peoples washing hanging from the balconies of their flats.
room was very clean and cool, confortable bed and amazing shower when we arrived we were given a set of keys that didnt work, i asked for another set of keys that also didnt work, the third ones were ok but we were asked to leave them at reception every time. also on the last night the window kept opening all night due to the wind, apart from this i couldnt really fault this hotel
Beach nearby, easy access to everywhere, very helpful staff, good view from our room Never managed to connect to the internet, we didnt have a double bed but two beds pushed together
The staff. Both the front desk and restaurant personnel was very welcoming, friendly. The front desk personnel went the extra mile to accommodate all our needs. No parking
View from the bedroom. Very comfortable bed. The fact the swimming pool was out of use (& had been for a long while). Staff not as good as they could have been.
Position. Rooms were good - ours faced the Cathedral. Staff very pleasant. Breakfast could have had more choices, but adequate.
The staff were very helpful and the location was perfect for visiting the city. Initially there appeared to be some cleanliness issues but these were addressed promptly
Very pleasant & clean
location was perfect! The beach and restaurants are very close.
not so expensive but comfortable and clean! excellent!!
Great staff: super-friendly and helpful. Very quiet room. Excellent location practically on the beach. Trifle expensive for a 3 star hotel, but then it was peak season and all the hotels were full.
location and Privacy No pool
Good and friendly staff, clean rooms Expensive based on room, no breakfast & location, but choosen because it was in walking distance of the swimming competition centre
Staff helpful & friendly. Location, close to beautiful beach & was walking distance to where i needed to be everyday (Swimming Pool). Cost (expensive), especially when compared to the deals you can get these days (recession times).
Comfortable room, convenient cafe on site
We like all good restaurents and bars close to the hotel. Nice walk along the beachfront into old town (30 min). Our apartment have a good view over the sea. Clean and spacious. Staff were very helpful and Nice.Beach playa victoria also very good. Nice people in Cadiz overall. No.
Stayed for a business trip. Basic facilities, nothing fabcy but all that you need for business trip. Clean, close to the beach and relatively cheap when I booked. They gave me a room looking at the back so no nice view but quiet. Most of the staff could hardly speak english. No wifi in my room, had to go to the lounge to check my emails. On the website on booking.com was saying "air shuttle" but this refers to the public bus service (which takes almost 2 h for a 30 min drive), not a hotel service!
The Hotel was very well situated the staff particularly at reception were very good and helpful a bit on the pricey side but other than that very good
reception, helpful staff, wifi cafe bar only open mornings
friendly staff and hotel was clean, well maintained and cosy. No choice for breakfast. Coffee not hot and hotel was in location surrounded with shops but few restaurants and bars near to hotel
There is linked car parking space within 100 metres and buses pass directly in front of the hotel heading for the city centre. Like many continental hotels there was no kettle in the room. As a Brit I would really appreciate that facility.
The orange juice and nice people. The breakfeast: the bread wasn't good. The room's view.
Only stayed one night but it was convenient, comfortable and clean - and the receptionist spotted it was my birthday and wished my happy birthday!
The hotel staff was very kind and helpful
Proximity to beach - whilst easy to get to the old town via bus. Decent breakfast included Surrounding area is a bit grubby.
The location. The advertisment picture showing a roof top patio when the normal rooms had no outdoor facilities.
Good location in the old city, also close to the bus and train stations. Free wifi, also in my room. Helpful staff. My room, #44, was so small that there was even no room for a desk.
Perfectly central, 200m near the large parking garage at the port, but still in the middle of the old town with tight roads. Very new hotel and very helpful personnel. The aircon was too loud to leave on at night and despite being in the 4th floor, it was very noisy outside as the garbage collectors came out at 01:30 at night!!! Room was a bit small and the showers are impossible to use without spraying the whole floor (no curtains!)
Location close to all sights and city centre Nothing major.Street noise from 0700 hrs onwards but to be expected in a city centre location.
Location and free internet.
Very good location in the old city by the cathedral. Many good value bars, tapas bars, etc narby. Good friendly staff at hotel. Room small but no problem.
Attic room's terrace was huge Well-situated in the historical center Polite, efficient staff -For the money (in high season), there may be places with more wow factor
I liked all during my stay. The Hotel is situated in the center, in only a 2 minutes walk you reach the cathedral, all places to visit are in walking distance, also restaurants, bars. The breakfast is great. Very kind manager staff and kind personal. The only thing I missed was a lounge.
The breakfast - excellent! Room we had a little small.
A small, modern oasis in old Cadiz 'twixt cathedral and waterfront.Clean, efficient, welcoming. What more? mirrors in bathroom only. room gets made up most days but with an occasional miss if you don't coincide with their maid service conveniently.. it's not an easy place to find on first acquaintance in the maze of streets in old Cadiz.. it's a 10 minute walk from station or a ridiculously short taxi ride. better directions for approaching from say the waterfront or a landmark like the very large Customs House building would help.
right location, helpful people once you get to know them seems like the safes have a problem, rooms are very small (but new), parking is a big challenge in the area
staff quite grumpy, unhelpful, and came across as lazy. Absolutely no information for tourists at hand, or willingness to say anything. Room very basic, no wireless in rooms (as advertised), staff unfriendly and unhelpful
Location and decoration.
Excellent location for exploring the old town.
Helpfulness of staff
The hotel had a very nice roof-terrace. The hotel had a very central location in the old town It was located at a very noisy street. The hotel just offered Spanish tv-stations. We missed a safe in the room. The shower cabinet was too small for adults and the shower head fell down constantly. We complained on this point but nothing happend.
A beautifically decorated, stylish and clean hotel.
good location, good view of city most staff were unfriendly and unhappy, requested non-smoking room and room smelled like smoke constantly, poor bathroom facilities- shower was extremely small and shower head fell on us constantly while leaking all over the floor, couldn´t use jacuzzi, no internet access.
I liked the grand exterior room with the nice view of the street I asked for thanks to the feedback in the reviews on the booking website.
Location of the hotel is excellent. Rooms on the street are a bit noisy. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Very small rooms with no place to sit down. Only one straight backed chair. For a hotel that claims 4 stars, I would have expected a little more comfort. Breakfast service is very inefficient. Inept staff.
Checking out the next day, although we would have preferred a more sympathetic and helpful head receptionist. Room tiny, shower cubicle so small that the taps kept being knocked from hot to cold because you couldn't move in it. Did not sleep, very noisy all night from both inside the hotel and especially outside. Very disappointed. Our comments on checkout were not handled very well by head receptionist.
the staff were very friendly and helpful and the sea view was fantastic
Place is good, near to beach, K for visiting Cadiz. Free car park
Good value for money.
it is a 4 star hotel at the beach quite empty late in october. The beach is very clean and save even for little kids. Only 5 km from the center of Puerto Santa Maria and about 20 km from Jerez (20€ by taxi really worth to visit with its huge farmers markets !!!) swimming pool was closed like in all other hotels in October;-((
The location and view were outystanding, there was a very warm welcome all our requests were met on the spot. It was all we expected
Staff were very friendly and location was brilliant Aircon was not v cold but it was ok
Very nice view to the see, comfortable room. Restaurant only served some menu for dinner; there was no a la cart choice to have dinner.
maybe because of the disco next door one had to endure a lot of noise during the night front office was not able to charge my Amex card (on purpose?)
It´s layed practically at the beach, close to the busy souvenir and bars/restaurants (during season!) street, nice big pool and garden, parking lot (plenty of space off season), dont know about season time though! Very friendly, lovely people, good food. Getting there through the town.... despite navigator! Stick to the bigger streets and dont let your navi get you through the lovely but mostly one way streets in the city center... you´ll find yourself circling a lot (nothing to do with hotel though). Hotel itself was busy even in off season. We liked it.
Superb staff, lovely room, good location, good breakfast No
Ultimately a good location on quiet alley, round corner to one of the off-main-drag shopping malls and interesting plazas and very good restaurants (eg Calle Zilla, that locals frequent), close to port. Clean. Extremely courtious and helpful staff. The temporary bus-station is currently closer to Cathedral area than to this hotel - so needed a cab. Room tight and awkward for 2 plus big suitcases. Faulty aircon system...water from ceiling flooded the bathroom!!!!! We were given another room next night.
This was the most peaceful hotel ever for a city centre, mainly due to the lack of traffic. Very comfortable. Parking is an absolute nightmare! None at or near the hotel. The one recommended by the hotel was full and finding another took some time, then a long walk in the rain! However, the people of Cadiz are extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotel was beautifully decorated and furnished. As requested at the time of booking, we were allocated a quiet room not facing the strreet and the room was indeed very quiet. We found the beds extremely comfortable and the location of the hotel very convenient. Although the breakfast buffet was certainly more varied than the norm in Spanish hotels, unfortunately much of the selection was not to our personal taste, eg we would have preferred hard boiled eggs kept warm rather than served ice cold from the fridge, croissants without a sticky, sweet glaze, and some fresh fruit rather than sticky cakes. My vegetarian partner could not eat the cheese as it was served on the same plate as sliced ham.
Its location was perfect in the old city of Cadiz.
Top notch two or three star hotel in the middle of a beautiful, atmospheric city. Gorgeous rooms and the staff bent over backwards to be helpful. No complaints.
It was central, the room was lovely and the staff courteous
lovely hotel and room.staff very helpful. nice free breakfast. right in the middle of where you want to be for sight seeing, restautants, shopping and walking
This was our second visit to the hotel having stayed there last year . We really appreciate the friendliness of the staff , the location, the breckfast the decor everything really !! We have been very impressed thanks again for a lovely stay . The bed in room 202 was uncomfortable my husband and i had a bad back. But everything else was splendid !
Charm, Location, Real sense of service.
Excellent location for short, inexpensive bus ride into centre of Cadiz. Beautiful beach within 5 minutes walking distance. Friendly staff, comfortable room, absolutely no complaints.
Very expensive for quality of rooms plus first place i see that wants to charge 20E for a cot.
The hotel was very clean and in a good location. Free wifi, well decorated and a nice feel. Not too large good value.
Staff very helpful; near bus stop for out-of-town buses; Need to negotiate a short flight of stairs before accessing lifts
The room Staff
friendly good access to amenities
This hotel is in the modern part of the Cadiz peninsula just two blocks away from the long, clean beach and 1 euro away by public transport from Old Cadiz. There is a Hipercor supermarket about eight blocks away in the other directionf from the beach on the inner harbour side. The hotel has off street parking under sheltered bays. It has a small breakfast service but this was quite new and we didn't try it. There is an excellent restaurant linked to their own bakery just across the road and the staff were very friendly and helpful and tolerant of my elementary Spanish. The staff in the hotel were helpful and the rooms were clean and the daily service left the rooms shining. I haven't read reviews about this hotel. There didn't appear to be a porter and there were a few steps between reception and the lifts to the upper floors but I think I noticed a chair lift for elderly people. We managed to lift our cases on our own to the lift door. No wait for lifts at any time.
Excellent location, comfortable rooms. Staff is accommodating, if not overly friendly. The continental breakfast is mediocre.
The room and bathroom were very clean and relatively modern. The front desk staff only spoke Spanish and were not overly helpful when I needed to make an overseas collect call.
Budget travelers but with very limited services so the overall value is just fair. It is OK if you are not demanding.
Good location for beach Lack of cafeteria/bar facilities except at breakfast
Excellent Value nice hostal with ample parking and in an excellent location. Jacuzzi and sauna on premisies. No refrigierator bu tfor the money an superb value.
A very picturesque location! Nice staff and clean rooms. Boring neighborhood.
Nice room, nice and helpful staff, good and plentiful breakfast Staff does not know English, it could be a problem for tourists that do not speak Spanish.
Excellent service by the staff. Quit location close to the beach. It is best to take the boat to Cadiz but be aware of the final schipping. The town itself is worth visiting as well with nice restaurants and other areas to visit and is not so touristy as Cadiz. The bed was a little small for our size 1.85 m.
It is right by a very nice pine forest, which you have to cross to get to the beach. The beach is kind of bland, nothing exceptional, but has good 'chiringuitos' (beach bars) that offer the traditional 'pescaíto frito' (fried seafood). The hotel is not very close to the center, so except for this basic beach, there is nothing else to do, unless you have a car.
